Farm-to-table Californian fare & craft cocktails in a relaxed, fashionable space with a woodsy feel.
Ive been up the Arbour on four different occasions. Each time Ive tried something different and it was delicious. The food is high quality and the preparation comes with amazing detail.I strongly recommend the tagliatelle pasta appetizer and the rib eye is amazing. Enough food for two with left overs.
Had a lovely dinner last night. The food is all fresh and very tasty. A beautiful selection from seafood salad to a beautiful duet of duck. The food is presented elegantly and the flavors are amazing and not over whelming. The wine and beverage selection is top notch and the ambience is like having dinner in your own personal abode with attentive service and peaceful surroundings.
Really great entrees. Good host team and service. The raved about mushroom soup? Meh. Dessert menu was not super imaginative but well-executed. Ambiance was not my cup of tea. Did I mention the great entrees?
The Arbour is a good spot for a business dinner. Went on a Wednesday night and it was very quiet, which was a bit unfortunate as it’s such a large space. Great for talking but not the most exciting atmosphere. Food was good, garlic fries were a win, good fish. Overall a nice experience, a little expensive, quiet but friendly.
I made a reservation for 2 using the Open Table through Yelp. I showed up 5 days later and everything was great & I just had to give my name (not even show the reservation on my phoneand they seated us.There is parking behind the restaurant but my husband and I walked. The seating inside is best! Very nice setting and clean. The bathrooms are clean (there are 2 individual ones. A bit dim in there but you can get by).I ordered the watermelon drop drink and it was so good (love the watermelon cube and asked for a spoon after to eat it)!I highly recommend the appetizer tagliatelle pasta with minced beef and green onion! It was flavored sooo well (has some spice but durable)!!They also have the potato croquette covered in bacon and cheese (sooo good)!! It was fluffy and crispy at the same time. Such an interesting and delicious texture!!!The entree was New York Striploin (soo good and comes with broccolini, garlic mashed potatoes, and my favorite grilled garlic cloves!!We were too full for dessert but it sounds amazing. We will definitely come back! The servers were all really nice, checked up on us a lot, filled the water, and one even told us how she likes to dip the bread in the leftover sauce :0it was a good idea!!
This restaurant is amazing. From the service right down to dessert! I had the duo duck as an entree and the vanilla panna cotta for dessert and they were delicious. Best restaurant I’ve been to in Cali.
So far, this is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. The black pepper chicken breast was out of this world good! Don’t even get me started on the dessert. The vanilla Pana cotta…it was so so good. If you’re ever in the area, please stop by.
One of the best and most creative restaurants in Pasadena. Really should come more. This is not a go every day kind of spot.
I wanted to provide my experience I had during tonights dinner. First off, this was my first time at this restaurant and I was very happy with the way it turned out. The food was delicious, the front house staff was accommodating (shoutout to Judy our waitress), and the interior design of the restaurant was excellent. I had the opportunity to try the bucatini spaghetti and pacific oysters and was blown away by the creative tastes Chef Gresik has created. The only negative experience I had this evening was the event at around 8PM when smoke started entering the main area and a few minutes later the fire alarms were set off. This prompted my wife and myself to gather our belongings quickly, pay for our interrupted dinner, and to exit the restaurant as the loud repetitive sounds of the fire alarms was very disturbing and the smoke filling the main area created more safety hazards for our personnel. The staff was not communicating with us on any action steps on the situation and we had to take that upon ourselves to rectify our safety.Again, the entire dining experience was excellent up until that moment and we are very disappointed in the way the management and rest of staff handled the situation. Some feedback I would like to point out is just to communicate with your customers to allow informed decisions on your patrons. We understand random events occur, but being left in the dark is very unwelcoming and doesnt provide a sense of urgency for customer safety.Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback and hope management can educate and learn from this event moving forward with the rest of the staff.
Fantastic place for lunch or dinner. Came with family and had the sea bass and oysters. Both were delicious and very fresh.
