A few blocks from Albert Park, this straightforward hotel is a 10-minute walk from Teesside University, a 15-minute walk from Dorman Museum and 1.1 miles from Riverside Stadium. The warm, modern rooms with sleek bathrooms come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and tea and coffeemaking equipment. Upgraded rooms add sitting areas; family rooms are also available.Breakfast is free, as is parking. Dining options include a British restaurant serving 3 meals a day, and a bar/lounge for drinks and light meals. Laundry facilities and a meeting room are also available.
Stayed one night here to watch the Middlesbrough football game. The bathroom was gross. Toilet cleaner in the bowl hadn’t been cleaned away. Multiple hairs on the toilet seat. Lots of mildew in the shower grout lines.Noisy room and could hear the neighbours all night long. Debris on the hotel room carpet floor; didn’t seem freshly vacuumed.Bed was comfy. Breakfast was ok as well. Minimal, but hit the spot.
Good quality restaurent, good food and frjendly staff
Dirty rooms , filthy mattresse ,tried one meal and sent it back twice then had a refund on the meal. Did not try the breakfast after that. They moved me to the bridal suite after I complained . That room was better but not brilliant
I didn’t stay here but I spoke to a lovely gentleman over the phone and he was so polite and patient that is so important in that type of job!
I travelled to Middlesbrough on a business trip and booked this lovely little hotel due to the location and price. I had a lovely trip - the receptionist was polite and professional, the service was fantastic, they have a nice bar with seating area, and the room was comfy with a nice double bed.
Best Indian food I had in the UK.Not that expensive compared to other indian restaurants
Biggest regret staying here, room was not cleaned, shower was broken would spray water allover the bathroom, mattress were so old n hard got a backache after a 2 night stay at the hotel
Great stay, professional and efficient. Beds are very comfortable and service was great.
Staff were brilliant and so helpful especially as I had my daughter who is a wheelchair user with me. Even though there aren’t any lifts, staff always helped me with her. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast spread was good with buffet style as well as table service. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again as location is very good too.
when you first walk in it seemed a lovely place. unfortunately it went downhill from there. Not a chance stopping again noise staff up all night talking banging about stopped night before my wedding had about 1.40 minutes sleep which wasnt good
Craving for South Indian dishes, then this is the right place .Adorable price
I booked my son in , the cost of it was quoted at £60 for a room however they asked me for an additional £50 for deposit I was told I would be given this back in the morning and when I ask for a receipt they told me no and that it was not necessary , on collection of my son I was told he had placed his sock over the smoke alarm and because of this wouldn’t be given my deposit back after seeing it I could tell it was a pillow case not a sock it couldn’t of been a sock because my son didn’t take any clothes with him and left with the clothes he came in.
my niece with 2 others booked the Baltimore Hotel for their daughters Holy Communion.when you first walk in it seemed a lovely place. unfortunately it went downhill from there. Although the lady behind the bar was lovely. Although the majority of the drinks where in cans or bottles, they didnt have diet coke or pepsi. Later in the afternoon they didnt have glasses either. While the lady from the bar set out the buffet there was a long queue at the bar and the receptionist telling people that when the lady comes back, she would serve us.I know my niece and the others paid over £500 pounds for the buffet and at no point did the quality of the food reflect the price. It was an extremely basic buffet and the sandwiches had turned stale and were filled with processed cheese slices and cheap ham. Nothing had been homemade and it tasted like the cheapest food had been bought The salad looked like it had been cut 3 days ago. The food certainly did not look as if Food & Hygiene Standards had been adhered too. There was alot of food left on the guest tables, wasted because it was awful.Mid afternoon the ladies toilets flooded and lady guests were asked to use the gents.I would not recommend The Baltimore Hotel for any sort of function.I also hope they refund my niece and friends because their guests memories of this special day will be the shambolic display of food and 3 very upset and embarrassed mothers.
Great service and the rooms are clean and nice.
