11-12 Walker's Ct, Soho, London W1F 0SD, Madaoua
Decadent, exclusive nightclub presenting theatrical cabaret and burlesque shows.
crazy place too let loose but defiantly not for the faint hearted!
Shocking attitude all around, totally prejudiced, place should be shut down, not a safe venue. Place needs shutting down!
No respect for good clients, me and my friend (2 good looking girls , modelswere left outside waiting for almost 2 hours to get in ,we been there 100 times and never had this problem till they hired an insecure C U N T with power issues im sure , to deal with the pp at the door , no big deal they will never see our money again
If u want to get in for sure ask for a table but it has a price … a part from that what a super fun night we had , perfect smalll club to socialize and more
Very rude staff and securityThey don’t know how to talk
The guys inside are extremely nice. i have a physical disability and as soon as i needed help the staff walked me to their office and helped me with a smile on their face. seems obvious but never happened in any other clubs in london. Very genuine and nice people
One of the doormen need to control the crowds outside the venue, alot of the customers are rude and wont move to let people walk through the avenue , as they are dressed up and got money they think they entitled to red carpet treatment but they not stars, I am, though, musician who ones his masters.
My wife and I were out on a Friday evening, we didnt really know where we were going in Soho and we decided to join a queue for a club which didnt appear to have a name on the door.My wife is pregnant at the moment, but still wanted to experience a night out in Soho.Once in the club the door staff whisked us up to the VIP area and treated us like royalty,We were put into a VIP box buy the doormen..I can honestly say I have never been to a place that I have been treated so well. It was surrealA huge thank you to all of the staff in the Box Theatre, you truly made our trip to Soho a memory that we will never forget. One to tell our twins when they are old enough.Thank you!!!
Security are so horrible, would not recommendIf I could give 0 I would
A lot my party and belongings on the night and the staff couldn’t have been kinder and more helpful. Walked me around the club until I found my party and helped me charge my phone. Loved the show and the atmosphere!
If you want to have a fun night just divert from this place. The Door supervisors here are horrendous just please save yourself and steer clear. This is first and LAST time that i will be attending this. Falsely accused of something that wasn’t true and i think it was racially motivated they pick and choose what POC should be allowed in, its like they count how many POC should be allowed in like we are school kids. I cant stress on how much the DOOR SUPERVISORS WERE ACTING.. Lol just save yourself man.
If I can give this venue 0 stars I would, the security is completely Utterly incompetent and don’t follow proper SIA door supervisor handbook protocol. The security wouldn’t even allow me to take picture of their badge. Being a door Supervisor myself, when a customer ask from your badge you show it, this is why security’s badge should be on be visible at all times. The lady manger of that night seem racially motivated not to let me especially in after confronting her about the reasons why I can’t go in
Security ok, they to control some people in the crowds outside, who are rude to people walking past
Crowded and noisy:the average age is 18-24 and the intellectual vibe as well.Consider that if you are looking for a place to have a nice chat this is not the one.The sound system was not the best considering drum and base and more base heavy genres.
Was robbed and scammed here left my jacket in cloakroom and came back to find it stolen on floor with everything inside airpods and expensive sunglasses stolen, awful club aggressive bouncers and also got scammed here by random woman adding her drinks to out bill
The vibes: immaculate. The drinks: free on the guestlist. The music: poppin off. The door staff: moody but gorgeous. The dancers: inspiringly amazing. The show performers: eye-poppingly entertaining. The lighting: intense. The decor: fabulous. The Box: iykyk.
One of the best club in London. Very good Music and friendly staff. Bruno
Favourite place to go out in London. The atmosphere and the staff is 10/10. always have a good night here.
I feel sorry for the people standing, as the space is quite small. The shows might me a lot for freshies but you do get used to it (especially cause the acts rarely changeWe usually get a table, which I do recommend, starting at 1k xx
There is no other institution like this in the whole world, the people, the vibe, the talent, it’s the best venue I have ever been to in my whole life and I will never stop supporting it. If you get the chance to go, do not turn it down, it will be a night to remember
The Box is so much fun. However the bouncers are little bit over the top. They don’t really distinguish between polite sober guests and rude drunk people. What a shame!
BE CAREFULL!!!!My brother goes every single week, 2 or even 3 times, the spend a lot of money and the make the club popular even tho is not secure at all!!HE GOT STOLEN THE BAG FROM THE CLOAK ROOM AND NOBODY ANSWERED FOR IT!!!!! The manager was there and did not help in anything also the only one in the was the security guy SO IT WAS MORE THAN OBVIOUS THE THEY TOOK IT!DONT GET CONFIDENT FOR THE FACT THE IS A NICE CLUB, DONT LEAVE YOUR STUFF IN THERE NEVER!!!!!