Great food, great service, highly recommended. The yellowfin was unbelievable, as was the tomato soup appetizer. 5 stars all the way!!!!!
I was invited to have dinner in this place. And … food is super good. Our host decided to order many menu and item and we share the foods so we can have an idea of the food taste. Which turn out to be a great idea for me since i would post more photos of food and I can give better reviews.I tried the Spaghetti first and it was one of the best I have tasted. Then I tried the Risotto and I was also very good. I noticed my friend put the remaining portion when he refills which confirms that it is really good.Duo of Duck is good. A little under cook for my preference. For reference i am medium well when i order steak. The seared yellowfin tuna is very good for those who prefer fishFor Appetizer try the Spicy Beef Chili, it is very good.Overall, this is one of the best restaurant i have tried having dinner.
The concept of the restaurant is fantastic. The name comes from Latin root meaning of a tree. So the restaurant describes itself like this: Farm-to-table Californian fare & craft cocktails in a relaxed, fashionable space with a woodsy feel. I loved the ambiance and felt very welcome and comfortable dining in this place. We are back gain to dine here after 4 years. I was so looking forward to the delicious bread but our waiter didn’t offer it to us. So I have to give it a 4 star rating. The foods were excellent though just like I remembered them from my first time dining in this restaurant. All of us loved the foods we ordered. Every dish was presented well and the tasty were so delicious.Because the restaurant emphasizes farm to table freshness, the food we had were so fresh. My Mediterranean Sea bass was very well seared and seasoned. The skin was crispy and the meat was tender. The vegetables on the side complimented the fish well. The shrimp penne was scrumptious too. Although the shrimps were a bit over cooked, the penne was cooked to Al dente. The creamy sauce was very flavorful. The ambiance was rustic but warm and modern. We lost track of the time in enjoying the drinks and the conversations. We ended up having a 3 hour dinner.Free parking is in the back of the restaurant on Hudson street.
We loved this place. The hospitality was great. Some dishes were great others were ok. Enjoyed being in this space. Waiters were top notch. One in particular, I think its Judy, very special.
It was good, everything. The pasta, the cesar and what surprised me the most - the strudel.
This is the place to go for excellent dining experience. It’s my fourth time here and I still find the food and service amazing . The tagliatelle with sausage ragu, duo of duck and Mediterranean sea bass are family favorites. The striploin is rich and satisfying. We finished the meal with the blackberries with curd and almond brittle and dark chocolate mousse with raspberries. The ambiance and good service just added to my overall satisfaction.
This place was decent until the waiter did not even ask to split the check. Made us to all the work and writw it down to help him figure out what we ordered. Food was okay but definitely would take my business somewhere else and would not recommend this place.
One of the best meals we have had in a long time. I highly recommend this great restaurant in Pasadena. Thanks for dinner Don and Cynthia Evenson.
The ribeye for two was really good. Great meat quality and taste. Its definitely big enough for even 3-4 ppl. The slices duck on Duo of duck dish was tender and juice. Duck leg was a little dry but still great taste.Fish dishes were all perfect. I dont usually eat fish in a restaurant, but the fish here was real fresh.
Great service, great ambiance, and good food.Small menu but they make everything well.
They are really starting to get their pre-pandemic groove back! Lots more menu options (including, for spring, their stellar white asparagus soup with basil oil), lots more seating, and more creativity on display again, such as lemon foam topping veggies and duck cooked two ways. The service was the low point, with the waiter acting like he was trying to rush us out the door the whole time. (But as my companions pointed out, thats usually better than when the staff forces fake friendliness on you.Keep up the good work, Arbour, were rooting for you!Update 11/3/21: This place is a go-to, and Ive written about it many times, so all I want to add this time is that when we requested a wine that was no longer on their list, but that we had enjoyed many times before, they looked for it, found it and brought it out for us at the same, reasonable price its always been. Great service, oh, and a shout out to their always fantastic seasonal soups, which I never skip--this time, wild mushroom--yum!
