Not a big Warhol fan, but when in Pittsburgh you need to see this museum. So cool to see how much of an impact he had on modern art. Seeing the originals and walking through his life chronologically was neat. Kind of overcrowded on a Saturday but still enjoyable.

This was a very fun and informative experience! No backpacks allowed but they have lockers you can use. Make sure to check out the basement when you’re done, to create your own Warhol inspired art.

It’s an excellent museum consisting of 7 exhibition floors. If you have time I’d split the visit into several takes, for instance, one day to enjoy the permanent expositon and 2nd for the exhibition on 2nd floor and a film screening. The museum is accessible for people with different abilities and dissabilities:- the museum is wheelchair accessible;- assistive listening system devices available at the admission desk;- the museum has its own inclusive audio guide app Out Loud, available for download on iOS devices.- there a few tactile art reproductions - touchable 3d objects of signature Warhol’s works.- service animals are allowed

it is the largest collection of work by Andy Warhol (the largest single-artist museum in the countrythe citys most famous artist and American pop-art pioneer. it is near PNC Park. Opened in 1994, the museum is housed in a restored warehouse and displays many of Warhols drawings, paintings, prints, and multimedia installations, as well as presents several of his films and video clips through 4 floors.Housed in a refurbished warehouse. The Warhol is one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh.Snap a Pic on the Red Couch: iconic pose - recreated by Jay-z and Big Bird.Fee: $20/adult. We used our BOA card (museums are fee on a Bank of America card, the first weekend every month), but do reserve a timed ticket online in advance of your visit.Parking: its near to the museum building. we reached 10 AM and it was $8 but when we were leaving by 12, they changed the sign to $15 (i took a picture).

Decent collection of Warhols work, encompassing seven floors. A bit thin is some areas; nevertheless they contain a treasure trove of his videos. Overall, worth a couple of hours if you enjoy this avant-garde artist.

With a free day in Pittsburgh I decided to check out this museum, with little knowledge of Warhol himself besides knowing he painted "the soup cans." I had a blast, the museum is nicely laid out in chronological order, you start at the top and work your way down, ending at the gift shop. Plenty of text displays guide you through his life and the many different ways he created art, while staying very interesting throughout. Would definitely visit again and is definitely worth the admission!

Great way to learn a ton about an iconic Pittsburgh art legend in just a few hours. Really well organized and curated museum. A little disappointed that some significant pieces were off display due to some changes under way and the entire 2nd floor was closed. But even with those issues it was a great visit.

First time visiting this museum and it was more than what I thought it was. At the time of my visit one floor was completely blocked off and on another floor one whole room was blocked, so that was a bummer as I would have loved to see more of his work. Outside of that it was very informational and the staff working were lovely. Would recommend you check this out.

The museum does a great job of laying out the fact that Andy Warhol was not only an artist but an entrepreneur. He was a man who embraced that all forms of art and communication from the way you dress, to the clothes you wear, can create a brand. That brand creates value and people want to be close to something creative. The story I found most intriguing was how he managed to negotiate a spot on the love boat episode as part of payment for a portrait.

I loved this museum!! I especially loved that it went in chronological order from the top down. There also was a special exhibit at the end that fit the theme but was not any Warhol work. It was also very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

This was the best museum I’ve ever been to and the strength lies in the fact that it is dedicated to a singular artist. If you start at the top floor (which the employees recommendthe entire museum tells a complete and captivating story of Andy Warhol. Not only do visitors gain an appreciation and understanding for who Warhol was based on his art, the supplemental material on his life and inspirations lend an insight as well. Absolutely fantastic.

This multi-level museum explores the life and times of Andy Warhol in detail, featuring a wide range of his work, including his whimsical early doodles and "Mad Men" era advertising. For fans of anyone into pop/early contemporary art or just recognizable pop art in general!

Spent a couple hours walking around here. Very cool overall. I was already pretty familiar with Warhol, but it was nice to learn about his connection to Pittsburgh. This museum is definitely PG-13 but wasnt too deviant for most people. I would recommend anyone that enjoys pop art to check it out

Amazing museum. Definitely worth a visit. Exhibits walk through Worhols life as an artist, which starts on the 7th floor. 2nd floor looked as though it was an exhibit dedicated to other artists and had some great works of art.

I loved this museum and here’s why.- It’s chronological, starting from the beginning of his life on floor 7 to a contemporary artist inspired by his art on floor 2. Because of this, you can see how his art developed in relation to what was going on in his life.- It’s interactive. There are parts of the museum that allow you to interact with the environment.- It’s arguably the best cultural institution in Pittsburgh.I had a lovely time there and spent a good 2-3 hours in total. I highly recommend going and spending a morning or afternoon with Warhol’s life.

Trying to capture Andy Warhols life in basically 5 small floors was a herculean but the curators have done a spectacular job. Most of Warhols most famous work are at MoMA and modern art museums around the world as well as countless private collections but this still a good cross section of his work.

