Andy was amazing! She was our server and she is so sweet! She really took care of us and everything was perfect. We will definitely be back to eat but only if she can wait on us.

Just moved to the area and I always like to check out local places...I want disappointed. Everything I had was delicious, the pork cutlets were incredible. I tried fried cornbread for the first time.Will definitely be making this a regular spot to eat.

Excellent " southern cuisine". Not over seasoned with salt or greasy. Great prices on a full plate of meat and vegetables or individual sides. Clean, friendly greeter and servers with quick service. Highly recommend.

Great place for home cooking! Meatloaf was great, and the mac and cheese was, annoyingly, better than what I make. I was amused by the tiny biscuit... But, as it was accompanied by a couple of corn fritters, I have no complaints. If its busy you may have a wait, but I encourage you to be patient. Its worth it!

I really like this place! We stopped on our drive from Ga. It’s easy access and plenty of parking. The staff are friendly. The service was efficient. The food was really good. I think the prices were fair. I recommend the friend chicken, friend okra, and dressing.

Had Chef Salad, tasted very good. Lots of proteins in it, as well as great mix of veggies. Could not finish veggies ... left about 1/2 cup behind. Great service, friendly atmosphere, clean, good prices.

Weve been to this location more than a few times over the years. Just recently my daughter has become obsessed w/ it & I dont mind as I cant recall a single bad experience any of the times. Staff is friendly & helpful, food is good & fills me up on less than I thought. Overall, its a good example of a true southern meal. Dont forget to leave 👍 when you find reviews helpful, its nice knowing didnt waste your time.

Melissa is an incredible server. Donna and Amber are also wonderful. Chelsea was friendly too. Food was good, fast, and fresh. Seasoned well.

Absolutely loved the catfish on a blue plate with mashed and gravy.

The food and the service was awesome 👌 our waitress was super sweet.

Ok. First off. Staff is great. I gave it 3 stars because I sat down to enjoy a home cooked southern meal. Only to taste instant out of the box Mash Potatoes. So disappointing. Pork Chops were good. But no where near the home cooked meal I was expecting. Overall ok. The staff and atmosphere make up for the instant part. So I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them.

Buddy and I decided to give this place a try after playing at Dothan national. Let me tell you bout the best darn food either of us have ever had. And awesome service. Highly highly recommend.

Great variety. Collards, okra, salmon, peas, chicken, steak, cornbread, gravy, just about everything. And everything is good

Ordered from blue plate todayMash potatoes & gravy were rotten. The salad was several days old....The previous order -country fried steak was burnt.Blue plate will no longer be an option for us.

They have excellent servers but their food especially their sides leave something to be desired. It is supposed to be home cooking but it appears to all have been cooked early that morning and heated up when you order it. I say that because it only takes minutes to get your food to the table and I ordered a chicken breast. So I recommend you try it and decide for yourself but I believe this guy and his family have made there last trip to this establishment./ Service was good this evening 6/25/22 and the Macaroni was alright tonight but the corn bread and my country fried steak and my daughters country fried steak were kind of salty. Not sure why exactly 🤔 but overall certainly good service good food great place to stop and eat when your in town

This was our first time at Blue Plate. The food was wonderful. Reminded me of my friends grandma’s Sunday dinner. We went at a very busy time on Sunday. We were seated quickly and served our food quickly. Everything cooked to order. It was a great experience.

Food was delicious. Portions were great. Staff was great.

We eat at Blue Plat on average once every couple of weeks. Always a good meal. Always too cold in the building.

We tried to eat here. We were excited when we saw the menu when looking for a place to eat while traveling through Dothan. We came in and someone who worked there told us to sit anywhere. After 3 different wait staff walked past us a few times and didn’t acknowledge us (let alone offer service), we left. We thought waiting 10 minutes was long enough. When we were walking out, the same person who told us to have a seat just shrugged as we walked out. I can’t recommend the place.

The food is delicious, I cant deny that. However, the portions are too small for the price. I paid $12 for a catfish meal and the size of the catfish was very disappointing. Plus, the sides where just a handful. Maybe this is just for to-go plates? Regardless, I wont be back. For that amount of money, I expect to have leftovers (Im a moderate eaterand I had NONE!

Where do I start?? Blue plate is just not consistent with their food. One day is great the other day is horrible. Some of the people there especially orange hair girl could care less about the customers with her attitude. If you dine in you get more food than if you get it to go and thats a fact. Thats an old fashioned way of cheating customers that some restaurants do! And when you complain they act like Im the one thats in the wrong. I quit going there for over a year and figured I would give them another chance. We have always went three to four times per week spending $100 to $150 per week there for two people. We always tipped the waitresses very well, Well this time Im done for damn good!!!

