11:02 on a Tuesday - doors closed, no note on when they would be opening, nothing. Waste of time.
MoreGreat food for great price! One of the best vegan burgers I have ever eaten! Nice plant based selection so I highly recommend :)
MoreThe food was very tasty, the service is good. They did a mistake with the order but fixed it right away. Everything was fresh. Coffee was also very very good.
MoreChill interior, friendly staff, and good food. Not the cheapest place but portion size and taste are well worth it, would return and recommend!
MoreAmazing restaurant! The food is not only healthy, but super delicious! They also provide nutrition information and offer a variety of gluten free, lactose free and vegan options. The takeout works just fine without compromising the quality or taste. The staff is super helpful and kind. I also recommend getting their all natural cookies, chips, granola or snack bars from the shop.
MoreLovely vegan experience we had today! We ordered the falafel burgers with sweet potatoes and smoothie. Super tasty food and first quality ingredients. Service is quick and very gentle. Price was okay. Will go back for sure!
MoreWow, what a menu, a lot of options and for every dish, there was a nutrion information aswell. Prices were really good, food was good too. Interior looked nice and cozy.
MoreThis restaurant serves delicious fresh vegan food. If you want to try something new I definitely recommend to visit it. Tofu burger was delicious and berry smoothie was very refreshing without any added sugar.Atmosphere is nice, waiters are very polite, WiFi is strong, music is not too loud and it will not interrupt thought process during conversation with a partner.
MoreFirst the good things. Lots of vegan options, also desserts. Nutrition information for food. Smoothies and natural juices are excellent. I liked snickers raw cake. Now for not so good. Unfortunately our service was really bored or distracted by something. Food tastes better when someone is polite and smiles. The yawns are really not good appetizers. The beyond meat burger was jwhole bread buns, salad maybe something else and beyond meat. I always make it better myself. Just a little bit of creativity with it would help a lot. You can make delicious sauce also healthy. I would pay extra. Also sweet potato can be made better. Maybe try airfrier. All in all I really appreciate vegan cousin. And i would come back but not with my non vegan friends. If the owner will see this review please take it as constructive criticism. I really would like more vegan places to trive. I just need a smile from service and a sauce that I am too lazy to do myself.
MoreUnfortunately, they do not understand the concept of "Customer Service" . I specifically chose to go the "The Beginnings Restorans" because I wanted to try the beyond burger I had been hearing about on the internet. When I tried to order one, I was told I couldnt get one because they were out of buns. The cashier suggested a salad with a beyond burger on it or the beyond burger wrap. I chose the wrap and to my surprise after our order was rung up I found out the wrap for some reason is 3 euros more than the burger. I also did not get the discount on the sweet potato french fries that you get when you order the burger + fries. The cashier said she could not give us a discount or give us the wrap for the price of the burger because the government did not allow them to give discounts. I admit at this point I looked at her like she was crazy and said " What do you mean the government will not allow you to give a discount, I own a business in Latvia and I can give discounts." I then told her that I came for the beyond burger and it wasnt my fault they were out of buns, which she then replied "It isnt our fault we are out of buns, too many people ordered buns." WHAT????? When I worked in a restaurant it was definitely our (managementfault when we ran out of something. I felt like I was in the twilight zone.... As for the food...26 euros is way to expensive and to be honest neither my boyfriend nor I liked what we got (beyond burger wrap and trout wrap). To say the least we will never go back and if someone ask for a recommendation we would tell them not to go.
MoreHad a “vegetable pasta” and it was delicious, kinda pricey for the size but ver good.
MoreLove this menu and this type of food. Come here quite often. However they have slowest service ever 😔 and once you wanna grab a smoothie on the go is really no go. Sadly quality is not consistent. Once you get the best spring rolls ever, other time smallest portion ever.
MoreNice and healthy food. In the photo - a bowl of sweet buckwheat porridge, on the pricey side.
MorePoor customer service. We were served by a young guy who was very snobby and rude. He did not even ask if everything was fine with the food and if wed like to have any sauce with the very dry quinoa. The salmon dish contained a desert spoon of salmon meet. Super smalls. Sweet potato fries were way too few, burnt, sticky, but, at the same time oily (not sure how theyve managed to it.
