We had a wonderful stay at this B&B! Colleen is very welcoming and a wonderful host. She was more than kind to us and her accommodations were appreciated! I highly recommend this B&B!!

I (& the wife when she can comeALWAYS stay at the Carolina when we visit Helena. Colleen showers the property with love, attention, and resources. She is always attentive, and the breakfasts are always great. i have also met other great travelers when staying here. The Carolina should have a sixth star.

Beautiful victorian home decorated to perfection. Very comfortable beds! Would be a five* but the breakfast/coffee hours are incorrect on the website compared to what we were told when we arrived. Then breakfast was running even later than was told which would not have been an issue but we were under a time line to make a flight home that morning. Highly recommend staying at the Carolina if you are in Helena if not on a morning time line.

Couldnt have imagined a more delightful experience. Colleen welcomed us with a tour and information to help us find what we needed in town with the best places to try nearby. We wish we could have stayed longer, but next time we are in town I hope there is room for us!Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and made with lots of love. Rich yet smooth coffee, fresh fruit, fluffy eggs, and a vanilla marmalade glaze on our French toast. Plentiful, and divine!Truly felt at home. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, and wisdom with us. We enjoyed every moment!

Beautiful historic BnB, well appointed rooms all with private bathrooms. Colleen is an amazing hostess!

Everything was PERFECT! We celebrated my birthday here. It was 1920 Great Gatsby themed. The space was the perfect size for 30+ people to be indoors and the decor was amazing. Colleen is an amazing host! We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. My husband and I rented a room and stayed the night too. It was a comfortable spacious room with a clean and tidy bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was generous, obviously fresh, and truly delicious! I would recommend anyone stay here, and highly suggest considering the Carolina for an event or party. 10/10!

Lovely place, nice people, in beautiful Helena.The Carolina is close to downtown and restaurants. We liked On Broadway 7 minutes walk from the Carolina.We had the special room on the second floor of the house in the back, which was big and well-equipped.Breakfast was good, but after reading reviews prior to arriving, we expected more.

Colleen was booked; however, she gave us so many recommendations for the town and took time out to give us a tour of her quaint and charming B&b. She referred us across the street to the sanders house. She is a gem and her place is exquisite.

Colleen is an incredible hostess! The breakfast plates are always huge, fresh, and delish! We love staying at the Carolina when were in town. Its so close to the trails and anything you could want downtown. All within easy walking distance!

Cutest place I have ever stayed! The decoration was beautiful and the host was the sweetest! She was informative and so fun to talk to. The breakfast was also absolutely delicious!

Helena was founded as a gold camp during the rush in 1864. With one leisurely walk downtown, you can take in the vast history that the rock roads and Victorian architecture represents. With every step, you become entranced by the major historical events that have taken place over the last 150 years.Few buildings can embody all that Helena has to offer, but The Carolina does just that. The building stands over 100 years old and holds an important place in Helena’s history. Every brick tells a story, and you can be fortunate enough to experience each by staying in this immaculate royal palace. From the level of detail to the hospitality, you will not regret booking your next trip to this haven. The gold rush was the talk of the town in 1864 but ‘The Carolina Bed & Breakfast’ was discovering gold I didn’t know I was searching for in 2021.

Great visit very welcoming, no critique other than in would have preferred a comforter on the bed other than blankets, but thats just me never having slept with blankets. Host was lovely and the house had great character and look forward to me and my wife going again

This is one of the best places I have stayed at! It reminds me French 19th century style hotel. It is so peaceful and beautiful! One of the best memories from Helena

What an amazing magical place. So cozy and beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Anniversary room and it was splendid. The sleeping accommodations are comfortable and spacious. The environment makes you feel right at home. Colleen is so kind and generous. She sent us on the road with a plate of breakfast because we didnt have time to sit down and eat. :There are all these little things in the room that make your stay that much better. Little amenities that most wouldnt think of like a sewing kit and nail polish remover among so many other thoughtful items. You are mere walking distance away from great restaurants and shopping. We would and will stay there again! Definitely check this gem out. You will not be disappointed!

Rode in to Helena with no place to stay and was warmly welcomed here at a good rate and had a wonderful stay. Hope I can visit again.

My husband and I drove over from Great Falls just for the night. Our mini get away was great. The owner was very welcoming. This was our first time in a BNB vs a hotel, we will be back!

This is a fabulous Bed and Breakfast/Inn. Beautiful rooms walking distance from most anything. Very very nice place .

We loved it here. If you are looking for a grand old house with a little quirkiness, this is the place for you.As with any older home, we could hear the floors creak and the people in the hallway. So if you are a light sleeper earplugs might be good. On a positive note, all of the guests were very quiet and respectful. It was pretty quiet by 10pm. The room was so pretty and the bed was super comfortable. Our room (Annesetehad a large bathroom with a walk in shower, but no tub.We had breakfast around 7 am and it was great. The pancakes were to die for! There were also eggs, sausage links, and a bowl of fresh fruit. I wish I would have remembered to take a picture!

Beautiful place with a gracious host. We had our wedding here and will be coming back for years to come. Location is perfect for sight seeing and a short walk from downtown.

Clean, spacious room, excellent breakfast and great location. They were also wrapping up some exterior grounds upgrades that will really make the place pop.

We had a wonderful time at the Carolina and looking forward to returning for another trip.

This is my third trip to The Carolina, and I have thoroughly enjoyed this awesome lodging experience. There are so many secrets to explorer in this victorian mansion from top to bottom it is fun. The period decorated rooms make you feel like the guest of a wealthy Montana pioneer, and the hospitality that the staff extend complete the experience. From a romantic stay-cation to business in the Capitol this is my go-to choice.

This was one of the highlights of our trip across the US and Canada. The elegantly charming lodging and equally lovely host, Colleen, made this a memorable 2 day stay in the lovely city of Helena. We truly enjoyed Colleens attention to detail, the lovely gourmet breakfasts, and our interesting chats over wine in the evening. We highly recommend the Carolina.

Found on Internet and booked for two nights for Helena exploration, being from Bozeman. Lovely, well kept Victorian with tons of charm and ambiance. Engaging yet not obtrusive hostess with wonderful story to share. Thoughtful nutritional breakfast. Good hot coffee and cold fresh juice. State Capital a nice walk away. Reasonably priced and a good place to meet interesting travelers from local places and around the world. Dont hesitate to book a night or two here.

Its a beautiful house with unique rooms all decorated wonderfully. The breakfast was amazing and I would recommend staying at the Carolina Bed and Breakfast!

The food, location, and sleeping arrangements are great. The house is beautiful. Pat, the houses caretaker is a fantastic person and a fantastic cook.
