Lovely dining pub, cozy atmosphere, nice music, very clean, friendly, food is excellent, management has high standards and welcoming.

My wife decided that she wanted to have a meal out, so we decided to go to the Barn Owl, on arrival we were shown a table and after a few minutes the waiter came and took our order, we only waited for a short while and the food arrived my choice was steak, chicken, ham, sausages peas and chips but they werent your usual chips they were potatoes sliced into rings and fried, I have to say its one of the best meals Ive had in a pub for a long time, my wife enjoyed her meal as well, they have a very good selection of beers on tap but also nice bottled beers, I am definitely going again and would recommend this place, oh and the decor is amazing.

Lovely pub with accommodation in 300 year old building. Excellent food, great breakfasts, nice choice of beer. Second visit for a stay. Lovely atmosphere and helpful staff.

50th bìrthday celebration we were away in a separate room which was great as there was 10 of us.Meal was absolutely spot on ... the only downside with that was we had to pre-order the food before the day. I chose steak, medium rare and was not disappointed ... I would go as far as saying its the best Ive had.The waitress was second to none, I forget her name. Very attentive and also knew when nit to hover ... lovely big smile 😀Would highly recommend

After a picnic at Stover nature park, we called in at The Barn Owl, for a drink and some food on our way home. We sat in the garden there as we had young children with us. Pleased to see the garden was secure by way of a gate, to keep youngsters safe, so we could relax and enjoy the sun shine and not worry about what the children were getting up to. Only had some roast potatoes with gravy, very enjoyable, and a couple of lagers. Stayed for about one and a half hours. Would visit again, it was very nice and the staff were friendly too.

What a lovely friendly atmosphere. The food was tasty, they had 3 ales on that were looked after. They do lunch until 3pm which is a bonus and at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be going back.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Great food. Good service. Will go again! My half roast chicken was lovely and the Key Lime Pie was light and refreshing.Went again and the Pork Loin with mash and broccoli with a creamy mustard sauce was superb! Love this place! Great atmosphere too.

The Barn Owl is a good Pub and Restaurant with polite and helpful staff. There is a good choice of meals and drinks and all are competitively priced. However, there are very limited choices of meals for vegetarians. Also the restaurant needs attention so far as the state of the decor is concerned.

Went for a business meeting / dinner this week and everything was fantastic.Food great, service great, price great, atmosphere great.Thanks to the whole team. Great job.Look forward to coming back soon.

Really charming pub, tastefully decorated throughout with original oak beans and cosy log burners. Great food and customer service. We will definitely be back!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had absolutely no complaints. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was amazing. Would give more stars if we could!!!

Mother had fish and chips fish excellent big white flaky cod. I had the Mediterranean quiche which was very tasty. Warm welcome lovely staff friendly atmosphere. Disabled parking good. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Went for dinner here with a friend on Wednesday night. It was a lovely experience from start until finish. Welcoming staff who were attentive without being intrusive and beautiful food. Good portion sizes and a great selection. Will definitely be back!

I would like to say how much I enjoyed my meal at your pub when I was down on holiday recently. The jacket potato was the best I have had in a long time perfectly cooked and crispy with a dusting of black pepper on. The young lady who served us was very friendly and accommodated the tweaks other members of my party made to their menu choices. Great Pimms too with all the fruit & veg! Wish I lived closer as my family do they go regularly!

Had a meal tonight with family making a group of 10 people. The staff were fantastic, the food was delicious, really great timing for food delivery and we had a great evening. Highly recommend the special of the day beef ale and Stilton pie.

