The Baytree Shopping Centre - Shopping Centre in Kapoeta, South Sudan
The Baytree Shopping Centre in Kapoeta
Description
Privilege
J d sports great
Its OK. Its a shopping center. No big deal. Most of the shops are closed. So same as other places. Main difference is the one shop on the inside corner never really remained open. Was a gallery for a short while then closed.
MoreSmall clean centre ,record shop ,Holland +Barretts
Nothing like Oxford Street
Not many shops here
Lovely place to do your shopping
Good air conditioned facility. Not sure why the cinema proposal was blocked in the first place.???
MoreLots of units are empty, which seems such a shame. Personally Id prefer to visit Billericay for shops over Brentwood. As the parking is free at weekends and the range of shops seems better.
MoreUsed to be better. Half the shops are empty as I understand the landlord wont grant a decent length lease.
MoreHopefully new tenants will uplift this very small offering soon. It is depressing
MoreEmpty units are not a good site
Always on time excellent customer. Service & adviseFree parking every time we got to their offices.trust them implicitly xx
MoreI guess its about 60% occupied with retail but there needs to be more if its to justify the title of centre.Certainly clean and tidy and good to see an empty unit being available for social use.But to most its a way through from carpark to High Street.
MoreNeeds more shops, just has few shops but nothing exciting
This centre provides Brentwood with 4 or 5 very good shops and is always kept immaculately clean. Even down to the toilets, which stand out and without which Brentwood would have no such facilities. Council facilities could do with a complete re-fit. The Centre would be improved by letting off some more shops. It could be a thriving place.
MoreTrying there best... But souless, needs more shops and a vibe of something happening.
MoreHalf shops closed,no atmosphere public toilets outside,
A tiny shopping centre without much character or choice of businesses. However, it is well maintained and whats there is well presented. Hoping to see it grow.
MoreNot much of a shopping centre considering half of the space is unoccupied.Mostly a spot for feral youth to congregate.
MoreWas easy to find; have parking space and not to bad for a small mall.
They should let the large empty space to Lidl or Aldi to give Sainsbury some competition.
MoreA lovely shopping centre. A pity so many units are currently empty. I hope it flourishes again.
MoreMuch cleaner and tidyier than when I worked in Brentwood a few years back.
Sadly this mall is not giving of its potential as a shopping centre in the middle of Brentwood. It has limited footfall, largely generated by Wilkinsons, but it has a bit of a sagebrush feeling about it. I do not recall it ever being right. Shame really
MoreNot the greatest shopping centre. Absolutely sensational cut through from high street towards station
MoreIts just as well I was only interested in Sports Direct most other places were closed. Great if you like looking at shop shutters!
Moreyou can get all basics here, shopping is good for locals and newly moved folks, from household items to sports and more you can shop here
MoreThis isnt much of a shopping centre. I say this due to the few shops there and the size of these stores. You have plenty of parking nearby with a free option for 30 mins and a £1 per hour. There are public washrooms nearby.Inside you find a Wilkinson, sports direct, Clarks, a few phone repair shops, a gym, Holland and Barrett a record store, childrens stationary store and a kitchen Haus, perfume store.A very odd assortment of shops! There have seperate lanes for covid and anti bac upon enterence. Masks are recommend but not enforced outside; needed in stores though.
MoreIts a nice small shopping mall and have varity of stores, my favourite is sportsdirect and WH Smith.
MoreDisappointing .Place has so much potential but too many units empty due to brentwood council rents I suspect. Its just a place to.walk through to a car park. Most exciting shop - Wilkos. Says it all !
MoreGood selection of well known High Street names. Some empty units though give it a feeling that there should be more on offer.
MoreHand sanitiser empty both times I visited, 3 days apart. Toilets not too clean, tissue on floor and 1 toilet looked horrific
MoreGreat place to visit. They have a few shops like wilkos and perfume shop. Friendly staff. Good value.
