The Alpaca Loom Coffee Shop and Weaving Studio - Tourist attraction in Noorder-Paarl, South Africa
We had a blast here! Beautiful scenery and the staff is super friendly. This is a great place for families!
You can pet and feed the llamas, alpacas and goats. They also have camels, ducks, horses and chickens. Entrance is very cheap and I recommend buying feed as well. They offer tours and alpaca walkies (yes you can walk the alpaca on a leash). They sell alpaca wool scarves, ponchos, blankets etc, but be warned - its hand made and very expensive. The wool is very soft. There is a coffee shop for parents and a jungle gym outside with the alpacas for the kids to burn of excess energy. The staff has a great friendly vibe
Very basic coffee shop, but the cute alpacas completely make up for it. If you need some endorphins or go get the kids out of the house I highly recommend!
Wow what a beautiful place love the llama and alpaca s . What a site to behold to see these animals around walking and feeding them . Kids simply loved it .❤
What a wonderful experience, the kids enjoyed the outing and the coffee shop has a good selection at very reasonable prices.
Loved the Alpaca loom! We had an interesting tour and interacted with the Animals and got to see them posing on a hill against the setting sun as we left which was gorgeous and so fun!
Loved the visit, and they have a lovely coffee shop. It was so incredible to feed the friendly alpacas ♡
Always a delight to come here and see the alpacas. Great coffee too with some lovely alpaca themed products and alpaca wool.
Nice and tranquil and the alpacas are very friendly and fluffy. Little coffee shop served nice cappuccinos and scrumptious cakes.
Lovely family fun! Highly recommended not to wear white of precious shoes. Its a proper farm experience
This is a typical country coffee shop located next to the Alpaca paddocks. There is a play area for children nearby which is visible from the coffee shop so parents can keep an eye on the kids while enjoying a coffee and muffin. The staff are cordial but not that friendly. The food options are limited so dont expect to buy breakfast or lunch here. You can buy feed which you can feed to the Alpacas and sheep. There are products available for purchase if you want to buy. All made from wool harvested from the farm Alpacas.
What an amazing experience!!! I will definitely go back!!! Super friendly service!!! The tour was very informative and the guide is really friendly and funny!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!!
Absolutely amazing. The staff there is extremely friendly. You are allowed to bring in games and the alpacas are incredibly adorable. I would honestly reccommend this place for anyone looking to destress and get into nature more. The drive there is just as lovely.
Lovely place. Went on the barn tour and taken around to meet the young Alpacas. Lovely jungle gym and playground area. Great food and awesome petting zoo where you can interact with the Alpacas, goats, geese and chickens.
Very cute animals. Ruan gave us a lovely tour and took some great pictures of us with David and Lincon (the alpacas)
If your kids love interacting with animals, then this is a great little spot to visit! Besides the adorable Llamas, there are many other goats and sheep to feed and engage with. The cutest Pony and larger than life Camels in addition to all the Geese and other farm animals, also got the toddler really excited! We ended the visit with some time in the play area, whilst Dad enjoyed some delicious coffee and cookies. Will visit again.👍
Perfect family hang out! Feed variety of animals! Kids loved it! Also a nice jungle gym. Lovely view from deck. Coffee shop
The place is amazing for kids , especially the close ups with the llamas and being able to feed them. The coffee shop however lacks customer service . The menu is basic but the prices are bougie. Also we were served cold cappuccinos. Not a very pleasant experience for adults wanting to grab a cuppa enjoying the view .
Whats not to love about an Alpaca farm. They have a great little shop inside that offers all things Alpaca. They also have a coffee shop that offered a few sandwiches. Barn tours were R100 and included entrance to the petting park, which I believe was R20. Packs of feed were R20 and all the Alpacas were extremely friendly. I cant wait to go back!
Great lil place to meet & feed the alpacas and browse the farm shop for items. The wooly items are pricier than a retailer however, I felt that they were much better quality and you can support the farm which is worth the price.Probably not enough things to keep you entertained for a whole day but definitely can be extended if you have lunch here as well.
