St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Euston Rd, Kings Cross, London NW1 2AR, Hong Kong
English cocktail lounge and brasserie housed in the spectacular renovation of St Pancras station.
Top location! Beautiful hall, good music, nice atmosphere and good service! But:Headlights from the platform directly in my face.We didnt get the reserved seats we wanted as a group. The tartare as it is, either take it off the menu or change it radically... I dont know if its even allowed to be served this way. Tastes more like pressed meat...The burger must have been very good.
The hostess last night should be fired. She was discriminatory towards us, lied about all of the tables being reserved for dinner and was insanely rude. She then complained about us to the manager, despite this, and despite the fact that we are staying at the hotel (she of course didnt ask). The waiter took her lead and was also rude, but not as much as her. It was quite obvious she sat businessmen etc at nicer seating, who she was very cordial with, and those who were not at less. Her behavior towards us was disgusting. This treatment is unacceptable in NYC so I am shocked to see it London. I can see I am also not the only review citing discrimination. We plan to never stay here again (this is our second timebecause of this.
Firstly, their idea of a pepper gravy is to put literal peppercorns floating in the gravy. You had to wait 20-30 mins for your fries to come out, so by the time you waited your £35 steak was cold. Their service was fairly slow. Although nice enough. The aesthetics of the venue were beautiful, if you’re going for a drink please do, but think twice about food.
Went for drink after work. Elegant room on station plaza. Had to reserve a table and then only limited number of people allowed to sit. Very restrictive. Other places are more relaxed.
I have been there several times for lunch, and it has always been a good experience. Since COVID, however, it seems so very difficult to obtain a booking. No-one answers the telephone when I call (I have given up after repeated calls). I complained by email 6 days ago, and indeed got a response the following day wanting details of when I wanted to book. 5 days later Im still waiting for a confirmation of booking. Such a shame. I will book an alternative venue.
I love this place for its architecture and history but my review is based on tonight’s dinner. Honestly, it was the worse dinner I’ve ever had! The barbecued cauliflower was uncooked, cold, tasted awful and I could not believe they had the guts to serve it! That after waiting for 40min for the main course to arrive. No one came to check if the food was OK. Not sure if I go back for drinks either, this place lost and lacks sophistication.
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. They have a nice menu to select from too.I would highly recommend it. We spent some extra time there after the restaurant had closed and they started were kind enough to let us sit in the hotel lounge area.
Beautiful place for drinks. It’s a really impressive room. I haven’t had dinner here, but I’d definitely go back for cocktails.
Cavernous and beautiful, do not go here if you have a deadline. Service is as slow as the victorian gears used to crank the gates of kings cross. Late night is the worst as they are out of most things on the menu...what tiny bites menu there is. But if you want a very leisurely evening in gorgeous surroundings and you dont care if it takes 30 minutes for drinks and food, this is your place. :)
WOW!! The best experience of my life.. and I’m 58. We are from The U.S. and celebrated our 30th to anniversary there. The food was excellent and the service even better!Be sure to tell them if it is a special occasion!!
Lovely surroundings, attentive staff and oysters which were a highlight. I wish we ordered more.
Incredible building and atmosphere. Staff were knowledgable and friendly. Great menu and some excellent cocktails
A very classy bar with very professional bar tenders, wich where all well dressed. They make all sorts of fancy cocktails and a variety of drinks.prices are bit high but deff worth the money.they do have a dresscode.
Celebrated a friends birthday in a large booth on a Thurs evening. The renovations really opened the restaurant up - what was once pretty classic though maybe a bit wooden & drab, became airy & somewhat tropical. The menu is pretty limited, but I enjoyed the fried chicken starter.Good selection of cocktails.
