The Antico Ristoro di Cambi - Restaurant in Florence, Italy
Food was good, had appetizer of a variety of cheeses with jam, meat filled zucchini flowers and tiramisu. Chairs were VERY uncomfortable, guess they want you to hurry and eat and leave.
The best steak Ive had in Italy. Decided to have the sirloin because the steak Florentine was so huge. It was cooked perfectly and flavor was excellent. The price was also reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.
I was very excited about visiting this restaurant as my cab driver said it was her favorite in the city. I was not impressed at all. Overall, I tried the meatballs, steak, beef stew, mixed aperitivo, tomato soup, and creme brûlé and everything was lacking in flavor. The best among all the dishes was the tomato soup, but all of the dishes were pretty bland and just plain boring. I would not visit again and it was my least favorite eating experience throughout my entire 12-day visit to Rome and Florence - that includes my flight. No joke, my friends and I agreed that our beef stew on the plane was better than what we had here. I see the place has good reviews and my cab driver revered it, so I honestly don’t know what me and my friends are missing here, but I can only speak to my personal experience. I did not care for it one bit.
A very middle of the road experience. Nothing was overly wonderful, nothing was terrible. We had the pork loin chop, the lemon chicken, the steak with balsamic, and various wines for dinner. For dessert we had the tiramisu and the hazelnut semifreddo. Very standard experience.
Beef tenderloin steak was good and tender. The tomato bread soup was filling and tasty. The cheese and ham was delicious with a good variety of cheeses.
Great food and wine, highly recommended.
Absolutely butter… quality of the meat was expectacular! Price according to the quality, original Italian Restaurant to try the authentic Fiorentina Steak
Bad, very bad! VERY BAD!They might make good beef, so I heard, but we ordered pasta - which was dry, cold , no sauce and oil. Shame on them, being italians and making such a bad pasta. They managed to ruin my first dinner experience in Florence! I would give 0 stars for the pasta ! I should have listen to other bad reviews i read before I came here. My mistake...Definitely not coming back and I highly recommend to everybody to look for another place.Beside this, seats are really uncomfortable, you cant stay on those - they call them "traditional seats". Everything is rushed, they seem to not have time even to answer to whatever question you might have regarding the menu.👎👎👎
Recommended by a friend for its meat and we werent disappointed. Polite staff, quick service and tasty food. I almost wish I could drink wine because the pairing with the meat should make things even better.
Delicious as remembered! We had Trippe alla Fiorentina, Bistecca alla Fiorentina (800g!and Pasta with aubergine. Very friendly, but professional staff. If you have a chance to sit inside, take it. Super cozy environment. Best to make a reservation. Will be back again!
Fantastic restaurant. We are here three times within a week. Just eat here. The staff are friendly and fabulous. The fried zucchini flowers for dinner are something special. Steak is wonderful and don’t sent it back to the kitchen. Tuscans sear it so it remains near rare in the middle. Entirely delicious.House Chianti is ridiculously good and the deserts are simple and enjoyable. Salami, antipasti, pasta, secondi piatti including the beef and pork are delicious. You can’t go wrong. We’ll be back when next in Florence.
Delicious pasta, nice menu and terrace. Setting not so amazing.
Features delicious Tuscan beef items, with some other choices. A popular place, so can be quite lively instead of dark/intimate. Note that the toilets are down a long set of stairs.
Pleasant environment, kind service and delicious dishes ✌🏻
Really really good, the classic florentine steak amazing, service is great, atmosphere really nice, I would highly recommend the fried courgette flowers that was a true winner
Enjoyed our first meal while in Florence here, during a national holiday w/everything closed and a thunderstorm overhead. Had a variety of Tuscan appetizers and I the pasta w/wild boar sauce. The staff accommodated our large party despite us having no reservation.
A delicious meal with Florentino steak! Yes we ate it all and had room for dessert. A Rick Steve’s recommendation that had lots of locals in attendance as well. Reservations are helpful but we were there early and didn’t have them.
Best fiorentina weve had in Florence. The lardo was absolutely fab!
Ordered all of our Florentine wants- lamprodetto, florentine streak, squash flowers, osso buco, .... Yummmm did not disappoint
I ordered a florentine steak.A very delicious piece of meatVery good meat quality as well as excellent staffBut unfortunately it wasn’t good well, I received it with medium/rare but with a quite sizeable pieace cooked blueAnd that disappointed me for a while because the meat was really delicious and with paying such amount of, I expect to have a perfect dish not almost perfect
Disappointing experience: The veal fillet (25€was unevenly grilled with some slices overly cooked and some raw, not rare (impossible to chew), my request: medium well. The fried zucchini flowers were super oily and at least one of them was on the "browner" side. The service left room for improvement as well.
Went here to try a steak fiorentine, while spending the weekend in Florence. The steak was tasty, but half of it was just fat. I understand that there will be fat on the steak, but when half of the non-bone part of the steak is fat, there isnt much meat left to eat!!!! In spite of that, the meat was really good!
Melt in your mouth steak plus nice fried chicken and fried zucchini flowers. Definitely worth a visit. I suggest reservations which can be done from your phone directly on their website.
Divine steaks. If you come here and dont order the steaks you will regret it for life. Lightly smoky, rich, tender with amazing crispy fat, they were executed perfectly. So good that you dont need fancy side dishes to accompany them. The hazelnut semifreddos is also worth trying (very rich and aromatic).
