Contemporary gastropub with wood-panelled walls, leather armchairs and a conservatory dining room.
An ok pub but slow service and pretty stupid method of identifying reserved tables, rolled up paper inside empty wine bottles saying reserved that you dont even notice, then you get asked to move to another table.
Expensive but not bad.
Friendly Youngs pub. Outside tables. Dog friendly.Always good beer here. Good food, but can be expensive. Wine not good value. An upstairs as well but not always open, and restaurant seats at the back. And outside seats.
Very good place to have a drink and a meal for dinner, lots of space. 👍
Nice pub on the west end. Good atmosphere and nice selection of drinks although food could be improved. Sunday roast was ok. I was expecting a bigger portion. Overall ok
200 year old English pub tucked away from High Street Kensington. Very quiet.
Amazing environment and great staff! Would definitely advise everyone to visit for food or just drinks since the atmosphere is very welcoming and bar staff are always happy to receive new clients and provide recommendations to those who have a hard time deciding like me!
Visited 04/10/22. Grim chain pub with loud thumping music, stinking of body odor. The one drink we had in there made us feel sick.
Been to this Pub couple of times now, staffs were very friendly and fun. They served Pub foods that are delicious. Ill definitely go back and to which I did.Back on Sunday, try their Sunday Roast. The presentation is fantastic. Lots of greens and a healthy portion of potatoes. Beef tasted good but couple of pieces a little tough. All that I washed them down with couple glasses of Chocolate Block red wine which recommended by the bartender. 😋
Ordered artichoke salad, not great, soggy and not much else to it. Wouldnt order again. Nice vibe.
Nice cozy place.. Great choice of beer
I had the chicken pie and my husband had the fried haddock and chips. Both were excellent!!
My wife and I had dinner and drinksBradly our server was excellent as was the foodHighly recommend
Heritage tomatoes on a sourdough bread is DIVINE. Also the bread in general is amazing. I think it’s the biggest pub in the area!
Nice pub. Friendly bar staff. Good pint of neck oil.
I made an advanced reservation for a group of 10 people, and found the service wasnt great. After 10 minutes of waiting to be attended to, we finally got showed to the dining section where the staff said sit anywhere. There were only small tables so I reminded them that theres 10 of us and they sort of shrugged and walked off. So we ended up having to push tables together ourselves to accommodate our advance booking. We were also disappointed with the food - it may have been the worst fish and chips Ive ever had. The batter was soggy and it tasted like a fish finger. I wouldnt return here.
Nice quite backstreet pub on a Sunday pm and a very friendly and professional barman. Will definitely pop in again 👍🏼
Came in with my family today, for roast dinner and we had a great experience! We had roast beef and half roast chicken, they were absolutely delicious! We loved Sue and will be coming back! She really made us feel special!
Thoroughly impressed by the burrata mozzarella and pesto on sourdough. Fish n chips were good as well.
I mean it’s alright and it’s probably one of the better pubs in the area; but Jesus I hope I never have to go to Kensington ever again in my life.
Awful work place, teo is horrible and nasty. Not a nice person.Chloe who was in on her day of was more helpful and kind. Max who was also lovely!! I can only hope people grow and evolve to be better. Many thanks to chloe and max!
Awesome skinny fries and aperol spritz.Quite quiet pub. Not so noisy music, not so much people.
Best Pub in Kensington! Great drinks & food. Also the people there are lovely.
The most amazing pub! Both Chloe and Teo are a dream. So lovely chatting with them. The Britannia have the best regulars in the whole neighbourhood. The food is the best pub food for a 10-mile radius - try the sausage and mash 🤌🏼
I stopped in this cosy little pub on a recent holiday to London and the food was delicious and the service was amazing! Our waitress Teo was very welcoming and knowledgeable and made sure we were well looked after and comfortable. Great food and good prices. Would definitely go again!
Had a few drinks and a bite here the other week, lovely staff, Bradley recommended some great nibbles. Next time were in the area we will drop in again and try the brownies. Great venue!
Having been to the venue a few times over the years, we decided to join friends for a celebratory Easter Sunday lunch - a booking made weeks in advance and one we were very much looking forward to. However, we couldn’t have been more disappointed - the service from what seemed to be the venue manager was obnoxiously rude and confrontational, to the point we had to asked why she’s in the service industry if she’s not enjoying her job. The person behind the bar, lovely as he was, didn’t have a clue. As for the food, it was mediocre, the soup way too salty and no gravy was served with the roasts; however, the portions were more than satisfactory. Let’s just say our total bill of around £230 for four was not worth the value of our experience. It is a shame, as they have just lost our custom.
A great pub with lots of character and friendly staff. Good selection of beers on tap. The quiet hall upstairs can be used for private events and even corporate occasions. One issue? The list of Prime Ministers on the cabinet is still at Theresa May ...
