It was excellent my waitress was on point my food was good no complaints

Waitress took long to bring us our coffee, it wasnt busy at all, even our order took long out of an hour we only had 20 minutes to eat before heading back to work, which other places didnt even take long even though it was a little busy, thought this place would be quick, we were wrong. I doubt we would go again. Breakfast was good though but too slow.

The quality of the food today was off. We asked for a few items taken off of our food and they were still on our food.

This is definitely the definition of a "hidden gem". The restaurant side has great food and service. The bar side, can get a little rowdy at times, but full of locals just looking to have drinks and a good time with friends!

Good food, good service, good prices. Recommended! Update July 22 its gotten better.

The food was nasty it didnt look appetizing at all it looked old and dry. A frozen Banquet Mexican tray looks even better. The guacamole was like a teaspoon and it was black and mixed with old shredded lettuce. Looks nothing like the pictures on the menu!

Great place to grab a cheap beer. Great food, reasonable prices!!

I really like some of the dishes at Sabrisos. That said its hard enough to eat something from a restaurant at regular price much less charging 3.99 for a small Togo salsa. I really cant believe it. I purchased a queso with beef and thank God it came with chips at no extra charge. That cost 8.99. I asked for some salsa with it and was charged 3.99!!! Really?!?!! I paid the bill that was 14.05 for a small cup of queso and a small cup of salsa and chips. MOST restaurants will give you salsa with your order of queso. Not this one. I called the manager and she told me yep thats what we charge. I asked if I had sat down and eaten at the restaurant I get chips and salsa complimentary. So when I carry out I and everyone else will pay a lot more just for carry out. Keep that in mind when you carry out food from Sabrosos.Thanks

Great place to eat. Service was fantastic. Quick to find seating, quick to take your order and quick to deliver fresh, hot and tasty food. I will definitely return and I will not be alone.Thank you!!!

They have the best service, food, and prices, the employees constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything, and the food was very good and the prices were even better, I took my family of 7 to eat there and was amazed at how much it was, we will continue to go there and tell everyone about them, so if you want a great place to take your family out to eat and you want a place where they will check on your drinks and anything else you might need and you dont have alot of money this is a great place, food, service, and money wise.

They never get my food right even when they repeat it back to me correctly. Food was super cold not fresh not worth your money or time. I am tired of them never getting my basic order right after multiple experiences, I will never return. horrible management.

Horrible. Terrible service. Took over an hour for food. Carne guisada was just gravy. Additionally, I left my glasses on the table and called back to let management know and was told they werent there and I should look for them. Manager was very rude and crass. Definitely do not recommend. Worst Mexican food establishment on this side of town.

I love the margaritas. Try the Mango. Also tacos. Hey its all good. The hotter hot sauce is great. Usually its just tomatoes but here it has flavor. I could just eat the hot sauce and chips while drinking a margarita. My wife and I have been here twice now. I will be back.

My wife and I would come every other day and get breakfast burritos before I would go to work. I would speak with Jessica all the time. Her and her employees are amazing. I have moved out of Lubbock and I still crave this place to this day. I miss their amazing food and staff

The menudo was too watery, not enough meat. The food was skimpy for the the price! It took 1 hr to serve our food after we ordered!!! We wont be going back. Improper attire for some the waitress.

My sis found this place when her car was getting fixed at a nearby car dealership (Id say which one but I cant spell it!! 😅😀)But this place was such a nice surprise!! The food is good, the prices are great & the Margaritas are MUY BUENO!!! 😁 And, if you need to take the extra food you just cant eat, they will box it up, add fresh chips & a separate container of their homemade salsa!Nice!There is a separate bar if you want your music louder or your drinks quicker. But Im 56 - well past the ol aint-I-a-perty-young-thang phase of my life!!!Anyway, give it a try - you might just find your new favorite restaurant!!

Food is so good, but really keeps me coming back is the service. Everyone is so nice. Can I tell you about their Bloody Mary YUM!! Definitely Try This Place Very Much Worth It!!!