Everything was great, quiet atmosphere, wonderful food, and a capable server. The gentleman serving recommended the duck. I wasn’t sure but took his suggestion and totally loved the meal. Everything was cooked perfectly. I didn’t know I liked duck or baby turnips but I do now!!!
(Grade AGreat food, great ambience, reasonable prices. The chilli is my favorite, it comes with a Beef Fat candle, that melts as it illuminates and then you mix it and enjoy. All other foods are great also, great attention to detail.
Beautiful restaurant with wood accents throughout. Food was delicious and server was very attentive. Their warm bread and seasoned butter was a great start! The food came out at just the right time and drinks were replenished often. A great neighborhood spot!
Every meal at our table was fabulous! I had the sea bass, and tried the tuna-- both were fantastic. Perfectly flavored and expertly prepared. The 3 people who ordered pasta dishes loved them. The salads were fresh and delicious. Service was impeccable. Our waiter went out of his way to make everything perfect-- ensuring my drink was dry enough, respecting our conversations (well trained!! Unlike some local restaurants where the server interrupts repeatedly-- poorly trained! It was the best meal Ive had at a restaurant in years! Kudos the the owners, managers, servers, cooks, bar tender! You made our evening special. Thank you!!
This place had a very snobby vibe before the pandemic, but we went about a month ago and everything was really great. Our server (Jake?was just incredible. He gave us suggestions, made us laugh, and took care of an embarrassing gift card snafu with grace and humor. And the food of course, amazing. We’ll be back!
I was super surprised by this place. I dont typically find a good gem like this when its in a downtown spot. But I really really liked this place. Food, service, ambiance, everything. The server and hostess were absolutely incredible! The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect. I really dont have a complaint here. I didnt get a chance to try a dessert, but Im sure those would have impressed just as well as everything else. And they "squeezed" us in even though they were booked up. All in all, will return!
We really like the dining experience at the Arbour. Its dressy casual - great for a family dinner but also for a date night. The entrees were quite large so we actually shared three appetizers and split a main (which was still too much food). The brussel sprout salad with the goat cheese accent was FANTASTIC - highly recommended. The tagliatelle was also quite good, although I found it more salty than I like. For the main, we shared the seared yellowfin tuna. The portion was very generous, and the flavour blended well with each other. My only feedback is to not make the risotto as a fried cake but just a soft underside to complement the tuna - its too oily and sharp of a taste in contrast. Our wait staff was very friendly and had good suggestions. She came by the table not too much and made the evening a lovely one. Will return!
The food was absolutely delicious, but the service was outstanding. Every employee went above and beyond to make our dinner relaxing and perfect. Great service has been a rarity in most of our recent restaurant experiences, so our anniversary dinner at The Arbour was a refreshing surprise.
Decent enough fare and atmosphere, but its a little bit like its stuck in the 90s or early 2000s (like a lot of Pasadena). Mostly older white folks eating here. If thats your taste then go! Good service though.
Everything was delicious with the seabass being the stand out dish.
Wow!! What a wonderful restaurant experience!! Great, safe and socially distanced indoor dining. Exquisite menu with several delicious appetizers and entrées. The staff was friendly and customer focused. I had the Bucatini Spaghetti (see photoand is was delicious!! Please try The Arbour and you will not be disappointed.
In COVID-19 age, surprisingly to find a indoor seated restaurant here. The menu was short, but excellent. We ordered steak, burger, spaghetti, salad....Echo one of the was simple. No fancy decoration, perfectly prepared.
Great service and super delicious food. Our favorites were the golden beet salad and the black pepper crusted chicken (trust me, its amazing). The Mezcal Margarita was off the hook! Hope to come back soon.
First time dinning there and the food was great and the service was excellent.