I eat at this location more than the other one but they are both good. Can NOT park an RV at this location parking lot. I love eating there and they always have a great desert selection. The prices seem fair. Also love the thin crunchy corn bread and sweet tea. No alcohol is served here. Parking lot is always full. It’s country cooking.

heard great things about this place; finally went and was disappointed. I got the grilled shrimp plate with Cole slaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. The shrimp had no real flavor, the slaw I think they forgot to add the rest of the ingredients other then the cabbage. My husband got the pork roast with mac and cheese also mashed potatoes with gravy, the roast was good but everything else bland. Portions was not worth what we paid.

Traveling through area and decided to stop here. The waitresses are outstanding. The food was average.

Best service ever! Seated as soon as we walked in. Waitress a second later, asked for drinks and they came moments later. Food came quick too and the bread basket and drinks were not left empty for long without being refilled. At one point I saw our waitress standing in the doorway by the kitchen scanning the room. Cups were only half full but she hurried to fill them anyway. Food was delish too!

The food is great but I would strongly recommend calling before wasting your time driving there because according to the manager I just spoke with on the phone, the owner closes when they want to and not by their store hours on the door, website, and recording when you call. I drove an hour and a half just to come eat some of there turkey and cornbread dressing just to find they decided to close early. Their website, door and recording shows 8pm but here it is 5:33pm and they are closed. I will not be back due to that because I just wasted time and gas for them to just close early.

My mother ordered a to go plate fromBlue Plate. On 84 West. Dothan Alabama.There beef tips an rice. When I tookThe order home to her. She tasted the tips an rice. And immediately threw it all in the garbageThe food had so much salt in it, You could not eat it. Thats all you could taste is the salt.Blue plate does not have good cooks.

You know when covid hit I ate here daily it felt like however it has also went DOWNHILL since....I love to support a local family facility that is the credit of the 3 stars and not 1. Yall are better than this now darn-it....tonight I posted to go order was told to wait 10 minutes I arrive set in the front for a couple minutes then was told to go to the back to pick up my order stood there a couple minutes no big deal food was already sitting there I get it and leave now mind you I dont live a half a mile from the place get home and it is cold lukewarm this is all 20 minutes from the initial contact.... And I know yall are better than microwave service but thats what I felt like I received tonight! Cough* the past few times. Come on team!

I love this restaurant! Ive been there a few times and havent had a bad experience yet. Wait staff is prompt and attentive. Everything Ive eaten there to date has been delicious. If you close your eyes you could imagine being in someones grannys kitchen table. Definitely worth the time to stop in

All three of us thought the food was great. A couple highlights were fresh made potato chips and you can get the dessert of the day as a side.

Good. Fried chicken is softer than Country fried steak. Great service

This is my go to place for veggies. However, if you like black pepper coating your steamed cabbage this is the place for you. All I could taste was coarse ground black pepper. I attempted to pick it out of the mashed potatoes. The biscuit was dry. I dipped it in syrup. The butter beans were good. A waste of money.

I enjoy stopping into this country style restaurant on my way to/from the beach! On my last stop I had the fried chicken breast plate with 2 veggies. Freshly friend split chicken breast and the sides were good as well! They have fresh cakes baked locally. The strawberry cake was delicious!

Dressing was slamming,,,, server was on point,,, satisfied customers,,, and Im glad Jason is back... Request him when you go eat some of the goodness at this restaurant

Wasnt very good. Suggested by my mother for us to eat there . The idea of the place is nice but the food doesnt do it. Meat was terrible. Food temp on the side items was cold and taste like it had been in a steam table all day. Im sure there are great peak hours for this place but really was not luring enough to give a second chance during lunch or busy time where food is rotated quickly. The service on the other hand was excellent! We had a great lady take care of us.

Today, Valerie and I ate here and believe me I loved the cornbread!Everything we ordered was great and the service was even better ♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏 Shop with them because I know we will be back!!!

The Blue Plate restaurant was good southern cooking, large portions and a lot of fried options. The onion rings were great! Alabama is the place for catfish, none was grilled and very tasty. The chicken fried steak was good with a few stringy parts. The fried okra was a little greasy. But all in all we enjoyed our meal.

Its like Thanksgiving all over again @ Blue Plate! The hospitality is just like the food *FANTASTIC *!