Never thought I could get such a bad experience in a hotel. The hotel surroundings are horrendous.Everything in the room except from the bed and the towels were dirty. The place to have meals was not maintained. The breakfast was bad, and lacking food replacement at 8h in the morning. See photos to confirm. The only good part was the personnel’s sympathy.
Its a bit of a strange one because the staff were just lovely, however the experience wasnt the best.Checking in the card wouldnt work so we were told to go to the bar while it was sorted ... however the bar person was off so I was offered a glass of wine in a gin glass by the chef ... in fairness it wasnt his job ... but it felt a little like Fawlty Towers at this point. The room was actually quite nice, apart from the placement of the tv, kind of hanging in mid air by the bathroom door. The bathroom was decorated lovely but there was a note explaining that it takes 15 mins for hot water to get to the taps, some eco system ... I didnt bother trying. We were situated by the stairs and I have no idea what was going on but i was woken around 2.30 am by people having a full on conversation, normal voices, noone trying to speak quietly, it lasted for about 5 mins .... it was very noisy at night but that couldve been our location.Breakfast is included and its quite nice, certain things could be better, hot tea rather than warm, asked if we would like toast ... we were the only ones in the dining room it comes out cold ?? second day I remembered and asked for Hot tea and hot toast ... it was no problem for themThe staff are just lovely...helpful, enthusiastic but the hotel is an experience
Location for what I needed was great. Facilities not so. But if you want a place to sleep refresh then i guess this is the place for you. Dont necessarily think Ill attempt this place again. Used it twice but I think i can safely say its not for me.
Very good hotel excellent service MAHMOUD at the disk was very helpful. Will visit again.
Great place nice and clean good bed lovely staff.
Excellent service from the staffs and great food too. Its a must try place in Middlesbrough with affordable prices.
For the price was good and staff friendly and helpful, excellent parking and nice breakfast.
Staff very nice. Excellent service, very nice hotel, food was very good
Went to party venue staff were polite and helpful will definitely book next time.
Remembering this was among the cheapest hotels (half the pricethe rooms and beds are comfy, the bathrooms are modern and the TV signal and WiFi better than any others. The bonus is the staff, very pleasant and keen to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast is great and the restaurant food quality way above the price point.2nd time Ive stayed and will keep coming back. Parking is also excellent and the hotel is central to city centre amneties. ***** stars.
Functional room. Had everything we needed. Shower needs attention as the water sprays everywhere.
Avoid! To get straight to the point the place is disgusting ! I have pictures of everything from stains on seats, stains on Walls, tea cups dirty, toilet brush dirty, bed broken and to top it off stained towels ! Just dont even waste your money. We didnt even stay in the room we checked outstraight away
Newly refurbished room but really thought out as no plugs for kettle except right by the bed, king-size and lovely and new but only a few inches either side to get around so plugging a kettle in was a mission, no signal to TV at all! New carpets so lovely and clean but raised carpet strip which only needed 2 screws to make it safe, 2 cups but 1,saucer and 1 spoon, attention to detail needed
Dirty Room, Cupboards doors hanging off, The Light fitting above the bed smashed just bare globes with jagged glass. Noise levels from Bar below were excessive. Checked in and within 20 minutes booked another hotel and checked out. NO REFUND.
The staff couldnt have been more friendly, kind and helpful. This hotel was excellent value for money, comfortable and warm. The food in the restaurant was delicious.
I spent a couple of nights here and although the staff was friendly I was not impressed with the facilities. The outside of the building and reception area is very nice, but the 3 bed room we stayed in was very small. The bedding was not clean but was changed once we notified them. The hot water was lukewarm, There was black mold between the tiles in the shower. The remote control had no back to it so batteries are exposed, missing light bulb to ceiling fitting. No drinking water supplied. The little bowl on the table with the sugar, tea etc must have been sitting there for weeks it was covered in dust and packets was literally stuck to the bowl, around the tap at the hand basin was grimy, the power went off once whilst in the room and the card to get access into the room had to be reprogrammed a couple of times as it would not release the lock - I have been to other hotels and was glad to leave. They really need to pay attention to detail and do a thorough check of the rooms before booking them out.
