Intimate locale hosting indie bands & open-mike nights, with a front bar featuring craft cocktails.
This place is a real gem in Spokane. I have been here twice and have seen two surprisingly famous bands and they were both terrific. Surprisingly because the venue is a small intimate club and the prices for yhe bands are cheap.I just saw Krist Novoselics, former bassist from Nirvana, newest band Giants in the Tree with about 100 people in attendance for under $15 per ticket. They were fantastic. Keep an eye on their website for upcoming acts. You wont be disappointed.
At the Bartlett enjoying the music, but its so hot in the venue that its making it hard to enjoy the show.
The band we saw was amazing. The venue is tiny and sound doesnt have anyplace to escape so messes with the music a little. Its a nice bar. Good drinks, and I thought the staff were great. The main area is standing room only and people can be very rude and pushy. They need some type of staff in the same room as the stage so they can help keep people orderly or something. Maybe lines on the floor?I was there at 730 and only 15 feet away from the stage at the start. There were plenty of people in front of us already but some room. As the music started people kept pushing past us and at first it was rude but there was room. Then more came, making us step back because there was no room. Two hours of this and many had drinks they were spilling everywhere. It takes away from the fun. Its interruptive to the show. Its on the same level as getting a cell phone call and answering it during a movie.
I love this venue! Its a small intimate setting but you always feel like part of the show. Most bands come out to meet fans after the show. A true Spokane gem!
Fantastic venue! Definitely would come by again on my travels
A great venue, with one of the best sound systems Ive heard!
Been to the two best shows ever here, Com Truse, and Sonreal. Awesome intimate venue, cant wait to see more shows here in the future!
Loved the venue! What a great experience:we went for a hip hop concert it was super fun and great drinks and staff
Ive always loved the live music here, but as a dancer, I wish there were more space available in the back for dancing. I understand that the audience tends to be a more sedentary one in some cases, though.
Best music venue in town. Proper acoustic treatment so everything you hear is as intended. Intimate setting makes seeing one of your favorite bands that much better. Highly recommended.
Nice venue, strong drinks, a little on the loud side due to the small space - might want to bring earplugs depending on the type of music you are enjoying there. My brother always said that the music should make your ears bleed, this place might be able to achieve that! ;)
The dance floor here is fabulous. It is big enough to get funky on but still a small enough venue to feel intimate. They have a great stage and the lighting and atmosphere for the dance floor are perfect. The bar set up is a bit weird. Its in a very cramped space which makes it uncomfortable when there is a line. I would definitely go again!
Great place to see a show. Gets pretty hot and stuffy and really no seating but great sound and fun room. Loved seeing Kuinka there.
Somebody looked at the smallest, most uncomfortable room and decided to turn it into the absolute best spot to see live music in Spokane. Respect. Ive seen some good stuff at the Bartlett. My music taste is all over the board, and the Bartlett caters to the indie hipster garbage that I love, while also keeping it diverse. I saw Corb Lund there a few months ago, and it ruled. Great venue for indie, country, rock, whatever.
A great venue fot music 👌! The Band South Hill performed, excellent band. I was the first one up to dance, plenty of room on the dance floor! Highly recommend this venue, the vibe was electric!
Might be my favorite place to see a show in all of Spokane! Good sound and you really feel up close and personal with the band. Always a cool crowd and good bands playing there. Also, they do a good job of not only supporting local bands, but being familiar enough with them to expertly match touring bands with great local bands that appeal to the fan base. Ive discovered many great Spokane bands this way.
Hands down my favorite place to see a show in Spokane! Acoustics are great and theres not a bad seat in the house.
Great mid sized venue, super personal shows with a large house party vibe. Super small bar , get your Drinks early or prepare for a line! Full bar with super staff, and you can take your drink inside the venue .
This place is great for local or smaller touring bands. We love to cstch shows here and most are all ages.
Super cute and cozy venue. I’ve had a blast every time I’ve gone to the Bartlett and you always feel like you’re in the front row cause the band is up on stage where everyone can see even while standing up. They have a bar, som food, water, bathrooms, tables and some seating on the side, and great sound from great bands!!Here’s a couple pics of Kuinka, (a local band from Seattlewho’s concert I recently attended, it was a blast and their music is awesome!!
