Friendly service. Although the food came cold and we waited a long time between starters and the main course!My BBQ chicken was not sizzling as advertised in the menu! But I was too hungry to give a damn by this point!Cocktails helped to pacify our hunger for a bit, with their fantastic, visual delights, of dried ice. Although the cocktails didnt taste as good as they looked or described in the menu (once againwhich again was a massive shame!Total unexpected pity! The restaurant wasnt busy either so no excuses for the food dalay. And on a Monday evening!So, fair to say, no I will not be returning to The Alchemist anytime soon!

Single handedly the best cocktail Ive ever had! Decor was amazing, presentation was amazing, service was amazing just nothing but amazing things to say! Well worth the price... also if you look online they have some amazing art work!2nd round, highly recommend the cherry Poppins! He got the smokey old fashioned again... why change perfection? 😍

Went for my daughters birthday. I found the place very dark and very loud music so not that great for sitting chatting. Food order arrived quite quickly. I tried my wifes sauce and it had so much salty that you couldnt eat it ( roast beef sarnie with dipping sauce)I had the fajitas again salty so salty I didnt even eat half of it.We mentioned this to our server who apologised but made no offer to give alternative or offer a discount on the overall bill .We said again that it was so salty and reply we got was... Oh yeah thats probably right cause quite a few people have complained. So complaints made / raised but nothing passed back to chef who should have reduced the seasoning.The server made no attempt again to suggest theyd raise this with the manager or to offer us the option to speak with the manager. Meal ruined and Ill not be returning.

Super interesting but the wine itself is not very good tasty. The idea and creation, imagination got fed.

Attended on a quiet Sunday afternoonit wasnt too busy and we got drinks and a starter. We took over a table outside but the staff member who just cleared that table didnt think to come back and wipe down the drink stains. As for the drinks; The Milk and honey was pretty subtle and interesting. also had the bubble bath cocktail which is extremely foamy. The padron peppers took 25mins to server during a time in which it was about 20% capacity so that was a let down in service.

If you want a side order of theatre and prestige served along side your drinks, then this is your place.Dry ice, fire and smoke added to high-end cocktails. Whats not to like?Also the food is banging!

Decent food at lunch time, not too badly priced. Portions a little on the small side but nothing too bad. Service was very quick.

Very Cool place, expensive? yes, but worth it, wish I had tried the food. Cocktails were really cool in beakers and dry ice flowing***UPDATE***So I have since returned for more cocktails and I tried the food this time and it didnt disappoint. Loved it. Great vibe. 🥩🍗🦪🍤🍸🍹🍾🧨⚗️🧪

This is cool bar where they experiment while setting up the cocktails. The core essence of many is dry ice which in contact with liquid creates huge amount of CO2. May be not to sustainable from emissions point of view but super cool to watch.

Great cocktails for reasonable prices that taste good and are prepared with a show. Nice choice for dates, a place to bring city visitors and all around good fit for any occasion. They have an outside area/terrace, where you can smoke, a drinks only area with self service and a sit down area where food is offered alongside drinks and you get served by a waitor.

Would like to give a special shoutout to our waiter Charlie, you were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Customer service skills like I have never seen before! Made us feel so welcomed and looked after, made sure we could sit comfortably, then took care of our cocktails that tasted great! Thank you! Will definitely be returning.

Fab place to eat and enjoy drinks with friends. Staff were so helpful as there were 15 of us, so i highly recommend a visit

