Millennium House, 60 Victoria St, Liverpool L1 6JH, United Kingdom, Liverpool
Unpretentious eatery inside The Shankly Hotel for classic British cuisine, cocktails & wine.
Keeping it simple and nice
3 course meal. Excellent price for excellent quality food
Fantastic breakfast , excellent choice
We got the chicken satay and soup de jour (mushroom soupthe chicken satay was more or less a deconstruction of chicken satay as there was a slice of lime pot of peanut butter and 2 sliced bits of chicken on a stick where as the mushroom soup was blended bits of mushroom in water with fresh coriander it was horrendous needless to say it was returned and the manager offered to replace it but if these was the standard of the rest we decided not to the mains we didnt exmuch but they where lovely I had the beef it was slow cooked and the potatoe puree was nice and the cabbage was OK it was a step up from the starter but not what Id expect from this type of restaurant
Lovely surroundings but for a top hotel and restaurant the choice of wine is very disappointing
Good
It was a delicious breakfast, MUST VISIT 💛
Very good prices two spirit drinks for a £10! Only came in for drinks and was nice. They didn’t have rekorderling that day but was okay I got something else instead. Staff at bar were very friendly and helpful! Thank you
Amazing food, first class
I booked the graduation package for the day of my graduation. This was supposed to include balloons, table decorations, cupcakes and two course meal. I turned up and the staff knew nothing about my booking, so I had nothing. My once in a lifetime special day was completely ruined. Also food was cold and overpriced. I am disgusted and extremely disappointed that this happened! No wonder the place was empty
Friday night dinner was amazing massive vibe dj whilst you eat, staff accommodating and jade the manager especially goes out of her way for you! Highly recommended
Fabulous evening celebrating 4 years of marriage returning every year since we got married at the Shankly Hotel I would like to thank Hollie and Ryan for making it special.Lovely food, great service thank you.Mr and Mrs D
Ate here twice over a 2 day stay. I had a pan roasted chicken supreme first and can honestly say it was not Al a carte. More Al a wheelbarrow, dry bland and just not really worth it. Although the cocktails masked my pain of enduring a sub par dining experience, it sadly was not up to standard. Undeterred by my first experience, I thought Id give it another chance and try the Shankly burger. I assume its named the Shankly burger in homage to one of his old pair of football boots. Tough over done and bland presentation was poor. I sent the first failed attempt back in hope I would be delivered something edible. After what seemed like a 90 minute wait, I was served an absolute home goal. Disappointed and approaching the last few seconds of injury time the manager made an appearance. Seemingly agreeing with all of my criticisms of the food she then produced me the full bill for a totally disgusting main. I paid and left. I questioned why somewhere Al a carte couldnt serve a proper burger. 5 guys is over the road and as a fast food restaurant commands a considerably better standard. I am always looking to give a positive and honest review but on this occasion it seems that its status over substance. Very sad as this is a venue with extremely good potential. Perhaps the chef needs to cook himself a P45, because I wouldnt trust him in a McDonalds, to count the sauces.
Dont know how anyone cant give a score of 5, very nice room and unbelievably great food. Room was very good for the price and the food was good prices also. And the peppercorn sauce is the best Ive ever had. 5 stars from me. Could get 10 if i could
Gorgeous food, welcoming service and very beautiful venue!
Lovely food and great service by Ferenc ...nothing was too much trouble and was a lovely and pleasent person..
Not late night food - and rude service - don’t bother
Previously the Shankly Hotel. Wobbly tables, food OK, staff friendly
Food was better than expected. Fish and chips were so good. Staff exceptional... slight wait on drinks.
The best place to eat in Liverpool and staff can not do enough for you they are lovely
Me and my party had afternoon tea at the bastion bar today and it was lovely great variety and quantity. One staff member stood out in particular to us his name was James he really couldnt do enough for us. He really was amazing at what he does and is a great asset to any employer. Would definitely recommend afternoon tea here and then drinks on the roof top as it really is fabulous
Fantastic food the service from fenerch 10 out ten going back this week
Nice place and good service. Only small portions though . Not for those who like a big meal . Only one half a potato with a chicken meal. 🙁
Excellent afternoon tea. Great value and service.
The food was very good, and the sport bar vibe was nice, with lots of interesting memorabilia. Not a great choice of beers. Service was mixed. A very pleasant waitress whose job was made more difficult by slow and uninterested bar staff.