Super friendly staff, the bartenders were nice and the live sound guy was super helpful setting up for our band. Would love to play there more.
Great venue for live music! Good sound guys. Good drinks, not a place for a meal. Very hipster vibe. Gets really hot during a summer show, but if youre there to see a bad you like, who really cares!
The Bartlett is a local gem of a live music venue. With a few more seats and a bigger bar I would give them a 5. But, they recently announced an expansion to a larger space, so it looks like they are moving up.
Great intimate theater with a bar and some food. Just outstanding for seeing any musicians you like. Best for acoustic.
I have had some awesome nights at the Bartlett. They get great acts through town that Spokane never used to see, the sound quality is amazing, and the room looks great. The staff is also always super friendly.
It’s the best venue in Spokane. If you don’t agree, that’s fine, but you’re wrong. It feels a little pretentious if I’m being honest but overall it’s always a great experience. Please sell the fancy concert earplugs at the bar. Ty.
This is a small intimate venue. Good people, fun music from local artists and otherwise. A gem for the music scene in Spokane.
Me and my wife went here to see Indian Goat. It is a fantastic local venue. I wish this place was around when I was younger! My only complaint was no coat check. We will be back!
Great sounding venue bringing some of the best acts to town. The bar area can get a little bottlenecked for the more well attended shows, so arm yourself with some good jokes and ice breakers for your fellow line mates.
Went to see WeAmLiam live here. Awesome atmosphere, nice beer, and is located next to a bunch of parking! Pretty awesome if you ask me!
Small venue with cute bar facing the street, concert area is hidden behind the bar. Clean restroom & suitable for an all ages show. I was pleasantly surprised while bring my 7 year old to her first concert to see her favorite band.
Fun place. Small but intimate bar and venue. Nothing fancy (fine with mebut friendly staff and decent selection. Cheers!
Saw Morgan Saint live.... it was a great intimate venue, she was a sweet Manhattan gurl asked the crowd to come in closer. Nice crowd n she was a nice human being. Bar was limited... needed about 30% more variety in stock but service was good.
This place is so awesome! Great bar area with artsy decor and a cool vibe. Concert area was a perfect size and had a great sound system. A perfect destination for a night out in Spokane.
Hands down Spokanes best venue.Rock, folk, acoustic, hiphop, jazz all sound goodOpen mic nights are once a month so check the calendar.Get a cocktail, you wont regret it!
Ive been to the Bartlett on three occasions. The second time was because I left my credit card. I called to check that my card was still at the bar, and the guy on the phone was friendly. When I got there in person, minutes later, he was exactly the opposite, very short with his responses. There was only one other person in the bar at that time, so I dont understand the curtness. The third time, I was performing at the venue. One of my bandmates and I went to get a drink after soundcheck, and the same bartender was there. This time, there were a few people in the bar area, but they had all been serviced. The bartender stayed at the end of the bar looking at everyone else, while we waited. It was only when we leaned on the bar that he finally came over to us. Never making eye contact, he just stood there until we made a request, that he immediately shot down saying that it wasnt available. When I asked for a food menu, he grabbed one and instead of putting it in my outstretched hand, he tossed it on the table in front of my friend. We both lost our appetites for food and drink after that and walked off.Im from North Carolina, fairly new to Spokane, and keenly aware that there are not a lot of people here who look like me: dark skin and dreadlocked hair. I lived all my life in NC, seeing and experiencing prejudice on a frequent enough basis to identify it when it happens. Feeling these vibes from this bartender on three different instances is more than my imagination, I believe. I could be wrong, but again, Ive witnessed this type of behavior for 26 years. If I am wrong, then theres still the issue of poor service which cant be excused. The Bartlett itself is actually a very nice venue for those wondering. Warm lighting and a chill atmosphere. Three stars for the space alone.EDIT:I really appreciate the offer, but when I come back to The Bartlett, Im fine with paying and supporting the business and/or whatever act may be performing. I will have to disagree with you though, I dont think it can be called a customer service slip-up when its happened consistently. I hold nothing against the staff there, everyone who helped our band set up for our show had great energy. With the bartender, it just got to the point where I had to voice my experiences. However, I wish him, you, and the business the best in the future!