Having recently moved to Lubbock, we were looking for our go-to Mexican restaurant when we stumbled onto Sabrosos (this isnt it for food but we go weekly for karaoke, but more on that below).As for the food and why I gave it 4 stars. As Ive mentioned in another review, I was spoiled by the food choices while living in Phoenix for 12 years. Unfortunately, the Sabrosos food that Ive tried, and their chips and salsa are only "OK" but, to be fair, I am not a big fan of Mexican cuisine so perhaps I judge it too critically. I did order the tamales one time. I got sick. I dont drink alcohol so it wasnt because of that. The timeline added up to the tamales but Im not sure why it happened. Im scared to order them again even though they were very tasty.Before I forget - we highly recommend Roger for his karaoke show. Roger is not an employee of either Sabrosos or the Alibi Bar, he is the KJ every Wednesday night. His sound system is AMAZING - the best in Lubbock that weve found. Roger is friendly and outgoing and makes people sound like stars. We LOVE that the Alibi Bar is an OLDER (aged 40+AGE GROUP so we get to dance, sing and listen to a lot of Elvis, old country from the 1960s, and sing along to the pop songs of the 1970s. Thankfully there are no disgusting-lyrics or rap songs, screamer music, etc. that our older generation tends to have very little tolerance or appreciation for.We now go there for date night on Wednesday night. And if you are into singing or listening, the karaoke participants are like family and very supportive of each other. There are many excellent singers there and, if you havent heard my husband sing, OMG, you are missing out. So come on out and join us mature folks for some clean music.BTW - the bartender is AMAZING so shout out to Vanessa!!

Family and I ordered for the first and LAST time here! Food was cold, looked like it was just thrown on the plate. Most importantly we ordered a Steak Jalisco plate—DISGUSTING! meat smelled rotten!! If it smelled this way cooked, what did it smell like raw?! Waste of money!

Weve been here for Taco Tuesday a couple of times...cant beat a $1 taco and I love their frozen margarita... Happy Hour till 7pm!

Kitchen is slow and the service is slow. It seems like a bunch of highschool kids work here that dont care how to properly work at a restaurant. The servers sat on their phones most of the time. It took 30 minutes for one of the five servers to ask if I needed help and check on my order. This place deserves to be on Kitchen Nightmares.

Me and my husband went to Saborsos today for the first time. I couldnt wait, because the food looked so delicious. I ordered the menudo and it was horrible; it had no taste, it was watered down, and my husband had the fajita combo. He said it wasnt good either. The waiters would take a long time to get us refills on the drinks. There was a man who came out the kitchen with pants way below his knees. When you work at a restaurant you need to look personal because no one wants to go to a restaurant where you can see someones dirty underwear lol. I will never go back. 42$ and it wasnt even worth it.

The kids and I stopped in on a Sunday morning to an almost empty house. Which was surprising because there was so many good reviews. Coffee and tea were both delicious. The kids got the normal kid food, waffles etc. I got the machacado plate and a large menudo to share with my adventurous middle child. The food was delicious. The menudo was perfectly spiced and had lots of meat. The thing that set this visit apart aside from the food, the server was incredible. She was so friendly and attentive, it was really a great experience. Great place!

Excellent food they even have to go they even serve breakfast and they even have their own separate bar although none of them are too crowded but just crowded enough to enjoy your time there. They have a large selection of dishes and everything Ive tried has been excellent even the chili relleno

I think this may be our new Taco Tuesday go to. Brianna our server was awesome and the Tacos are amazing. Its not crazy busy and it is extremely clean. I am so glad to find this place.

I stopped in and enjoyed a tasty breakfast. Caroline provided excellent customer service! I complemented her on their very clean restaurant. You should know that their restroom was completely spotless. To me that speaks volumes! I will be eating their again!

We went to Sabroso side first, they were not friendly at all.So we went to the Alibi bar side, totally different atmosphere, more lively and friendly staff. Food was decent, but it was hot and fresh, definitely a texmex place. Prices were not bad at all.

Great food nice atmosphere friendly service 😊👍 I had the carne guisada plate 🍽️ , and my hunny had the Taco 🌮, burrito 🌯, and tamale 🫔 plate 🍽️😋 was delicious 🤤 great place to dine and friendly staff.

I ordered vegetarian enchiladas and requested no mushrooms. Not only did they fulfill that request, they added extra veggies (bell peppersto make sure that the enchiladas were full and satisfying. They were so delicious and it meant a lot to have my request handled is a way that honored me.

