The Blue Wave Fish & Chips in Noble Park

The quality of food is aweful and has gone down so much, we used to love blue wave but won’t be going back, the chips we ordered recently was old and had been reheated, they tasted aweful, the oil is clearly old because you can taste the difference with fresh oil to old oil. Everything we had tasked and looked like it was a few days old. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money but when you start taking shortcuts you loose business. You have just lost a valuable regular customer.

The staff need immediate retraining, ignored on entry, rude when served, if I wasnt hungry Id have walked out. Wont be returning

Sorry to say the quality has gone down hill. Went frequently, having tried nearly all the other chips shops, and been happy with the food. Of the last 4 times, 3 of the times the chips were gritty (potatoes not washed / soil?thankfully the last time they didnt have this problem but chips tasted average, a bit soggy. The cod doesnt taste of much. I guess they have switched suppliers or getting inferior potatoes / fish. I drive through Corby coming back from work, and there are 2 excellent chippies there who havent compromised on quality (yet?and pick up from there now, its only 15-20 minutes before its on the table at home. I will try Blue Wave again periodically, hopefully they will win back my custom as i prefer to support local businesses...

Dont know whats happened lately but past couple of times the large fish has tasted off resulting in funny tummy and chips look like they have been cooked in dirty oil. Used to be great. Wont be using again

Really nice gluten free fish but only on a Monday which is a shame. And although ours was wrapped in paper there was still quite a bit of polystyrene around.

Best chippy in harb (in my opinion), chips are always cooked well, fish is on point considering we’re nowhere near the sea & they’re not shy on portion sizes.

Fish OK but chips very bitty and cut so thin awful, went a few weeks ago and was the same, but thought l would try again.Will be looking for another chippy ....

Have always loved their fish and chips and they do not disappoint. They have expanded their range too so worth a look

Foods always good but 2nd time now got my food wrong. Asked for a cheese burger and got a burger. Was too late to take back as was on lunch break

Best Gluten free fish and chips we have ever had. Cooked fresh whilst I waited. Not greasy, fish was fresh and the batter was crispy.

Filled a hole, greasy and soggy.. over priced for quality compared to others.

Don’t let the clean facade fool you it’s very greasy and mediocre at best, chips taste like they’ve been sat for a good hour(lunch timeI’d say 30% where inedible due to dryness and being hard as stone(honestly don’t know how they achieved this). Battered sausage was almost white=mass produced rubbish shame given the local butchers are award winning…lazy. If it wasn’t for the roll I’d of wasted £5 and still been hungry. If your in the area just go somewhere else…..literally anywhere you won’t regret it

Its a fish and chip shop, or chipper depending on where youre from. Wide range of alternatives to fish. Just as well as fish and chips is expensive, and my haddock is very expensive. Service is fast and efficient.

Best fish and chips in the area, especially as they cater for gluten free. Have always visited here and its great gluten free is also now available on Tuesdays too!

Fish n chips very good.Kebabs vary with the meat and the salad.Sometimes thick chunky bits of kebab meat Sometimes not enough salad.Very tasty though thats why I order here regularly.

Food quality seems to vary quite a lot, my delivery arrived extremely soggy batterd fish and chips quite hard.

Lovely fish and chips nice size portions and staff are always friendly.they do gluten free a couple of nights a week.calamari batter could be a bit thicker so it sticks them a bit better.

Very average at best- chips poor, fish too greasy but tasted good

If you get rid of some of the excess grease off it would be perfect 👌

Gone downhill big time recently after being for years a very decent place, first time ever in my life have I ever ordered fish and chips and the fish was wrapped separately from the chips, chips were hard as bricks and fish was less than average at best, wont be going back again... sorry

First 4 star post was a mistake.After many good meals from Blue wave, tonights was bad,Cod was tiny and had a small thin piece of some other tastless fish played on top then battered, chips were dry, hard and tasteless, we used to recommend blue wave.

As a walk in customer last night service was painfully slow, even with six or seven people serving behind the counter. Fish and chips were good service slow!

I would give this six stars if I could, then take one away and replace it with two. The fish was 1perfectly cooked and 2massive. The chips were also delicious, as was the curry sauce. Inside was spotlessly clean, and the food was served on actual plates with metal cutlery. Quite a rarity for a fish and chip shop. Eight stars

We had a delivery of scrumptious fresh fish and chips tonight. Our order was done easily online. It was delivered on time, with a smile and as the portions were so generous, we have leftovers. Great job Blue Wave. We’ll definitely be back !

Had my first take away fish and chips yesterday and it was really great. Came on time and was beautifully cooked, with no additional greasy bits.

Lockdown & chips? Big success! We ordered online and collected (Monday 27th April). Our food was being prepared at the correct time when I arrived, I just had to wait for a couple of minutes for the mini fish to finish frying (theres plenty of marked out space to be able to maintain social distancing and minimise contact for collection). The food was served fresh, hot with a smile! Quality was great! Crispy batter, well cooked chips. An evening not in the kitchen cooking again was just what we needed! One question though, can you add a plate drop off washing up service please for the really lazy customers like me? Haha! Not really! Keep up the great work and stay safe! 😊

Great chips, ordered for my grandads birthday and was not disappointed. Very punctual also, and I enjoy the convenience of the new click and collect feature.

Probably some of the best fish and chips Ive ever had but my god the staff! 🙈🙈 Not busy, I walk in and totally ignored. Gentleman in front has his order taken and stands to the side so I wait...a young girl comes up and Im standing there and all I get it is is anyone waiting completely ignoring me. So I said yes I am and she just looked at me. So I ordered and waited. When she asked if salt and vinegar was wanted I said yes and went back to the counter....she put the food in a paper bag and just flicked the corner of the bag and said yours... Wow. If I treated my customers like this I wouldnt have any. Fantastic food but I will never return.

This is the best chip shop in town, very clean and friendly staff. Food is great, and a loverly seating area that can seat 24 people. They will cater for party’s and events. The shop closed for a total revamp in 2018, which gave it a nice open space and a bigger seating area.0

First time using blue wave fish bar but would definitely recommend had a kebab was very nice but would have liked it to be bigger with more meat and salad

Just had fish chips and mushy peas.. this evening.The food was lovely. We sat in to eat.. nice and clean. With friendly staff. Definitely the best chippy in town 👍

When it first opened, brilliant become a household favourite. The past 3 visits have left a cold taste in the mouth. Ordered potato fritters which, while the portion is plentiful the batter is either undercooked or soggy leaving the potato uncooked. Same with the chips, recently noticed theyre becoming more and more anaemic. Wont come again for a few months. Recommended people to go elsewhere.

Unfortunately the batter is sometimes uncooked under a toasty, crunchy exterior, with large portions. This happened twice in succession, so well give the place a miss for a few months. Basically the fryer should test the batter or make a thinner coating so the batter is always cooked through.

Just had a chippy tea from here and it was brilliant! The chips were really thick and perfectly cooked, so was the roe and the kids fish bites. We will be coming again.

The recently refurbished and revamped fish bar is spacious and clean with lots more seating than previously. Whenever we have been there either for take away or to eat in, there have been plenty of staff so have always been served promptly. The fish, chips and pies etc. are all tasty. Also tried the deep fried halloumi which was yum. Good portion sizes. Had to pay for ketchup, no condiments on the table but that is the only negative. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Raw fish... The batter was lightly golden but soft and doughy. The fish was a generous size but raw in the middle. As the saying goes, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Hence this will be my first and last visit here.

Was lovely fish. The batter was just right and not to crispy. Chips were ok but I dont like new potatoes so others may like them.
