30 West St, Harrow HA1 3EF, Wete
Classic Victorian pub with open fires, wooden floors, original lamps, wall clocks and fittings.
Service was very fast and the food was amazing! Friendly staff x
Great choice of Fullers ales. Food available too. Latest visit just as good, plus live music, every last Wednesday of the month.
On the last Wed of every month they have their "acoustic sessions". If you like live music, youll love this.
Great pub, tucked away in Harrow. Sat in their garden to the rear of the pub. Very relaxing place to visit. Food looked great, but didnt get to try any this time
Delicious food in a beautiful location. A good hidden garden. A small but tasty and effective menu.
We enjoyed our mealFish and chips good value.I was disappointed with mozzarella salad. Not a lot of substance for the price.Unfortunately it seems a trend in many venues.
Fantastic pub with hidden upstairs seating. Really kind and friendly staff. Drinks are good. Im definitely going back for food. Great to go early in the week before it get packed. Good for friends and family to enjoy. Great ambience and decor.
This is a lovely social place, keeping a traditional feel of an English pub and adding a modern Mediterranean style of an outdoor space. Their fish and chips came highly recommended, which was what I had and it deserves a thumbs up. Dont forget to order an apple crumble and coffee for desert!
The perfect pub! What an undiscovered (by megem. Will be back.
Great service that is reasonably priced. Call their UK office number rather than the ones on website as the price quoted its much cheaper. They tell you where your taxi is located, the license plate number and they know who you are from your phone number ..
Very dog friendly pub with the best Sunday roast and extremely friendly staff.
As good as I remember it pre-2007 when we lived nearby. Would still be my favourite. Good beer selection, friendly staff, fantastic beer garden for 2 weary travellers
Great little pub with friendly excellent staff and yummy food.
Great place and amazing food, be quick to order and book and popular dishes run out. Great service but need mabey bit more staff.
Lovely pub tucked away, nice and peaceful very nice outdoor/upstairs terrace with heated seating areas.Food was nice, potatoes not as advertised on the menu but still tasty. Prosecco arrived in a very small measure as seen in photo which was surprising. Staff were attentive most of the visit. Bruschetta had lovely fresh tomatoes but lacked olive oil. Overall a pleasant visit
Absolutely lovely place! Very well preserved traditional British pub near the Harrow School, located slightly off the main road but at a really quite spot. We visited Monday afternoon lunch and loved the sandwiches and salads. Good variety for vegetarians too. They have many evening entertainment options so a good place to visit overall..
Very nice place to go for food great beer garden tucked away around the back friendly staff
Great food, nice staff, and the pub is dog friendly
Really nice place with a cosy restaurant, tasty well presented food, and great service too.
Easily my favourite pub in Harrow! Has a gorgeous beer garden, super super friendly staff, and a delicious menu 😋 Will definitely be returning soon!! (& theyre dog friendly 😍)
Great pub, lovely atmosphere. Good food and drinks. New garden terrace was lovely
Looks great, we only stopped for a quick drink, but will defo be back to try the food too!
A wonderful pub full of character and atmosphere. The team were just fantastic offering to prepare a special combination of food without prior notice - just 10 out of 10. Would definitely return when next in that neck of the woods. Thank you to all staff- front of house and behind the scenes in the kitchen world. Mim
Staff were a bit off because booking system was unclear in confirmation email food was good but were seated with young child in the middle of dining area felt very uncomfortable
Starter was really nice, but roast was a let down, Chicken was so dry i couldnt eat it and no crisp to the potatoes. The vegan Yorkshire pudding given as normal had run out wasnt amazing.
Fantastic pub and great tasting food. Lovely staff. Great portions of food. Good value of money. Especially children meals
Havent been for a couple of years thanks to the world tilting on its axis, and visited last week with a buddy. Good food, good ale, and a good few hours catching up somewhere warm and cozy given whatever named storm was raging outside.Ps - and its a lovely queer-friendly enclave in the middle of slightly conservative suburbia. Thank you.
Amazing service and location! Ive been there twice in two days and just loved it. The waitress was so friendly and lovely, surely will be back ;)
A Lovely Meal here at the Castle Today... Very Tasty And well presented... Recommended for Lunch and I DEFINITELY advise a Reservation as its Very Popular.... Thank you 😊...
Great meal tonight ! Great service from all that we came in contact with ! My husband had the burger and it has majorly improved, Ill be ordering it next time ! Fish pie for me which was delicious. Childrens menu was healthy and had a good variety, the portion was more than enough ! Love this pub.
Excellent pub, great beer selection, good food choice and service. Complete with a nice garden for the summer months. Everything you want from a pub
The venue is great but the drinks are expensive. Fullers pubs, selling fullers pride - their own, basic, flagship beer on pump and yet its £5. Seating choice is varied and all very agreeable.
Still one of the finest pubs in Harrow! The Norfolk Chicken Supreme with truffle mash, wild mushroom and pea fricassee was really delicious. Great service for a pub.
