174 Queen Victoria St, London EC4V 4EG, Kinkala
Traditional pub with Henry Poole's Art Nouveau reliefs reflecting the friary that once stood there.
An excellent old pub with plenty of character. Great for after work drinks, particularly on their little terrace in summer if you can get a seat
Fantastic decor, good beer, great place to visit.
Really enjoyed myself at this pub Really friendly staff. Would recommend for drinks, we didnt have food but its not to say it wasnt good it looked lovely when it came out and plates were empty going back.
Nice pub with great architecture from outside and also interior is more than interesting!✌️🏛🪨 Good beer, just kitchen was closed too early so dinner next time.👍🍻🥓🍔🥪
The pub itself is a beautiful building both inside and out and worth a visit for this alone. It’s part of a huge pub company and the drinks and service are average. Food is standard pub food.
Super atmosphere! Super delicious fish and chips! Super friendly staff! Super…SUPER crowded in the evening. There is a door on the right side of that inn which you can enter and avoid the massive crowd you see behind us in the picture. Be advised, if you reserve a table, they only hold it for 15 minutes after your reservation time. We’ve benefited from this because the person who made the reservation was late and we got their table.
Crowded is to be expected but the staffing really needs work. Not sure who to serve and no idea who was next in the queue, 3 times I was crowded out of the way by a member of staff stacking menus where I was standing and then the best part was a member of staff saying "You can see Im busy! For f##ks sake!" to another customer that asked for a drink. The only reason it gets 2 stars is that it is right next to the station. Save yourself the £6.75 price of a pint.
Good pub to suss out in London. Quirky interior with lots of nooks & crannies. Very busy late afternoon when businesses, traders, office works etc come in. Then its got good noisy atmosphere. But, be warned, its quite crampt inside so, when busy, its difficult to move around. Obviously look forward to London £prices☹️. But worth a trip.
Brilliant bar staff and patrons. Had couple lovely pints of old Rosie and stupidly left our shopping there. Couple of hours later returned it had been handed in and the staff were so helpful to retrieve it. Awesome pub as always
Lovely customer service, incredible tasty food and pretty fine beer. If you want to visit an old English pub you will visit the right spot here.
Here for the interiors and old pub experience. Didn’t disappoint! Place has so much character. Wouldn’t necessarily come here for food but the beer and ambience made up for it. Service can be slow because they’re usually busy but staff at that time was really nice.
Had an absolutely lovely visit. The staff were really helpful and friendly. They also have some really nice gins! Highly recommend
Great historic pub with lots off history but about the only pub in London that serves Guinness In a normal pint glass and apparently doesnt have any according to the the miserable bar lady behind the pumps, but to be fair her sarcasm made up for it (not)
Had a pleasant meal with my family here midweek. I was greeted at the bar with a wonderful barman to whom I got chatting. Tom is a credit to the business with his friendly manner, professionalism and knowledge of the establishment. Alternatives were suggested by Tom when some items on the menu wasn’t available. Great visit!
Lovely historic building in an interesting location. For a city pub it is surprisingly cosy if you find the right placeGood selection of drinks and friendly staffGreat for a night out with good atmosphere around the outside seating and standingOpportunity to meet folk from all over as well... recommended for a night on that area of town.
Good place, with nice selection of beers. Can get very busy, very fast. Only thing I would recommend it to organise the outdoor bit better as it looks messy and with possibility to fit more tables and seating.
A place not to miss. A good selection of ales and lagers, a nice choice of bites and one of the oldest Arts and Crafts pub interiors. Recommended!
A lovely trip to The Blackfrairs Pub, London, spoilt.Food was great, the two chaps at the bar were great very friendly and helpful, the total opposite from the lady who came to pick up our dishes. After wed finished our meals, the manager of the establishment came to take our dishes. She didnt bother asking if wed enjoyed our meal and whether everything was satisfactory (like you do in all other restaurants/pubs).Instead with a very grumpy almost unpleasant demeanour, she rushed to take the dishes in doing this a knife fell from a dish and landed on my shirt (thus staining it), no apologies were forthcoming from her. I picked it for her and give it to her, no thanks from her, wish Id left it on the floor for her to pick it up. Then off she trundled off.Could put it down to busy place stress etc. but she was fine and friendly with the four gentlemen sat behind us. It seemed to be just us, being British Indian, not sure. Hopefully not for a pub in a tourist area.
Really nice old traditional British Pub - everything is old. No AC inside however that is to be expected in a bar this old. Nice outside seating area and a large selection of beers including Guinness, Amstel, Peroni, Camden Pale Ale, London Pride etc.
What a great spot. Atmosphere is fantastic. Wish I had time to get back there before heading home.
Nice pub for a business meeting with a great range of beer and good food!
One of the iconic bars in London. Worth a visit for a beer or an ale and a hamburger and chips.
Wonderful pub with a great history. Good real ales and lagers with good food too. Always one to get to and not to be missed either.
