The Blue Bell Inn - in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom
Its an ideal place to meet my scattered family halfway! Good food and pleasant helpful staff. A lovely area outside. Dogs welcome!
Impromptu lunch was delicious."Posh" fish fingers with best batter ever.Bacon and brie baguette - delicious!Highly recommended.
A proper local pub with good food, good ale and great service. Staff couldnt be more helpful.A single spot for campervan stay over, shower and toilet facilities shared with the quiet campsite.
Stop there for a dinner while walking my 1st Coast to CoastFriendly service, nice menu and well cooked dishes
We were looking for somewhere to stop on the way back to Leeds from the east coast. The Blue Bell Inn is a lovely country pub with shady beer garden to the rear. Good selection of beers, the staff were great, menu looks good too, will try the food next time!
Walking the coast to coast, hoping for a bit of hospitality and humanity but didn’t get it here. No advance booking, no food. No wonder pubs are dying off.Following this review the situation was explained re hard to find chef etc. I accepted they are doing their best and increased star rating.
Great pub, friendly atmosphere, good food.
One night stay in camper van 1 hardstanding, toilet and shower with sink for washing up very dog friendly good food in pub at good prices
Went for a meal. Food was really good. Well definitely be going back.
I stayed in one of the rooms recently while doing the Coast to Coast. The room was clean, but I feel it was rather expensive for what it was, when comparing it to other properties along the route. The tiny room did the job for one night and was clean and comfy, just £10 over the top in my opinion. The food and drink in the bar was spot on and pretty much priced as I’d expect.3 stars for the room5 for the pub
Perfect Sunday lunch en route on a hot day. Roasts like they should be done, with everything you want served by friendly staff.WELL worth a detour.
Pssst, keep it to yourself or all those tourists will jump on it.Only my second visit in twenty years but still the fantastic pub it has always been.
Great little camp site, last but one night out from the end, or second from the beginning, (if youre going the wrong wayof the Coast-to-Coast walk.Reasonably sheltered from winds, the ground is good for pitching: pretty nearly flat, with a slightly raised plateau nearer the road and takes pegs well. However, only one toilet dedicated to the camp site.Best part though is the pub. Very friendly and welcoming, they had four different real ales on tap. Food was good too, breakfast especially and reasonably priced.
We stayed here as part of the coast to coast but parked up in the car park with our campervan. There is a toilet, shower and washing up sink available all day and night. Theres a lovely beer garden and a pleasant interior. We had an enjoyable meal in the evening.
Food tremendous!Sam the owner, fantastic!Welcome from the locals, 1st class
Super pub - hospitable, good service, great food, open fires and sunny outside space. What more could you need ? 😊
The best Sunday lunch I have had in a long time very friendly staff Yorkshire puddings light and crispy just how they should be .you need to book to avoid disappointment x
Lovely pub, warm and friendly with a lovely fire. Met some lovely people today, thankyou
So friendly and warm, with a great choice of beers, also dog friendly . Definitely some place I’ll be visiting again for food and drink. Somewhere I’d never been before but now I know it’s there I’ll be going back.
Lovely traditional pub with a good selection of drinks and really generous food offerings. Highly recommended!
I recently enjoyed an excellent Sunday roast dinner along with 5 other friends and family on a cold, rainy autumn afternoon. The pub, however, was very warm and welcoming, with a roaring fire at each end of the bar. This, along with friendly and attentive staff, combined to create a nice cosy atmosphere.Alongside a varied and extensive menu were their roast beef, chicken and pork Sunday lunches. All came with additional side bowls of vegetables and gravy boats. The food was delicious, with good hearty portions and plenty for everyone. The costs were also very reasonable and I would highly recommend a visit to this establishment which is only a few minutes from the A19.
Amazing food and a really food atmosphere! Stayed on their tent campsite during coast to coast walk and the Inn is very popular with walkers. Id happily come back again and the chicken parmo was just beautiful!
