The Chop Bar - Achimota Retail Centre - Chop bar in Accra, Ghana
I’ve been to ‘The Chop Bar’ twice so far and I can honestly say they have the best Yam Chips, it’s crunchy, hot and simply delicious, I could eat it on its own. I also had the boiled yam and palava sauce (kontomire & egusiand that was amazing too. Their portions are huge so I can never finish a plate. The prices are slightly higher than the average but with what you get, I’d say it’s worth it.Service is good - polite and friendlyAmbience- it’s funny both times that we’ve been there, there’s a football match so it drags a lot of young guys there which makes it quite noisy.Overall - I’ve give it a 9/10, I’ll happily go there anytime without hesitation.
I really enjoyed their fufu and palm-nut soup. You should try it out. Hope to try other dishes.
I ordered for banku and okro ( crabs wele and chicken I got home to see half a finger of 2 wele, one little piece of chicken and two fish which I told them I didn’t want and no crabs at all. I made a call just now as am typing to tell them and the cook had the audacity to tell the lady I was talking on phone that I was lying thinking I couldn’t hear here I told the lady I will come to the chop bar to talk to the manager and this will be my last time buying from this place. Such disrespect
They have great mango juice. Rice balls too on point. Don’t forget to try this Mokai too
I did not enjoy the food. They were polite though.
If there were a way to give no stars I would. First of all the prices aren’t listed on the menu, secondly I ordered I believe one large bone of fufu with 3 crabs and 2 pieces of goat meat. I also ordered 1 bill for of Alvaro and 2 bottles of water. Come to find out all of that is 175 cedis. When I asked the lady at the front shy the food is so expensive she literally told me “because they use air conditioner and pay high rent that’s why the food is soo expensive”Honestly felt like I was scammed in my own country. I would urge anyone reading this not to visit this establishment.
I ordered redred (fried plantain, bean stew with grilled goatthey hid the goat inside of the stew and the meat had beans stew all over it 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ Who does that?? I ordered ginger ale— as I was almost finished drinking my drink; the waiter takes it and throw it without my permission! I don’t know if it’s a strategy to get you to purchase more drinks but It got me very upset because this service is not free. I don’t think I will come back here again
They began nice but their quality is not upto standard any more
Glorified chop bar...tasty food, frankly. Good sports on the TV as well...very decent menu selection, bothfood and drinks...some daring cocktail sections too! Large portion sizes though...much better way to spend your money than fast food!
Need s place to hang out, eat or shop, then one of the best places to visit is this. Easily accessible for people not driving, there is a bus station nearby so no need to worry
I actually enjoyed the jollof rice with fried chicken Hoo OMG it was too tasty
Their services are very poorThey don’t serve according to the price givenTasteless soup
Too expensive in my opinion. Food is alright but prices are outrageous! Fufu and 2 pieces of normal sized goat for Ghs60?! I mean how?
Dont even think of spending ur money here, poor management and services.Food was cold and seriously everything was very poor.
I had Tilapia light soup and it pretty good. I enjoyed it. My cousin and his wife had plantain and palava sauce and they really enjoyed it
Their food was ok but they can improve on their service.
Slight delay in food service yet good is delicious
Very friendly people with good food....u will love it
OMG.. I love the fufu. And their soap is awesome. Its the new Sunday joint
Its small, trendy and upbeat. Great foods. Exceptional customer service. Accepts mobile money and pos mode of payments. For a fast feel of local delicacies, the chop bar is the place to be..
Theyve got delicious local foods there and their services is on point .
Its a convinient place to have any local dish of your choice and at any time. Seriously, its the time factor that makes this place stand out. If have given 5 stars if not for their pricing
They also swap orders.Giving me what I haven’t ordered. For the third consecutive time the delivery guy brought me something I didn’t order for. Please always check if you do a take away or request through delivery before you make payment.
Excellent Local Foods and Affordable. Served Fresh and Hot. You will love it.
I love their jollof with grilled chicken.A little expensive but the chicken is enough to make up 😂#AmoyawKasa
Delicious meals at its best, specially the local foods. Im coming back soon.
Local food here is always on point. They serve if not the best..then definitely one the best fufu with palm nut, goat, and groundnut soup. And service here is not exactly cheap but definitely affordable. The decor and seating is just perfect and beautiful.
Food is good but you always have to argue with the people for your receipt. So you wonder if the owner gets his/her money. Poor services over there
I visited the chop bar restaurant at the Achimota Mall to eat with my wife at a total cost of GHc.140.00 on 7th February, 2020 @ (9:43pm GMTafter we were done eating and made payment, we were given a not paid receipt which the supervisor by the name Thomas confidently walked to us to mention that he had dumped our paid receipt in the bin and that he can’t find it. We insisted to be issued with a paid receipt and after about 15minutes we were finally issued with a paid receipt.I believe that the issue of paid receipt should be a mandatory policy of the business as this can cause customers to loose trust visiting the Resturant and also a measure to curtail leakages in your business.
