The Bellevue Cafe in Penticton
Description
Consistent friendly service with quality menu choices. I always look forward to stopping in each week.
MoreStopped in here to try somewhere different for breakfast. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito. Coffee was decent and only a buck for a refill. I dont like paying for refills however I think this also kept people from setting an office at a table for the day. Staff were friendly and food came out quick.
MoreFabulous whole wheat/blueberry scone. Everyone at the table loved their food!
Breakfast burritos and wraps are fantastic!! Highly recommendVery clean, and great atmosphere!❤️Friendly staff too …
MoreWe ordered the chicken spinach feta pizza; one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life! Staff was super friendly too.
MoreMy sandwich was very very delicious. Portion sizes are a bit small. I did not like the smoothie at all though. It was more like a milkshake than a smoothie… way too sweet.
MoreUsed to be fantastic until ya all changed your menu. Had the best best bacon and eggs in town. Now its just hipster sandwiches for breakfast.
MoreWish there was more options for Vegans... But they do have milk alternatives so we were able to get a smoothie, oatmeal and a coffee. Very friendly service and delicious food. Definitely going back.
MoreHomemade soup is amazing. Wonderful staff and cozy atmosphere. My favorite lunch spot in Penticton.
MoreTheir BEAT sandwich is delicious and their Spicy sausage burrito is something to try if you like a kick to your palette
MoreAmazing food beautiful atmosphere nice art good drinks comfy seating. The Airbnb above is also a great little spot to stay.
MoreGreat people, dog friendly super service..... Oh ya the food is awesome and well priced. Bravo and well done.
MoreI have eaten here many many many times. I never leave disappointed and the staff are very good with our order. Great for breakfast and lunch too. Highly recommend.
MoreThis place used to be great for breakfast. Now the menu is limited to "wraps".They may as well serve pop-tarts as a side. The staff is bitter and obviously have no desire to be there.
MoreBeautiful restaurant, pity the food and service don’t match. Food, coffee and smoothie were all sub-par, more cafeteria like than a cafe. With such lovely decor and a top notch location, the place has oodles of potential.Honestly very disappointing
MoreI was disappointed in the huevos rancheros, pictured here.I appreciate that "other people really enjoy it" as the server behind the counter reminded me as she was giving me a refund, but this isnt huevos rancheros. You baked eggs into cheese, canned corn and beans, decided to remove the breakfast potatoes from the menu... and gave us Nesquik instead of actual chocolate milk. You used to be great, Belleview. Whats with doing the bare minimum all of a sudden?
MoreTheir breakfast wrap #3 was absolutely amazing. Coffee was great too. Would love to go back to Bellevue Cafe!
MoreSadly, it was a bit disappointing. We got the eggs, cheese and bacon wrap and the avocado toast. We asked the cashier to add a poached egg to the avocado toast and she told us they only had hard boiled eggs. We thought it was odd, but got it anyway. The egg was rubbery and looked so industrialized. Also, the cashier was a bit rude and had a “I’m so done” look in her face. The place itself looks so nice and trendy. I agree with some of the reviews and I believe this place has so much potential. I understand they had to go through changes due to COVID-19, but how hard is it to cook fresh eggs?
MoreThis place has great potential. Great decor, easy access location. The scones are delicous. The rest of the breakfast menu, appears to be all prepackaged and ask for a fried egg or poached egg...its a flat no. The eggs are manufactured and not fresh eggs. Our kids ordered wraps, and I am sorry to say that Tim hortons has better tasting wraps. The kids didnt even finish half of their wraps, that says a lot. Normally I dont leave negative reviews, however the feeling from the people working the counter was more of dont ask us questions about the menu ... the menu is all we have, and dont bother asking. As a business owner myself I would have anticipated a more " how can we help you..." approach, especially in this time of covid and every small business needing its support to earn money. Again, lots of potential. Sadly, we will not be back, there are other places to go and enjoy breakfast. Less than great food combined with a less than engaging or happy front end team...I hope they will take the last 2 reviews to heart and look at how they do better. ADDITIONAL FOLLOW UP IN REPLY TO THE BUSINESSS FEEDBACK: I will adjust my comments on the prepackaged: while the wrap it self was not prepackaged, the eggs are not fresh and are pre manufactured. There is or was no flavour. For myself I ordered what was to have been a mexican egg style breakfast... overload of cheese and lots of beans do not make a breakfast mexican. I wish I would have taken a picture to show our kids and our meals. Our kids love good tasting food, as do we. When our two sons mentioned the taste and asked if we could eat elsewhere I tried the wrap...I agreed and they both had less than 2 bites. We are all in a time of covid, the excuse is getting boring...we found another breakfast place up the "bench", they knocked the customer service, and over all food experience to the moon. The owners were even coming around asking everyone how the food was, we asked for 2 extra eggs, it was a quick yes! You have a good location and decor, my recommendations are still...work on your customer service, and overall food quality. And please stop using covid as an excuse...other businesses are doing great, you can too if you stop being defensive and look at elevating your own business.