Great pub ...really beautiful and historical. Built in 1875 and was originally a Dominican friary. The architecture and decor is fascinating. Not to mention its collection of brews . The pies 🥧 are recommended, definitely a must try
I went with friends for lunch. I ordered the chips and pulled beef which was excellent. The waitress also brought over five small pieces of chicken. I called her back and said I hadnt ordered that. She went off, returned and said it was OK I could have it. I assumed as it was a mistake it was one of those have it on us situations. I then realised afterwards that I had been charged for it. It just spoiled what could have been a nice experience.
Buzzing atmosphere, quirky decor and friendly service in a prime location. Cant go wrong!
Simply a great place to unwind, staff are friendly. Booking recommended as this pub is popular 😃. Great decor. Enjoy. M
Absolutely love this pub, the art nouveau decor is amazing. Its definitely worth a visit. Its got little snugs inside for sitting down to enjoy your drink.
Pub with unique historic interior. A good range of cask ales. Can get very busy, but on a hot day, sometimes there are seats inside while its really busy on the outside drinking area. Generally well-staffed, so service at the bar is usually good, even at busy times.
Amazing pub. The inside takes you way back in time with beautiful carved maurels on the walls. With a wide range of beers larger and spirits. Unfortunately dunny have time to eat. But the menu looked good and the food looked spot on.
Second visit here now and both times the food has been excellent. Building itself is very nice with a lovely interior and perfectly located outside of Blackfriars station so will be our first stop for future visits to London.Good selection of local ales too for those likeimg their IPAs.
Finally made it back to this little gem of a pub after the Covid years. I wasnt disappointed at all. The service was really good especially as we booked to eat late on a Sunday. The food was pub grub and all four meals we had were perfectly acceptable for the price. No complaints at all.
An unusual and potentially beautiful pub interior but not very clean, rather dilapidated and rude staff. A woman behind the bar was deliberately and unnecessarily rude, barking at us during a food order because the menu wasnt clear and we didnt know what was available. Its a shame when staff show such disdain for their customers. The food however was standard but nicely prepared.
Really nice and historical pub in the city of London. Make sure to walk around the place and check the different decorations while you have your pints. Naturally it is a touristic pub, but definitely worth a visit.
Great place to eat fish and chips.

That’s a truly iconic pub! Beautiful in and out. It feels like being in a small museum. This old building used to be a friary, and the walls in the bar are filled with artistic metalwork, depicting monks performing their daily duties. The restaurant area is even prettier, it’s like a tiny temple, with brilliant stonework. It’s honestly a must-go!
Amazing details inside. Fantastic historical ambiance. Great beer on tap. I highly recommend.
Lovely little pub with lots of character great atmosphere and outside seating.
service was good and food served quickly.a rather reduced menus & virtually no puds.so choose carefully.veg too Al dente and the pie wasnt as good as last time.atmosphere good and of course fantastic surroundings.
This is one pub youd want to stop at whilst in London. Its an unusual building with a ln awesome interior - reliefs of monks on the inner walls and a seating area at the back that marble panels/enclaves. Quite unique and impressive especially for a tourist seeking out an interesting place to have a quick pint. It can get busy and folks are often standing outside with their beers. We really liked it when weve visited London and have been here a number of times on our trips in the past and looking forward when I am in London next to drop in for a drink.(Food looked good but we have not tried any yet - perhaps next visit).
First visit for me here. Decent cask collection. Only a flying visit but will definitely be going back
Lovely little find in the heart of London. The decor is brilliant. Staff were good, fast and efficient. Food was good too - not amazing, but worth the money - and I will definitely be back in the future
Original Art Nuveau and fully operational pub. Something of true rarity, especially for Secession school of Art Nuveau lovers!Great atmosphere too, plenty of drink and food, very popular.
It looks just wow! It feels history inside, very interesting interior (and exterior), friendly and helpful staff, great beer and nice meal. Couldnt be better.
Excellent pub, stunning and interesting on the outside, even more so on the inside. Its like drinking in a museum (even has leaflets to explain the historyyet still retains the authentic pub vibe. Well worth a visit and loads of seating outdoors of the weather is nice.
Although looking ropey on the outside due to scaffolding, my favourite pub in London is a true gem. Lucky to find it almost empty on hottest day of year, was able to take these photos. Its been packed out on previous visits. Oh, and great beer and food too.
A lovely traditional pub with impressive artwork and leaded lights.I had half of a London Pride for £2.65.Great location, next to the tube and Blackfriars Bridge
This place instantly became in one of my favourites, nice beer selection, amazing food and very fast service by the kind staff. This is the yardstick of how an excellent pub should be!
This pub is so great. We happened to walk by it on an evening stroll and I’m so happy we went in. The food is amazing (I got toad in the holeand very well presented, the atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly. I also got mulled wine which they offer during the holiday season - so fun. I will definitely come back :)