Great service and tasty food. Staff were all very nice and friendly, but most importantly, efficient and professional.Food is fine, but a bit gimmicky. Id rather better food served on a plate than ok food served in silly things. The French Dip Sandwich is more of a Philly steak with gravy than a true French Dip, but it was tasty. The burnt rosemary was totally unnecessary. Salt and pepper chips are delicious and reminiscent of an Irish "spice bag." Gyoza were very tasty and the lemongrass sweet chilli sauce was divine, but quite overpriced for just 4 of them.Cocktails were tasty but again too gimmicky. The legal one was funny, but impractical, in the end you have to pour it in your water glass to even finish it. Nice wine selection. The viognier mix was excellent.Dessert brownie was good, but the accompaniments took it to another level. Would have liked to try some of the other desserts but was too full.Ambience wise its a lovely place with interesting decor. The music was way too loud though. I think it was carryover from the bar, but those of us there for food had to shout to converse. As you looked around at other tables you could see they were all having the same problem. Should wait until later to turn up the bass.Overall a fun night with lovely staff and service. Would come back for sure, but I think the old adage of "keep it simple stupid", would serve future menus better.b

Really clever place to go for cocktails , it’s like stepping into a chemistry lab! Some really wierd drinks but they are wonderful with all the dry ice they use!

Yes this is a cocktail bar and serves delicious drinks. Also, it has amazing food! So tender and lovely. It is pricey but it is quality. Recommend.

We did a cocktail making class with 11 girls with food included and it was so much better than I imagined. Charlie the head bartender was fun and brilliant at teaching us how to make the drinks. And none of us expected the food to be that great even though we have eaten at the alchemist before. It was a really great experience and the bride had the best time ever.

Good quick service, food was delicious. Steak n chips very tasty and chicken curry lovely. Curry sauce comes in a separate jug, good idea so you can add as much or little sauce. Was very mild. Would come again, highly recommended.

I have always wanted to try here and I am so glad I did. The drinks are fantastic so different to your everyday cocktails. The staff are brilliant at what they do serving three people at a time whilst mixing drinks which were delicious. Would highly recommend this place.

Absolutely loved it! We never been in Manchester out drinking so we took a chance after we have seen a post on facebook. Lady behind bar was so welcoming we decided to sit by the bar and enjoy watching her whilst she was preparing loads of fancy drinks. I can tell you we had 3 drinks eaxh and I could definatelly feel them in my head 😆 we will definatelly be back. Keep up the good work !

Great selection of cocktails with a theatrical presentation. I had the Pipe Dream cocktail, truly smokey smell but the taste is very smooth and round. Cool vibe

A great dining experience to begin the evening for my friends stagg party. The food was fantastic and great value, the wide variety of available drinks was appreciated and the staff were perfect. I honestly cant say enough positive things about our visit and not only would I visit again, I would happily recommend others to pay a visit. Thank you!

Possibly one of the best restaurants Ive been to in the World, the meal was amazing, the experience you have with the cocktails really make the night enjoyable and entertaining, will 100% be going back there again.

The food was good if a little overpriced. I loved the duck salad and the pickled watermelon. Cocktails are fab, very wide selection of drinks.

A little pricey for the food but overall pretty decent. Drinks menu is comprehensive.A place of contrasts, I had one of the worst whiskey sours of my life, but the blood orange baked Alaska was one of the most unusual and delicious Ive had in years, utterly stunning.

It was in central location. Nice cosy place to sit and chill. Very friendly staff. The Food was amazing. I have tried smoked chicken. A bit like fajitas. Really rich sauces. A bit long wait due to the crowd. Very nice atmosphere though. Highly recommended. They have another branch in Hartmans square however this one is really the best.

Amazing!The food was really good and although the portions looked small, they were just right. The cocktails are just something else! A real wow moment when our drinks arrived. Well definitely be back.

Excellent bar! The cocktails are very theatrical and taste amazing too. We had gone for the all that glitters brunch which tasted nice, would recommend getting thr hash brown bites! The selection of drinks was ok but nearly all of them had gin which isnt great when you arent a fan of gin/bitter cocktails. Picture is of the cherry collins which was delicious.

Great place to have a cocktail...or two! The variety of cocktails here is very good and they are always up to a really good quality. Its awesome to see how they put the cocktails together right in front of you with some of them having some very weird effects on them, if you enjoy the sound of it I would definitely recommend the colour changing one tastes awesome and it is cool to see it change colour as you add the different parts of the cocktail. Quite pricey but overall its probably worth it.