MoreThis place has so much more potential! Great venue and location but very much lacking in accommodating food preferences/dietary requirements. I was floored to learn I couldn’t add eggs to vegetarian menu items, even when I emphasized I would pay extra. And when I ordered an egg menu item, I couldn’t add a veggie side (like a side salad). Pretty disappointing.
MoreGreat looking restaurant; disappointing breakfast menu! Mostly wraps that are pre-made. Can’t add eggs, bacon or toast sides because it’s all pre-made. Very limited.Unfortunately they forgot to turn their espresso machine on. Half an hour wait to get a coffee. We easily found better options in town that are more organized.
MoreThe food is decent, but the service is terrible. Why am I tipping you for you to tell me to get my own drink from the counter. Wish I never tipped. The salad had no dressing.
MoreWalked in there this morning and was pleasantly welcomed by the waitress. The cafe is cozy with character and the staff were very friendly.. the coffee was great and the food was even better.. overall a must visit when in Penticton
MoreMy sister and I had lunch at the Cafe today, Nov 9, 2019. The meal was delicious, the service we received was efficient, but the employee was not friendly at all. Not once did she smile. We had to ask someone else to bring our bill. Our own waitress did not return to us to take our money. As we left we notice her standing behind the till. Other staff were friendly and looked happy, but our waitress was not. Maybe she was having a tough day or something going on in her life, but she should not bring it to work with her. Just a gentle reminder to give the customers a smile. A smile goes a long way.
MoreI went there for the second time today and wow my opinion of them has changed. I gave 3 stars because the BLT sandwich with pesto was great. The fries are as expected and the coffee is good for people who actually like coffee. What blew my mind is this: I got a side of their curry cauliflower soup with chickpeas which, as a curry lover, I was prepared to love. What I got just fell short. It was bland but had the potential to be decent - it was just missing something. Being myself, I voiced my disappointment to the first server who was actually understanding about it. The second server, who initially was quite pleasant and was as such the first time I visited also, did a complete 180 and was short with me. She snatched the bill off the table and took it back to removed the soup from my bill. She other server looked uncomfortable at this point and I felt bad for her. The angry server came back with the bill and the pos machine, dropped them on the table and walked off as I was trying to speak to her. I paid my bill and left without speaking to another person who worked there. I read the reviews and didnt really see what the issue was until this. I will never go back based on that experience.
MoreWent for breakfast on a Farmers Market Day with 4 persons where we sat on the outside patio. We all ordered one of their breakfast specials which tasted great including their homemade hashbrowns. Carol was our waitress who offered efficient service and had a great sense of humour. BTW, they never take down their hiring sign because its difficult to find dedicated servers like Carol. Definitely recommend this place for good food and service!
MoreOrdered the Huevos rancheros...it was absolutely disgusting and was like a soup served in a dish with a flour tortilla on the side. Told staff my meal was terrible and it still showed up on my bill. 🙄 would give it no stars but I guess I have to give it one to give a review. Day before I had french toast and it was delicious so very dissatisfied to come back and get this meal.
MoreMenu is great and food is of high quality. Staff is friendly but it was very busy on a Saturday morning, things were forgotten. Drinks were missed and had to be asked for again as were condiments. Also had to go inside and ask for bill after a long wait. Good restaurant but clearly understaffed for the busy times.
MoreWent for breakfast.food is super tasty and yum fries are the best. Service is good! Best capuchino(proper size). Will definitely come back!
MoreThe service was good and fast. The ambiance of the patio was pleasant. The coffee was good but breakfast was a little lacking both in flavour and portion size. Still one of the best options for breakfast in town. Will be returning.
MoreI’m a very simple breakfast eater and so I typically just order hashbrowns and eggs. My lover ordered hashbrowns and eggs and bacon and sausage and I just had to steal some bacon and sausage because it was so so good! Their hashbrowns are homemade and absolutely phenomenal - cooked to perfection!
MoreAmazing food, great prices, friendly staff and the coffee is so good!
Great friendly waitress, good food, reasonably priced, would definitely recommend this place
MoreI am on a low carb diet so asked for no potatoes and no bread with the omelette.the waitress said would I like, some veggy salsa instead so I said yes. I was charged extra$2 for the veggies so breakfast was$18.95. I asked why I was charged extra when I didnt have the potatoes and bread. And I wasnt tulle of the extra cost. Was told after the breakfast there was no substitutions. Terrible. Wasnt worth the money
MorePerfect tasty breakfast, in a big variety, very much satisfying! In terms of having a deliciously and entertaining breakfast in an nice environment, the Bellevue Cafe is the winner of our heart, it is better than Elite Restaurant and the others on Main Street...