MoreNice cosy place with a lot of vegan options at very reasonable price.Though they should improve their burger buns. They are a bit dry, but filling is great
MoreI was greeted with real jazz music, specifically the great John Coltrane, the food was great, i had rice noodles with spinach, but the waiter forgot that I ordered tea, and when I reminded him, he apologized, but still made the wrong tea, otherwise 5/5 would come again
MoreHealthy meals. No dairy, no eggs, no meat. Some fish. Lot of vegan options.Beyond meat burgers and other beyond meat options. Tasty quinoa bowl. Coffee and matcha latte with lot of plant base milk options (my favourite oat and quinoa). And healthy snacks. Recommend this place.
MoreIve been 3 times and every time theres a problem. Ginger waiter has a huge attitude issue, he should just quit his job if he doesnt like it. Food we recieved was still frozen from being in the freezer! It was really poor and no apology or anything, I shall never return, not even for a juice.
MoreThe best vegan and raw food place in Riga!We were very disappointed with Fat Pumpkin and came here the next day. Super quality and tasty food, great staff! Asks if we have allergies... waiter, maybe 5 years younger than me, coming to our table with food said "A burger for a young lady and the salad for a gentleman" - so sweet! 😃+ 3 sorts of water available for free.
MoreAmazing place where to get tasty food and as well healthy treats. Prices are reasonable and place is cozy. Definitely worth to visit. Food can be both eaten there and treats taken with you.
MoreThis was my first time trying the beyond burger. I thought it was great, if I didnt know it was vegan I wouldnt have questioned it. A great alternative to meat. This restaurant was really good, with a nice atmosphere and great staff. I would recommend.
MoreDelicious! Bonus points for nutritional information of each item on the menu.
We have over a 100 vegan places in Berlin but the beginnings in Riga is definitely one of my favorites (besides that all the stuff could me more friendly and the written menu is quite chaos). But I like the interior, the ingredients, the nutrition list to each dish and the mass of raw bars and energy balls 👌 well done 👍
MoreI was completely blown away by this place! I loved the atmosphere in there, the staff was super friendly and immediately switched to English without a problem and showed us the English menu naturally, we didnt even have to ask for it.(By the way, I think its really cool that there is nutritional info on your website! Knowing the calories, macros and iron/fiber/omega3 is really helpful for someone who wants to eat as healthy as possible. )The food arrived really quickly and everything was freshly made and tasted amazing. I had the strawberry gazpacho and the red curry rice noodles, which I actually tried because Ive never heard of a strawberry/tomato combination. It blew my mind, I loved it!My boyfriend had the falafel burger if I remember correctly, and a berry smoothie which we sadly didnt take a photo of. Must have also been freshly made, it was great, too!To take it even further they had lots of snack/protein bars, cookies, even supplements like spirulina or even chia protein and much more. I didnt buy anything there, but I had one of their bars at the airport the morning after, because they sold them there.Im really happy that I found out that they have an online shop haha!I know, this all sounds too good to be true - but in my case there is truly nothing negative I could say. This place has won my heart and stomach and when I come back to Riga one day yall know where to find me at lunch time!
MoreGood fresh food, I had the lunch bowl which was generous and had good options. Nice staff and cosy atmosphere
MoreLunch menu included soup (4 different optionsand main course for total of 7.70€. Everything was very tasty and healthy. Service was quick too!
MoreThe waiter was pretty annoyed with my question.. Wanted to order beyond meat burger, she eye rolled and told that they are long gone and wont be back..We drove to that place for a long time and at that point I just wanted to eat. So me and my boyfriend ordered falafel burgers, sorry but it missed some sauce, bread was dry and everything was really cold.Came there with high hopes, was leaving with disappointment.
MoreThe Red Curry was great, tasted awesome. The Tofu-Burger though was really disappointing.
MoreI liked the place but there were some things they can improve. Food was fresh and good but mine lacked some sauce (don’t get me wrong- there were some but it wasn’t enoughI had tortilla (made out of chickpeasand my partner took poke bowl which was really good. The upside is that they have a lot of gluten free options and nice atmosphere. Staff could be more friendly/ helpful. I also liked their little shop corner with lots of gf and lactose free options.
