Wonderful food and excellent service!! We had a fantastic evening, our first visit and would definitely return.Menu was a set price for 2 or 3 courses. There was about 6 choices for each course - so something for everyone….we can recommend the steak!!

The food was amazing. Had the bread, olives and venison bon bons to share on the table for starters and then the group had the deer kebab, the steak, the stag burger and the mussels - all went down a treat. The waitress Liz was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable she gave a great wine recommendation. We finished off with the sundaes. Will be returning - live local but havent been in years I have a feeling this will now be one of our favourite places to eat!

I emailed The Bailiwick the feedback Ive posted below the same day as our visit via their website. I wanted to give them an opportunity to respond rather than just posting a review on here. A week later and Ive had no response, which probably says it all.---I wanted to give some feedback on visiting you for lunch today, rather than simply leaving a review on Google. We were really looking forward to eating with you, but our visit was disappointing. The core issue was the portion size of the mussels and fishcake (particularly the latter). They were very much starter size in our opinion. One of the mussels dish had seven empty mussel shells, making the actual serving of food even smaller. We politely informed our waiter who said he would pass the information back to the kitchen. We heard nothing more. The man who then originally greeted us, I assume the FOH manager, then came to clear. He said nothing about the food even though I had overheard him asking the waiter what was wrong. We politely repeated the feedback about portion size, and also told him that the batter on the fish was undercooked on the inside. Our comments were not taken well. His response was curt and patronising, bordering on rude.We very much understand the importance of food provenance and that quality ingredients cost money. We dont need it explaining in a patronising manner. Were happy to pay for quality food hence choosing to visit your pub which positions itself higher than many other pubs in the area.Being given the bill, we were informed that the service had been taken off. We paid and left without acknowledgement or being thanked by anyone. It wasnt the experience we were expecting in many ways.

Really pleased to see this great little pub re opened.Booking online was super easy. We arrived today for our first anniversary meal. We were greeted at the door by the waiting staff and shown our seats. I like the way the interior has been designed, with the bar, front and centre. Our server Liz was delightful, very knowledgeable about the dishes and you could see she had a passion in what she did.Everything from the antler handled cutlery to the freshly made sourdough bread to the pastry chef was sublime.3 courses for £50, was worth every penny. I started with the Shellfish gratin, moved to the Venison reared in Windsor Great and finished with the Grown Up Knickerbocker Glory.

The Baliwick is one the my favorite pub/ restaurants and last night’s dinner there was absolutely amazing. Worthy of any Michelin starred chef, and better than most I’ve had. My steak was simply delicious, one of the best ever. All the food was incredible and the service outstanding. I could go on and on about the ambiance, location (edge of Great Park), food presentation, menu, etc - but the star is the food. Absolutely delicious.

Recommended to come to The Bailiwick by some friends who said the food was interesting and had that special touch. The menu was lovely and definitely interesting. Big portions - so much so no space for dessert so that is something to go back for. Service was great and staff so friendly. We will return.

Amazing on every aspect. Had dinner here and was so impressed by the delicious food that has plenty of fine-dining flair yet is sufficiently homey and comforting for a pub. Service was outstanding- again, fine-dining level with a friendliness and relaxed nature befitting of the place. I’ll be back!

If I could give six stars I would. This place is outstanding. Absolutely worth travelling for.We enjoyed a Saturday evening dinner in the bar area with our dog, made to feel not just welcome but at home.Liam and all of the staff are perfectly attentive without being intrusive. The food was everything we hoped, absolutely stunning, from the venison bon bons to the lemon parfait, I will not be surprised at all if they receive a Michelin star, and it would be entirely deserved.Looking at the other reviews shows a constantly evolving and seasonal menu, and I cant wait to go back to try some other dishes. This is everything a gastro pub should be. Relaxed and modern environment, with food that any fine dining restaurant would be proud of.I have included a couple of photos but honestly they do not do the food justice. Experience it in person!

The food here is superb, the service is fantastic, it was my wifes birthday and they kindly did something special for her. The gentleman who served us was knowledgeable, personable and really funny. A random point to make here - the toilets smelled so good, they were clean and decorated very stylishly!

We had a warm welcome from Liam and discreet attentive service from Emma.Food was excellent, well presented, particularly the Venison Bon Bons and desserts by pastry chef Ami.Emma took a lot of time to make sure our dietary requests were fulfilled and took time to help us choose the best wines to pair with our food choices.A most enjoyable evening, Thank you.

We ate here twice last week as the food and service were outstanding. Amy, the chef, makes everything from scratch including making cider bread on a daily basis. Ive included a photo of the pear and vanilla parfait, which was exceptional. The outside was a jell with the parfait inside and the leaves were flavoured with cinnamon.Liam served us both times and he is a real credit to the place. Hes very attentive and makes you feel at home.Unfortunately I live an hour away otherwise I would eat there every week.

Theres something not quite right about this place. The food is very good but there was an air of unease about the place. For a start we were shown to our seats in the downstairs area which was cramped and enclosed. We asked to be seated upstairs by a window as we are still trying to keep some distance from other people. We were told that the two empty tables were pre-booked and we would have to eat at the bar which we did. By the time we had left, the tables had still not been taken. We eventually settled in lounge chairs by a window so that was ok. However the chips we ordered were forgotten and had to be chased up; we asked if they could turn the music down and they said they would (but didntand a couple with a new baby two tables down thought it would be great fun to make the baby squeal with delight which was very tedious after twenty minutes. It wouldnt have taken a moment for the staff to ask them to calm down a bit as a respect to the other diners. I just dont think this place is anywhere near as good as the owners think it is.

