The Chandler Steakhouse in Springfield

I was there on October 16th for my birthday, for the 1st time visiting your restaurant and casino. The chef Let a prime ribs leave his kitchen it was supposed to be medium and it was Brown like it sat under a light keeping warm for hours. Very disappointing. Considering our family loves steakhouses. Mac and cheese truffle was cold. There was very little if any cheese. Disappointing.

We had steak and both were delicious! The restaurant is very cozy. The booths are large and elegant! Its worth a trip to eat there!

First night of our honeymoon, we were seated at 645 and didnt get our meals until 845, one of the worst experiences Ive ever had. Ive been to 111 and got better food,better service, for less money. This place was over rated and horribly expensive. The apologized for the 2 hour wait by giving us free dessert which was not good, and comping our appetizers. Yet it still cost almost 300$. Never again. Dont waste your money. Drive to worcester go to 111.

The ribeye was delicious and the atmosphere and service were great. However, I cannot recommend this restaurant because their other food was atrocious. Their scallops were WAY overcooked and served with raw slices of zucchini and a terrible sauce (thankfully on the side). Their heirloom tomato salad does not contain heirloom varieties (they were more like what you would see at a supermarket in Februaryand they were served cold. Tomatoes should never be refrigerated. Their mushroom side dish had nice mushrooms but it was barely cooked and served cold. I almost think they poured warm sauce over uncooked mushrooms and called it a day. If all you want is to drop $200 (or morefor two people on steak, it might work for you, but we wont be back.

Very nice experience for our first time. Staff was friendly and our server Alex was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and friendly.

If I could leave .5 I would. We came in, no reservation, so we were seated in bar area (no big deal for us(20+ seats available at arrival and leaving in seated dining room area). Hostess (white/blonde hairprobably the RUDEST hostess I have ever encountered in all my restaurant experiences around the world. Ordered oysters, sourdough bread (appetizers), bone in rib eye, scallops and asparagus for entree. Rib eye was good, correct and asked for temp, poached asparagus.... Got better from a can (sauce was good though). As for the scallops.... Burnt on one side and white on the under side. So tough the taste was horrendous! I have NEVER spit anything out at a table, much less in public, but this was NOT going down! I cant recommend enough that anyone avoid this place and save the money for something else.

Recently changed the menu and the food was disgusting. Steak tar tar was brown/grey they are serving items on fried rice hard as a rock. The Manhattan had too much vermouth. Cheese was not properly melted on the French onion soup, overall horrible for $189. I will never return. Go to the federal in agawam if you want a proper meal.

I dined with a group in the private room. My food was delicious and the service was terrific.

The greeter/ hostess stand ladies couldve had more of a welcoming personality but lacked on the whole greeting. Ambiance and decor felt very romantic in this setting. Velvety oval round booth style seating great for couples or groups dining together. Table style seating for larger parties and a private room available to rent for special occasions. New menu changeover as of Saturday. For cocktails I started with Falling For Fizz that was bubbly with pear and ended with an Espresso Martini with fresh brewed espresso made dark. I had a Berry & Heirloom tomato salad and for my entrée the Blackened Scallops that were both very delicious! Prices are on the higher side as its a steakhouse but this is fine dining with quality food. Would definitely come back.

Lemon potatoes had no lemon, little flavor. Cocktail was good. Servers were very nice and attentive. Steak was ok..we split the NY Strip-medium I think. I prefer a ribeye medium rare so Ill have to go back and order that. Prices are definitely too high but the ambiance and retro steakhouse decor let you know in advance this is an expensive restaurant. Ill go back to give it another try w the ribeye and then well have a definitive assessment 😊

Sonya was an amazing server. The oysters, filet, truffle Mac and crème brûlée were all incredible. We really enjoyed our experience tonight for my husbands birthday! Will definitely return.

Excellent meal, wine, and excellent service. Highly recommend. If you are going to a show across the street, give yourself time to truly enjoy. This is not a place to hurry through.

Decided to go out with my older brother from the service to treat him to a fine dinner . Entered a empty restaurant and was told there was no stop available unless made a reservation and bar stuff was not helpful nor welcoming. Very bad for a place that claims to be a great dinning experience . Do not recommend if your had any other race or cultural other than white older men and women .