Great and swift service, delicious food, our server Javier was funny, helpful, and professional. We celebrated our one year anniversary. Had the Peruvian Romance, the Cabernet Sauvignon Freemark Abbey, and rib eye for two all outstanding!
With all the ease, elegance and substance that made Lake Street the most famous for luxury through the century, The Arbour satisfies on both a gourmet food and hospitality level.... no matter how cold or hot the weather outside, this remains a happy oasis.
Amazing Happy hour! We also had dessert. Baked california. Super good!
Of all the places my girlfriend and I have been in the last year of dates, The Arbour has been our favorite for its ambience, amazing staff, terrific cuisine (everything was so creative and delicious), and how they’ve put it all together.I’d definitely visit again and this is probably bound to be one of our forever date spots. Very pricey but worth every bit for the memories!
My wife chose this place on a Friday evening. GREAT CHOICE. The place is a well oiled machine. Everyone is very kind and friendly. After a reasonable wait at the bar, we were seated and the service was excellent from Laura.Let me just say, if youre looking for phenomenal food, this is absolutely the place. We had the roasted duck, it was tender and tasted delicious. We would definitely return for more amazing memories with friends.Great job staff for a well organized process and a great experience.
Oysters were fresh and delicious tasting. The bass was delectable! Finished with a flaming dessert that did not disappoint for a birthday lunch!🎂
What a great find! The atmosphere is amazing: upscale yet relaxing. The food was delicious! And the happy hour prices were surprisingly cheap. $5 draft beer and a $7 burger. Will definitely be back!
Atmosphere and the service were the two biggest standouts to me. Took my wife here on our date night and had an absolute blast!
What an incredible anniversary dinner we had last night. From the second we walked in, the decor is stunning and the host was so nice. Our server was a PRO. He was so skilled at his job and really gave some great pointers on what to order, we were very impressed. The food. My goodness, this was good food. Everything was fresh, delicious.. and that CHILI!!! Just wow. Our drinks were fantastic as well. We truly had one of our best nights together- cant ask for more on an anniversary. I highly highly recommend!!!
Came here for a date night dinner with the hubby last night. The decor was beautiful and most of the food was yummyWe had 3 appetizers, split an entree and dessert.App 1: Bison Tartar - great presentation of the chili sauce. Husband loved it.App 2: Golden beets and baby kale salad - nice and refreshing. They split the portion for us.App 3: Orecchiette pasta - very bland and mushy! First time I’ve ever asked for salt and pepper at a nice restraint.Entree: Sea bass - also served in split plate which was nice. The fish was cooked with skin on, which had a nice crispy finish. The crispy polenta was really good, it was wrapped with phyllo and fried.Dessert: Baked California - the flambé dessert was definitely a sight! Taste-wise it was very sweet. The almond “ice cream” was more like cream than ice cream. There were definitely a few hits and misses, but overall we had an enjoyable meal.
Had a great Thanksgiving Dinner there. Service is so good. The Bartender she was amazing.
A great addition to Pasadena. Beautiful interior and friendly services to start. We order bison tartare, pasta, rack of lamb and steak, all come out perfectly prepared and cooked. Delicious food with super lay back pasadenian vibe. Definitely recommend for other to try out this place .
Really good food and drinks, even the happy hour food was delicious. Only minus is the bar isnt really setup for large groups so happy hour with coworkers gets tricky. Our favorite dish from the regular menu was the Chilli! Omg! Fat candle in the middle, yes please! The duck for two was very juicy and tender. So, was were the pork chops.
My wife and I celebrated our 1st year anniversary dinner here. We made sure to take advantage of the nice happy hour as well. We loved every facet of this restaurant -- the food (the obvious), the service, the decor, the lighting, etc. One caveat -- we shared 3 drinks + bottle of wine, so our mood/judgment may have been a little lightened. :Whatever the case, we are recommending this restaurant to anyone and everyone.
Cant go wrong here. Been here multiple times and everytime has been delicious. Worth the visit if your in the area and looking for a great sit down meal.
