Falafel was amazing, I will go for that again. Calamary was a little bit salty for my taste. The service was very nice.

After a 1:15 hour waiting, they brought the plates to the table beside us even that they arrived 50 minutes after us. They didn’t charge us for 1 beer and a sprite, but no apologies. Awful experience.

Absolutely the best staff in the world, my daughter had an accident outside The Castle and the Blue Door. The staff rushed over and attended to her with great care. While we sat and let the swelling go down from her leg, my daughter and I had coffee and juice and the staff made sure she was as comfortable as possible. We will be forever grateful. If you want to eat in a place where you are not just a number, but a person, this is exactly the place for you.

An amaizing experience enhanced by the quality of food, service and staffs friendliness alongside with great choice of brews. This was truly one of the great experience of dining at the pub and also having to interact with such friendly and welcoming team. I would love to return as soon as possible and definitely bring along my friends for a stunning experience.

Lovely team here and a fairly modern selection of craft beer that’s regularly updated. Haven’t had the food but it looks great!

Went in for a drink but the guy at the bar seemed far more interested in looking at his phone and chatting to his friend and completely ignored me so I turned around and left.

Fantastic place, exceptional atmosphere. I went there alone snd met 3 wonderful random people, a dog; plus!!! The bar staff are exceptional! Norbert made me feel do comfortable asking if Id like a last drink, I asked him so many drunken questions, he answered every one with a smile. Joey watched my drink whilst I ran out to collect my bag and the lovely security guard agreed. Such a polite security guard whilst making you feel safe because his eyes are everywhere@And Leon the supervisor is bery in tune with the running of things. Which, he obviously does very well since the staff act so happy and professionally.Highly recommended!Oh yeah....most importantly, the drinks are standardly priced!!! 😲🥳

While walking through Portobello Rd market, we were in the mood for fish and chips, so we venture into this pub, and we could not have chosen better. Super friendly staff, great food and tasty beer. A truly great experience, and highly recommended.

Most succulent sandwich I ever had. I usually prefer the prime cheese burger and add bacon but honestly, the balance between the horseradish sauce and the tobacco onions is just exquisite. Highly recommend it, plus on a side note, a sandwich and a pint for £11.5 thanks to their amazing deal.

Standard pub grub! Its doggy friendly and they were really nice in there. Food was clean and pretty good though nothing particularly special hence why I gave it four stars. Really nice location though and good ambience.

While on vacation with my hubby, having a beer in Portobello Market, I noticed an appetizing dish, meat or something, in someones plate, a table next to ours. I just couldnt contain myself and had to order! The best meal decision I ever took! Never had before a chicken cooked like the one at The Castle on Portobello Road! The juicy meat, the gravy, the side dish - exquisite! The food was so goood, that for the rest of our vacation we only went there to eat! We wanted to personally thank the Head Chef, Simona, who made sure that every day we tried something new, flavory, delicious. The Open Kitchen is a major plus, cause you can basically see how your dish is being prepared! The English Pub atmosphere, excellent customer service, amazing food, lovely, very talented Head Chef (Simona is a keeper!!!), these are our main reasons for which we will always come back here! Dont miss out this place, youll definitely have a wonderful gastronomic experience, full of flavors, tasteful food, accompanied by great atmosphere and excellent service!

The best Sunday Roast in PortobelloIt was a beautiful Sunday and we decided to go for a walk with the family. We stopped at The Castle pub for a beer and something to eat. I ordered a fish and chicken roast. A delicacy, very juicy and tasty. Fish was very crunchy and tasty. Thanks to the chef we will definitely be backI recommend with confidence!

We were looking for a place to eat on a Friday night and decided to try the Castle. The service was good, staff were friendly and the rump steak I had, was cooked to perfection. The bill was reasonable too. I can definitely say that Ill go there again.

Waited 30 minutes for order to be taken, and it was only taken because we had to go find someone. Then, after ordering our food, some of us got our food while the others in our group waited an hour and a half. The justification was that our plates were starters, but they were small plate and main course plates, not starters. There was hair on one of the plates as well! Overall this was a poor experience, we have watched three rounds of customers come in and out and get their food before us despite having been here for a total of approximately two hours. The flavor of the food was fine but the poor service outweighs that any day.

Didnt try the food but the only place on this 3 mile stretch that made me feel secure, kudos to the doorman for looking intimidating. Good prices too.EDIT: (From 5 star to 2 starI went to this pub the next day, feeling equally secure as the last visit and had my bag stolen inside the pub, the castle is not a name this pub deserves.

Super busy Saturday afternoon, hammering down with rain and they STILL found me and my girlfriend a tidy little table by the window for drinks. The table was rebooked but they still were only too happy to squeeze us in and have our custom, which is something seldom seen in these times. Ended up having multiple pints (boozy legendsand some bar snacks which were actually really very good indeed and very reasonably priced considering the boujee upmarket area. The staff were all absolutely sound too and even let us stay a lot longer than expected when the booking postponed. Would highly recommend for lunch, dinner, drinks or shnacks. I want to go back for the pie alone.

Long waiting. We had ordered fish and chips and burger. And it wasnt good. Burger was so dry and not tasty. Fish was servered witouth vegetables. And it was with full of oil. Not crispy. Just wet becouse of oil! asked about coffee. But staff told me "we are pub!". Then I asked about orange juice-then- "we have only coke". Horrible

We tried to have a nice lunch last Tuesday but everything started with not welcomming attitude. Place was empty but waitress was unpleasant to see us and follow us to the table with a judging look.Second thing. We found hair in our lasagna. Waitress blamed us and said "isnt that your hair?". Thankfully we got second lasagna, but (as you see in the picturewe found piece of ceramics. My partner went to manager, kindly saying "mistake happens, but not like this, please check cctv, we didnt put it on purpose" Managers answer shocked a little "i will definetelly do"... if you are not happy to see customers in your place, fine, we are definetelly not coming back due to welcoming, attitude and possible harm for our health. We just wanted nice lunch, instead we received "blame" feeling for choosing this restaurant.

Didnt have time to eat here but menu looked enticing. Good range of beers. Prompt service. Clean loos.

Very good food and good beer. But so so poor service. For food I give 4 stars (delicious and not greasy fish and chips and so tasty beer), but 0 stars for service (I waited for 15 minutes to get the menu; waited for 20 minutes for getting my order done; and 30 minutes to get my food on the tableso the result are 2 stars. It cannot be possible a table to my left give their order at the same time as mine and I get my food when they are almost done and because I asked for my food. It cannot be possible that a table at my right enter 45 minutes after me and get their food much before I get mine. Very dissapointing.

Nice pub located in Notting Hill, good place to have some beers or drinks and spend a time with friends. I have to say that the prices seemed quite high to me. The atmosphere is very good and you can drink outside if you want to. They have a good variety of beers.