Went for a birthday tea, couldnt fault, price was great, food was amazing, would definitely return.
Went for a meal and to watch the lfc match at porto, but didnt realise until it was too late that during a match, even midweek ones, there is only a choice of a cheeseburger, a very very small bowl of scouse, or a chicken pie. 12 of us watching the match, no one was overly impressed with food at all, disappointing.
I had lunch here with family members, the table was very well prepared and the food was excellent. The service was also good. One small criticism saw two women sat near to us , one of whom was doing the others nails. As you could imagine the smell was not pleasant , particularly while we were eating. I found it incredible anyone would think this was acceptable behaviour! The staff dealt with it promptly and courteously . Other than that incident a very enjoyable visit.
Celebrated mothers day in style. Fabulous food. Fantastic singing from Roselea. Our waitress Lucy was amazing and Gerry made it an all round great experience. The reds won. Doesnt get any better. 5 stars
Great atmosphere, history, people, service, drink ... a cracker of a fab cheesecake of the very finest cool ... and Ference is a waiter of the best grand of all! :-)
Afternoon Tea-rrific! Was looking for an afternoon tea place in Liverpool and it was recommended in an article by the Liverpool Echo. Booked online, its very conveniently located. Had a delicious variety of cakes and sandwiches. Price was also very good. Thank you Ferenc for the incredible service, attentiveness and friendliness that made our afternoon tea unforgettable!
Great experience especially football fans
Had an evening meal in restaurant, the staff were really good, couldnt do enough for. The food came out very quick ( a bit too quickand we had to ask for a slight break between starter and main, I think if we hadnt wed have been served our mains as soon as the starters were finished, some like that, but wed rather take our time.Food was very good, nothing amazing to be honest, but nothing to complain about. One thing that does let this place down is the beer selection, Im really into my beer (proper ales), you often dont get a great selection in places like this but the lager on offer was: Carling, San Miguel & Coors Light on Draft. Peroni , Corona & Desperado in Bottles. There is no variety (or quality in my opinionon offer there, this is a quality place so put something decent on draft or in bottles, there are some brilliant micro breweries and craft ale in Liverpool , get some of these on offer.
Went for the early dinner, 3 courses for £25. Seriously good food and service. And you get to browse among all the Shankley memorabilia.
Fabulous hospitality we didnt stay at the the hotel but we were made comfortable and had Liverpools Best Breakfast £10 per head
Lovely afternoon tea served on picnick benches
we usually always come the shankley for all our family birthdays the last 3 times the staff conveniently forget to take our deposit off the bill they never forget to take your deposit when booking a table i sent a message to query this the response was quite poor. This has put us off coming to the shankley.
Rubbish service, rubbish food, and a manager who couldnt give a you know what because he had only just started ,Nothing bastion about the bastion.
Mediocre food coupled with atrocious service. 1hour 15mins for first dishes to arrive. Over the following 1.5 hours wrong items, forgotten meals mismanaged by dilatory staff. Body swerve this sorry place.
Great food. Good atmosphere. Good service.
My wife and I have just enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea at the Shankly hotel, along with copious amounts of tea and coffee, there was a glass of Prosecco each, a selection of sandwiches, rolls, and wraps, plus an array of mini cakes, topped off with scones, accompanied by jam and cream, well worth the money outlay. All this in a restaurant housed in a beautiful listed building situated in the heart of Liverpools business quarter, the walls decorated with scores of memorabilia dedicated to the great mans life and career. I would definitely recommend a visit, we were even asked if we required a doggy bag to take home the left-overs, but it wasnt necessary as there was nothing left to take! Oh, and the service was excellent too, quick, without being intrusive. I advise you to treat yourself to a visit in the near future, you wont regret it
Lovely afternoon tea and lovely service would definitely recommend
Lovely food, great atmosphere. Only let down is the staff could be a little more helpful and polite.
Just home from 2 nights in Liverpool with my other half...we stayed in the Shankly Hotel and this is the hotel bar. We spent a few hours yesterday and today here having a few drinks and it was heaven. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was good. We had a few of the teapots for 2 and really enjoyed them. Cant comment on the food as we didnt eat here but tables beside us had hot food and afternoon tea and the food looked divine. Would highly recommend this place and also recommend the berry nice teapot for two....totally amazing
Lovely afternoon tea & cocktails!Service was amazing and staff ate lovely.
Nice bar good selection of drinks good cocktails not had any food but it look good