Great place to go for having a cocktail. Great discovery from a friend. Located in the city center the place offers a wide range of cocktails. Its worth mentioning that all the cocktails are unique in such a way are served, made and presented to the customer. The place offers food as well but I have never eaten there. Furthermore, is a bustled place, therefore, I recommend to book in advance to have a proper place. The service is excellent 👍👍.

Nice food and excellent cocktails. Only drawback is being asked to move after 1hr 20 mins as the table was needed for another booking. Would have loved to try the deserts but this would put me off dining here in the future but would drop in for cocktails.

Came here on Saturday evening with my wife and two friends who we haven’t seen in months thanks to covid.We booked a food and drinks table and were well waited on by Nat during our time there!The food was gorgeous and the drinks even more so! Nat even helped to get me a ‘Solero’ my favourite cocktail that they’ve unfortunately recently scrapped from the menu.The wait and bar staff are all very eager to make you any drink you’d fancy as they are all trained in classic cocktail making, so even if there isn’t your favourite on the menu don’t be afraid to ask for it and I’m sure they’ll be able to make it for you!This has and will always remain my favourite cocktail bar. Can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Obviously drinks are a little more expensive but you’re paying for an experience you can’t get anywhere else. The main Front of House was great and the ladies there were really respectful, very well mannered and polite. The service of food and drinks was very quick!Food Quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Overall quality of my food was extremely good and high quality. Our group tried a huge variety of drinks and food throughout our visit. Everything was amazing quality and even the ones that weren’t preferred were made very well!Restaraunt Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The overall cleanliness of The Alchemist was really high. Visited last night for cocktails, had an amazing vibe and drinks menu, the staff was friends and service fast. We really enjoyed are time there and will definitely be back again

Booked a cocktail making experience for my best friends hen do and honestly couldnt have asked for a better do! Luke was fantastic and so patient with us all! Got our own spot at the bar and all got to make two cocktails as well as sharing one of each made by the professional. 110% worth every penny and would book the experience again in a heartbeat!

Great fun, tasty and worth every penny!Bitter cherry was very bitter and very delicious.The only downfall... the waitress referred the gentleman bussing drinks as JUST a busser.He was polite, charming, and made the little time he had with us wonderful. No-one is just anything. Hes a valued member of your team!! 🙂 otherwise 5*s guys keep it up!

Great selection of drinks, all very unique, some are a tiny bit expensive given the size.I didn’t particularly like mine but it was probably just a poor choice , the menu is quite extended and a bit overwhelming , I had to choose quick as my group had already picked theirs.

It was really busy but they let us go in without a reservation as then had a bit of a gap. Really nice location and never fails to look and feel amazing inside all the Alchemist bars. Staff were all very welcoming, nice time had and really nice to be able to go out again. Five star

Overall nice atmosphere and great for brunch. The menu is exciting especially the drinks menu; it makes you want to try everything. The food looked nice but the steak had a bad aftertaste that ruined it for me. Loved the chicken wings and the duck spring rolls that we got. Id visit again but make some different choices.

Nice venue, quite a young vibe. The cocktails are aesthetically pleasing but not that well balanced. The food however is very nice, great selection of starters but not an inspiring choice for the mains. The quality of the food is good, very tasty and enjoyable. The service was impeccable, Rose our waitress could not have done more for us, she’s a credit to them. Paula was also fantastic, she came to check on us throughout. The service really made our whole experience great and would be the main reason to return. I recommend eating here.

The whole aesthetic is very nice, from the decor, food, and drinks. The waitress serving us was very friendly and was attentive. The food was tasty and more inventive than your standard chain. The drinks looked the part, but all ones our table ordered were too sweet and lacked any finsess that the food had. Overall, would recommend

We came here for cocktails one Sunday the set up is good with the social distancing and the place is clean everything is done with table service and the menu is on an app. They don’t show you any prices on the app which I think is quite bad really as it is quite an expensive bar.We had 5 cocktails which were good and the bill was £46.