What a welcome place of collapse The Blue Bell was after a long, wet day of walking on the Coast to Coast.Lovely pub with really friendly and welcoming staff, good beer and food - a first Parmo for me - comfortable rooms and a really good breakfast.
Do not even try to eat the whole Hotshot Chicken Parmo. I’m warning you. It may be delicious, but it’s monstrously calorific.Good ales, charming locals, smiling staff.Other good and not fatal options on the menu.
Found this little Pub, such nice friendly staff , and above all Quality, Tasty food.A big thank you to all involved for making the end of our visit to North Yorkshire one to remember.
Lovely staff, nice pub with good beer, food was nice too. Room was a tad small, but clean and comfortable. Nice place.
Great service great food, not expensive, nice atmosphere and good ale..definitely would come here again..
Good food, large portions, good value. Friendly staff and locals. Good range of beers.
Stayed overnite in motorhome, just one pitch, foned before to book in. No EHU, but excellent place..food..atmosphere
Amazing food! We had the bruschetta to start, we are big fans of tomato and bruschetta, this was the best we have ever had! Equally the main was excellent. We sat in the beer garden, beautiful views and the staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely little find.
Lush little pub, we camped for a night in a quiet spot, its got showers and bathrooms available. Highly reccomend the breakfast, £7.50pp but you get everything you can think of.
Perfect place for the weary hiker on the wainwright coast to coast. You can pitch your tent for £10 in the beer garden and have breakfast for £7.50. Toilet and shower facilities. Drinks are great and the staff are friendly lovely pub and a welcoming sight at the end of a long days walk.
Found this lovely little place by accident, the food you fab but you really need to book as only small, lots of people doing the coast 2 coast walk and camping in the grounds great atmosphere
Nice little pub not far from main road in a beautiful part of the country. Serve deliceous food, and good beer.
Lovely meal in a very friendly Inn ,nothing was too much trouble ,also diabetic friendly so menu was altered to cater for him , will definitely be going again
Good nights camping on the coast to coast. Good facilities for a pub campsite and heavily recommend the stake and ale pie + sticky toffee after a days walk. Great for coast to coasting
Just what me and my partner we’re looking for after a long day walking in the rain! Was greeted with a friendly smile and a Cosy fire. This place has a great atmosphere, along with really tasty food at great prices! Definitely recommend!
Enjoyed a drink and meal after a walk over the hills. A good varied menu available and food was delicious.
What a find! Friendly, local pub with great selection of drinks and home-cooked food. Staff are always friendly and make you feel at home whenever youre there.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and good service. Very good prices as well. This is an excellent pub in an unexpected location.
Great place to camp in tent. Great service at the bar and a lot of nice events are being held in the bar. For example a quiz-night every Friday.
Nice country pub. Had dinner here during an overnight stop in nearby Ingleby Arncliffe.Nice menu with some usual pub favourites, although I had a local favourite “Parmesan chicken” which I thought was very tasty.Service was good, there was a nice atmosphere, with a lot of fellow walkers dining (its right on the famous Coast to Coast route).
Friendly lively atmosphere. Great place for cyclists to drop off. Nice place to stay B&B if exploring the area.
We had their chicken Parmesan - just excellent. The cheese smothered chicken was juicy and spiced perfectly. The accompanying salad was a great match. Both came as generous portions and the price at £8 made it a good value.
This establishment is a hidden gem. Very reasonable prices with wonderful welcoming staff. Beautiful fish and chips cooked to the standard of Rick Stein infact superior having eaten in Padstow and Falmouth. Well done
We stayed here with a group of friends last weekend. It ticks all the boxes - great value food superbly cooked, real ales, roaring fires, lovely accommodation, friendly helpful staff, beautiful scenery and right on the Coast to Coast path. What more could you want?
My daughter and I camped in the small garden on our Coast to Coast walk. The pub is excellent with staff that cant do enough to look after you and keep you going. Gorgeous food. We will go back, hopefully soon.