The music was fantastic! Even the bathrooms looked good. The rest of the place, not so great. Folding chairs in the "standing room" area. Not sure where we were suppose to be - in front or off to the side for sitting at a table - confusing. And then theres the really bad drinks. Very bitter and the water not cold. A picture online had salted almonds, no such luck. The bottom of the bag tortilla chips with sour hummas. Left me with a sour mood toward the venue, wishing I could find great music elsewhere.
Great music venue with full bar service and a pay for parking lot next door. Lots of local talent featued, in addition to touring acts. The ambiance is laid back.
1. Attended a slam poetry event here - NOT a poetry slam- they used a subjective decision based on the loudness of audience cheering to judge winners! What?! I was horrified!! They absolutely shouldnt be calling it a slam if they dont follow slam rules. Which are clear and simple. 2. I did not feel welcome. The regulars seem pretty tight. Guess they dont care for newcomers. Saddened by this. 3. Men are definitely not welcome in this particular venue. My experience is that men were not welcome. Again, Ill be the first to admit that it was only my experience and it may not be the general nature of the event. Otherwise, a cute, tiny bar.
Fortunate enough to see "Sally Ford" perform here a few weeks ago. Neat venue with GOOD BEER ON TAP. Will be returning in the future.
Favorite local music venue!! Love all the variety of music they bring to Spokane. Most shows are all ages! Great drinks, FRESH POPPED POPCORN with amazing toppings! What a benefit this place is to the Spokane community
Decent venue with great sound and a cozy environment. Ive seen a couple shows here and they were both good. The lines for drinks can get long.
The Bartlett is one of my favorite places to go for concerts! Tickets are beyond reasonable - usually between $10 and $15 when buying ahead. The venue is small and standing room only. Its a great place to see great bands that dont have the following in a city like Spokane to book the Knitting Factory or the Bing. Theres also a great bar and nice bathrooms.
Nice Place, fun bar to go see a concert at. I saw St. Lucia there last year, small venue of about 150 people standing. Drinks are a bit Pricey $8-$9 for a cocktail and ~$5 for a beer.
Really fun smaller venue for shows. Intimate concerts, and great drinks at the bar. Only real downside is theres one toilet.
A beautiful venue! But--you dont have to be over 20 to be invisibly disabled. For great acoustic bands, like Mandarin Orange, and JOSEPH?I Cant stand UP, the entire concert, and dont want my friends to feelobligated to hang back with me.Maybe... just a few handicapped chairs,in keeping with the aesthetic of the venue? When I go to the Apple Store to browse, or have my Mac looked at?Its a similar tale.No chairs with backs--little bouncy balls for kiddos. They MISS the $$$$$ I might spend, IF I had somewhere to SIT and browse through products.A lovely venue --the Bartlett is!.But if youre not able to stand for length of a great concert? Its demoralizing. Its 2016:There should be some way to accommodate enthusiastic new folk, who just need NOT to stand for entire concert.Blessings!
I am an above average local solo performer and published singer songwriter- I had tried several times to play the open Mic.I will not beg, grovel or compete with locals to get a coveted spot on the stage that comes around once a month.Who ever runs this gig is not presenting local talent to the public- they are making local talents fight for stage time. The wanna bes snap up the play time and musicians like me just go play somewhere else.I gave three stars for the whole place and withheld 2 stars for creating a sign up frenzy culture among my peers.Idaho Charley
This place is awesome. Great bands, low prices, nice people. My only complaints are the lack of seating for old folks like me, and it tends to get hot inside. But even with those two issues I still think they deserve 5/5 :)
Ive seen small, regional artists, to Up and coming national artists here. The vibe is moderately intimate with the size of the venue. Im always down to come out to Spokane and see a show at the Bartlett. Highly recommend to anyone.
I have seen two shows at The Bartlett (Marshall McLean Band and Bronze Radio Return). Both shows completely reframed for me what it means to experience live music. I have seen a variety of concerts and venues throughout Portland, OR, Spokane, WA, and Seattle, WA. The Bartlett is easily the best venue I have ever been to because of the small environment. You feel like you are a part of every show. Its a wonderful commitment they have made to honor the artists who just want to play music and not deal with ticket fees and large corporations. Thanks to The Bartlett for existing!
