The Blackberry Cafe - Cafe in Cill Chainnigh, Ireland
Amazing homemade or locally sourced food. Terrific staff who turn these ingredients into the most delicous food and coffee.
On a rainy Thursday afternoon we stopped by for a bite of lunch around 2:30pm. The most warm welcome by the two ladies working on the day. Service great, food and drinks great - and great value.
Great cafe, delicious breakfast and great service.
Lovely food, great service friendly staff
Delicious toasted sandwiches and very good coffee,
Recommended by staff at Jerpoint Abby. What a gem. Easy to find on the Main St. Small bright cafe with some sidewalk seating. The food was excellent. Tomato soup thats worth the trip by itself and grilled ham & cheese sandwich. Simple, done perfectly and delicious. Did I mention fast AND friendly service.
Extremely expensive , no wifi
My toasted sandwich was delicious but my partners brown soda bread with goat cheese roulade was exactly that - just those two things, which, obviously was quite dry and disappointing. We requested a carafe of water but when the glasses arrived my partner remarked to the waitress that they didnt look clean. She responded dismissively that they had just come out of the dishwasher. When the water arrived, we noticed (after drinking somethat there were particles of food floating around inside the carafe. When I pointed this out, the carafe was taken away - but not replaced by a clean one! Its unlikely well be returning to The Blackberry on our next visit to Thomastown.
Good food at reasonable price, staff are helpful
Great food. Lovely spot.
I always call in here for a scone or coffee..great for vegans or watch world go by.Atm right beside it.fresh food n friendly staff..4 stars
Lovely café, great oat-milk latte and gluten-free options. Car park just around the corner (with café in your left, follow left and turn right into car park).
We had a lovely Sandwich and a scone, very friendly staff.
Excellent cafe, great coffee, and scones.
Cute, quaint cafe with nice selection of food, pastries, and tea/coffee drinks and friendly staff. We always stop here when we visit Thomastown.
Nice all day breakfast sandwiches and great coffee. Fast service and good people watching spot
I understand that you are not a public bathroom and have no obligation in that regard but I was horrified to hear that my almost 80 year old mother was refused the bathroom in an emergency unless she made a purchase. Not very community spirited at all to do that to an OAP, and embarrass her to boot, particularly since the cafe was half empty at the time.
Busy lunchtime. Took care to sanitise the table for us. Tasty goats cheese quiche served with very fresh crisp salad served with vinaigrette. Plenty of tea. Good atmosphere. A range of locals and travellers.
Its a lovely friendly spot to have just a cuppa or light snack. Staff friendly and attentive. Seems to be well frequented, which is always a good sign.
The Blackberry Cafe is something out of a maeve binchy novel. Its so homely and welcoming inside. There are lashings of fabulous old fashioned cakes and proper lunches that would satisfy any appetite. Perfect place for an overdue catch up or just to escape into paradise for a while. Coffee is excellent too!
One of my favourite places in thomastown, food is so good staff are lovely, 💜💜💜
Lovely Coffee and lunch, friendly service, indoor and outdoor seating.
Had a bacon sandwich in brown bread it was very nice but a bit pricey
Wonderful place to go. Quick service and friendly staff. Food is always delicious.
Nice to be able to sit outside on the corner of the street in Thomastown & have a coffee. We had a light lunch. The toastie was nice but make sure to ask for knife and fork. The toilets were clean. Its mostly sandwiches and paninis there.Only recommendation is they could do with more self cleaning materials for the tables outside.
Beautiful cafe lovely food and staff with plenty of outdoor seating. Well worth a visit you wont be disappointed
Delicious food. Generous helpings. Lovely spot to sit in the sun and watch the world go by.
Helpful polite staff, restricted menu, but we made it work, the food nice coffee was lovely.
OK.. outside tables wobbly on pavement so two tables had spillages whilst we were there.. coffee and hot chocolate nice, iced coffee good too but didnt eat there..
Such a nice cafe and pastries were so delicious would go again next time Im in Thomas town
Lovely homemade cakes buns would definitely recommend a stop here ,staff very nice too
Fabulous service and great food and coffee as always.
Food and coffee really lovely ... Little on the experience side.Very friendly, helpful staff
Absolutely worth checking this place out !!Everything excellent !!
Cute coffee corner for cakes and much more! Service is thoughtful. Stop by when you are around and you won’t regret it. We had coffees and delicious mince pie.
Great little cafe with fresh tasting soups and sandwiches. Indoor and outdoor seating available with COVID safety standards implemented indoors. Great place for a quick and simple lunch or coffee before heading to see the local sites in the area
Probably not fair to review at the moment given the restrictions but I found the staff dismissive , but it seems very popular with locals who were sitting all over the pavement . Maybe if you are local you are made feel less like a bother
Really nice little spot to stop off for a coffee or a bite to eat. Excellent quality and very friendly staff combines into a cosy atmosphere
Came here repeatedly throughout our stay. Every soup they make is absolute gold. The bread with the soup matched it wonderfully. Very good coffee that was made for scones and creme. The tuna panini with corn and cheese was a cut above. Carrot cake and creme, lemon cake with creme... apple tart with creme....get the picture? Also, mocha was very good. Just the right level of sweet without being overpowering. Their soup will sell out daily so come early enough to try them both. If you get the chance at the butternut squash and carrot or the tomato and basil soup, youre in for a real treat. Their organic vegetable and traditional tomato soup is wonderful, too. Just get the soup. :)
Honest to goodness food and drink served in a cosy setting. Child friendly with smaller portions available for the little appetite. Highly recommended!
Great food , friendly welcoming and warm
Great service and great food.
Absolutely love this place wonderful food and beautiful little cafe!
My wife had beautiful home made tomato soup with lovely brown bread and two coffees, Apple pie.The service was excellent, we were seated outside ,we enjoyed ourselves, we will recommend to our friends and family.
Just been to this adorable cafe, such friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, food absolutely yummy and cake gorgeous! Definitely pay a visit if you are in the area, highly recommend
Nice cafe, friendly staff, good service and good food. Tad pricier that its rivals in the same area but a cosy spot and nice to drop in for a bite or coffee.
Soup just awful, not one of the four of us liked it. Scrambled eggs overcooked. Charged 8.99 for a bit of dry egg with a little bit of carrot and beetroot and then changed extra for coffee, even though what had been requested was a breakfast without meat!!!! Didnt even get any toast!!!
Lovely little cafe on the main street in Thomastown. I got a lovely warm breakfast panini complete with a hot latte. Served by very friendly staff. I’d definitely recommend the Blackberry Cafe!
Lovely locally sourced foods.. Gorgeous salads, Paninis and cakes. Friendly, efficient staff in lovely surroundings. Highly recommended.
Great hot chocolate and fruit cake. Good small town feeling (at least out of tourist season). Everyone who comes in knows everyone else. We are the only blow ins! So no one says hello to us.