Visited The Box twice and I must say that show was very creative and out of this world. It’s all about having good time there and definitely recommend to take table if budget allows you. Certainly worth to visit at least once.
Good music, great staff, people nicely dressed and chic. Overall an awesome night. We got a private table from Alex. Got his number on the club-bookers website
Everything is perfect in this night club, I can not find anything that is not 5 stars. Music, drinks, atmosphere, personal and of course the fantastic dancers. Luxury environment in the center of london. I recommend it to everyone but know that it is not a cheap place.
Ive been to the box in London and new york in the last two weeks. For London, my twin brother and I didnt expect to go out but we just went with the flow of the night. Anyway, we got in for free. The lady at the door liked us and we were dressed in suits. Drinks were £20. Music was OK but theres no room to dance without someone trying to squeeze past you. We spoke to many people but everyone is distracted by the show which youre forced to watch. The show isnt entertaining and cheap. Its seedy with excessive male nudity. We left after 90 minutes. In new york I had the VIP treatment and free drinks because I know one of the bartenders. Regardless, the place has no dance floor, caters around table service and its tricky to talk to people. Untimately the venues lack class and I wouldnt go back even if I had free VIP, drinks and any add ons.
This is one of the craziest things Ive ever experienced. The Box is definitely worth a visit, if you are in town. Atmosphere and the shows are unique. The moment you step into the club, youre in a new world with no inhibitions.Make sure youve a handful of money with you to pipe up your night a little bit more.
Was lucky to be offered last minute spot on a table through a friend of a friend last night but this club is nothing compared to how it was a few years ago! Though music and shows were good, was far too packed with no room to dance. The queue outside for VIP guests who payed thousands upfront for entry was atrocious and security very rude. Our host Ashley was amazing and helped us in though, so thanks for that but in general we were very disappointed. A few years ago you were made to feel like a special guest and there were lots of special touches through out the night that took you by surprise. A night I will never forget but after last night we wont be returning and I will not recommend it.
Went with a group of colleagues after work (mixed group of boys and girls). They told us that us boys in the group would have to pay £450 to get inside, which would include a bottle service. However the £450 and bottle service was a mandatory fee to let us inside. The girls however were told they could come in for free. We decided to leave and go to another bar close by instead. This is a primary example of sexual discrimination in London, its quite sad. I wont be attempting to go back unless their policy becomes more gender balanced.
At first the atmosphere was nice until the show started. It was disgusting. I don’t even want to describe it, cause it was too graphic.I can only say that I’ll never go back there. The security guys are very rude and they choice whom to let back in, even if you’ll go to the toilet. It’s just wrong and horrible.Table cost £1K and by the stage £2K. Ridiculous.Would not recommend it!
Had a great night from the moment we walked in. Door staff very friendly and helpful. Been well looked after by the waitress. Definitely one of my favourite spots in London.
If you stand in the queue, you dont realise it but you inadvertently agree to be used by the door staff as promotional door dressing, and relinquish your customer status. Theyll lie and tell you otherwise of course.Suffice to say dumb kids with a few Gs will continue to flock here (well placed promoters?), but the actual moneyed (or otherwise intelligentcrowd moved on long, long ago.Like a casino, you come here to lose on all fronts, (though casinos have a veneer of integrity and tangible service standards!).
We queued for an hour and a half until we got right to the front to still be told we would not get in without a RSV. Unless you’re rich and stylish ( by stylish, I mean looking like Neo from The Matrix with a bowl cut, speedos and a priest on a leash, you ain’t getting in. I heard it was £50 for lads to get in as well. Shame
I bought the most expensive beer in my life. Drinks are too expensive and the enterance fee is 50 for boys. The staff at the enterance are rude and keep you at the door for long to approve whether you are to go in or not and they do not explain the reason. There is not space too move around and atmosphere is wiered.
I’ll tell you what, many of my mates have mentioned the door policy is a problem. I finally spent a few nights in this mysterious building, and I will say this. This is not for everyone, it’s what I would call an acquired taste, or for only certain types of morally fluid individuals 🤣But if you’re willing to pay the money, this will be one of the greatest nights of your life.I call it the Boxing ring. Pure Electricity!!!! 🦋Sorry Google no pictures allowed 😉
I had an awesome night here, the music is good and the staff are absolutely lovely our hostess was super cool and helped us out with drinks and everything! Tables are an experience and the secret room downstairs is wild. Bit cramped dancing upstairs but met lovely people as a result! Will definitely be back soon!
Pretty meh, I dont get it to be honest. The show was alright, but the club itself is pretty dire. Overpriced and no room to move less so to dance. Its free to get in, so theres that. I would recommend a visit, it may be more your thing!