Conveniently located at St Pancrad and a hop&skip away from Kings Cross, so fairly convenient a place to wait for a ride or to escape to in the mid-afternoon summer heat, as we did. Their martini was good-- a solid martini. We tried the oysters and they were NOT fresh and a bit disappointing. The bar nuts were good, though, and the decor/atmosphere quite swanky. Recommend for the vibes, not the food
Had a bad first impression by the welcoming staff, we booked a table for dinner thru the website based on given timings for dinner , we arrive 9 45 sharp and had to wait for 5 minutes for her to finish a discussion with another staff. Then when she greeted us she said just to let you know that the kitchen is closing and it’s the last order so we need you to hurry up and order and I had to hold the chef until we ordered !! I confronted her that my booking was correct and based on the restaurants option to dine ?! Had I made a mistake on booking days back and showing up on the correct timing ? So she said let’s get you to your table , she made it feel like she’s doing us a favor !! Needs to work on the hospitality side , the customer does not need your internal details of ur process with the kitchen if he or she showed up correctly and welcome ur guests correctly next time if you want it to be a fine dining experience, a fast food chain will greet you better.2nd downside was trying to get the waiters attention by waving whenever we needed something, drinks are empty and had to wait for attention then wait for the drink to be served, 13 minutes to order again for a drink then another 10 minutes for it to arrive.Steak quality was poor.Fortunately we experienced the the ambiance and the beautiful interior of this beautiful building, I believe that was the whole experience in general. Not really a dinner place as of now until they work on rearranging the standard to match the venue.
Gorgeous venue with creative cocktails and food menu.
The restaurant decor was beautiful. The burger and fish sandwich didn’t impress us. However, our server Rosario was exceptional. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our time there.
What a wonderful room to have a coffee in or even something more substantial. Great service as well.
Went here for dinner with my aunt and sister. We had a lovely time overall.Positives - the ambience is to die for! Tall ceilings with palm trees which you don’t usually get in London. The drinks were nice and they had an extensive wine list.Negatives - the food was so-so. I had the burger which was quite good. However my sister had the fish burger which she said wasn’t good at all and was soggy. We ordered some starters and hadn’t ordered mains. The waiter next came back to tell us the kitchen was closing and to order the mains. At 10:15 I asked if we could order mains and the answer was that they would check. The manager that handled this was excellent as he still allowed us to order. But really would expect more from such a place.
Just stopped by for a mid evening drink. Its a, very nice place to sit with friends and chat over a glass of wine. Bags of atmosphere.
Beautiful decor, elegant atmosphere!I would have loved it more, if they would have better variety on their menu. I had some difficulty to choose a main course. In any case, I went there for dinner with a friend and we spent some fabulous time.
Beautiful restaurant and fabulous service. Did not particularly enjoy the food. Ordered 4 dishes. Every vegetarian dish I ordered was spicy, without warning. Found the carrot salad very watery. Would love to revisit for the location, decor and service, but would love to see the food improve.
A great place to hang out with your friends and have a good beer and Whiskey with the classical ambience.
Slightly bonkers interior which I enjoyed greatly. Very attentive, (in a good waystaff. I had fish of the day that had been taken off the bone, much appreciated and delicious. Good selection of cocktails too. We went early but it looks like the kind of place that could get quiet lively later on.
Exceptional service and drinks. My favourite cocktail was the Hermes Fizz, with rose vermouth, muyu vetiver, and citrus, and was very refreshing with delicious flavours. We were served a small bowl of snacks to accompany our cocktails, and the server would explain the flavours or production of the drink ingredients. The venue is very glamorous, featuring 8-metre high palm trees, dimly-lit large pendant lamps, and a large bar (slightly tiki-esque, with bamboo cladding round the barand looks over St Pancras station and the Paul Day statue. We really enjoyed our drinks, though unfortunately did not eat at the Booking Office (the food is also supposed to be excellent).
Food was good, but we had to ask for wine glasses 5 times after we got the wine.
Stopped by for a brief visit before a train and had some wonderful cocktails. Staff were really nice, friendly and attentive which added to the experience. Would recommend the Ol Signalman cocktail (pictured).
Was in the Booking Office for a meal on Thursday evening, Diabolical, am posting photos of the meal 🍴 could not believe that a chef would allow that to leave his kitchen, eggs disgusting, chips reheated, and so brittle couldnt get a fork in them, gave them the benefit of the doubt and went to the Standing order for breakfast, was in Edinburgh, but the 🏴 breakfast was off, so had to opt for the standard one, the photos speak for themselves, I rest my case
One of the most beautiful restaurants in London, without a doubt, truly a sight to behold. The wait staff were all fantastic: helpful, inviting and incredibly friendly. The food was also good; of all the dishes we tried, I would say the black pudding schnitzel was my favourite.