Four of us visited on a cold Monday lunchtime. Although relatively quiet at this time, we felt very welcome in this fine old pub, and enjoyed a delicious meal washed down with well kept Fullers ales. Highly recommended.
Mainly ales but there are few craft beer taps. Great food serving in dedicated dining area. There is nice garden area up the hill too.
Lovely intimate pub here. Great atmosphere and staff are really professional and Friendly. Ann was on point since our booking and food was really delicious!
Great afternoon pub lunch with the family. Friendly and polite service, good food and great drinks.
Beautiful pub that takes you back in time; Victorian building and interiors in a stunning part of Harrow. Was our first visit and it was a wonder as to why we hadn’t visited prior! Will definitely be making this a regular spot. Great options for all, including vegetarians and vegans. Went for the vegan Sunday roast; nut roasts can be unimpressive and boring usually but this one was amazing! Food is fresh so not like your average pub meal and was thoroughly pleased with the beverages available too, opted for the Cornish Orchards Hedgerow. Salted Caramel dessert was also great. Great service, friendly and attentive. Little gem in the heart of Harrow-on-the-Hill.
A big disappointment, a tatty untidy garden, food was lukewarm and overcooked. The tartar sauce was the best bit of dinner, even the dog wouldnt eat a bit of fish. Swerve here, go down or up the hill for better.
Good pub with a good selection of beers, ciders and ales on tap.Good is great, though a tad pricey - is not cheap pub grub, but its great quality. Staff are friendly, they allow dogs and they have a lovely roof garden.Parking is terrible though I dont think they have much control over that!
The restaurant was great. The service was wonderful. The only reason that I gave four not five stars was because the food, and I had a Sunday roast took a while to arrive, it tasted great but, just took to long to arrive and left me starving. Even though it was busy I think it should have arrived quicker. But overall it was a great meal. Drinks came quickly. The service was some of the best service I have ever received. I arrived 30mins late and they still found us a table with a smile. The man who served us was very kind and gave one of us a extra ice cream scoop for free.Over all, I highly recommend.
Stop by for a quick bite on the way to Wembley this evening following a recommendation from a friend. Had the special of pan fried lamb. Most enjoyable! Will definitely swing by next time Im in the area.
We sat outside and ordered food. Typical pub fare. Reasonably priced and arrived quickly. The haddock was a generous sized portion. Bar and waiting staff both very nice. Would eat there again. Dog friendly place, several other patrons also had their pooches.
Beer battered tempura prawns @ £7.50! Really! Because we had this as part of a deal, we simply got a refund for the difference (£4.50).That after I’d already sent my burger back for having RAW onions, which I had specifically ordered without. [they dealt with that quickly by “changing the bottom 1/2 of the bun”!].... if Gouda is the answer in a burger, then at least put enough in to taste too.
Food was decent. Staff were friendly. Shane about the lies though. Advertise a deal for the burger, which is apparently only available from 5pm, despite no notice about that on the boards advertising the deal.
Christmas Party menu, 3 course meal for £ 31.95, main course was advertised as Chestnut crusted Chalk Stream trout supreme, potato & Welsh leek cake, charred leek & cranberry salsa in fact I received the following:Trout cover with something soggy and greasy, burned (charredpotato cake (cant confirm whether leak was present), charred and extremely chewy spring onion (not edibleand to my absolute surprise copious amount of cranberry sauce! which was available on the table for everyone to share anyway. Food appalling but very friendly pub.
Cozy and nice.Friendly staff, good selection of wine and cider.I haven’t tried the food but it does smell nice.It feels like another world in Harrow on the hill
I’m so sad to give only two stars as it’s such a lovely pub with such pleasant staff but the food just wasn’t up to scratch. We started with salt and chilli squid that was bland and soggy and sea bass ceviche that was as bitter as a frustrated old geography teacher (Its supposed to be tart but this was way over the top). Neither any good.I then had the mackerel Niçoise which was oh so bony and salty whereas my friend had the fish and chips which was much better. (I just knew I should have gone for the game fa**ots ;)(I have to asterisk this otherwise google thinks I’m swearing. I hope it’s a computer rather than some little dweeb who has never left California never mind the USA. Just in case it’s the latter, they are also a food stuff in the UK as well as a derogatory term for homosexuals(If you don’t believe me, see below menu shot). Then dessert was Baileys bread and butter pudding which just tasted of fat and sugar and was completely soggy.Good coffee though and like I said lovely staff in very pleasant surroundings. Great place for a pleasant pint or two. I’d skip dinner though.
We had a great Sunday lunch at The Castle. I had an excellent roast lamb that came with a variety of tasty vegetables and, of course, Yorkshire pudding.Washed down with a pint of London Pride - couldnt be better!
Great secluded bar tucked away in Harrow. Good ambience, friendly staff, wide selection of beer. And there are seats outdoors and on the roof
