Hyatt Regency, 30 Portman Square, Marylebone, London W1H 7BH, Zverevo
Upscale hotel cocktail bar with a Churchill theme, art deco details, a cigar humidor and a terrace.
After frequenting this place for years. In the last few years the level of service is below par. With service at a mediocre restaurant being more attentive. Requests go unanswered. Staff are not in sync and working well with one another. And as always difficult to get a table outside for a smoke.
The otherwise faintly anonymous Hyatt Regency hotel, just off Oxford Street, is now the home of a glamorous bar designed as homage to one of the country’s most iconic political figures, Winston Churchill.
We had a lovely evening at the Churchill terrace which is pretty and comfortable. The staff is attentive. Cocktails are great and you definitely should try the Pinot noir from South Africa!
Good first time experience, cocktails were nice and looked unique. Cigars tasted good, low to medium flavour was a good pick, slow burn. Had me feeling like Che Guevara. Cant remember the staffs names but there was a guy at the door that welcomed us, took us to our table and helped us decide on choosing a cigar, cool guy, appreciate him. There was a pretty young lady who helped with the cocktails and taking our coats, she didnt disappoint when we asked for a strong and sweet cocktail. Felt like we gave her a lot to do with our indecisiveness but she was of great assistance and we appreciate her and the business as a whole. Will be back.
High end but relaxing environment. We only came for drinks and possibly a little sweet treat. They did not disappoint!
Went here Thursday night for a drink with my husband. It is beautiful inside and we had a table by the electric fireplace. Ordered two drinks and one bottle water and bill was £47. They included a bowl of almonds and peanuts. The drinks were delicious and lots of pretty people out on the town! Our waiter was professional and his service was excellent! The Negroni ice cube had the silhouette of Sir Winston Churchill!
Nice little cigar bar outside. Staff was friendly and helpful. Be careful though, if youre not a guest of the hotel you will have to buy at least 30£ of drinks and/or cigars.
Great cocktails, a bit on the expensive side. Trust the bartenders! Szymon was really helpful and knowledgeable!
Ive been twice now, 1st shortly after lockdown ended when there were more options on the food menu. Q. Do you share a kitchen with one of the other restaurants as the burger was amazing with flavour and Id like it again. 2nd visit was a much more limited bar nibbles menu. Cocktails are amazing and unique, with such attentative staff, would highly recommend.
We stayed at the hotel and enjoyed a drink here, but didnt try the food. Its a lovely environment to relax in. FOLLOW ME for more thoughtful recommendations as I travel the world 🌎
Great cocktails and their presentation, lovely atmosphere, nice staff as well. Not giving it 5* as I found it a little bit overpriced
All time classic cocktail and cigar bar in London. Always a good safe bet for quality night out
Very nice and relaxing cocktail bar. We came here around 5pm on Friday and it was quite quiet. Their Negroni from the master cocktail was one of the best I’ve tried. Good service and tasty chips!!For seats at the terrace, they require minimum order of £30 per person.
Was good but we asked for a chair and it was a huge deal to bring it. But the waiter is good and the drinks are perfect!!??
I must say the drinks were super great but heavily overpriced. Service is not on par with the type of upscale environment they are trying to create. Also they have a cigar bar which is cool but even when sitting inside you can get really heavy wafts of smoke. It has such great reviews I was very excited to try this place out but unfortunately it didnt live up to the hype.
Although cocktails were good it was very expensive for what you get.
I was encouraged to visit this venue by lots of goods reviews, however, I left it quite disappointed. At first, I was a bit taken off by the strong smell of cigars, but then I recalled, that I am in Churchill’s bar. The drinks served here are very good, and each one is unique and different its way. The old fashioned was very good, served with a big piece of ice. However, the food that I tried, was disappointing. The sliders were more like meatballs in buns, and halloumi strips were overly salty. Lastly, what was shocking to me is that the waiter that was serving us, weirdly asked my friend whether he is feeling unwell as guests visiting the venue cannot be seen sleeping or taking a nap. My friend was simply exhausted after long train ride to London and the waiter’s behaviour was outrageous. Shortly after, we left in silence, all shocked.
Really nice and chill place before 9pm. Cocktails are around £18, average of central, but my god, I had the best spicy margarita ever and I need to know what it had. The bartender told me but couldnt hear him. It was perfect. Thank you for a lovely "writing" night.
Ive been twice and the service is ok. The first time it was busy so we sat at the bar, which was fine. Second time it was very quiet (it was early eveningand we were told we could have the table for an hour. It was still very quiet after this, and when asked our waiter said we could stay for 20 more minutes. So we finished our drinks and got the bill. Its a shame as its got a great bar and the bar staff are very good. You can sit inside or out (they have heaters and blankets for cooler weather).I think they are trying to be a bit too exclusive and dont want walk-ins.If you are able to book, go ahead, but if you arent able to, Id spend your money elsewhere.
Great bar. Friendly staff and great way to make new friends visiting from across the globe. Nice atmosphere and delicious cocktails. Staff is knowledgeable in the cocktail recipes.
The staff was attentive and really helped to order what we would like / offered substitutions. The terrace has blankets and heaters, so definitely a must visit.
