The Church of Our Lady and the English Martyrs in Cambridge
Description
Privilege
Was sad and depressed just before I went there. First I was amazed by the architecture from outside and inside I cried and prayed and stood there for a while.. My mind was distorted and I came out with huge relief. I believe and trust mother and Ill go again till I can.God bless everyone and wish peace everywhere.✝️☮️
MoreBeautiful cathedral and service
Very beautiful ❤️🙏
Beautiful church and peaceful adoration
Wondefull church. Expensive to visit, then I did not visited inside.
Beautiful church right in the heart of Cambridge.
Interesting with disabled parking in carpark at the side.
A beautiful peaceful place with amazing windows
Wonderful old Gothic church, we celebrate Chinese Martyrs in this English Martyrs Church. What a great memory.
MoreThis is probably the most beautiful buildings in the area and being a catholic church, I was very happy that it was open during the day.You can freely enter the building, take pictures, admire the view or pray, without any issues. It is very interesting how, despite that it’s on a very busy junction, when you enter the building it’s like you enter a different realm, everything changes – the sound, the light And what I particularly like about churches, the air! You can probably get a good idea of the look of the place from the pictures and videos online but that has nothing to do with being there.I highly recommend.Unfortunately, there is no car park around the park for free, but if you are planning a visit to Cambridge, I believe it’s worth it to park at the nearest paid car park which is Queen Anne Terrace car Park.
MoreBeautiful. Actually Im not really into this religion thing, but this church was worth the time.
MoreGreat place to be. Im impressed
Glorious building for very active parish family.
A very beautiful church in Cambridge. The priests are very sweet and helpful
Beautiful Gothic revival style church and active parish. Always fresh flowers everywhere.
MoreThe more Churches I visit the more I see the Hansom name pop up . It would appear that the Hansom clans works are almost as prolific and just as impressive as the Gilbert Scotts . And this is yet another with the family brand on it forever . Edward Joseph Hansom was the architect of this one in partnership with A M Dunn and what a work of art it is .Sadly I have just read that like Gilbert Scotts son who designed the Catholic Cathedral in Norwich both came to a tragic end . So sad this is so often the case . Two men who through their work are still bringing emense pleasure to a nobody like me a 100 years later should end like this . R.I.P. the pair of you .Needless to say this is a beautiful church anybody visiting Cambridge today will be familiar with it .I have lost my thread now but please visit and find it in your heart to say a prayer for the architect .
MoreAmazing church and parish, spend time quite time here during a hectic day and you wont regret it.
MoreBeautiful church and I got married here in 1998, worth a visit even if your not religious
MoreAn absolutely beautiful church! If you are in the area then go and see it!

MoreBeen there for a visit but it was closed. still try to get some pics to remind myself that I should b back for a peaceful time for meditate myself. Though very beautiful church from outside. Should b peaceful and calming inside.
MoreWent during Christmas and it had a really serene/peaceful atmosphere. They were also well prepared in terms of COVID-19 protection and felt clean there despite it being really crowded. Its a beautiful church and the mass was really nice. The priest was also very friendly as well. The lights and reflecting glass made the place glow up. Was a calming experience overal!
MoreWent for a visit but was blessed we got to attend the mass aswell. Very beautiful church. Peaceful and calming to be inside.
MoreA great holy place to worship God. I feel like I am already in heaven during masses. Good preaching by the priest and wonderful congregation. Its a community of Gods people.
MoreAmazing place with amazing atmosphere. ❤️
Excellent view and nice church.A stop for a quick prayer & to marvel at the architecture, paintings, stanied glass and altar.
MoreBeautiful ARCHITECTURE plus an unexpected working CLOCK and also inside PAINTINGS which not only denote good art but help prayer and make the place solemn by elevating the spirit. Moreover, the priests are good preachers and it seems they celebrate mass with devotion and love for the people who attend. Very Friendly and available for confession even after hours when possibleMany people to the daily mass.
Morepeaceful and surreal experience. makes you feel like you are very close to God with the atmosphere. also reccomend to any passers-by to come visit this beautful Cambridge landmark.
Morehad a lovely event listening to a great concert by G6 what beautiful sound in a lovely church ⛪
MoreThis church on s full of character and the architecture is breath taking. The ambiance is calm and serene.
MoreFriendly Parish, lovely choral music at the 11am and 6.30pm Mass, and a brilliant world music acoustic group at the 5pm Mass. Child friendly Mass at 9.30am.Good COVID precautions, I felt safe and protected.
MoreLandmark of sorts. I used to take Bus No 26 from here to go to Harston Mill every morning. Unfortunately I have no photograph of this place. Nice quite place nestled on a busy junction
MoreExcellent architecture....well preserved and very calm atmosphere inside
A beautiful and surprising oasis of calm on a busy junction. Well worth dropping by to say a prayer, light a candle and remember the martyrs of the past and those in places unfashionable to our woke culture who are being martyred day by day.Thank you for keeping the church door open, when so many are closed.
MoreVisited in July 2020, everybody was wearing a mask, everybody was sensible and kept a good distance but no area was sealed off with hideous-looking tape, so it all felt quite normal. No singing during Mass, of course, but organ music.Overall, as normal as possible. I recommend attending Mass here if you can (its always worth doing that, if course but the atmosphere is as close to normal as you can have it right now).
MoreNeo-gothic Catholic church, an impressive sight that dominates southern Cambridge before you get into Cambridge proper. Would highly recommend having a look around, the architecture is superb.Mass times are available on the website and are frequent. Confessions are daily I believe.
MoreWow the interior of this church was beautiful!
Seriously beautiful church! There are masses available in Polish as well which is great for poles ( me including )
MoreIt is an old and interesting church. By the way during my visit it was in a state of refurbishment so I couldnt enjoy the visit. It looks a bit abandoned to be honest and they could do much more to make it appear better. Anyway the entrance is free and if you are passing by it you should get inside to have a look.
MoreGreat medieval architecture. Solemn atmosphere inside.
Nice place if you want to take a time to meditate and be alone, amusing architecture, and church decoration, feel like you are literally in the medieval time.
MoreBeautiful church. As an American, there are several Saints with which I am unfamiliar - but a beautiful witness to the faith and the universality of the Church.
MoreMagnificent building.I recommend the Sunday service, specially when youth choir is performing ,their voices are like angels singing and with the surroundings of the building I felt Gods presence. Great musical directors and talented choristers congratulations.
MoreLovely place. Traditional and quaint. Does the Roman Catholic ♥️ good.
Lovely church and Mass very well attended
Lovely place to visit, is open for visitors all the day, good way to know the architecture of the old Cambridge.
MoreThis is a one of the most beautiful churches Ive been to. The best thing about this church is the pin drop slience inside the church. I usually drop in after 6pm when no one is there. The peace that I get from here is never obtained from anywhere else.Praise the Lord 🙏
