I have enjoyed everything I have ordered from this fine restaurant. I know they also serve Chinese dishes, but I cannot imagine there is better Indian food available anywhere. I order more Indian vegetarian dishes than anything else, but this is because the vegetables here are so beautifully seasoned, whether in curries, samosas, or spring rolls. The Alcove 50-50 is a great entrée that allows me to enjoy 2 different curried vegetable dishes; one half portion of spinach and sweetcorn curry, and one half portion of mixed vegetable curry. I really think it is the most delicious mixed vegetable curry I have had anywhere. The Goan fish curry is also delicious, as is the Goan prawn curry. The Rice Jeera is also delicious, and I look forward to the next time I have the Chicken Jeera too. Whether you have a large party, or dinner just for one, you wont be disappointed with the peaceful atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. The prices are very reasonable too. I highly recommend The Alcove for any occasion.

Cool location ,having indoor and outdoor options was a place without forgetting the tropical lush gardens in the outdoor so breath taking and relaxing.....the ordered dishes were so delicious that I still remember the taste ....I had a wonderful moment here the service was very hospitable.... surely will have more visits here.....

Always top class, the vegetable Manchurian is sublime. Tandoori mushrooms though.. seemed of the canned variety, the only thing I could find slight fault with really, but theyre good nonetheless

Food is good and tasty. I just wished it was hot when served. The waiters r partial they dont assist you if they have not attended to you from start. And while the waiter who attended to you is busy with other tables you have to wait to ask for a soft drink. If it wasnt for the manager who goes from table to table we wouldnt have been attended at all. Keep up the good work

As the name suggest it is near to Beach but also the food taste is good.It has both Veg or Non Veg food including Indiana Dishs.

Great outdoor seating and yet dated decor on the inside.Sprawling menu with fantastic options and absolutely delicious oriental cuisine.Highly recommend the lobster and starter dishes. Good selection of good wines as well.Friendly and efficient Waitrons.

The starters were really tasty. However, we were not happy with the mains: the Indian curries were not fresh and the bread (naanwas very stretchy. Weve eaten here before and the food was better, maybe its just this time that the quality reduced. We were just hoping for food thats as high as their prices.

The breakfast was limited to some items, many of waiters and waitresses dont speak freely English.Some services are very expensive, (eg. Shaving 7$).

Decent food though most of the dishes are of Indian cuisine with a few Chinese options in there. Service is excellent, ambience is good and all round great experience.

This restaurant is legend.. Always really good food and staff are very good... Try the outdoor searing its very nice.

Excellent food, excellent service

Every one should try the chicken makhanwala. It’s a speciality dish and cooked in a style I have not seen anywhere else in the world. Also in tanzania people have tried to copy it but the original is the best yum!!!!

It is the branch to the other restaurant which is inside dar es salaam city.U will only locate it when u enter the casino building and entrance to Karambezi cafe.Expensive food . Service is slow and u may have to wait a bit longer.U can have a look around after u order , have a swimming pool , nice landscaping.. they have a outside garden sitting as well as inside is good and exquisite sofas, dining setup.Crispy corn dish which is a speciality is same in taste at both their restaurants.So u will find the same food here also.All in all expensive and can visit once . Not for regulars

Great Indian food. Try the peshwari naan, coconut prawns with spicy corn as a starter. Good South African and Tanzanian wines, with some Australian, French and Latin American choices too. The Spier Chardonnay goes well with the spicy menu options. Friendly service. You go through the ominously tacky casino entrance only to find a tranquil garden and tastefully decorated restaurant. Will go back!

Very bad experience. A waiter welcomed us in and gave us a table however no-one came to serve us or assist. Had to leave after 20min and complained to the manager on duty. I dont recommend, they ruined my family dinner.

Very slow service.Waiter took order for drinks and food. Brought the food and that was it. I waited 10 minutes to have one of them pass by my table so I can ask for the bill. Not even the manager came to ask if the food was prepared well or whether I needed anything else from them.

Its such a nice place to spend with family and friends. Little costly compare to other joints of DSM city. But worth to spent. Nice location particularly at sun downer time. Ample parking. We can keep Kids away to play themself. Safe even late evening. Good staff and timely service with perfect taste. I personally love to visit again and again

THE ALCOVEVisited on a not so busy weekday the restaurant has two sitting area and we chose to sit inside and the ambience is great.The waiters were happy and always smiling throughout the evening something you dont get in Dar.The food was great and the portions were generous. Our fav. alcove special chicken was not on the menu but was served upon asking the waiter..Overall had a great evening and delicious food.

Superb place for dinner. Was there with cousins and had a blast. Yummy food with very polite staff and outstanding service.

A buffet only option for Valentines Day dinner with bone dry kebabs, curries that uniformly tasted like pickle, and gulab jamun with the consistency of Gerbers baby food simply does not cut it. When its outrageously overpriced as well, the lesson is to simply never go back. Too many other really good Indian options on the peninsula.

Delicious Food! I had the Chicken Schezwan Sizzler and butter naan; was very happy with the food and service. The atmosphere is also good! It is a little pricey, but is expected from a high-end place like this.