Stay away, far far away! I am recovering from food poisoning from Saturday night. I had the Monk fish, however it should be called skunk fish. It was a ball of some mysterious seafood snot like substance that smelled like a dirty sock. Against my better judgment, I took a bite, which was enough to provide me a face to face visit with Montezuma whereupon revenge was taken upon my poor soul within hours. Gratefully, the waitress exercised the sympathy needed to expel this dish from the bill. Unfortunately, the truffle mac and cheese also introduced me to a new cheese sauce experience reminiscent of dirty dishwater. I was warned if the Ruth’s Chris pricing for Dennys quality In the future, I will avoid this place like the plague and go to Dennys instead, or US Fried Chicken on Main St….. just awful….

I found that this restaurant exceeded my expectations. A lovely wine list, excellent appetizers and the stakes were amazing. I also found that service was excellent. Came for an anniversary dinner. They were aware of this. Was set aside to accommodate a larger party. Our meals took over two hours! Completely unacceptable. After complaining our food did arrive. Wasn’t a good experience.

The dinner started with being seated at a high top table, where we all found ourselves sliding off the seats. Had to be moved. Found it pretty strange, that 4 adults were asked for ID to order cocktails, however it got a lot worse. The appetizer sushi had bad odor, So after a few fairly decent other appetizers, we await on our enteras for another hour , they arrive with cold steaks, a potato dish that looks like burnt sausages, and has no great taste at all, however I had to swallow them down, since they had to redo the steak for another half hour. At which point I no longer wanted the steak. Ultimately my cousin asked to use a promotional credit to apply to the bill, to which, a manager comes to sit and tell us a long unwanted walkthrough concerning how the credit may not be officially warranted due to the new reward system. He had no legitimate reason to give such a time consuming riff raft other than his intention to discredit the legitimacy of the promotion. On a scale from 1 to 10, this dinner was trash.

The Chandler Steakhouse was awesome!we enjoyed the beef tenderloin,scallops,salad and two bottles of wine.The service by our waitress Laurie was indeed top notch.she aims to please!! would definately visit again and would recommend this place for a good night out.

The Chandler was one of the best steakhouses Ive ever been to, on par with the best in Chicago and Las Vegas. They did a phenomenal job with the ambiance, it never once felt like we were in a casino, or Springfield for that matter. The lobster cake was fantastic with the perfect amount of char; the NY strip was one of the best Ive had. I cant recommend this enough for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. I cant wait to return.

We came in to celebrate Christmas dinner. We spend a lot of time in the casino & at the hotel and have heard great things about the restaurant. Our server was very nice, but didn’t check on us. We definitely wanted more drinks, we only had one and dessert. Our meal was mediocre. The trio of sauces for the $60 filet was terrible. I’ve literally had better at a chain restaurant. We both ordered the baked potato, it was great but we could have been informed that they are huge and could have spilt it and ordered another side instead we both ate half of the potato & threw the rest out. The atmosphere was very pretty and clean, but the service and food for the price should have been much better. Very disappointed and will not return. Would have liked to ask for a refund, but we only saw our waitress twice. Lots of other good restaurants in the area, avoid this one!

Grossly overpriced, 3rd rate service, and for being a place that bills itself as a steak house...its barely any better than Outback in Enfield. Michael Jordans at Mohegan is a good deal better. So is Flemings in West Hartford. Save your money and go elsewhere.

The atmosphere was great and the service staff was top notch, professional and friendly. A little disappointed in the food. Steak had a very very heavy char, and the onion soup was a little bland. Mac and cheese and carrot sides were very good as was the oysters.

Great service and drinks cannot make up for an uninspired and poorly executed menu.The onion soup was entirely flavorless, at 16 bucks a crock I would have been happier with Lipton than the watery onion mash we received.Steaks were average, my strip would have been a great 30 dollar entree but for 58 bucks it was seriously underwhelming.We only had the bearnaise sauce, but it was also lacking in flavor and consistency, it ran off the meat like it was scared of possibly imparting some richness on its way out.The sides were an unmitigated disaster, creamed spinach was just wilted leaves with a little milk splashed in, and the puréed potatoes were unseasoned and inedible.Across the board there was a lack of flavor, the ingredients seemed good enough but the execution is about as poor as I could imagine given the starting point.Whoever the chef is there needs to visit some competitors and take notes, if they want to survive as a high end steakhouse then they can’t be serving fare that is shown up by the Outback.The service was great, and the bartender is on the next level, the atmosphere was good, and I really want this place to succeed so I can have a good local steakhouse.But as it is now, this ain’t it, chief.