We had a great day. Our tour guide was very informative, charming & friendly. 👍The tour is not suited for younger children though. They got bored halfway through as it is quite long & the visitors ask many questions!! 🙈🙊🙉 Our tour guide took time to answer each one to the best of his knowledge which I appreciated. The petting area was fun as you get to feed & touch the alpacas. It was a bit over crowded so we didnt get to interact with the animals as much as we would have liked to. Also... You work through packets of food like crazy! They have a shop where you can purchase alpaca wool products as well as other curiosities. They are pretty expensive though! We had drinks ☕🧃🥤 & cakes 🥧🍩🍪🍰in the restaurant & I must say the cheesecake was delicious! All in all worth the trip.🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙
Great fun for kids and adults, good nibble bites as well! Had lots of fun and info on the alpacas and petted them and fed them.
Great for a coffee or milkshake and has farm style for facilities for kids to interact with animals. Also has a nice curio shop with hand created clothing and textiles.Service is a little bit slow.
Great experience. Friendly staff throughout, from sales to tour guide. Tour guide was especially good, with jokes, knowledge and a personable personality.Animals are clearly well looked after, and it was great being able to pet, feed and get pictures of/with them.
We booked the Alpaca Walk and absolutely loved it. Great day outing for family, kids or just you and your partner. Learnt heaps, was a new experience and not too far out of Cape Town. Great value for money and will be back !
Great place to take kids to experience Alpacas up close, not many such places around. There are a few free-range alpacas roaming around that are not enclosed. They seem very tame, almost too familiar with people, they may overwhelm smaller kids as they are quite tall and eager to get something to eat. With your R20 entry fee you can feed them, along with the geese, goats and sheep.Better to keep your hands to yourself at the donkeys and camels, they have less finesse when it comes to eating...Inside is a coffee shop and deck outside that overlooks the play area and pens (or enclosures? I dont know what you call an alpacas house... 😆)
I absolutely love this place 🥰 highly recommended if you are ever in the area! The staff is great and the animals are so wonderful
This place definitely will cheer you up!And there tasty croissants here 🥐Entering fee 20R, food for feeding 20R100% recommended
Wonderfully exciting, alpacas and llamas well groomed and cared for. Awesome gift shop, delicious food and beverages. Friendly staff, friendly animals.
Was a very nice experience. R20 per person to feed the animals and R20 for a bag of food. The petting zoo was nice as they had alpacas, llamas, geese, goats and sheep. There were also camels, donkeys and horses. They also had a coffee shop and a variety of sweets, cakes and treats. We did not have anything to eat or drink, as were just came from Spice Route, but enjoyed our visit to the petting zoo.
Walking around feeding Alpacas was so much fun definitely worth going there! Loved all the different hairstyles each Alpaca has with their unique facial expressions. Was very insightful when going on the tour of the farm learning all about the Alpacas
This place is a great place for kids as an outing.. You can buy food for the animals that you can feed.. You may not feed all the animals but those that you are allowed to feed is fun to feed and the packet of food you buy is enough to give most of the animals that can be fed.. Lots of different animals.. There is also a coffee shop and nice souvenirs to buy.. Was worth exploring and very inexpensive for both options.. Go and enjoy the beauty..
Everyone should visit The Alpaca Loom petting zoo at least once 🖤 an absolute delight for both adults and kids! You have the option of taking a guided tour or visit the petting zoo which is a really fun experience. Grab a bag of petfood at the coffee shop and suddenly these weird but wonderful creatures become your shadow until the bag is empty. The zoo is home to alpacas, llamas, camels, donkeys, horses, ducks and other friendly farm animals. There is a coffee shop where you can also buy gift items and clothing made from alpaca wool. The views are stunning!
A fun outing at this farm… clean facilities, friendly staff. Too hot to do the barn tour. The Alpacas were too adorable. A great place to take children of various ages.