MoreOrdered miso soup and salad bowl from daily lunch deal. Waited more than 20 minutes for miso and went to ask where it was. And 5 minutes later it finally arrived. As we ordered 2 miso, one was much more filled with ingredients than the other one. Daily salad bowl (you can customise itcame in time but with wrong ingredients for one of us. After 5 minutes waiter exchanged it and went to kitchen to turn around and bring it to the best table. Quinoa was watery and hummus was plain. Barona street The Beginnings. One star from us.
MoreCame here twice during my short visit to Riga. Lots of choices for all and every time we were very satisfied with food, even my meat-lover friends.
MoreGood idea, however poor execution... In places like this customers are often trying to avoid different products (like lentils, garlic or others). When we asked to prepare the dish without beans and lentils, staff rolled her eyes and took the order... just to bring the dish with beans... No attempt to satisfy client even in case of staff fault... Recipe of same dishes varied every day (3 times)...Hope the owner will find this feedback valuable.
MoreThey have a very long list of smoothies, so you will surely find something you like! They also have the Beyond Meat burger, and it is yummy. Sadly the kitchen closes quite early (7ish pm), so you better come for lunch or an early dinner.
MoreOne of the bst healthy food restaurant in Riga. Great for full meals, lunch, desserts, small snacks and even souvenirs.P.S.This is what I call "smoothies"! Smoothies are great in here!
MoreAlot of delicious vegan options, good quick service. Reasonable prices (for Riga). Nice vibe and chillaxed music.
MoreWide selection of smooties and food. There is also fish dishes if I recall correctly, its not ony vegan/vegetarian. There is also a small shop of their brands sweets, powders.
MoreGreat selection of vegan food!!
Wholefood chocolate, made without sugar or other non-PC ingredients. These are actually quite tasty. Didnt try the meet free burgers.Served by teenagers on loan from a catwalk.
MoreThe best place in Riga of tasty and healthy food options. Great selection of Smoothies! Not a vegan, but their veggie burgers ... Amazing place!!!Thank you for the concept and such a great quality of service! Healthy food can be very tasty!
MoreGood atmosphere and great food, big portions. They have fish-trout -yes its vegan. I suggest to try if even you are not vegan like I.
MorePerfect for vegans or fitness enthusiasts. The menus literally shows the macronutrient content contained within each dish. I wish all restaurants did this as it would make keeping track of calorie sources so much easier. The food is fresh and the smoothies are refreshing. The staff are very kind and well mannered. The prices are also very reasonable.
MoreIm just so glad this place is in Riga! They offer guilt-free food and drinks that are absolutely delicious. The staff are knowledgable and helpful. You can also get their produce to take away. An absolute little gem, I hope they are in business forever!
MoreWe were looking for vegan options and found this little gem.Good offers and tasty burgers.Sweet potatoe fries are mainly not fried more cooked.
MoreLove that you can not only go for a vegetarian, vegan food but also get some supplies like goji berries.Recommend to try out one of many smoothies and a burger.
MoreIm not vegan and stumbled upon this place by accident- we ordered without realising it was vegan too. Considering this it was very nice healthy food. The latte too was very nice considering Im not used to almond and rice milk- but sickly towards the end though. The staff were very helpful and spoke great English.
MoreMe and fellow vegans I know are very conflicted about this place. The main dishes are bland, expensive and very unsatisfying in the sense that, as you eat your food, you feel regret for the 10 euros you just spent on the tastless meal that probably tastes exactly like the different dish another customer is eating 5 tables away from you. Although, their desserts are fantastic, I have to give them that. This is a higher end vegan restaurant that trendy bussiness moms go to for their bussiness meetings. I recommend going to Terapija instead-youll get fuller for less money and the food is actually good. Raw Garden also recently added raw fish to their menu so it isnt even a vegan restaurant anymore, leaving them absoloutely nothing to their image-just an expensive phony restaurant that hipster dads take their 4 year olds to eat some organically raised, gluten free, soy free, kind of vegan food. Hope this helped.
MoreDelicious drinks! A bit limited choice for lunch, but well done
Great, healthy and green food for a fair price. Very well seasoned dishes, beautifully arranged.Nice ambient and friendly staff!
MoreGood vegan food, the menu wasnt in English but the lady translated it for us, we got a chickpea burger in kale leaves and a kale and grapefruit salad, but were about 5-6€. we also got a raw snickers cake, for €3/100g. Very delicious food.
MoreName is actually The Beginnings. Food is delicious and affordable. Comfy and beautiful place.