Worst rest Ive ever eaten at. A while ago my wife and I order cheese sticks they came frozen. I asked waitress to please cook them she came back, they microwaved all the cheese out of them had empty skins. Last night thought we would try again. Went to karaoke night which was great, I love cheeseburgers with mush and onions. So I ordered one, about 1/2 hr later waitress said Im sorry we are out of cheeseburgers. Would like to wait an hour so we can thaw them. Who wants to sit for an hour to wait for dinner... already 7:45, I dont eat dinner at 9pm. Never going back...

Vanessa is awesome and is great at customer service! She gives my beautiful daughter some comp! Go by and let her provide you with some wonderful food and friendly service!

This place was awesome when it was mamaritas. Had a horrible experience. Was there for almost 2 hours, service was terrible, they brought us our food with no silverware, the waitress was by herself and could not keep up at all, she looked like she really needed some help. Six other people walking around in the front of the restaurant with no customers up there, full bar in the back and none of them would help her take orders or anything. It made my girlfriend so upset she literally cried. And the food was mediocre at best. Not impressed. Will not be back. Nothing against the waitress, she was trying her best. One girl cant run a full bar with people ordering food as well. Manager needs to get thier people organized.

The bar is litt! If you like a good beer, Mexican food, and a chill place to unwind. This is the spot... unfortunately they don’t have enough glasses to serve cold beer when it gets busy, so if you walk in and it’s busy, I’d walk out cause they don’t have enough glasses to keep them cold. But I’m just a regular.

They have dine in now and a nice bar.

First ordered an unsweet tea which was absolutely horrible, very strong. Ordered a Chicken Fried Chicken and originally got a Chicken Fried Steak. Returned it for a Chicken Fried Chicken. It took another 30 minutes to get the correct order. The chicken taste like rubber. Returned it and the manager never came to my table to apologize. Worst Mexican Restaurant in Lubbock.

What changed? New management? We used to enjoy this restaurant for their service and food quality. Today was terrible! We went at 2 p.m. and there was only one other table. Service was extremely slow. The chips used to be great. Today, they were stale. The tortilla soup was the worst weve ever had. The lettuce and tomatoes were watery, the guacamole over ripe. We told the waiter we didnt like the tortilla soup. His response? "Yeah, I dont like it either...". No offer to remove it from the ticket. This used to be one our favorite restaurants. Looks like we will have to find a new one.

This used to be a Mamaritas location. They have made some good positive changes - now have actual large menu and wait staff. Food was good and plentiful. Wait staff was pleasant although a little unfamiliar with the menu. Kitchen was slow compared to the number of people in the building. Will probably go back and give them another try in the future...

This is my new favorite Mexican food destination!!! Weve been here several times and have never been disappointed in the food OR the service! I love that there are several healthier options on the menu, so I can satisfy my craving without completely blowing my daily nutrition.My honey had the Frontera Burrito. Some of the best taco meat around! I ordered the Pollo la Crema - chicken with zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, peppers...so MANY veggies yall! And a small, appropriate sized serving of chicken. Ive ordered similar dishes other places and the chicken is always so huge and the veggies so sparse.I am sooooo impressed with Sabroso and I hope they plan on sticking around for a long time to come!

We came here for lunch. Well it take them a good minute to get us the menu because they didnt have any menu books. Waiter was quite basic. Like he didnt give out a positive vibe. His attitude was more like "what do you want?" Lol. The restaurant is pretty crowded which is a good thing but service itself needs a lot of work. Theyre short staff and thats not a good impressions for new customers.

Great food, poor service and communication. Made aware to two staff we wanted help and sat for 15 min no follow up or communication today, will try again.

Great food! They have amazing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The wait staff is very friendly and I have always had a positive experience here.

My family and I had an early dinner at this place and believe it was an amazing tex-mex option.One of the best out there.They also had some California-inspired dished on the menu as well.Servers were nice and professional. Food presentation was really good and tasted great. I really liked the fact that they start with some fresh chips and salsa for an appetizer. Guacamole was freshly made and you could tell it’s made in-house.Menu had a lot of different dishes to choose from. In other words you can definitely find what you crave here. We ordered Tres Amigo Fajita, chicken enchiladas and steak. It was amazing. Well-cooked and delicious.All in all, I see great potential in this new restaurant.
