The Art of Snacks in Raton

Ive seen them straightening up the place lately and Im hoping to goodness that they reopen!

Cannot wait until they open again.

The name is super cute... but our hamburger was terrible. We threw it away after a few bites which is rare for us, we do not waste food.Both burgers were burnt and our fries were undercooked and extra greasy..Ill chaulk it up to covid and hard to find quality anywhere.Service was friendly though.

My green chile hamburger and homemade fries were phenomenal. Theyre clearly using high quality ingredients and making most everything on site. This isnt fast food--youll wait a bit, and youll be glad you did.

Wandering the route from Amarillo to Denver, your appetite grows for both physical and mental nourishment. Combining the two, The Art of Snacks provides simple examples of both, with a southwestern flair. Red and Green Chiles are stacked on a hamburger base to create a steppe to rival the local terrain. Inside the small establishment is a collection of art that can memorialize your time in a way that a delicious meal cannot. Both are recommended.

Paid 30 dollars for 6 burritos two of them had chunks of glass in them. You be the judge. Yes I did get my money back I would hope you wouldnt charge for food with chunks of glass not sure what the "disturbance" was I was trying to make when you tried to discuss this with me that you didnt try to have. Luckily I have a peice of the "ALLEGED " glass and pictures of the "Alleged" glass Ill let my attorney and the courts decide if its "Alleged" glass or not. Your so professional Im wait for another great response from you.

Best shaved ice we’ve ever had! Their flavors are incredible!

They make their food in small batches so it tastes SUPER yummy! Best green chile cheese burger in town. No matter what you order, you will NOT be disappointed! Yum, yum, YUM! Thank you for all that yall do for our community!

This is a great restaurant all around. Food was delicious and customer service was top notch. We were driving through the area on a road trip and this was a great place to stop. I called in to place my order and learned they had been feeding their community with free lunches as part of pandemic relief. Definitely glad I picked this place to grab lunch at. I will stop here again.

Had a smothered burger and holy dang was it good! The green chili was delicious. Next time we are in Raton we will be eating here again!

Super yummy food . their walking taco green chili is so good and addictive it should be against the law. Service was excellent. The place has a small town feel thats just sweet to enjoy.

Yum! Yum! Yum! We cant wait for the drive home to stop here again. Super friendly and probably the best burger Ive ever had - green chili cheeseburger. Also liked the Walking taco - sort of like a taco salad meets a Frito pie. Loved that the REAL burger was cooked outside on an open flame. See you in 5 days!

Friendly people, with a great burger. It was snowing and I was driving up to Denver. They were out of tea, and I had horrible cold. After talking they hooked me up with some nice hot lemon water, with a refill for the road. Best random act of kindness this year. I will definitely remind myself to stop by if I pass through again.

A little spot off the beaten path ...looks like a little old cluttered gas station or something...but definitely a diamond in the rough...dont judge the wares by the exterior. I have never had a ciabatta bread (bunso soft before! Thick burger patty..cheese all oozing off, and green chili to compliment the flavor. Fries fresh cut and fried while you wait reminds me of a taste of the past ..before frozen processed bags took over .I would DEFINITELY get cheese fries and add chili or jalapenos..I will have to go back next time Im passing through since I missed my chance this time..its left me craving them! ** top if off with an apple fritter- fresh apple taste is one of the best Ive had. Oh yeah, and friendly staff!

Weve stayed in Raton a dozen times and finally ventured outside of the hotel area -- boy, we were glad we did!! This place was so delicious. The green chile stew (not pictured because we are itis to die for. We recommend the green chile burger and the bacon cheeseburger (pictured). The fries are cut when you order them. They are the real deal. Pastries and desserts are also made in-house by the amazingly sweet owners. ❤️ Well be back!!!

By far.... Hands down...... No doubt the BEST hamburgers around..... Fresh beef, perfect green chili, excellent rolls.... Not to be missed.... Everything is homemade.... Do yourself a favor and eat here.....

We are passing through Raton and needed a snack. Well we found the right place in The Art of Snacks. The staff were friendly and establishment clean. We enjoyed a yummy snow cone. It was just what the dr. ordered.

Great little place. Super friendly staff and owners. I am vegetarian and they offered to make me a salad, which was very thoughtful and delicious. My husband got the roasted turkey and ate every bite. Very glad we popped in for a snack. Thank you!

