Canal-side pub with vintage wooden interior and huge garden, providing kids' games inside and out.
Large comfortable Fullers pub - not too busy on a Sunday lunchtime...prompted by the young lady serving to ask for a CAMRA discount - first class!
Lovely company but there was no hot food available that evening due to staff shortages
One of the finest beer and service offered by them. Lovely atmosphere and scenic beauty if you seated outside. Absolutely worth a visit 😍
Love the place... Nice place hangout with friends and also with family. They got nice beer garden at back and cozy indoor serving area.
A really nice local pub with a really nice drop of Real Ale.
It’s a good place, located by the canal. You can enjoy the view during the day, but during nights it’s pretty much like any other bars. The ambience inside is basic. Not too great, but not bad either. Prices are affordable. They renovated their kitchen recently and have very limited food options when I went there. And the food was not satisfactory. Anyway, location-wise, it’s a place that you can consider.
Great atmosphere staff are really friendly made us feel at home even though we are from nz
Great as normal cant wait for the jubilee part next Friday 😀
Lovely pub situated by the canal with a large sized beer garden good service with very friendly staff
Nice garden area but venue is limited in what it offers. Food is limited to just snacks and there a low choice of gin.
I also visited a year ago. Range of fullers real ales at outer London pricesBig pub with canal side garden. Very dog friendly and nice to me as well.Sadly, Brexit derived staff shortages meant the kitchen was closed on both my visits.
A top class brilliant pub. Has indoor seating and a lovely beer garden adjacent to the canal.Top notch cask ales and the staff is super polite and friendly. They also have live music on select Saturdays and the band that played on Aug 13th was amazing. The food is also top notch (especially the burger and the triple cooked chipsalthough the portions were a bit small. Also a small update - they are having a kitchen staff shortage and hence you are only getting bar snacks as on date of this review. However, they are kind enough to let us bring our own food or deliveroo it :)
Great location and excellent beer garden. Really friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of Fullers bottled beers.
Excellent staff, great selection of alcoholic drinks and really charming establishments. 10/10 would recommend.
Clean and tidey place staff very good only problem very expensive drinks
Fantastic pub with a great garden. Cracking Sunday roast as well. Only downside is, that its the most expensive in the area. But, I guess you get what you pay for?
Lovely to have lunch and a drink in their garden.
Lovely pub in Greenford right beside the Canal, the garden is a pleasure to sit in and the Pub itself has 2 floors of dining and drinking space. Very welcoming staff.
lovely plsce for drinks and a catch up with friends lots of outdoor seating
Great pub with darts but kitchen isnt really great so if looking for eat and drink rather go to railway down the road
Gorgeous pub and nice walk alongside the canal
Really nice friendly place. A friend was playing in a band there so went for the first time. Will definitely go back.
I would’ve given it a 5 star because the short blonde young girl was super friendly but there was an older lady who had a go at us for laughing outside. She stated ‘I got an 8 year old in there who doesn’t need to hear you cackling’ and stormed off in a huff. LADY, if you don’t enjoy your job LEAVE! No sympathy for you. She had a go at other groups for enjoying themselves as well. What’s an 8 year old doing in a pub at 12am, get a childminder you cheapskate. Poor customer service from her. She was obviously in a mood, entitled stupid woman
This is a classic pub set in beautiful gardens and a canal running beside it. You can sit in the pubs balcony overlooking the garden shaded by trees and a beautiful lawn. Inside the pub it has superb vintage furniture and warm colours that just make you feel you are on holiday in some country location. The balcony has IR heaters if you are a cold PERSON. We went in wowing and left the pub smiling. They also do cooked meals towards the middle and end of week.
Nice place , nice staff ....food menu was off for ages , looking forward to going back to try
A nice pub, clean and able to serve any drink you like.
Not the greatest service & very tired interiors. The food could do with alot more attention to detail- but still tasty.Averagely priced - an ok fullers pub - but not nearly as good as the red lion barnes or the duke of kent in ealing
Sunday afternoon we popped in for a drink and in general we were quite disappointed . Kids screaming and playing football on the back between the tables made us feel uncomfortable . Not very professional service from the member of the staff having ice cream behind the bar when serving the customer’s.. price’s are ridiculously high ..!!! 1x Double gin and tonic ( not too sure if it was double and 1x desperado’s beer we have paid over £15 ..Same drinks in the pub by the Greenford station under £10 .(drinks even better)
Fabulous Sunday lunch; the best pub meal Ive had for ages. Great location by the canal, very good meat (turkey and beefwith all the trimmings. The sticky toffee pudding with ice cream also hit the spot. Helpful and friendly staff. Very highly recommended.
Nice local pub vibe. Friendly staff, great canal views and outdoor seating (dog friendly). Food is so so and theres a projector when sport is on.Update: food not back until mid march 2022
Impeccable service from Aaron as usual. Delicious food and drinks, the black horse has always been a family favourite. Raz and the team always go above and beyond!
Great evening out. The vegan nachos were so good we forgot to take a picture and the plant based burger was great. The staff were really friendly and welcoming.