Was looking forward to dining here but was a disappointing experience. The food was average, some dishes were cold, service was not very attentive.Pro: good music & nice venueWouldn’t recommend - was pricey for what we got.
Had a great time! I went to dinner with my big brother, everyone their was super lovely and the place was really clean!! And the vibe is just very welcoming! Dont go there if your broke. Defo recommended..
I arrived at 8.30pm and around 25% of the menu was unavailable: oysters, bresaola, crab cake, Alsace wine… Service was also extremely slow. I believe the menu could also be more adventurous, as it is conservative British cuisine for the most part.A serious disappointment beyond the decor, which is grandiose.Would come back for the bar only.
What a beautiful place! The environment is amazing and restaurant is gorgeous. We had dinner. Our waiter Francesco was so nice, we had the grilled fish he recommended which was delicious and and aperol. I had the half chicken roasted with the martini. Everything was great.
This has been one of my favourite places in London for years and it was a pleasure to recently visit once again since its been revamped. Everything about the place is impeccable - the drinks, the food, the decor, the staff. The Booking Office serves up unique cocktails with approachable complexity, offering something for everyone. The food is equally wonderful, offering one of the best burgers Ive ever had. The tarragon and vinegar in the bearnaise sauce cuts through the richness of beef and bacon while further enhancing the textures and flavours of the meat. The accompanying fries are perfectly done with a crispy, bronzed exterior and fluffy interior. It is a place I continue to recommend to friends and I cant wait to visit again.
The decor here is stunning, and that alone is worth visiting for. The service is excellent, and at the premium price you might expect. It is certainly a little pretentious, every drink accompanied by a short lecture on how it is made (which I didnt understand and immediately forgot), including a little spray that comes with some drinks. Its all very beautiful, theyre above average cocktails, but not the best Ive had, and we had some trouble finding the entrance. I was glad they didnt have a strict dress code (as I had expected), and they did make us feel welcome. Overall, Id suggest popping in for a drink, then moving on to somewhere more affordable.
A number of people might have been inspired to visit on the basis of Grace Dents review in The Guardian, but my experience of the place was not the same.Yes, the decor is wonderful, with a gorgeous bar as the centerpiece, and you can easily imagine it being the venue for a long, lost afternoon, a first date, or a relationship rekindled. It all started pretty superbly. The oysters were superb, the tuna skewers excellent, the old fashioned reasonable. But what was missing were some of the basics. A main course that took 90 minutes to arrive. The sight of an empty glass should be an invitation to ask if you would like another. An adjoining table being told that broccoli had run out at 7pm. A fried fish sandwich which, perhaps informed by my increasingly sour mood, seemingly resembled a more elaborate Fillet o Fish, accompanied by excessively salted fries.Credit to the serving staff - including the very sweet Mihaela, a delight - who at the very least recognised the issues and wiped the main course from the bill and added a free glass of wine for the inconvenience.Nonetheless, its such a pity. This could be one of Londons best destinations, or given the location the launchpad to a fabulous trip elsewhere. But until they sort out service, an issue which clearly seems to have been a problem given the reviews, cancellation might instead be the recommendation.
This place really surprised me! Looking at the reviews I was a bit nervous but we had a fabulous time. The food was shockingly good, the cocktails were on point, the ambiance… I mean 🤩 and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend going (and definitely try the cashew hummus 🤤)
This must be the best place to be in London 2022! The ambience and swank cannot be matched elsewhere. The room oozes charisma and style ~ the service and food top class! Steak and lamb were great... best spinach side Ive ever had... and the nibbles like fresh tuna steaks and oysters were fantastic! Great wine and champagne selection and for me the cocktails are just as delicious to the eyes and mind as they are to the taste buds!!!!! The St Pancras cocktail was my favourite with a citrus sorbet surrounded with champagne ~ lush!!! All this with a DJ ....and palm trees 👌stunning!