The worst bouncer ever!!!Rude , arrogant etc..I am not in my teen and I have been in many places around the world .. Nick you should really change your stuff before the crowd decide to change venue and you can close your Club ..very disappointed.. on a good note i have had the pleasure to meet two lovely guys that made my night fun . Place smell by the way ..over priced tooWill not go back .. so many places in London better than this box 📦
I think this place is ok, I was expecting wild debauchery and beautiful people. The sex show was a girl dancing around in some off white undies that had seen better days. The bouncers were ok, personally I wouldnt say they were rude, just a bit stuffy. Go to Jaks, Tonteria, hospital club... This is one of those places that wont be there in 2 years. Also as an aside they did loose my friends coat from the cloakroom and have fobbed off all her attempts to get it. But what do you expect. I wouldnt say dont go, I would say go once and you will be glad youve done it but you wont want to go back.
Unforgettable night! Just walking in soho on a wednesday night and we came across this big wood door with 3 big bodyguards standing there. As soon as we found out was the box we decided to give us a chance to get inside. Contrarly from what everyone says we were not super dressed up ( just came from work I even did not have heelswhile people in the guest list had to queue, we stopped at the other side of the door, the guy at the door asked what we were up that night and then after literally 3 minutes we were inside the box! We had few free drinks during the night. Waiters had been picking some guests to give free shots. Shows were hilarious and we had so much fun dancing till 4.00 a.m. The environment and the vibes were great. I definetly will stop by an other time.
Avoid avoid avoid! I read the reviews before going here and didnt possibly think that the bad ones could be true, but they are. Take out a 2nd mortgage before you go, wear clothes that you are happy to throw away afterwards cos the place stinks and take a course on how to deal with a***hole bouncers and staff
One of the best Club and nights in London ! I went few times, with different friends and we always spent an unforgettable night there. The decoration and ambiance are really well thought, the crew working there is efficiant and makes you dive deep in the world of the Box, the Burlesque show is insane. In brief, if you havent been you should try it. A minus for the awful prices (I know it is a special club, but come on, lets be reasonable 2 minutes on the prices, there is some limit !)
Beautiful setup and great ambience. The resident drag queen is a delight but the staff is seriously lacking politeness and attentiveness. Shocking for an upscale club. The drinks are outrageously priced (£9.50 for a single shot spirit/mixerAt least they had free chewinggums in the bathrooms. Wouldnt go again.
Seen some poor reviews and I couldnt disagree more. I went to the door without a reservation or on the guest list. Chatted to the bouncers and then Joe and yes he looked us up and down but when you get in there, you can tell why. Its not pretentious or about what youre wearing or just about what you spend, its a great vibe and atmosphere and its about maintaining that. I chatted to people from France, Romania and the US to name a few and the service from the hosts and bar staff was impeccable. Yes, the show was eye opening at times but if you dont want cabaret then dont go to a cabaret club. All in all, had an immense time and met people Im planning to see again.
Door man called "Joe" is the worst in the whole of London. Which is a shame as the club was at a high level before they hired him. The crowd is now terrible and tacky. I imagine the best crowd do not put up with his attitude and inefficiency, they get treated much better elsewhere.
The Box is one of those experiences I feel you must do once in your life, while living in London! I go about once a year now, through a membership club called Bacanal, which hosts American-inspired day brunch parties. On first glance, it looks like a barren alleyway which a big black etched door. However, upon getting through the red curtain, you arrive upon a grand staircase that leads to a beautiful ballroom style (but small and intimate room), where the shows are held. There is another floor with a bar, but the shows are in the main room. It is dark, and it is edgy, which sets the atmosphere for what is about to come. The shows! The shows are what you imagine: risque, daring, and perverted. At some point you ask yourself what you are doing here as there are simply things you cant unsee. This is definitely something you want to do atleast once in London, but not something I would do on a regular night out!
The Box used to be the best club in London, especially when Dino and Chris were at the door. But now (July 2014only the junkie and useless people get in and some rich tourists think its cool because they hear the old stories. I dont wanna give names but the black girl at the door constantly smokes while working and the guy is lying to everyone - nothing is done professionally. Not worth waiting, just junkies around. Rubbish
Bouncers are complete idiots. Great club once you are inside, but bouncers treat customers like animals. They have this self-power thing going on, where they lose sense of reality and think they are god like. After 11pm, unless you have paid for some mega table or personally know someone, good luck. Club is trapped in a bubble and staff are delusional. Not a way to live your life.
Best night out!! I loved the intriguing atmosphere, sort of like a secret place where anything goes. The show was quite interesting and it definitely spiked up the night. It was a fun, different, naughty night!
I had heard the rumours but nothing had prepared me for what was coming. I was ushered into the back door and found myself in a very lavish looking seating area. The music I suppose was average but the show was incredible. Worth going just for that. The crowd was varied but I did feel like I wasnt maybe "cool" enough to be served when it was my turn. The staff were picky with who they did serve and this made me frustrated and I ended up leaving which is a shame but again I went for the show which did impress