Literally like 5 things on the menu and everything’s is like $80. Who do they think they are? God? Jesus? I don’t think so. Also, who even is Chandler? I didn’t see him at the restaurant. You go to a place called Chandler’s Steakhouse you atleast expect to meet the guy. The booths are nice though. I would go here again for sure, I just hope that Chandler shows up next time. $60 steak sign me up!

Awesome location in the MGM Springfield. For a steakhouse, the prices were fairly reasonable. For a 18oz ribeye I expected to pay well over 70 dollars but it was barely 60 dollars. All the items were rich in flavor and everything came out great. The only criticism would be the truffle Mac and cheese. The noodles were overcooked and it lacked a little seasoning. Overall, I loved the lighting and helpfulness of the staff. Definitely looking to dine again there in the future.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. I wish I could give more stars because the food was exceptional. We ordered the garlic shrimp for appetizer, I had the salmon and my husband had the 7 oz steak with a blue cheese crust. We ordered the truffle Mac and cheese on the side along with 3 types of sauces for the steak. We are full and satisfied.

Got there Saturday at 5 upon opening. There was a 45 min wait based on staffing shortages most likely. We sat at the bar instead. The bartender waitress was phenomenal. The caramelized scallops were not on the same caliber. This place has always been stellar. Will certainly be back.

My honey and I love to come to the Chandler for date night and are never disappointed. Great atmosphere and good service. Last night, we had Amber and Theresa as our servers. They were friendly and attentive, making our experience a lovely one. Thanks ladies and thank you Chandler Steakhouse for another awesome dinner!

By best definition this is a fake fancy restaurant. The drinks were incredibly strong and very tasty which was pretty much where it ends. The food was pretty good but for its price point I expected much better. Gordon would not be impressed. Staff were good but food took quite a while.

I finally get to try chandlers !This place is either , packed , closed or just closed due to pandemic .Food was amazing !Service was excellent! They’re very attentive and always making sure you have everything you need . Very clean . Back Dining area is very nice and spacious ! Pricey but it’s all worth it !Located inside MGM casino . Next time you are in town , give CHANDLERS a try ! 👍🏽

Atmosphere is nice and service was good. Food was very terrible. We all had steaks and they were tougher than the worst steak cuts Ive ever had in my life You would expect nice tender steaks at $56-58 each. Definitely not worth it

I have been to multiple steak house with the same type of price range as Chandler. And I was expecting a great quality meal and service. But my experience here wasnt good. When I tasted them, they were mediocre and the food was oversalted. And the price is way too expensive for the food they are serving. The waitress had a little attitude and also was not properly taking care of our table. I was pouring myself and others in the table waters and I have to call her to take away the finished food because she barely comes back to check on our table. This is truly embarrassing experience especially I had company. I said to the waitress that I did not like this food because it is oversalted food and wasnt taste good. The waitress then called the manager and I said the same thing. The manager asked if I wanted a different dish but honestly after tasting the food I didnt think it was worth ordering or giving them another chance because my overall experience wasnt good and the other food tasted mediocre to me. When I checked my bill, the oversalted food was added to my bill so I have to speak to them about it. Not a pleasant experience. will not come back here.

Went for the third time last night.2 out 3 steaks had to go back because they were under, while i sat there in front in the kitchen i saw at least 5 more come back as well.For $60 for filets, you would think they would re-cook the whole meal. No they leave the sides on the table, take 10 minutes to bring the steaks back, the same ones that were originally cooked, albiet dried out and not very good at that point.Then our friends pay cash, and the server, never offered them change, keeping a huge tip.The potato puree was bland and lacked flavor of any kind. My steak was good, but not any better than any local steakhouse, and much more expensive.Strike 3.

FANTASTIC SERVICE! Every staff member at chandler gave the place a comfortable vibe. My server was ISLA and she did a great job. She always got my orders correct and was enthusiastic the whole time. I highly recommend chandler steakhouse for the service and the great food. I love the steak, biggest steak I’ve ever had ever. I will definitely come again with friends.