MoreIts ok, not great but ok. I think the "shopping centre" has been going down hill for a while now alot of vacant spaces and ok shops in there. Get more shops in there and it could be good.
MoreNot many shops Im interested in. I go in for Wilkos and Clarkes shoes. I feel claustrophobic in Smiths since it moved to entrance to Baytree centre.
MoreThe baytree center is always clean and tidy.Always have good things going on, in my opinion its a credit to the community. We need more people to shop locally to keep the town alive and the baytree center is at the heart of it 💖
MoreVery small but has a few good shops and just outside is the main high street so not bad if you cant find what you want in here
MoreNot my favourite shopping centre, the whole town of Brentwood is lacking, with the publicity this town gets should be so much better, but hardly any independent shops, plenty of cafés, charity stores, and a mediocre M&S store, I imagine rent, rates would be high.
MoreIt’s tragic just how downhill this centre has gone. It’s always been weird even back it’s previous forms, there is clearly a view to develop, but in doing so it loses the ability to do what a Shopping Centre should do and cater to customers. What has say 40 odd units, fills less than half, those that vacate claim the owners would not negotiate with them. There are lots of soulless promotions put on, sit in a sofa to win £100 but no real retail offer to back it up.The high street is in a financial crisis, but we know offers have been made to this centre and ignored or rejected from eager retailers wanting to trade there. While the centres owners “hope” they can develop they rip the heart out of what could be a bustling shopping centre. It’s still entirely possible to make a good ROI on a shopping centre in this climate, but this centre has some sort of identity crisis... marketing and events with no real back up from its owners. This makes this centre a virtual abomination in a thriving town.
MoreMost of the units here are empty, some have been since the centre opened! Its usually quiet but provides clean toilets. It would be nice to see a plan for new shops in the empty units, just to get more customers in!
MoreThe whole precinct is like a desert. The only useful shops are ill supported because so many empty shops remain vacant and have for years . Now even the cafe has closed. No wonder its always clean and tidy. People avoid it.
MoreThis is the place you walk through to get to the High Street when you have parked in the Multi-Story Car Park. The shops are Wilkos, Sports Direct, Hairdresser, The Works, Mobile Phone Cover Shop, Perfume Shop, Holland and Barret and a a German Kitchen Shop. Come on Brentwood council pull you finger out and give some incentives to get some of the empty units filled (Ive been here 8 years and there is one that Ive never seen occupied, even B&M stores went sideways). Dont go out of your way.
MoreSmall place but it was a nice place to go in Brentwood. Also they have a small teacup ride outside for children witch we used for my son also a sweet stand next to it. very nice especially on a sunny day
MoreAlthough the shops that are there are fine and useful it is owned by a property investment company who seem couldnt care less about providing retail premises than making money on property proce rising.
MoreWilkos is its saving grace. No excuse for empty units. They need to attract more shops. Maybe lower the rent or work with the council to offer reduced business rates or something. When B&M decide the rents too pricey then it must be!. Just a guess. Not speaking from a point of knowledge.
MoreNice christmas decoration. Many stores under one umbrella. Place to eat and shop.
MoreI use the cafe here only after going to Better Gym. Its always quiet (maybe because Im there Tuesday mornings!and always wonder how cafe keeps going. Like the women who serve they always make you feel welcome 😊
MoreA rather mournful place with a large number of empty shop units. There are a couple of big name stores, but most are small, local retailers. There is a small cafe but you are more likely to walk past than visit as there are better options nearby.
MoreAlways clean and bright in there but not very reassuring with half the units unoccupied. B & M closing was a huge blow for the town. Looks creepy walking past there now, all vast and dark. Not very inviting at all! Some of the smaller units have never even been occupied at all in the whole of the time the centre has been open.
MoreThe centre itself is clean, well placed and has some great stores such as wilko and the works. Also, multistorey car park next door. However, it always seems empty and its a bit unnerving when half the shop space is empty and to let. Not a destination but handy to have.