Generally it was ok, but i wouldnt visit that place again due to the fact that the dishes, wine and desserts were not outstanding. 4/5
Steak was amazing! You need to book in advance, we Went there for lunch, staff was friendly, place was loud because so busy. Food was great overall but the Best was the Steak, really worth the price.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food at this restaurant, to say it is exquisite is an understatement. Service was fast and efficient. The outdoor seating was lovely and the ambiance was amazing. I highly recommend it.
They have really great steak and wine. Italian food.
very good local resto.the pici with cinta senese ragu were excellent.the beef spezzatino good too but shud have maybe gone for the Fiorentina steak..next timekind serviceok prices
Delectable Tuscan food! Very warm staff and service.
Had an amazing Florentine steak! Truly exceptional!
Incredible food! I would highly recommend taking your waiter or waitresss recommendation on side dishes. We ended up with delicious fried artichokes that we wouldnt have tried otherwise. The papa al pomodoro and Florentine steak were out of this world! Be prepared for the steak to be cooked rare.
Excellent bistecca fiorentina! Its the biggest piece of meat I had in my life and it was super tasty. Service was very friendly, highly recommended.
I think this is real local restaurant.i couldnt see tourist hereit was good food, also they show uswhich meat grillso u can see how much it is good meat.TipU NEED RESERVARION HEREespecially a lot of people at weekend
Faultless steak, amazingly cooked and flavoured. Great sides. Friendly service. Good prices.Rarely (pun intendeddo you have meals like this. Unforgettable.Read more: bittermansguide.com
Beautiful steak restaurant. Tons of options and everything is great! Theres a theme across my dinner reviews from this trip - get the house wine! Great everywhere you go, including here.
Really good Tuscan cuisine, the traditional one. Forget about tourists stuff, this is where local people eat. Prices are not low especially if you take the meat per kilo, but is really good. Staff is lovely and very accommodating
It was very tasty! In general, this area is not so touristy, and there were not so many tourists in the restaurant. The food was very good and the staff was very helpful. Recommendable! But be sure to make a reservation.
Ossobuco Is always top as well as Fried Courgettes Flowers but this time I picked a Tagliata and as you can see from the picture was disappointed for the size over the price they charge.Overall the vine is too touristic I prefer other places more real to have this kind of food but for an Ossobuco yes I will always come and suggest this place !
Great price for great food. The location looks ok from outside (this is why I don’t give five starsbut inside is lovely. Away from the masses but still close to the city center. We had Bisteka alla Fiorentina and ravioli with beef sauce. The staff’s English is not great but we understood each other and they very nice.
A trencherman’s delight. The sheer extravagance of slabs of perfectly cooked Florentine steak is worth the trip alone. Shared a 1.3 kg steak and that was enough to feed 3. Don’t forget the pasta with zucchini, if it’s in season. The grilled mushrooms are a great contorno as well.
Very inviting, welcoming atmosphere inside and outside on their terrace. Just a really nice location, quiet corner. Lovely server, very friendly. No straying from the traditional Tuscan/Italian menu, so eating here you’re in for a tasty, authentic meal. Great wine list, although the house wine does the job too. Cheesecake is excellent!
Came here after a recommendation of a friend of mine - don’t know if this is a secret spot but nevertheless it is some real good place to enjoy your bistecca alla fiorentina.Pay attention to the amount you’re choosing for dinner - it tends to be more than you’ll be able to eat :DThe meat was (by the way100% perfect and on point as requested.
This was a very nice experience with Italien flair. The Bistecca fiorentina was very good. When I’m next time in Florence I will definitely go there again. If you go to Florence you ain’t want to go to steak house and this isn’t one. It’s a lovely Italian trattoria where you get bistecca florentina with good sides and good wine. Definitely 5 stars from me!
We had dinner here.We ordered starter(tomatoes and mozzarellaand two mains(chops and grilled tenderloin with herbswith two sides (grilled potatoes and spinach). The taste was scrumptiousPrice was reasonable.Highly recommended, be sure to make reservation for dinner. They tend to have alot of customers.Thank you, I enjoyed it alot.IG: _bluebulb
My family visited the restaurant for early dinner and was really delighted by the wide variety of wine selection by glass to go with the food.Even my child who is not a big fan of meat thoroughly enjoyed the steak! We had spinach with garlic as sides and it went well to remove some greasiness from the meat.Highly recommended!
Excellent fiorentine steak and burrata pasta. Zucchini flowers stuffed with meat were great. Nice wine list too. Server probably should have told us that we ordered too much food!
Pleasant as always. We ordered the stuff zucchini flowers and tomato based penne, caprese salad and they are delicious. This is the place to try bisteca ala Florentina. We always dine at this place every time we are in Florence. I would recommend to make a reservation for dinner or come early for lunch. Great wine selection and good service.
An absolutely incredible and authentic dining experience. This was the best Bistecca alla Fiorentina we had in Florence. Its a busy place, charming and with lots of history. We recommend booking ahead, depending on the time of year. Our waiter was very informative, especially when he brought out the steaks for us to choose. They were cooked perfectly! We were able to order some off-menu appetizers, and the desserts were fantastic. We are already looking forward to coming back here on our next trip to Florence.
If you visit Florence, be sure to see David and eat here. It was our favorite meal from our 2 weeks in Italy! This restaurant was recommended by friends who also loved it, and specializes in Steak Florentine. It was a spectacular meal, the staff was great and the price was reasonable.5 stars, would give them 6 if possible.