We located to western Massachusetts about 10 years ago from Michigan and in all those years, we have struggled to find a great, juicy cut of steak like we are used to back home. When our 15 year anniversary came up this year, we decided to book a room at MGM and give The Chandler Steakhouse a try. We were very hesitant about trying it because of all of the negative Google reviews, but we took a chance a made a reservation. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! The service was incredible! On the table, they left us a handwritten note congratulating us on our anniversary and gave us free glasses of sparkling wine. Our server, Craig, was very knowledgable about the menu and attentive to our needs. For starters, we ordered the Lobster Bisque and Mixed Field Greens salad. The Bisque was AMAZING! It might be the best lobster bisque Ive ever had. It was creamy, but not overwhelmingly and had actual, fresh chunks of seafood in it (some places puree everything in their bisques). For our meal, we both ordered the 7oz. Tenderloin of Beef, Herb Roasted Mushrooms, and Blistered Asparagus. The steak was also AMAZING! The cut of beef was so smooth and juicy and cooked to perfection. It went down like butter! They brought us a free extra side of au jus to dip it in, but it didnt even really need it. The mushrooms were very good and went nicely with the steak. Our only complaint, and its minor, is the asparagus was slightly undercooked and we probably wouldnt order that again. The staff at the Chandler went out of their way to make our anniversary special and it was a GREAT dining experience. I cant compliment the steak enough and we are so excited to finally have a great steak place in the area. We cant wait to bring our out-of-town family here when they come for a visit!

Beautiful restaurant. And thats about it. First girl that came to our table was great then downhill from there. Service was rushed and it wasnt busy. Lobster cake was cold. Had a few apps that were ok. This is MGMs steak house and the steak was far from quality. We had the bone in rib eye. Looked good but was probably the worst steak ive ever had at a restaurant. Was very chewy and dry and it was oscared. Also let the manager know on our way out and it appeared he has heard this before. Bad experience all the way around. Never again

It was good, should have been great!Service and ambiance were great, the menu was well described and with good selections for a steakhouse. The wine list was great and offered something for everyone.The meals lacked the finesse that their pricing should demand, my steak was cooked perfectly but the side of fries were undercooked and cold. My wifes scallops were well prepared but cold and her side of asparagus was covered by a layer of grated cheese that totally took away from the flavor.Here is my problem, at $370 per couple before tip, this should have been an experience and it simply wasnt. The meal was good but could have been had for less than half of that price elsewhere in the other many good restaurants in the area. This was for 2 people with one cocktail each, a bottle of wine and no dessert.It was good, should have been great, shame that it wasnt. This area can use a destination restaurant but this isnt it.

I must say after reading all the reviews i was leery on trying this place. I have had a good experience here the last 4 times Ive went. Normally sit at the bar or lounge area. Ive tried 3 different steaks and they remind me of the other steak places like Capital grill and such. Side prices are a little high and not to great but not horrible. Had the carrot and they were under cooked, Fries are ok but huge helping and the seasoning was gross couldnt finish. Potato puree is hard to eat as it too soupy and runs off everything. Steaks were great and my guest said the Lobster was good. Ill keep coming back for the steak!

We sat at the bar for a low key dinner on a late Saturday night. Thankfully, this restaurant was the only redeeming thing at this MGM property. Food was fantastic, bartenders were as skilled as they were friendly. Don’t come to the MGM to stay in the hotel, but if you happen to be here I’d definitely recommend this place for a quality dinner or casual cocktails.

My son and I had a wonderful birthday dinner. We were warmly welcomed by the hostesses, the wait staff and others. The steaks were lightly seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare. He had the truffle macaroni and cheese and I had the wild mushrooms and a baked potato for side dishes. the portions were extremely generous and we both had enough for lunch for the next day. I was also very impressed with the staff because I was looking for a certain type of wine and when I shared that I couldnt find on their list they double checked and found something that was even better than I expected. we had such a wonderful time that I am sending my oldest daughter there with her husband for their first anniversary in October.

Horrible meal at MGM Last Night... Weve been there several times for a nice dinner. They substituted their $56 dollar 20 OZ DRY AGED RIB EYE with a 7 dollar steak from Big Y and now charge $58 for it. From the point that the waitress showed up at our table one issue after another. The manager came by to tell me the reason my steak sucked and was well done was that I didnt ask for a center cut. Unbeknownst to me there is a secret code you need to tell the cook if you want a mediocre steak for 58 dollars. The Place was awesome when it first opened and we were thrilled to have a nice place to go. Complete waste of $260 dollars, but never again, go to Northampton or West Hartford.

