Spotlessly clean, even the carpets. Superbly friendly owners. Not officially a real ale pub as generally cater for draught lager/cider; BUT the two handpulled pumps they do have usually have locals brews served perfect! Timothy Taylors Landlord currently here, beautiful pint at only £3.40. #HowDoTheyDoIt 👍😄

Great little pub with some fantastic outdoor space front and back. Out back has a shelter with heaters, and even blankets 🙂The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable.

This was the place to be. The old manager was a great guy who took no rubbish from anyone. The new managers seem OK but sit at end of bar with their friends and thats about it. Its clean and the beers good

The black horse is a little gem of a pub in the heart of Thornton village.Dee and Ian the hosts are so warm,friendly and welcoming and have always got time for you.The black horse has a fantastic atmosphere, gets quite busy and caters for everyone all year round. Theres a lovely beer garden to sit in in the summer and when winter is here its nice and toasty inside with the heat from the wood burning stove.So come on give this little pub a try!

Thornton has lost many pubs, but this one remains. Its worth the visit -- Top form real ales and a warm welcome await the visitor.Not a food venue, however, a pint and a visit to the "Bronte birthplace" on Market Street is no bad idea😆