I came here with my tour group during my stay and the service was fast and efficient. The food was absolutely spectacular and we felt right at home. It was a great choice for us to start our time here in London. The sausage roll was immaculate and the dough they used was great. The chicken leak pie was good with lots of chicken and not too many leeks. Overall a great experience and very accommodating to groups large and small (but of course make a reservation before.)
Went there with friends last weekend. Super happy with the whole experience. Food was delicious, prices were okay for the area and Jimmy was absolutely brilliant and made our visit there very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.P.S. Very dog friendly which we also loved. Next time were bringing the pup too!
Great little pub recommended by the hotel we stayed at close by. Im glad they pointed us in this direction - not sure we wouldve ended up here otherwise.Tucked away off High Street, this place is a pretty solid spot for a meal. Friendly staff popped by the table (instead of ordering at the barand provided suggestions on choices. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious.Pricing was comparable for the area, yet somehow seemed like a bit of steal with the food quality. Overall, this is a pretty great little place.
Loved the atmosphere of this cool pub in Kensington. Definitely worth a visit!
A great pub with a lovely open fire. Staff are just excellent, the new manager is cheery and has a great sense of humour (old one was great tooSimon, always happy and a joy of positivity when you walk in. Food is delicious, menu changes all the time which I like. Great quiz on Sunday evenings too at 6pm.
This pub was one of my favourite in the area. Dog friendly and quite accommodating. Having said that, the last couple of visits, the service has gone down a bit. As for the food, the quality is good and good portions. Always love the fish and chips. Perhaps a few more choices with starters would be good.
A most delightful pub, just off Kensington High Street. Pleasant bubbly atmosphere.A lovely cold lager in my hand, great! Looks like four cask ales on offer, plenty of beer for everyone. It would seem this used to be the tap room for the Britannia Brewery. There is a good sized restaurant area to the rear and also a first floor bar accessed via a spiral staircase. A lovely comfortable and stylish place for a beer.
Great beef wellington, perfectly cooked, good service and Sunday night quiz
Great service at the bar, well looked after beers. The chips served were excellent and the surroundings were comfortable, pleasant and clean. For a pint and a snack this place couldnt be faulted.
We love the Britannia. Everyone is friendly. Its the best pub Sunday Roast weve found in London. Their fish and chips were really nice, and they have delicious appetizers with interesting variations on some of the classics,.e.g. the scotch egg usually has a some twist to the sausage or seasoning. The real ales on cask are always fresh and weve liked their selection of wines. Well worth a trip!
Excellent pub. Best fish and chips I have had in years. Good beer selection. They have a diffirent play on the mushy peas that had me asking for more when I normally push them aside.Very much recommended
Was here a few weeks back with the folks and have to say, was probably the best roast we’ve had in years. From the friendly staff to the unlimited Yorkshire’s.There’s not much more you could want for a Sunday spent with the family!
Yummy! Fabulous Pub. The food and service is outstanding. A must go place for locals as well as travelers. Thank you Sue for making us feel welcomed.
Already got half way through the chips in the picture. Amazing pub grub and atmosphere. Staff were very polite & accommodating. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend & visit if I’m ever in the Kensington area again.
Im demoting this place from 5* to 1. Im a huge fan of Youngs pubs and this boozer is technically my local, but I was deplorably ignored by the two female staff who selectively chose to serve customers who arrived at the bar after myself. Ended up like an abandoned tourist and went to the Churchill Arms instead for a pint and excellent smiling service. #neveragain #pub #pint #londonpub
Peaceful atmosphere and nice staff. Good choice for beers and cocktails. I will certainly go back again for a drink.
Neighbourhood pub typically with a lively atmosphere plenty of regular and craft beers on the menu. The staff are also fun, warm and serve up drinks with a smile.
Lovely place,good drinks,delicious food,so friendly people.
Its a beautiful pub nestled just off Kensington High Street. It has a great selection of food and drinks and they have two lovely private rooms upstairs that can be made into one. The dining area is also really nice with an open kitchen. I would highly recommend to escape the bustle of the high street and enjoy a quiet drink and some food.
Average at best. The bar and restaurant both seemed to be really overwhelmed despite the place not being full at all. The service in the restaurant was super slow, a poor table beside us waited for nearly 10 minutes while their food sat on the pass in full view of them. We ordered a ploughmans board (not worth it at alland two roasts (or flavoursome gumboots as I call themwhich were haphazard and tough. A friend recommended I come here, I so wanted it to be better than it was but, it wasnt meant to be. On the small upside my gin and tonic was magnificent...
10 of us had a xmas lunch here. Starter soups came out cold, we waited so long for our mains afterward. We were quite unhappy these things happened and received a bottle of prosecco. However it did dampen the mood to try and get their attention several times without anyone asking if we were OK.
Lovely and cosy pub. Lots of comfy seating with an our doors area for smokers, nice during the summer. Expensive for spirits, but apparently they serve 35ml instead of the usual 25ml. Keep an eye out for the photo Queen Mum pouring a pint!
