The Avenue Pub in New Orleans

Only had one drink there due to time constraints, but the bartender was friendly and efficient. Seemed like a very local place, as evidenced by two older gentlemen silently sitting at the bar while they nursed their beers. Almost expected someone to ask "Yall aint from around here, are ya?" And was honestly disappointed when they didnt. Would return again.

Not a vast array of taps, it is instead a fantastically curated array of taps. Duvel, Ommegang, Brouwerij Huyghe, and many locals. Wide assortment of beers, foods, and even a couple TVs with varied sports. There is music from speakers, but it is of a reasonable volume.

Come in here every time Im in town and never disappoints. Food is good, drink selection better, staff is welcoming.

People are really nice and the drinks are great. No Busch produces but being a bud light girl I found something close.

GREAT local flavor and pub setting. Try the blood orange Old Fashion please. The bars got some magic goin on. The Toast Aux Champignon is a specialty for a very good reason and if youre stuck on which grilled cheese to order…Get the one with the pear... yep...spicy pear. It changed me. WONDERFUL service, very cool folks made superb recommendations. The whole menu looked good. I cant wait to go back.

Food is very good. The Last Word cocktail is highly recommended and it is literally the last word at the end!

Quite great food, service, and atmosphere. Portions, especially of the steak, are slightly small. The beer is good.

Beer was great. Taps kept in great shape. Food was good, especially for bar food. Fries are basically poutine. Not my favorite, butt they were out of mussels. Bartenders were nice, too!

This is one of the Great beer pubs in America. Fantastic taps, an extensive bottle collection, find whiskeys and a world war II submarine sized galley kitchen that turns out fabulous food. If you come to New Orleans you must come check this place out if you love beer

A nice, peaceful pub easy to get to on your way back from the Garden District. The Brussel sprouts are incredible and they even have ginger beer on tap for those of us that don’t drink.

What a hidden gem! Service and food was amazing. Food was wonderful! Best burger and to die for fries but the star was the Toast aux Champignons!

Great spot to grab a drink and maybe a bite to eat. We had great service; can’t remember the ladies name but she seemed like a manager. Would recommend checking it out!

It seems like this place is under new ownership. Its got a different, less dark and grungy vibe. Beer selection is still good.

I combined their escargot and their French fries with bechamel to make the sloppiest garlic sandwich ever. So so good.

We had an amazing afternoon here!!! Naima was the best! There were 10 of us in the "bro-top" for a bachelor party. The only thing better than the drink selection was the service! This place is a must for beer and/or whiskey enthusiasts.

Some unique dishes. Different beer selection. Seemed like some upkeep was needed. Some of the beers were pricy for a small amount. Pretzels are the bagged variety, not doughy. Snails were good.

Way fancier menu than expecting which seemed out of line with the ambiance of the establishment. Also had a very poor experience with a large boisterous group of drunk folks at 5 pm disrupting dinner for everyone else in the back patio.

0 complaints!! Maybe 1… wish I had MORE fish in my fish fry (it was so good two weren’t enough)! Went during the 1st of April and the fish fry was amazing. The frozen sangria was amazing! Would drink again. My partner had the hard kombucha and loved it. Ordered one of the sandwiches (couldn’t pronounce the nameand loved it. The potatoes are to die for! I the French fries and they were good but got cold fast! The staff was very kind and attentive. Would eat here again!

I love this bar. Good food and even better beer list. I stumbled upon it accidentally a few times and now make a point to go there whenever Im in town.

Been coming here since the 90s. Both the pub and my taste have grown since those days. Much more sophisticated adult beverages in both the craft beer and whiskey now of dayz. Hamburgers are always on point. The new-ish bright color paint job will take some time to get used too... This was, is, and will always be, my happy place in N.O.

Mmm the grilled cheese with goat cheese was so yummy! There are a few other things I want to go back and try! It’s a bar, but it has a nice ambiance and location and the staff was nice.

We had a fun time catching a couple of parades here! The line for drinks moved quickly & really appreciated the clean restrooms...both of which are difficult to find along a packed parade route...so we stayed put! Will return one day to try the menu, which others were saying was very good!

I wasnt expecting the food to be as good as it was and they have a great amount of beer. Im a IPA guy myself and the one I ordered hit the spot. The service was great as well. Dont judge the place based on the looks.... Its reasonably priced with amazing service.