Absolutely incredible. Loved interacting and feeding the animals. They were all so cute. The walk is a bit expensive so we gave it a skip, but seems like you can only see the baby alpacas up close with the walk so that’s a bit of a bummer. The gifts in the shop are also incredibly expensive. That’s the only reason I am giving it 4 stars. It’s really an awesome outing for all ages and something different. Also recommend going early because it gets super busy.
Seeing Alpacas for the first timeAnd they spit you if they trying TO get attention. But they harmless.Absolutely adorable. The kids and adults will enjoy feeding them.
Really love coming here. Great place for kids and animal interactions. There are tours available as well which are super informative. Also recommend coming around September/ October when there are babies.
This is an amazing place to visit if you are an animal lover. You can really learn so much about Alpacas. The coffee shop is also in a fantastic place since you get a great view of Table Mountain on a sunny clear day. Highly recommend for younger kids.
Amazing to pet and feed some Alpacas. Their food is also very tasty, if you have a big appetite order two for their portions are very small. They have some alpaca products but are quite expensive.
What a fantastic outing for our family include our 2 year old toddler twins. The staff were so friendly and goes the extra mile. You can absolutely see the owner loves what she does. Would definitely go back. The great coffee and biscuit is also a major plus.😉
Nice quick stop for young and old. We only did the petting zoo and feeding part but got to see, touch and feed the Alpacas. Nice curio shop but pricey (most things are Alpaca products this the price)
Very informative and fun tour of the farm housing the Alpacas and their living environment. You learn a lot about Alpacas from the friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. The shop has many Alpaca wool items and beautiful gifts as well. Its well worth the visit. Rustic experience adds a better feel to the visit of this sort. Well done to the tour guide and keep up. We will certainly recommend it. I did a few video clips and will post these as well.
Get to meet the lady who produces gorgeous handwoven scarves ... Alpaca wool is increasingly soft. The animals are so soft and beautiful. Would have loved to take the barn tour, which I have been told is very informative. Worth a repeat visit.
Great quality Alpaca wool items.Their coffee is just awesomeVery interesting place to visit for all ages. Walk with an Alpaca is a must. The view from the shop is just awesomely beautiful
We loved every second at Alpaca Loom...they are so Beautiful and Docile...many other animals as well. The restaurant serves Fresh and Delicious Food..we had Spinach and Feta as well as Mushroom and Chews Chiche❤🍴❤
Beautiful experience with these cuties, we really enjoyed it...they are so adorable!! We took the full tour of the farm and the guide was so kind and share all about Alpaca to us. A whole new things weve learned after the tour. You can also adopt them if you wish too but it advisable to adopt in pair as they wont live longer alone..😁
This is not a petting zoo but a working farm and it is understandable that the focus is on production of wool. The facilities are adequate and provide for a unique experience amongst the strange Alpacos. Being there with my grandchildren I was apprehensive about us feeding the animals (being amongst themas some of them became quite agitated at not getting enough of the snack and they started competing for it. Toilet facilities were basic but clean. Overall an interesting visit.
Very child friendly!Nice coffee shop with friendly Alpacas roaming just below the deck. You have to order your beverages and food at the counter (which wasnt clear initially). Limited food options, but appropriate for a coffee shop.Jungle gym for children (you have to pay if 3 years or olderand you can feed the animals (R20a bag.Walking tour is every hour on the hour and the guide made it fun and interesting. (adults R100, children 3 years and older R70).
Great experience and would highly recommend it! The petting zoo experience allows you to get up close to the Alpacas as well as goats, camels, horses and more. Would recommend grabbing a snack bag as you can hand feed some of the animals in the petting zoo. Didnt do the barn tour as we ran out of time but they happen every hour. Got to see a bunch of baby Alpaca anyway as they were out grazing!
Great fun for kids and adults. We did the alpaca walk, so we got to walk around the farm, each leading our own alpaca. We then went into the barns to see the breeding stock and babies. The guide was great, very informative. The food and drinks from the cafe were delicious and there was beautiful alpaca wool clothing available to buy. The farm seems to really care for, and take care of, its animals.
