Best roast in West London probably. A little bit expensive but I suppose you pay for quality. Top notch serving sizes for all meats (I had the beef it was brilliantlots of veg and properly crunchy potatoesExcellent selection of beers, and prices are reasonable.

Great beer selection good atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful a must visit for beer lovers.

Food, was nice, a bit pricey but expect thats due to the fresh ingredients. Our meal portions were much smaller than images shown in previous reviews. More snack food than a meal, unless you ordered a burger or steak. We had older teens with us and it was sprung on us quite late when we went to order @19.45, they had to be gone by 20:30. It really spoilt the evening as we rushed our food. It was my husbands birthday. A sworm of staff descended on the table to clear the plates/glasses/cutlery as the last mouthful went into our mouths. Very local vibe, newbies not encouraged. And certainly not children! Some staff really lovely others were very abrupt/rude.

A cracking pub snuggled off the main street in Brentford. You need to book Sunday roast. Three of us ate - we chose lamb, chicken and I continued my search for a perfect nut roast and went for the veggie option.Portions are big - Yorkshire puds are the size of a rugby players fist! Vegetables were lovely. The chicken and lamb apparently excellent.The nut roast looked great on the plate but lacked taste - quinoa was not a favourite ingredient in this.Having said, nice experience, not overly friendly but great ale and wine choices.

Recommend to me by friends! Just an absolutely neighbourhood gem, outstanding roast! Will revisit soon.Thanks so much folks.

Great food selection at reasonable prices for London. Was absolutely packed. We were lucky to get a seat to eat.

A beautiful pub with a nice garden, lovely people and a fabulous drink selection. Would have been 5* but recently food menu has really decreased in quality - much fewer vegan and vegetarian options and rather small portions. But if youre just going for drinks, this is a great pub.

I’ve been in here several times now, both with friends and just for a beer and chill in the garden. Every time the bar staff have impressed me with their enthusiasm for beers and general fantastic demeanour. If I had a very minor complaint I wish they’d open the kitchen a little later but if you want an interesting, fun pub to drink at 10/10 would recommend

Good food good service and good choice of drinks. Fairly spacious both indoors and outdoors. Big garden with covered tables. Lots of beer and drink choices that are different from regular pub offerings. Service was nice and with a smile. Food was worth the money and location is nice too. Easy to recommend.

Have lost some interest in the black dog. Looks like they have put their prices up, and to my mind no longer offer good value. Also you can’t buy any mainstream beers or lagers, I miss my Amstel and Moretto. Sadly don’t plan to revisit

Simply one of the nicest beer houses I have ever visited.Lets start with the bar staff. Bubbly, friendly and very polite and attentive.Drinks were very reasonably priced and a huge choice of ales, lagers and ciders.Food was excellent. My lamb kofta was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. The tsatziki was very tasty too.My kids devoured their burgers and I was happy to help them finish off the delicious fries.I told the young Irish lady who served us to look out for my review. 😉

A cross between a good local and a destination pub. Staff very attentive, beer very good and excellent choice of unobtrusive ambient music. Food portions are generous, we ate in the lovely pub garden, unfortunately sharing the experience with a hard of greenfly! Time of year, nothing pub can do.

Firstly lets just say Ive had beers and burgers in more places than you could imagine. Then lets say this place has the best burger Ive tasted in a very long time coupled with the fact they serve speciality craft beers- most of all the sour beers! What an amazing selection in a newly refurbished place nestled amongst quiet streets of Brentford. This place is an absolute gem and will be my new go to place - especially as its 5 mins from my house 👍Yet another visit and yet another great experience. The beers the food and the staff all make this place an amazing visit. If you like craft beers and sour beers then this is a great choice. This time I had an extremely sour apricot beer that the barman described "like licking a tazer!" Well of course this totally sold it to me and it didnt disappoint! Very sour! The food is also very good and you can tell the chef actually puts the love into making it. No sloppy burgers that fall apart, all so well constructed and the I ingredients are well balanced to create a perfect burger! I hope this place never changes!Back after a few months and still great staff and beers

An extraordinarily friendly place. While we were there they had a powercut for 20mins or so and the staff remained cool and responded politely to customer requests (they were unable to serve food during this time and certain drinks). After the power was restored we ordered loaded fries and a burger. Delicious. I think these are the best fries I have had. 10/10 for responding well to an emergency and 10/10 for overall customer satisfaction.