Easily the best beer bar in New Orleans if not the best bar period. Stellar draft and bottled beer selection as well as an amazing whiskey selection with fair prices. The food is excellent as well and it offers one of the best balconies around. Cannot recommend highly enough

This place was on my "want to go" list since the news report regarding restaurant & COVID19 restrictions. I wanted to support the owner and her staff. I also felt it would be safe for indoor dining. I was not disappointed. Recently due to the Citys mandate, patrons are required to wear mask & proof of vaccination. We visited at lunchtime on 8/21/2021and was cheerfully greeted at the door, requested to see docs (card & IDand she actually read them. This gave me a welcome sense of safety. I had attempted to visit other establishments where they barely look or never ask for ID. That is my hint to immediately retreat.Avenue Pub has an eclectic decorum with a comfortable, casual feel. Our Server was attentive & timely. The brussel sprouts with feta cheese and Pub Burger were delicious. My sister devoured her sprouts & Shrimp Salad. The bar appears well stocked although we didnt partake. There is ample outdoor seating for those who want to brace the heat. Please visit, enjoy and respectfully tip. Well be back. ⚜😷🙂

The Pub burger was absolutely delicious as well as the sangria! The water was given on an extremely HOT day so really appreciated that touch! Overall would definitely return for the food and drinks!

This place was great. We came here and the staff was supremely friendly. We got there and their kitchen was getting ready to closed and they got us in quickly to order. They really saved our night. Their food was delicious and like I said they were attentive. Would go here again when we decide to visit NOLA again in the future.

Food was excellent sandwich was very good. Service was good. Wasnt a fan of the flour based Swiss cheese sauce other then that this place rocks! Very cool old style building that looks like it has alot of history. Very cool experience

Frozen Old Fashion is a must no matter what the temperature outside is. It’s just like having regular Old Fashion but in frozen way. Not too sweet and unlike some other place that make frozen drink tasteless but only taste the ice, this drink didn’t do that. Limited menu and operation time at the moment but still enjoyable.

Large beer selection which was great. Mainly a bar, the tables were small for dining. The Croquet was amazing, getvit with bacon!!

Walking into Avenue Pub feels like walking into Paddys Pub from Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia. The bartenders banter, theres always energy, and the ambience is of a divey neighborhood bar that always demands your attention and return. You dont come for the beer, you come for that feel. The patrons and bartenders alike are friendly in the most offbeat ways such that youll get a show even if you dont join in the conversation.The bar has won multiple awards for its community service and recognition for being a top beer bar. It deserves both, just as it deserves your visit.

Beautiful burgers. The food is stellar. If you want the pure, unadulterated taste of burger, get it without the cheese. It is heaven on Earth. You will not deny this. As you bite into the juicy meat, angels will come down, singing, and you will not ask them to stop, because they will not be bothering you. The symphony is in your mouth.

Really enjoyed the charcuterie board and cider, nice environment and staff; one star off because the prices were too high. $8 for cider and $12 for a 6 oz glass of Mead is obviously highly marked up.

Saint Charles bar akin to the Magazine St. Bulldog. Strong selection of draft beer and spirits. Well-placed TVs and lots of seating area inside, some tables out front as well. Bartender was okay. Food was okay and cooked fresh. The braised-pork sandwich was definitely not a knock-out. I will be back to try more of their beers.

Best neighborhood bar in New Orleans. Great beer and bourbon selection, food is also awesome. They also have a really good Kentucky Mule that uses a local companies ginger beer(HuHusand it definitely tastes very ginger-y.

Awesome beer selection! The food menu is very good. I ordered the fried green tomatoes with shrimp remulaude. Great flavor, great price. I was able to try 2 beers Ive been dying to try from a brewery in New York.

Good beers on tap, delicious dry-aged beef on the burgers and phenomenal "Dump Truck" fries with pulled pork, bacon and jalapenos. Friendly staff as well. Only place in town that you can drink Attacus Atlas, AFAIK.

Great variety of beers. Unique selection of food. We loved the balcony seats and painted stairwell. The music made me a bit nostalgic, they were playing Dre and Warren G😂

Finished a walking tour of the Garden District and stopped into the Avenue Pub to have a drink and cool off! They have a large selection of craft beer taps and everything I had was great! Service was fast and efficient, my wifes white wine was served ice cold just like she likes it on a hot day!

This is fast becoming my favorite bar for beer in the city. The selection is amazing, and the staff is knowledgeable (a rarity here in NOLA). The food is good, if a bit light in terms of selection.

Best beer spot in New Orleans. Easy access from the St Charles streetcars. Great taplist, 40 beers and Bottle list, maybe 200 beers. Food was delish. I had the burger and fries and it was fresh juicy and handmade/ local

Great selection of beer, but they lose one star for pouring me the wrong beer twice, on separate occasions. Those dump truck fries are pretty great though, and the plethora of seating, outside and in, adds to any occasion.