Disgusting place. Cleanliness zero. Shower covered in black mold, sink blocked, hair and dust all over the place. Drink stains and whatever else on the walls and skirting boards. I didnt have the balls to pull the sheet of the bed for the fear of what I might find.Looks OK from the front of the building and the reception is OK but dont be fooled by this, stay clear.
Staff where lovely stayed there since the 17th of December and checked out on the 21st, all round the hotel is a lovely place the only things that need addressing is the hot water in the shower
Yeah nice and pretty but bed sheets were thin and shower wouldnt get hot. But Im from Yorkshire and delt with it. Would suggest to other people
Staff where so friendly they done everything within their power to help me as i am wheelchair bound.Breakfast was good rooms for disabled. Could not ask for a more comfortable stay. Thank you.
The staff couldnt be more helpful. My room was clean and modern enough for a budget option in Middlesborough. The room was a little small, but as a solo traveller, this wasnt a deal-breaker. I appreciated that breakfast was served from 7:30am. Would certainly stay here again when Im next in Middlesborough.
As a regular hotel stayer. 2 front of house staff were wonderful. Thats when it went downhill. Bed was uncomfortable the bathroom was dirty. The breakfast staff was a joke. Didnt even get breakfast. The manager was unhelpful and rude. Plus 2 motorbikes from another party were STOLEN. With a night porter on all night😱1 gate in 1 gate out. Asleep maybe? AVOID AVOID AVOID
For what we paid was value for money but what you get is basically a room. Bar was closed and was told theres a pub up the road. Breakfast next morning was full English. No sausage and bacon was like bacon in Spain, small streaky. TV not working in room, says at reception due to fire at signal station, that was fixed ages ago so hotel need to sort. Hotel check in Sunday 3pm. We arrive 3.15pm and room not ready. Got in from 3.45 so not the best. Staff friendly but overall just lacking that professional touch.
The room was dirty, bathroom was dirty, shower head was broken & leaking, shower doors were broken, black mould around the shower tray & doors, the shower tray was unsecured and moved when you stepped on it, the bed was uncomfortable, the mattresses itself was terrible, extremely uncomfortable & had no support on one side, so you laid on one side and physically fell into the huge dip on the other side. The hotel is noisy & you can hear anything from somebody walking past your room, somebody talking in another room, doors opening, pretty much any noisy you can imagine in a hotel either keeps you awake or wakes you up. Because of this I didn’t sleep at all. When I went down to reception at after midnight to let them know. The hotel staff were very rude and told me that I was lying. I wanted to check out of the hotel immediately after that. That was the last straw. Please learn from my mistakes & don’t stay at this hotel. I don’t want anyone else to suffer what I experienced.
Travelling for work and We might have been unlucky but our experience was not good. I hope I dont have to stay in this hotel again. The room smelled bad, was very small for 2 people (it was basically a single room that was crammed with a second bed to turn in into a twinthe white duvet was no longer white, the hot water had very little pressure and was always going too cold and too hot and to top it up they had run out of towels so we only had one in our room. The receptionist was very nice to us so that is the only good thing I have to say.
Room wasnt clean, bed very uncomfortable, waited over 20 minutes at breakfast and no drinks had arrived or food order been taken , staff at breakfast were rude , no bacon or sausage on the full breakfast . Ended up walking out and going to mc Donalds and we werent the only ones who did this. Wouldnt recommend and would definitely not stay again
This was a last minute booking and was not worth the money paid. The room I stayed in had stains in the carpets the dressing table was stained and had what looked like napkins from the resurant covering it up. The bed side table had something melted on it and was not the cleanest room. When I went to get the spare pillows from the wardrobe the covers had stains on what I can only describe as the previous guests make up. Loud at night and not well maintained. The TV was out which I later found out was not due to the hotel but no effort to make customer aware of this was made. Food innthe hotel also wasnt great the food came out greasy and the curry I orderd was watery and bland. Wont be staying here again good if your looking for somewhere to crash for a night out if the price was right but other wise over priced for what it was when there is a Premier inn down the road.