If you sit outside then they encourage you to order via the QR code but they never brought the order and I could not get anyone to serve me the drink I had paid for. In the end I had to leave without ever receiving my drink as I had to be somewhere. Awful service and feel cheated out of my money.EDIT: I decided to give the pub another chance as I was again passing by while walking my dog on the nearby canal. The same thing happened and no drink after half an hour but at least there were more staff around to speak to. I will not be giving this place a third chance and I wouldn’t suggest anyone else does either. To the establishment that reached out, the order IDs for your investigation are 400743663 and 436079506.
Fantastic pub a d superb spot for starting your adventure on grand union canal. Plenty of space and free parking once you are customer. We are going to Greenford regularly for kayaking. And once finishing what a place to have a good food and a drink. Lovely food superb staff.Highly recommend.
Went here for the 1st time in years as arranged for work drinks (remember those?)and pleasantly surprised. The beer garden is adorable, staff are fun n engaging. Drinks selection was the best surprise of the evening with an above average rum selection even stocking Barcardi Negro which is not easy to find. There was a party being held but the pub layout ensures that the party and general public arent on top of each other. Looking forward to going again. 1 of the few real nice pubs left in the local area for sure.
Nice place for a stop on a bike trip along the Grand Union Canal - bike friendly. Mostly pub classics on the menu, but with signature twist. And that twist may not be to everyones liking unfortunately. I had haddock and chips. Fish was super succulent, falling apart at the touch and you could tell right away its fresh and cooked properly (usually fish comes wildly overcooked in pubs - batter is rock hard and fish resembles calamari in texture which wasnt the case here), so its not like chefs dont know their job. Im sure some people will appreciate the in-house made chunky tartar sauce and artisan approach to crushed peas, but sadly - those were not to my taste. A regular Heinz tartar sauce and ASDA value mushy peas would do better for me - sorry. The taste of accompanimets was simply overwhelming by comparison with the taste of the centrepiece of the dish.Staff was there. Nothing spectacular about service, but also absolutely nothing to complain about - they were there and they did their job.Probably theres a reason why gate to the canal was locked, but still - its a noticeable inconvenience for passer byes on canal side, may even discourage them from entering. Glassware and plates were collected from outside tables on a continuous basis, but tables werent wiped immediately.Overall - recommended for a pit stop on a bike trip down the canal. Solid four stars.
Really awesome place! Went for a nice lagerbeer after returning from work. The garden is large and by the canal and the interior looks really well maintained. Staff were helpful and polite too and theres a great selection of drinks. There were only bar snacks available at the time, I believe this is a covid rule, otherwise I would love to have a meal there!
A hidden gem of a pub. Much bigger than I realized. Easy location, large beer garden, and right next to the canal. Friendly staff and food was delicious
Nice place to dine with the family or just for a relaxing outing. Beautiful place, nice and friendly staff, a great menu, excellent prices. Clean and adequate safety measures. We will definitely be back! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I recommended this pub. Well, it was very successful. the staff members were so friendly and we felt excellent. The food was just great. We loved this place very much and we shall definitely come back again. we highly recommend this place. *****
Lovely location by the canal, views from the balconies, good sized garden. Bit of a limited menu (due to covid or brexit possibly?), but enough choices for me. Super easy ordering via QR code and app, zero problems, very fast service from very nice staff
Great place to have food and drink specially when the weather is great. Nice seating area at the back.
Good friendly service, excellent food. All dishes were thoroughly enjoyable, tasty and good size portions. Lovely meal and drinks by the canal. Thoroughly enjoyed my day with my wife and daughter there. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend
I have been here 3 times already and I felt in love with this place since the first one.The restaurant is so nice, the views of the canal very beautiful, but the best thing here is the staff. They were always attentive and caring, best night ever!I will definitely come back.
Go in, check in with the NHS Covid app, take a seat, scan the QR code with your phones camera and you can order and pay. Nice food, nice drinks, and nice staff.
A bit on the pricy side. The food is reasonable and portions do not justify the cost. Great location by the canal on a warm sunny day. Can order from the table and staff are very friendly and courteous.
Great pub right next to the canal, boaters water tap available outside. Huge garden, much needed for stretching your legs.
Has good bands. Good food and the drinks are average price for the area.Sits on the Grand Union canal. Garden area for dining.
Pretty pub, nice canal location, was on the look out for somewhere decent and respectable to host a wake.Ordered 3 half pints of Orange juice / lemonade. £11.85.Barley cold OJ, no ice, ambient carton of OJ and a small dash of lemonade for a quid on top from a squirt gun. £3.95 each. Pretty cheeky.(mixer sized oj + mixer sized lemonade = £2 or so I thought..)Should have ordered beer, would have saved myself a few bob. How can oj/Lemonade cost twice as much as beer?Wasnt offered a credit card receipt too. I wonder why.We also noticed we were sitting ontop of dirty discarded socks as we were leaving. Not something you expect on a pub sofa, especially at these prices. Will find somewhere else now. Disappointed.
Great location by the canal.Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff.Good drink selection. Delicious food.