One of the best mom and pop hamburger places Ive been to. Super friendly service and burgers like mom used to make. Love supporting small business owners who care about their craft. Great stop on our way back to East Texas.

I saw the posted reviews before we saw the place. Not going to lie, even with the good reviews we almost skipped it. Its a tiny little place tucked away between buildings. But some of the best places weve eaten at have been tiny little places, so we ventured for it. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Amazing burgers! My husband had the Turkey and cheddar with green chilis, he said it was really good too! They had a wide variety if sandwiches and hot dogs and they said the chili was really popular, but since we are on the road for a few days, not sure my sensitive stomach was up for that challenge.

Stopped by this little gem on our way to Denver. Wow! The green chile cheeseburger combo was delicious and is worthy of being entered in the NM State Fair Green Chile Cheeseburger competition. We also had red chile cheese fries. One word...Y.U.M.M.O! Were talking home made fries and flavorful Chile with heat that was perfect for me. We will definitely be back. The owners are super friendly and prices are reasonable.

This may be the only place I’ve ever been where I ordered a burger & the guy stepped outside to literally throw it on the grill and grill it to order!! This small shop is a MUST STOP if you go through Raton. They have a wide selection of items that are all made on-site & fresh to order. The fries are thin shoestring, and the cheeseburger was outstanding. We were extremely satisfied & will stop again if our travels take us back through the area.

It is very rare that i find someone who thinks like i do when it comes to food, and The Art of Snacks in Raton New Mexico is one of those places...and what i always say when it comes to food, "a Culinary Experiment is Never a waste, merely a New and Tasty Experience"...and i had a very good time and the food and the people who run The Art of Snacks were completely awesome and very nice and i will be coming back again every chance i get...I very much recommend everyone to come by and check it out, you will not regret stopping by.

I had the smothered cheeseburger with Christmas, no bun; my husband had the collossal beef sandwich which he said definitely lived up to its billing. The owners are the only staff, so there is never a lapse in quality control. Super interesting people as well as being great cooks. This is a place not to miss. You wont be disappointed.

My grandkids dont like a whole lot, but they loved the burgers and fries!! Great service and owners!! We will be back!!

Had the smothered burger and fried, did it Christmas, I liked the green better than the red, BUT both were really good! Huge portions! Charbroiled flavor, not strong, and their burger buns were very good as well. Definitely worth the stop! Oh and the shaved ice was amazing as well!

Great comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere. Homemade soups, sandwiches, frito pies, walking tacos, shaved ice, donuts and much more. I cant narrow down a favorite because everything Amy & Pat make is just pure YUM!!!!

I got the Colossal roast beef, swiss, and green chili sandwich, and it was wonderful. It is like a party in your mouth. We stopped by on our way back from scout camp. The owners are wonderful and fun to chat with. It is close to the highway and a little tricky to find. But, it is totally worth the effort. We will definitely be back! Say hi to Amy and Pat for me if you stop by!

Ordered a sundae, 4 bucks for two scoops but it was delicious and they kindly accommodated me by added both Carmel & Chocolate topping since I couldnt choose. They also had Bingo in the evening which was a +

This place is tough to describe but its not a sandwich shop. We had the frito pie which was 99% frito 1% meat. The flavor was pretty good but predominantly red chili sauce. They seem to be focused on shaved ice which is the only thing the sign out front says so its easy to drive right by the place, in fact thats what Id recommend you do.

They make some great sandwiches, but the deserts are awesome. By far the best cinnamon roll ever. All of their pastries are great. Dont pass up their bread pudding.

Had lunch there recently with my Mom. It was amazing at always. Best Frito pies in town! Got some soup for dinner and it was amazing. The donuts are some of the best Ive ever had.

Great shaved ice. Perfect for a hot day. A great discovery. Although not routinely available, Amy said that if they get fore notice, they can prepare box lunches for scouts heading home from Philmont on the train.

I live out of state. I needed a last minute basket. My daughter found them on Facebook. I text at 9pm the day before Valentines day. I received a text back right away. They said no problem with a delivery tomorrow. The next morning (Valentines dayI called, I believe it was Amy I spoke to. She went above and beyond to take care of my order. I thought I would be charged so much, for one it was last minute and she knew I was in a bind and would have paid what ever they charged me. But no the price was so much less then the big chain delivery companies. I wish I lived closer and not 4 hours away so I could personally thank them. I highly recommend them for any of your gift needs. Wish they had 10 stars and not 5 because you definitely are a 10 star company . Thank you again