Lovely upscale bar, near to Marble arch station. Staff were friendly and courtious, whilst I wandered round the area looking for a friend I was meeting. Theres a nice outdoor patio area, a cosy bar/restaurant area, and a spacious lounge area, hidden away in an area next to the bar/restaurant area. I recommend the whitebait if you fancy having a snack with your drink
Once upon a time this used to be a classy little bar that I enjoyed frequenting regularly when in London. However my last visit was a total disappointment. The atmosphere was flat and the service quite slow. Add to this a totally useless manager whos main objective appeared to be turning away guest saying there was a 30 minute wait for a seat when the place had no more than 4 couples in the bar. Bad ending to what had been an absolutely wonderful dinner at the Locatelli restaurant next door I guess I will be looking for a new bar on my return to London.
We didnt have many choices are the time but I wouldnt recommend. After the "welcome" from one of the men working there when I stepped in, I really didnt feel like staying there but we were close to where we needed to be. Luckily my guests didnt see his rude behaviour. Apart from one female member of staff who was very good - literally both stars just for her! - the serving staff acted like they were doing you a favour and the service was unbelievably slow. Will not return, do not recommend.
Really nice bar, was able to sit down on a busy nigh on Saturday. The drinks menu is great and the variety of bites and food was good too. Would certainly visit again, especially in warmer weather to experience the terrace as it looked very nice. Quite pricey, but pretty typical for the area.
I usually love this place the cocktails are fab but when you have more staff than customers yet they still ignore you even when you look at them direct...sorry off to the Connaught Bar
Nice terrace good cheese platters perfect chocolate fondueYou can smoke your cigar if youre setting out sideReservations is required
Great cocktails and atmosphere. Staff well trained and excellent service.
Service were super fine and exclusive. We received service from few bartenders and they were all very professional and very kind. The burger was delicious! The drinks as well and the environment in the terrace were very pleasant.
Super delicious pasta with cuttlefish (I added mayonnaise BBQ octopus is also good. Such an atmosphere and the location, the price is good.I believe the dessert and drink will be even better, try it next time! The best bar I have ever visited. Miss the past fondue...
Its one of my favourite bars in town, since Covid havent visited it, but was so glad it stayed the same as it was before ❤️ yummi Eton mess dessert and great cocktails, but we were not offered nuts or olives like before. Atmosphere was great as always!
Nice cocktails and environment, if you don’t smoke the terrace won’t suit you as it’s a cigar bar … the food was okay too.
Very friendly staff and lovely nicely decorated alfresco area. Meat Burger was really tasty and it was a good portion. I’d say cocktails are slightly overpriced.
The terrace is perfect for alfresco with decent heaters and cosy rugs for each table. Cocktails were great and staff were friendly and attentive. Great work!
Very beautiful terrace, super friendly staff (the two Portuguese guys were lovely!and overall great atmosphere. Didnt make it up to 5 stars, and give it 4 because the food was nice but nothing special about it, specially for the price, and neither much choice. Better for drinks and snacks than a proper dinner in my opinion!
This is where I would like to go.all dishes look good and tasty.desert was the most delicious!
Fantastic service, great food and a lovely atmosphere. Great location if you enjoy cigars and want to while away a couple of hours away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street
Attentive staff, good service. The food was nice, nothing special. After spending a few hours, consuming only champagne, my female friend and I wanted to stay for a third bottle but we were told there was no capacity and we would have to move on. So we did, to the Mandarin Oriental where they were far more accommodating.
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you are looked after amazingly. The staff could not be friendlier or more attentive and the food was amazing, compliments should go to the chef. One of the few places in London where you can eat, drink and still smoke a cigar with an extensive range of Cuban cigars in their own humidor and very reasonably priced.
What an amazing experience and had a great time. Well educated and attentive staff made my birthday feel special. Was nice even for a very occasional cigar smoker, the menu and drinks were amazing
Close to Oxford Street, this 1920s inspired bar lounge is elegant, warm and boasts great service. The outside area feels almost Nordic in the winter. Make sure you book.
We had a great lunch here with delicious dishes especially fondue where we extremely enjoyed dipping in the hot chocolate pot. The staff however delivered good service.
I literally lived across the road from this spot, so it will always be a favourite. If you want to hang with friends, or sit and smoke a cigar alone, look no further.Decent ambience and good table service. If you do find yourself sat on the terrace, you can always ask for a blanket, if the outdoor heaters arent enough. There is a minimum spend of £30 on an evening.
Absolutely amazing Staff with a good selection of quality Food and Cocktails. Visit here to enjoy time spent and get memories to remember 😊😁👌🏻
Whether for a cigar, a meal or just some drinks with friends, this Bar and Terrace will impress. Sitting outdoors in the cold is made bearable with ample heating and blankets for all. An approachable vibe makes this one of my favorite places to spend some time at in London.
Quite a lovely, quaint bar inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Terrific service and excellent food and cocktails.
Great bar with a relaxed atmosphere. The terrace is also great. Cocktails are awesome, snacks which accompany matchingly good. Have been back several times and will continue to do so.
Nice bar for lunch. Terrace is really nice to sit out on, gets very hot if youre in the sun. Food was good, especially the chips. The drinks were very expensive, £7 for a small bottle of lager. Service was ok, friendly enough but nothing special. Overall is definitely worth a visit
Pompatic... Very kind and helpful waitresses. Managers rude to the point to scream at the staff in the main restaurant room. He demanded standards which he was obviously missing himself.Food nicely presented and composed with care, however taste barely average. I got upset stomach after fish and chips...? Unusual.
Lovely upscale barGood option for another version of afternoon tea (fondue)Very quietGood and discret serviceGood atmosphereThe terrace is real cozy but the time I went it was so windy that I couldn’t make it outside ...