Absolutely loved our experience there: food was amazing, even simple dishes like burrata had an interesting twist of flavour, staff was attentive and was able to advise on point, and interior is stunning. Place worth noting for a drink with friends or a date night.
The location and atmosphere is great. However, I was sorely disappointed with what they had in offer for vegans. They only have one thing marked as vegan in their menu which is in fact vegetarian. They say they can make vegetarian items vegan but just taking out eggs and cheese without replacing them with something else shouldnt be acceptable in this restaurants price range. £18 for 1/2 of roasted butternut squash sprinkled with pomegranate is disappointing. No creativity or nutritional consideration given to this menu item. It was boring and lacked any kind of taste or texture. If I wasnt invited to a party, I would not chose to go there. I hope they step up their menu and have a bit more impressive selection. Even Gordon Ramsay has a vegan eggplant steak recipe.
Such an enchanting place!Being there definitely feels like in a movie. The staff is amicable, and the dishes are incredible. If you want to celebrate something special or take your SO on a fancy date, I recommend this lovely spot.
Incredibly posh and exceptionally professional. The staff were extremely helpful and top-class service.Pricey drinks (as is to be expectedand an incredibly beautiful environment of architecture/decadence. Cider will cost you £7 😉
A beautiful interior and great cocktails. We enjoyed the music the DJ was playing. We had a seat at the bar which was comfortable and gave us a nice view of the room. Friendly, welcoming staff.
The place is a sight to behold. Its not as bright as in the pictures, but still, those tall ceilings and palm trees look absolutely amazing. The service was super attentive. I was looking for cocktails in the wine menu, and one of the members of staff noticed this and brought the right menu without even asking. We ordered the lamb shoulder for two, and it was well prepared, and frankly, would be enough for 3 persons. The blackberries trifle dessert was lovely as well. So what the Malbec wine.
A great new eating venue in London! We liked the decor and ambience, and the quality of the food was spot on. There was a decent wine list and the service was attentive and friendly. We shared the lamb shoulder main course and it had more than enough meat for 2 people! We were celebrating a birthday and the team made the effort to bring over macroons with a birthday message. Price wise we spent £230 for 2 people so it’s not the cheapest but standard for London with great ambience, and it did include oysters that were very well presented! Tables were turning over up until 2200 so booking on busy nights will be essential. We were able to charge the bill to our room with no issue since it’s part of Renaissance hotel. Overall a lovely dining experience and a well trained team with a clear direction on delivering great service.
Style meets substance. Decor meets service. This venue oozes class, the food and drink matches the high standards from the moment you enter. The lamb for two was perfect and would highly recommend. A delightful night.
Loved my recent visit to the newly-reopened Booking Office. Atmosphere was just right with excellent music, staff were attentive and food delicious - I recommend buret (partner had chicken terrine), lamb to share was fab and great for us meat eaters. I dont usually do desserts but the donut was amazing and I am told the espresso cocktail was perfect. Only gripe was not being able to order wine by the bottle, settling for a glass or a 500ml carafe, but definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful evening at the Booking Office, an impromptu stop in after a visit to the National Library. A beautifully prepared meal, very friendly and prompt staff, one of the best steaks and cocktails weve had in awhile. Well be back for sure.
The location and setting of the bar/restaurant is ideal for East Midlands trains passengers (just a bit further along the platform). The room itself has a historic atmosphere which has a romantic quality. They have seasonal menus with a good range of options (cheapest main was £16). I had the spring menu (scallops followed by corn fed chickenwhich came to £32. The meals were delicious, with fresh produce well cooked and presented. The chicken didnt come with any carbohydrates (chips are extra at £4). This didnt matter to me but the scallops came with a large roll of bread so maybe ask the waitperson if unsure.I also had a coffee (£5but Ive had nicer, cheaper and larger coffees elsewhere in St Pancras station so unless you want to stay for the atmosphere maybe consider other available options. As an aside the toilets are very nice and you get to walk along a corridor with the original tiles, which are spectacular (if youre in to that sort of thing)!