I feel very lucky to have the Bailiwick as a local pub/restaurant. The food and service are both exceptional on equal measures. (Shout out for Liam, Liz and Emma that looked after us on Saturday night 😊 Another plus is the location - it’s perfect for anyone wanting to explore Great Windsor Park. And dogs are welcome 🐶

There have not been many times in my foodie life that I get absolutely blown away but I can honestly say that this was one of those occasions. On our previous to the Bailiwick Freehouse we have enjoyed a fabulous lunch , an evening a la carte and a fantastic sunday lunch. But what we experienced on saturday evening was nothing short of stunning. We headed from east to west to arrive at one of the entrances to the Windsor Great Park on Wick Road. Here is where you’ll find the Bailiwick. As we approached out came manager Liam to give us a fabulous welcome before escorting us inside to our table. We started with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine while enjoying a nice catch up with Liam and Liz.We were then in for a lovely surprise as from the kitchen came owner’s Steven and Ami to welcome us back. Then after a quick chat they said that they would be more than happy to create a special menu for us. Well this was such an amazing gesture and we were delighted to accept. So with that they both headed back to the kitchen. We then chose a fabulous bottle of Chateau Cap de Merle 2018 from Bordeaux which paired perfectly with the food. This started with the arrival of the amazing Windsor Great Park Venison Bon Bons and Mustard Mayonnaise. Now it was time for the first course and what a dish it was to. The Red Deer Tartare with pine oil emulsion , smoke mayonnaise & brioche accompanied by a game broth was simply stunning. This was followed by their homemade bread and butter. What was to follow was doughnut heaven. The Pheasant Doughnut with truffle and parmesan custard just blew us both away.If we thought things couldn’t get any better then what was to follow changed that as we were treated to a brand new dish coming to the menu very soon and believe me you’ll be in for a treat. The Mallard with truffle mash , confit leg croquette and accompanied with a mixed game cassoulet and chicken liver parfait was out of this world. It just goes to show that when you have amazing produce from the Windsor Great Park and put it in the hands of fantastic chefs then the result is going to be nothing short of perfection. Now it was time for pastry chef Ami to takeover. This started with a delightful pre dessert of Quince and Ginger Sorbet. What was to follow was no surprise because Ami’s desserts are always delicious. The Bavarois of yorkshire rhubarb , vanilla , confit ginger & lemon balm was a true delight as was the Trifle of clementine leaf custard , mandarin jelly , blood orange sorbet & marigold. We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to an end an absolutely amazing evening. But this was not before Steven and Ami came to join us at the table for a drink. This gave us the opportunity firstly to thank them both and to tell them how fantastic the food and desserts were as well as the fabulous friendly service from Liam , Liz and the team. I really can’t recommend a visit to the Bailiwick highly enough because as I said earlier when you have this kind of produce along with chefs as talented as this then you are not going to be disappointed in the slightest. We certainly will be back again very soon.Thank You Steven , Ami , Liam , Liz and all the team for a fantastic evening and look forward to seeing you all again soon

There aren’t enough stars to express how wonderful the food is here. Sunday lunch was just divine. Thick cut freshly roaster beef- cooked to perfection. Beautifully Cooked and presented fresh vegetables. The dessert was an absolute WOW 🤩 moment. Amazing skills by the pastry chef. It was a work of art. A pear parfait which when delivered I thought was an actual pear! All this complemented by a gorgeous smooth Malbec and great service.

Unusual menu. Stag burger on Gluten Free bun and chunky chips delicious! For desert I ordered a pear parfait. When it arrived it looked a bit plain..... until I started to eat it... it was absolutely gorgeous..... massive well done to the Chef. Best desert ever in my mind and ok for Gluten free diet. It is not cheap for a meal.... but well worth the extra you pay for a high quality lunch out. It is situated in Windsor Great Park.... so fantastic walks right outside the door. 10/10 from me!

One of the best Sunday roasts I have had in a long time. Well presented, tasty, perfectly cooked. Roast beef was tender, Yorkshire Pudding were a decent size, Roast Potatoes were crispy, fluffy inside and perfectly cooked, nice selection of veg, with a sumptuous Beef and Onion gravy. Staff were absolutely fabulous, especially Liz who was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience. We went on a Friday evening having booked via OpenTable. Beautiful decor inside the pub, smart and really friendly staff. And the food, oh my goodness! Just lovely. We had three courses each and a couple of alcoholic drinks each and coffees for an extremely reasonable £80 a head. Definitely coming back soon. Well done to the Bailiwick team for taking over in lockdown and creating the gem that they have. Seriously great job.

A service so personal, we felt like we were the only guests in the restaurant. The food was wonderful, hello bon bons, and I thoroughly recommend the sea bass. We sadly didnt have quite enough room for desserts but fixed this with a half hour walk. We were warmly welcomed back by Liam, who at this stage, already felt like an old friend. It was as if the stars had aligned and the dessert gods had spoken. The raspberry trifle ticked every box on my pud wish list and Id happily return just for this. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Wow! Family gathering made special by the superb service received by the staff especially Liz. The food was exceptional from the delicious venison bonbons to the light and fluffy doughnuts but the star of the show was the prime rib which is up there with places like Simpsons on the Strand, the quality and presentation was second to none. Great to see the whole team from Oxford Blue working their magic once again at the Baliwick. The food and service was top notch, and my high expectations were met.
