The place makes you forget where you are as the patio seating is completely surrounded by trees. Its such a lovely place with great service. Our food was good but the dessert was amazing. Cant wait to go here again.

I visited there a little over 3 months ago, the restaurant is nice, staff extremely helpful . i ordered curry chicken it was amazing, my husband ordered ( I believe it was the tagineit was good but the serving size was very disappointing, it was a leg and half of thigh, this particular dish is not worth the money

Visited here for their Sunday brunch buffet which runs from midday to 3pm. Tranquil and cool venue surrounded by fern trees giving the feel of being in a jungle. Easy background music playing whilst enjoying the buffet items. All tasted good but must admit that the temperature of the warm items was lacking in heat despite being served in hot trays. Popular place for Sunday brunch, but envious of my daughter and her family that were enjoying a bountious feast by comparison at a location in Dubai at the same time!🤣

Ambience is not bad at all. Service is reasonable. Food doesn’t meet the expectations. Meat was good by Gambian standards but a bit over cooked (medium instead of medium rare). Over usage of balsamico on the carpaccio. Captains fish was good. Dessert (fried icecreamwas nice. Overall a little bit overpriced for the quality and originality.

Great food and a great location. A must if you visit The Gambia.

The food was good... They didnt have what really took us there . The service was really slow and then we were rushed to make our order before the kitchen closes. Not a good look.

The food was fresh and flavorful for the most part. The walnut brownie with vanilla ice cream did not disappoint my sweet tooth. Service was fine.

Visited The Butchers Shop many times when I lived in Kololi. Have been eating here for many, many years. The food is superb and the owner Driss, is a very friendly host.

I love this place .the food is awesome delicious . Their pork chops is the best in the town the baobab juice is amazing. Plus the carrot cake ..the staffs are very professional and tidy. Plus the owner and his wife are very lovely people ..mr edris .I cant wait to visit home again to come over to your restaurant

Had dinner here with three adults and three kids if 7, 11 and 14. Looked very promising, yet the looks turned out to be deceiving. Worst oysters ever, worst steak ever (really, i’m not overreactingand the lamb was actually pork, we think. And the one thinking that was actually a chef himself some moons ago. Price was high (12.000 dalasi incl wine), quality very bad. You do the math.

I love this place. Used to go there almost every Sunday for their brunch buffet when I visited The Gambia. It’s an amazing selection of dishes for only D450. I highly recommend this place. I think there’s a lunch buffet on Wednesday but I prefer the Sunday buffet over that. The Wednesday buffet doesn’t have a lot of variety to choose from.

The Butcher’s Shop has to be one of the best Gambian restaurants, great standards and super amazing staff.Sunday brunch is the best place to be and you can never go wrong with Butcher’s dessert especially the homemade vanilla ice cream

Great staff and beautiful place but my breakfast orders were all bad. Had the burnt sugar french toast which was replaced with the microwaved frozen pancakes. Pancakes arent hard to make so I dont see the reason. My tea was with warm not hot water. It was just little things that added up

Tried the Sunday brunch which is great. Recommend it. Lots of tasty savourey plates and desserts. Juices and lemonade yummi. Really cosy restaurant with great atmosfere.Would have given 4 stars if it hadnt been for another night I tried the spinach cannelloni for dinner, that was disappointing. Not carefully prepared and there was way to much béchamel, too oily, and the little spinach tasted like the frozen chopped kind, not fresh produce, pasta was hard to find, to little of it, and unevenly cooked. Bread for the dish was dry, as if it had been cut hours earlier.Will go back for brunch and try other dishes to see if it was one off that cannelloni.

Amazing buffets at really affordable for locals, pretty much continental breakfast and finger foods plus great deserts and a very wonderful atmosphere the staff are just beautiful

Been here a few times and always good,This Time( Tuesday nightnot so good , steak was ok , cocktails were bad, just might have been an unlucky night ,Not put off and will come back.

My first time at Butchers was in 2012 with the angels (volunteersof Yes We Can Read and it was magical as it was filled with inspiration, I still remember how delicious the food was which keeps getting better each time I visit.I recently tried The Butchers Spicy Thai Steamed Captain fish. OMG! This was amazing and I love the way it was wrapped in banana leaves.You cant go wrong with the fillet pepper steak and the grilled chicken; the lime flavor is too much love.If you love chocolate you must try the chocolate malt pudding.Overall its a beautiful place with a great atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Dined with my wife and children tonight and have to say, not only was the food, wine, and service fantastic, but the ambience was perfect. The owner went out of his way to cook a prefect pear desert for my son, and assisted to recommend good wine with every course. Would highly recommend!

Great location and vibe, but everything else was below average. Meat was overcooked, portions small, prices way too high for such poor product. Sunday brunch has a bounty of options, but its also just another average buffet. Wifi is available though, with the purchase of a food or drink item. Overall, if you want an upscale, American/Euro option, try another place.

Nice western style "fancy restaurant", but the food isnt really worth the price in my opinion. The brunch wasnt great - just a lot of pasta salads. Dinner was better, but pretty overpriced.

One of my favorite restaurants in Banjul. Food is fantastic and an impressively extensive menu for a relatively small restaurant. Cocktails are also pretty good.

I have the best Oxtail for my lunch that ever have before and the friendly Owner told me even the dinner with music + candle light is even better! Looking forward to have.. . . . not only dinner, but most of my meal when visit Banjul because the price is reasonable as well.

A worthy holder of the tripadvisor title for the best restaurant in the Gambia. I went for the Sunday brunch (11.30 till 1500which was a very reasonably priced 403 Dalasi (£8.00ish). The food was excellent with a good range of savoury options as well as an array of puddings to satiate any sweet tooth.The decor is well thought out and the open veranda design gives an excellent feeling of openness and relaxation that makes for a superb atmosphere in which to wine (there is wine too!and dine with your friends. On the Sunday I went there was also an excellent live band playing Malian style music which only added to the atmosphere.All in all I would highly recommend the butchers!

The buffet. Absolutely incredible AND they take credit card which is pretty unheard of in this country. The food is out of this world if youre missing Western cuisine.

The best brunch buffet in Gambia. Hands down. Youll have something new every time. The owners are friendly and the local music is consistently perfect. We always splurge here when were hungover.

I have been a regular at The Butcher Shop from the first day the doors were opened, in 1993.Every visit is an adventure for my taste buds. As a restauranteur myself, I tend to be fussy with my food, so my first choice of where to eat, has always been The Butcher Shop.With the combination of delicious food, great ambience, and friendly management and staff I am hooked !

Great service. The food here that we ate was the best that we had whilst in The Gambia and we were staying at a local 5* hotel with restaurant. Lovely fresh food and the steak out of this world. The chef was a young Gambian woman. Cant recommend highly enough.