MoreI had breakfast here during my visit to Penticton. Really good and fresh food. Service is fantastic!
MoreWent here for breakfast and enjoyed a delicious breakfast burrito. Partner had a basic breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast. She said it was also very good. Atmosphere was very nice and service was prompt. Definitely a place to try in Penticton.
MoreGreat place to sit outside and have a meal. Primetime location downtown Penticton and beautiful patio. The coffee is very good and the servers are very nice. It was super busy so a bit slow but thats par for the course.Food was very good as well. During the market Saturday it will be packed so maybe tough to get a spot outside on the patio. Will be back again!
MoreGreat place to have coffee with friends. They grind their own for freshness. Good baking treats as well. Prices are reasonable. Outside seating is available...air conditioned on the inside. Healthy food for those who eat plant based...though limited choices.
MoreBreakfast review* the weekend bennys are ok. The week breakfast menu doesent offer much choice and the things that are offered felt strange to me. It wasent bad, but presentation was not very good and the taste was far from spectaculous. I dont know, i just feel like plates should be rework and more classics should be offered.
MoreThe WORST smashed avocado on toast. The menu read something completely different than I was given and it was pretty awful. They served me pre-made guacamole from a bag (most likely ordered from a large food supplieron my toast, not the classic fresh avocado that is normally just smashed with a fork and then they topped it with root veg for my salsa fresca. The worst part is, after expressing my concern we were still charged full price for it. My friends heuvos was also pretty mediocre. If you go for breakfast maybe just stick to eggs and toast, the rest of the choice may need some work. The only reason this gets two stars instead of one is because I have to give the servers some credit for their hard work, it was busy and service was still pretty quick. The art work is nice, maybe just stop in for that ?
MoreGorgeous place, but when one orders a chicken quesadilla youd expect some veggies. Nope, just chicken and cheese melted between 2 tortillas... Could have been better
MoreIt looks nice and the vibe is comfortable. I had the Tomato and Pesto Mayo Breakfast Wrap. I dont think it had very much pesto and was quite bland. My husband said his Benny was good.
MoreFood is fine and the servers are friendly, but the owner/manager so palpably loathes customers that it stains the experience. Unless of course you like that kind of thing.I objectively confirmed they have pickles. My baby will suck a pickle which lets me enjoy a meal in peace. I asked the server for a pickle. She said her manager disallows it. I asked her manager, the owner, Toni, if I could buy a pickle. Before I finished my sentence, and without so much as simple eye contact, she stated they do not have pickles. But the thing is, they do. This was a contemptuous lie.And dont bother asking to buy a side of toast.
MoreIf there was a 2.5 Id have used that. Totally odd experience. Basically didnt have a server. Had to grab a random server to get our drinks delivered before we finished our meal. Never got checked on so ate off of napkins instead of the side plates we would have liked. Could have used a few other things too but there was no one to ask. Food was just ok so pretty tough to justify what we paid.
MoreAvocado toast with nitro coffee. FAST and friendly service! Servers seemed to tag-team with each other, covering others tables to ensure customers were well-taken care of. Bravo.
MoreDoesnt even deserve a star, witnessing the boss of this restaurant bully and make her employees feel like nothing makes me want to never come here again. Nobody working for someone and putting full effort and being told different, blaming employees for losing costumers when shes caused the scene putting employees down in front of others is sickening. Hope the lady who owns this loses her employees and business. Because Im standing up for whats right. Hope you enjoy this comment and hopefully people will stand up for this.
MoreExtremely poor customer service. Was treated poorly by a witch of a lady with longer gray hair, and witnessed acts of profiling, sexism, and just plain disrespect toward a potential employee. Me, nor anyone I befriend, will ever stop at this poor excuse for a café ever again. The art was pretty cool though, props to the artists.
MoreWeve been to many cafes in Vancouver, but nothing quaint like the Bellevue. The coffee by Cherry Hill was the best coffee weve had in a long time. We ordered the Province omelette and the Chicken Hash. Both dishes were flavorful and plenty. Our server was attentive and never let our coffee run dry. We arrived early at door open at 8am, and the amount of people coming in and out on a Monday morning was astonishing. If you were like us visiting out of the area, make this one of your stops. Ignore the first two reviews like we did. Glad we came! 👍
MoreI enjoy the food and the staff usually but had a bad experience today. Pretty sure the owner thought we werent going to pay. We were told how to pay before ordering AND brought our bill while we were still eating. Didnt see anyone else receive this treatment. Very rude.