Wonderful service and food, last min decision to go out and they were very accommodating allowing our puppy in as well.I had mix grill which was best Ive ever had and partner had a chicken pie on specials menu.Couldnt of been happier.Only regret I didnt take pic of the mains to add but heres the desserts we had.5 star rating (food quality, service, hygiene, parking, pet friendly)

Brilliant English pub meal experience!The staff are all fantastic, the atmosphere is lovely, lots of wood beams on show, odd real wood furniture, candle lit seating, very quaint but also bizarrely modern feel. My youngest said he felt like he was in a Harry Potter Pub..The food was gorgeous, my Wife had the Sea Bass which was stunning! I had the Mixed Grill, my steak was cooked perfectly, tender, juicy and very tasty, the Gammon, Sausages and Chicken were tasty and obviously high quality and fresh, my boys had the BBQ ribs and a couple of starters between them and were very satisfied with their choices.I would highly recommend this place if youre looking for somewhere nice to eat.

Nice Sunday roast. Well cooked and generous portions. Quaint pub. Well kept beer. If you want a top notch Gastropub this is not it. Good for simple, good value family meal out.

Never been before so was pleasantly surprised...... A very nice dog friendly pub where you get space from the table next to you as opposed to being crammed in like sardines..... Lovely food but only one vegan option so hence four instead of five stars. (Though the dessert was rather lush!)

I visited with my family for lunch today whilst we were in the area on holiday. What a find!! I had the rack of ribs, my husband a mixed grill and our girls had the adult burgers! All were absolutely delicious. Came in good time and were very tasty!The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. I’m so impressed I’m writing this review whilst waiting for dessert! So good to find a pub in good order, serving delicious food with great staff!!

Spent last night at the absolute gem of a place. We needed somewhere after a day at Newton Abbot races and didn’t want anywhere too far away. Found The Barn Owl on Booking.com and what a place it turned out to be. Decor throughout has been so tastefully done. We stayed in a twin room which was large, newly decorated and just beautiful. Meal at the bar in the evening which was delicious. All of our party had something different to eat and every meal was excellent. Breakfast this morning was wonderful too. Nothing not to like, would definitely go back. An awesome find!

It is probably my local. Well nearest pub. Its fine. A part of a big chain but its clean, the food is good, the staff are always friendly. Good parking a beer garden oh and a pool table upstairs. Bit worn but always good fun.The beers are also good.So whats not to like about it.It is what it is, but its "okay" actually.

The Staff amazing, welcoming and friendly, the pub part was busy but had a lovely feel.The room was clean and had a bonus of a night light in the bathroom so you didnt need to put on a light.The foid was amazing from the chef Andy. Out of the way although there is a housing estate now being built behind.

Always have the mixed grill here. Every part is great quality well cooked food. Staff always amazing too and the location is so easy to get to. If they would let you pay extra to upgrade the rump to sirloin it would probably be a 5/5 tbh, since its such good value aswell

We have been coming here over the last 2yrs....in and out of the lockdowns ....both at lunchtimes ( in the lovely garden and early Sunday evenings. We have never had a bad meal let alone bad service. So friendly and always a good atmosphere, this pub is so quaint and has lots of nooks and crannies, so you can have privacy even though it may be busy. Finding a pub that does a decent roast and yes.....does lamb!! ...is difficult. But The Barn Owl does it all !!!!! Brilliant and well done....

Been 18 years since I was last there. Its improved greatly,the toilets were clean and fresh, the food was delicious, the Badger ale superb, but the waiter Will and the chef went out of their way to cater for a patron with lactose and gluten intolerance. Thanks everyone.

It is our second visit staying at the Inn the room, food and service was excellent as per the first time we booked. Gerald and his staff make you feel welcome and are very accommodating. We will be back again soon.

Lovely little inn with ample character lovely wood wood beams. Room was very comfortable cosy with all the mod cons. Very clean cant fault it will be staying here again. Plenty of free parking. Just a shame the restaurant was closed. Otherwise superb. My room was the Fox 😊 10 out of 10 👌

Food was good, staff whizzed about like wirlwinds.Nice old pub and restaurant.Didnt like the ornamental stuffed owls on display, not keen on seeing dead things when Im eating.But overall good service.