What a fantastic pub this is. An exquisite choice of beers, granted a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for, people.I had a salt beef sandwich which was arguably too much food - not sure about offering "Russian" dressing at a time of war - I asked for it not to come, but it came on the side instead.But I love this place for the beer...it has a nice garden too. Shame it is a ballache for me to get to, but hopefully Ill be back again at some point.If you like good beer...and proper bar service...come here.

Excellent staffs!Food were lovely.Steak was a bit over cooked. The ingredients were not top notch but trust me, the chef seasoned well, the sauces were spectacular. We enjoyed our meal. :-)Nice ginger beer too!

We were staying for a couple of days locally and wanted somewhere easy to go for food. We got easy and so much more! A fantastic, friendly pub with a great drinks offering and good pub grub. The staff were super accomodating and even gave us a heads up on a discount, as well as offering their expertise on beer. Plenty of Gluten Free options for both food and drinks for those that need it - I had the mussels and my partner had the salt beef sandwich with buffalo chicken wings on the side! A must go if you are in Brentford! Thank you.

Great selection of food - good enough to be a quality restaurant in its own right, there is also a good selection of drinks. Probably the best pub in the area.

Super friendly service so welcoming to us and our dog. We had a delicious lamb roast with hummus and pomegranate unusual but soo good it came with all the trimmings. Strongly recommend this place!

What an absolute gem of a pub to find in London. The staff are so young, vibrant, happy and helpful. This is an independent beer pub so the choice of beers is fantastic. The whole vibe of the place is relaxing and welcoming. The beer garden is amazing and they allow dogs. The restrooms are very clean. Could have stayed the whole evening if we didnt have plans as felt so relaxed.

A lovely and charming pub with friendly staff and great food. The fire is usually on in the corner which makes for great ambience. We were especially fond of the pork belly. Would definitely visit again.

Our first time here. After a long walk in the lovely autumnal sunshine, we stopped off for lunch. Timed perfectly as all the Brentford fans were leaving for the game. I had the burger for main which was fab and then followed by this decadent dessert - chocolate and hazelnut mousse cake. Delicious!

Amazing menu of cask ales and delicious food. Bijou outside space off the beaten track gem. The stuffed squid was amazingly presented and the burger had delicious paper thin sliced gherkins - yummm

This was our second time here and we will definitely be going back. Staff are lovely, amazing clean, for the crazy new world we live in staff all wearing masks, hand gel outside toilets, inside and outside seating, heat lamps, easy access to wheelchairs and prams. We didn’t take our dog but there were dogs inside so must be an option.The menu and food was yum yum yum, we are all veggies so there was a limited selection which was a bit disappointing and no dessert menu which blows my mind, that’s the only reason I eat our 🤣Price was not cheap, burgers are £14 but were huge so I think worth the money.I would highly recommend, and will definitely go back.

Great pub. Good variety of food and drinks. With good options for veggies / vegans and food allegories. Nice friendly staff. Nice decor, did a good job in small space. Nice beer garden, although ground is a little uneven so be careful! Sunday roast is yum and regular food menu is great too. I would like to give it 4 and half stars but only have the option of 4 or 5. A little pricey but I dont mind paying the price for good food/drink and a good atmosphere. The Chilli Sin Carne is so good as is the aubergine & flat bread. Oh, the loo could do with a bit of a paint and some heating.Would definitely recommend a visit here for food and drink.Ive changed this to 5* as on our return visit had one of the best roast dinners. Our group had a mixture of vegan, lamb, beef. All found it delicious. I already look forward to another Sunday visit. Staff again super friendly. Its nice having a great local pub.

Worth travelling to visitGreat selection of cask and keg beers as well as cider and perry. The food is excellent too!Midweek the tables were all full around 7 so its worth booking if youre in a big group.

Great addition to Brentfords pubs with a great Selection of ever changing beers. Food looks good but yet to try anything.Have since been back a number of times for food & its top drawer. Not your standard pub food but something alittle different.