Most of the food at the chop bar are a bit pricey. My favourite option here is the Champion waakye. In my opinion it is the most reasonably priced. I like the fact that this meal is consistent and comes with optional additions which makes it really yummy. Staff are also a bit slow. We almost left one time when the waitress was delaying.
Very good food. A little steep on the pocket but very ok. My only issue is at the time I visited they didnt have a working POS
The restaurant is tacked on the corner of the shopping mall. We were seated right away and the restaurant itself was cozy. The menu had a lot to choose from including freshly squeezed fruit juices. There are also alcohol, non alcoholic beverages as well as a range of the locals drinks. My food was served hot and had everything i asked for. My friend also had grill fish and he also loved it. The price was decent for a good meal, it was worth it. Highly recommend.
Visit Accra mall for better prices. Prices here are over the top in comparison to.. well everywhere.Manager is good, food is good but prices just dont fit. Loud music with bare cafeteria setting and charging 4/5 star prices is not reasonable.
Good local food and good service. But seem to have stopped stocking my favourite drink Sobolo.
This is a great place to hang out for people between 15 - 16 years old. The music is loud, interior poor, service poor (breaking lot of things and extremely loud doing simple tasks), food home would be better, but since youre with friends you dont care. A feeling of being at any McDonalds chain at that age. The prices are a bit too much for that age though (Ghana standards). On top of that its listed without VAT (17.5%plus if they sense youre foreign, they will add another 1.5% tourist tax to it. So, if you love unpleasant surprises, this is the spot.
The chop bar at achimota retail cemter is the best local restaurant in Accra.Their food is the bestNice environmentRespectful waiters and waitresss give you the best hospitality you can ever have at any chop bar in GhanaThey also have cocktails and smoothiesTheir simply the best and I recommend this place for everyone out there looking for a very nice local food
Its a perfect atmosphere to work in, with good food to eat. But the service is majorly slow!
As a tourist, this was my first time trying Ghanaian cuisines and this was a great place to attempt this. The Staff are friendly, the environment is cozy and the food is nice.
Its a nice place with good food. The banku is quite expensive but too much for one person. They can probably reduce the price and serve lesser which will be enough for a person.
Good food and nice customer service. Only tasted their jollof and wasn’t all that nice so I give them a three star
I had recently visit The Chop Bar. It was a dinner party with about 25 guests. Turned out to be a great evening! The service is decent, as a group of 25 we did not face any struggle. All in all a great place to go if you like Ghanaian food !
Last month I and my friends visited Ghana. We visit The Chop Bar for our last day dinner and the food here was delicious. From there decor to food everything was stunning. It is one of the best restaurants in Accra. We will surely visit again when we came again to Ghana.
I had to wait for 30 minutes for an order I placed. I was of the knowledge that the food i ordered was not a special dish so was not supposed to take that long. Whats more I did not get value for my money--an overpriced snail which was barely the size of my thumb knuckle. The look on the waiters face after she delivered the meal suggested disapproval for what she served. "Im sure you were served two snails for that price," she said. I replied "no" and off she went to make a complaint but came back disappointed. It was awfully disappointing on my part too. When the quantity is compromised the price should be too.
It has a homey feel, clean and lovely ambience! The owner is amazing.Food was great! First time having ‘Assorted Jollof Rice’ but I’m 100% certain it’s as authentic as can be. Good price for great authentic Ghanaian food.
Food is really tasty. Enjoyed their Jollof and grilled chicken. Food relatively pricier but they serve really fast.
Nice food, clean environment, a bit pricier than the usual but in all, a good place to eat
They have the best jollof (better than any restaurant Ive triedin Ghana.Their beef is always soft and well-made. Their sauce (which comes with the jollofis also so good that you could actually eat it with plain rice and it would be perfect. It has an amazing aroma.Their goat light soup isnt as great though, needs some improvement. But in all, Ill give this branch a 5 star.
Good service, nicely decorated, excellent range of local foods on offer. Just misses the mark on authentic taste.
Are you looking for a place were you can enjoy authentic Ghanaian cuisine. Then The Chop Bar is just the place.Dine in this restaurant with a modern and inviting atmosphere and you will go back for seconds ;)
The most palatable African tastes. One of my favorite places in Ghana. The days of having to endure unsanitary conditions in order to have a bite at local food is over for my friends and I. Definitely worth a stop over