One of the worst places Ive stayed. Dated room. Noisy hotel. Hard bed. Rude staff. Breakfast is appalling, no choice given and had to wait half an hour for an egg, beans and sausage to be plonked down in front of us. 2 others complaining at the same time.. 2 bikes got stolen from the car park the night we stayed also. Horror hotel! And to expect £90 for the privaliage 😂 absolutely laughable!
We booked the "Luxury Double Suite" and when we arrived it was disgusting. The entire room was filthy, from the dirty and broken jacuzzi bath to the couch covered in crumbs. Most of the furniture was damaged and dirty and the view from the bathroom window was of some dirty underwear tangled on the barbed wire roof. When we told the management, they were quick to blame the cleaner who wasnt present at the time. The management made us very uncomfortable by telling us that the cleaner would lose her job. This was told to us repeatedly as if it was supposed to be for our benefit? I have tried to contact OYO for a refund as this was requested at the time - I have not received any response from OYO and have not received my refund.DO NOT STAY HERE!
Second to non service , made sure we had everything we needed me and the partner stayed in the honeymoon suite. It was amazing! More than you could ever need jacuzzi, powershower lovey place well presented and polite couldnt ask for more , will be up again very soon definitely recommend !
Awful hotel. Party going on till early hours loud music and people talking. 3am they were scrapping tables across the floor presumably to get ready for breakfast in the morning. 4am someone was banging around in the store room next to our room.Breakfast was lukewarm so we left it, another party complained about theirs being cold too and they walked out.Room was dated, broken toilet roll holder and shampoo dispenser. Table holding kettle was very stained. And to top it all our room was double booked another family was staying in the room and when they went out they moved us in.I would have given no star rating if it let me do that, this is a terrible hotel dont stay there.
Great place from the inside out. Very clean and tidy with a massive bed too, Staff extremely pleasant and helpful, plus the owner is a decent guy too. I will definitely be coming back to stay here again. Cheers Neil
Great location and beautiful on the inside. Didnt get to use the full services due to Covid but we were shown around and cant wait to book again once everything is open. Peasant and helpful stuff on hand at all times and the room was immaculate. 5 stars all around
Wanting information on hiring a room for a special occasion phone 3 times left messages for manager to call me on the 3rd attempted he phoned me back. Went to see the room as we entered the reception area it was dirty and I do understand places are just started to reopen but this should of been cleaned and ready for your up and coming guest. Member of staff shown me around did not have a clue not very good communication from staff and really not very good all round
Chose to stay here while I was having some work done on my house.Room was small but spotlessly clean with unlimited access to fresh, clean towels. Bath sheets were a proper sheet size , theres nothing worse than towels the size of postage stamps !Staff were so lovely, nothing was too much trouble for them.Breakfast was basic, but there was plenty of it with a good choice of hot dishes .Small selection of bar meals available on an evening, portion sizes were huge. I had the chicken curry which was really tasty , I couldnt finish it !Considering the price, it was extremely good value for money . Lost a star because the reception looks a bit shabby and the bar layout wasnt fantastic, but ideal if on a budget .
If this was channel 4s four in a bed, I wouldnt have stayed the night. Unfortunately, we had payed upfront. The only reason I have given 2 stars is because of the lovely young female on the front desk who checked us in. Otherwise I would have given a 1 star, just like the food hygiene rating for the restaurant.Rooms are very outdated, no central heating, just plug in radiators which probably, just like the hair dryer, havent been Pat tested since 2016.The room was visiably dirty when we walked in, including sticky marks from spilt drinks on the table and fixtures falling off the walls. The only positive, is that the bedding appeared clean. No need to ask for a wake up call, you will not require one. As youll get woken up by the staff in the hall way calling the dog back at 4:45am.Breakfast was a totally new experience. Which, if I knew at the time of eating had a 1 star food hygiene rating. Id have chosen to fast on that particular morning. When you go to leave, theirs a box to put your room keys in and you are not asked if youve had a nice stay... I wonder why.