Where do I begin...Sadly, this place will not last without an overhaul.The good: atmosphere is fantastic. Plush and elegant, comfortable seating. Sal, our waiter, was the lone bright spot of the rest of the experience.The bad: first off, they lie to you and tell you the steak is "dry aged". If by dry aged they mean they aged it for one day in the fridge, I guess I would believe that. For $54, I completely wasted my money. Ordered medium rare, like any good NY Strip should be. First steak came out was a gray .5" high steak that looked like it came from the local grocery store. Well done - sent it back. Replacement came back looking like a true NY strip, and was underdone, basically rare. At this point Im starving so I decide to just keep it. No seasoning to speak of, I had to empty the salt and pepper shaker onto the steak to give it any flavor. Chews like shoe leather.The "add-on" special was described as scallops in a cheesey cream sauce. Perfect compliment for my steak, I think. Nope. Two dry scallops came clumsily sitting atop the steak. For $18 dollars I got a couple scallops. No thanks.$300 for a 2 person dinner that mostly sucked. Im getting annoyed just thinking about it, so Ill stop there.Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Great food, but very expensive. Expect to spend at least $100 per person. Try to get a booth if possible - their seats are red velvet and are aesthetically pleasing. This was the first time that a restaurants servers came to check up on us a bit too much and interrupted the conversation some. No biggie, just a small hiccup that night. They were spot-on with the refills though.

We dined her tonight after the comedy show and everthing was great! When we walked in the hostess was accommodating and very sweet. Arlene and her partner were really beyond great!! They both treated all of us like VIPs and were extremely knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Everything was just perfect!I read the other reviews and your not only paying for the food youre also paying for the service, atmosphere, the whole experience.If your afraid to spend money go somewhere you can afford. The food and drinks were fantastic along with the presentations and creativity. The four of us had a great time with great food and perfect service! Thanks Arlene and staff!!

Our first time at The Chandler was, without a doubt, the best dining experience we have had ever. Everyone was so very pleasant!! Our waiter, Jason, was excellent as well as the other servers also. The food was done to perfection. We will definitely make a return there the next time were in Springfield.

This was first time at this restaurant at the MGM; after losing our money quickly at the casino. We were greeted at the door and the staff was pleasant. I went with a steak, of course, and ordered a few sides. The food was expensive, but worth it. The steak was superb. To be honest, it had to have been the best steak I have had in a while. The sides were pricey, but again, worth every penny. The way I see it is, I am in a casino, food will be expensive.I highly recommend if you are in the area or looking for a great meal and dont care about price.

Not great. The atmosphere is nice, wait staff was friendly, but I can see why the restaurant was relatively empty on a Saturday night. After we sat down we waited 15 minutes before we were approached with menus. Food took quite a while to come out and everything was generally slow. Steaks were okay, 2 were overdone to the point that they had a burnt crust on the outside, and 1 was okay, but definitely not worth $58 for a ribeye, Ive had way better elsewhere for a lot less money. A la carte sides can be fine, but $12 for a plain baked potato? in Springfield!? Doesnt seem sustainable. I wont be going back, unfortunately. For big city prices you expect big city service and better quality food.

Had a great meal at The Chandler this Evening. We were served by Salvatore and he was EXCELLENT! Very attentive and friendly. He made a delicious Ceasar Salad for us table side. I ordered the 20 oz Rib Eye and I can honestly say one of the tastiest steaks I ever had. No room for dessert. Enjoyed a couple of nice cocktails with the meal. The ambiance was aligned with other great steak houses. The circular booths are comfortable. Without question we will return. Thanks again Salvatore!

We had a very nice birthday experience. The staff even prepared and signed a birthday card. Food was expensive, but tasty. Do not go for dinner unless youre prepared to spend roughly $75 per person, including drinks, app and dinner. Wait staff was attentive and made sure to promptly refill drinks. The best dirty martini Ive ever tasted, no exaggeration. Food was cooked properly and they even cut my prime rib right in front of me! A la carte sides. Carrots were a little undercooked but still edible. Would go back for another special occasion. Thank you!

The food was horrible! It tasted as if the lid on the salt shaker fell off and they dumped every piece of salt Onto my crab cake. My wife had the sole and felt the same way. My beef was not bad nor good about the quality I expect from a chain restaurant like chili’s. We waited entirely to long for everything to include water and menus. Our drinks were always empty and we went on a Wednesday night, they were not busy and had an abundance of staff. The only nice thing I can say is that the hostesses were very friendly.