We visited the museum during our trip to Pittsburgh. While the museum was well maintained, almost all good famous works were not at the property. So it was most of his early work or photographs from articles, but the works which made him famous after not there, which was disappointing

Im not an artist but went to try to learn about Warhol and his art. Its a beautiful spacious museum and the docents were fine. There were interesting details about his childhood in Pittsburgh. But overall I couldnt absorb the significance of most of his art. (Note the fuzzy stuffed animals were by a guest artist.)

The life of Andy Warhol is displayed all here ! From his early life as a student.. the story starts. The museum show case Andy Warhol life as he grows up. His family, his class mates and all. Theres even a class photo ! He looked so different then!It then went on to describe his grow in as an artist. From what he started to draw to his works in photography and works in print. His technique of silk screen printing was documented. We can even try in in the museum. For paper prints it is free. This is a must to go if you love art.The only drawback are his more famous works of Marilyn manore and Campbell soup and self portrait are not found here. But in other museum..It is a very well worth visit to this place.

Lovely museum housing a huge collection of Mr. Warhols work. Its not just art pieces but also films, since he dabbled in filmmaking at some point in his career. Just be aware that some of his most iconic pieces (such as the Campbell soup cans and Marilyn Monroes imageare not in this museum. The soup cans, for example, are at the MOMA in New York. Still, its a great place to get acquainted with the artist and his lesser-known work.We spent two hours here. They recommend booking tickets in advance, although they wont turn you away if you show up without tickets.

This is an incredible museum that I will revisit whenever in Pittsburgh. Amazing history and art, that while the story is sad, the colors are inspiring and vibrant. Its hard not to feel good in this museum. Some interactive exhibits, such as the balloons and the video print. Worth a visit, and I would take 1.5 - 2 hours to go through for the full experience.

For outsiders, it’s one of the must-visit places that you need to to go in Pittsburgh. It’s a multimedia source of stories and facts about Andy Warhol and collaborators spread out in six stories. 20 dollars for entrance seems a bit pricey, but it’s totally worth it. Add here another 8 dollars for parking across the street if you’re driving. There aren’t many street parking zones nearby.

The AWM is a nostalgic and psychedelic museum. It’s a time capsule enlarged to inform others some glimpses of what was in the mind of Andy Warhol. One of America’s 20th century eccentric artist and pioneers, Andy Warhol’s works and memories have been captured in this amazing structure. You are able to hear and see this artist perform when he was at his prime. He kept reaching for the stars and definitely surpassed his 15 seconds of fame. Nice spacious elevator for all. Parking garage near by.

Went here with my girlfriend for her birthday. While she had been here before, it was my first time. Learned a lot about Warhol and had fun viewing his artwork. According to my girlfriend though there was not as much of his artwork on display as before. Parking was located across the street and the gift shop has lots of things for Warhol fans.

If you love the works of Andy Warhol, this is a must. Five floors of the iconic artists work are on display. $20 non-member fee is pretty standard. The flow of the displays is a nice chronology of his work and I was very impressed with how much the museum had to offer.

Wow what a great museum to spend time at while in Pittsburgh. We really enjoyed the many floors and exhibits they had to offer us. We spent a few hours there and we could have spent a bit more time but half a day should be plenty to see everything and take your time to see and read all about Andy. I would highly recommend this stop even if you are not a big Warhol fan but appreciate American art, you can learn so much about him.

Very interesting museum! Kind of a self-guided tour from top to bottom through the life of Warhol. For $20 a ticket I wouldve maybe liked a bit more, but he is a pretty famous artist so I guess it justifies the price. I went while visiting from out of town and had a good time.

We had a really wonderful time. The flow of the museum is really well done and there is a lot to do, so they really do a good job of making an immersive experience. I didnt realize that Warhol was a collector or that he created time capsules - that section of the museum could have been an entire day.We spent a good 3 and a half hours at the museum, and probably could have done another 1-2 hours to do absolutely everything. Well done and great staff! Highly recommend!

It was much more than expected but some of the staff were annoying. Enjoyed also experiencing other artist work (Basquiat and Haring), along with Warhol and his many muses. Plan on spending at least 2hrs to peacefully experience the exhibit. If you do not get to the museum before 3, staff will remind you at least 7x that the museum closes at 5!

This is my favorite art museum, period. It blends his life, art, and popular culture in a beautiful and expressive way. The curators do a great job of presenting his early life and work, which brilliantly set you up to view his progression through the 70s and 80s. They also do a fantastic job of highlighting many of his collaborators and influences, which are key to Warhols story.I give this an unreserved recommendation and suggest you block a solid 3 hours to appreciate this exhibit.

Comprehensive and thought provoking. Warhol Museum made me think about what it must have been Iike to be an artist in Andy’s time. He was cutting edge in so many ways. He reinvented his art and was ahead of trends and technology. My favorite was the Elvis canvas. A Great museum!
