Great drinks fantastic staff really friendly people and place. Watching the staff make the drink is half the fun. Ben was really good and very friendly.

What an amazing place to eat and have cocktails which come down with a little fun and excitement our waitress explained everything and couldnt be more helpful the food was delicious. When we go back to Liverpool this is our first stop ☺

My husband and I have always been curious about this place and finally had the chance to go last night. A really cool place, good atmosphere, fun drinks with cool theatrics! Loved it! Its a bit pricey, but youre not just getting a drink, youre getting a bit of a show too.

Fabulous cocktails and a very clean bar. The pub empty though which was a bit weird.The woman mixing the drinks was very friendly, could talk for ireland (where she was originally from).The prices are a bit pricey but that is to be expected. Not your normal cocktails!!!

I have been here to celebrate my big birthday and this place didnt disapoint. Staff was really nice, food was great and we all loved the decor. Staff kept us table after we called we are being 10 minutes late. They took our photos. Cocktails were amazing. I couldnt wish for more to share a meal with my lovely girlfriends. It is walking distance from Albert docks and Mathew street.

Fantastic cocktails, wonderful atmosphere, and delicious food! A true triple threat in Liverpool. Check them out if you are in the city!

I took my son here for brunch having heard about the unusual drinks served. I feel bad for not remembering the waitresses name but if it helps shes just back from maternity leave. She was so lovely and suggested a fabulous drink suitable for my 12 year old that produced dry ice when he mixed it much to his delight. We had appetizers and dessert which was delicious. A side note, the bathroom was not just beautiful but immaculate. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great service and a novel experience!

Laughable cocktail bar with staff that really dont care. We went on a Tuesday night, so not too busy. One order was a pisco sour, I asked if it was worth ordering two, the bartender said he didnt know as he didnt like them. Reassuring. The unique pisco sour came with lots of ice cubes and no bitters. That and a terrible espresso martini were sent back. After abandoning cocktail hour, our friend then ordered a last rum. The staff came to our table to say they no longer had it, and that they needed to refund him to then charge 2 quid more for his next choice. Not worth the heartache for sully staff and shi*e drinks.

Loved our girlie time , especially @ the alchemist . Nibbles were great , Cocktails amazing & Claire it was lovely to have met you ! Will defo be popping in again on our next visit , best bit of the day , just to relax and enjoy some good company !!! & obvs a cocktail or 2 or 3 😉❤

Come for the cocktails but not the food. The starter sharing platter was good which made set the anticipation for the main course, a steak sandwich. The steak was dried, hard and unrecognizable as meat. I asked if this is what it should be like and apparently the chef said yes, which is unbelievable.

Disappointing how they make the cocktails at the bar. In my opinion, finishing touches such as making your drinks bubble or fizz should be done on the table for customers to fully enjoy its effects since were paying for it

Top notch alchemy. Your drink will smoke, fizz, burn, explode (well, maybe not explodeall while managing to be a brilliantly mixed and tasty cocktail. Staff are super friendly and more than happy to explain what on earth is happening to your drink and perhaps more importantly which bits are edible (sometimes all of it including the cup). Food was tasty with occasional pizzaz - and not too badly priced, given the overall theatre of it all. Paulo Coelho would be proud.

Visited here for a birthday meal with my partner. The food was great and the drinks were lovely as well.It was pretty busy so sometimes we had difficulty getting the attention of our server.There was also a really loud group table near us which spoiled our evening a bit but that’s not the fault of the establishment!

Came as part of my daughters birthday celebrations. Had a nice meal and some lovely cocktails. My daughter also received a free birthday cocktail. And my younger daughter enjoyed her mocktails.Food came out nice and hot although I was slightly disappointed with my Korean chicken burger as there wasnt enough sauce and mainly tasted of just bun. The rest was yummy especially the dough balls and onion rings.Staff was all very helpful friendly and attentive especially kerry who was lovely.Thank you for a great visit

Id heard of, but never been here but Im glad I have now.Fantastic place, maybe a little expensive but worth it for the experience and to see peoples faces as their cocktails smoke and smoulder away in typical school chemistry vessels.Brilliant idea and place.

After a truly fabulous night we were presented with a bill for over a £100. A bill that had already been paid at £25 a head. We hired the bar space next to the entrance for over 20 people for a hen night.From email correspondence not anywhere was there a mention of a hospitality charge!!!! Drinks were left on the tables ( In bottles, we poured ourselves, only mixers were refilled…. So service at a pure minimum.The bill was a joke!Thank you for replying to my message, I’mWondering why you didn’t leave your direct details so that I can claim back the service charge…. This wasn’t offered on the evening when requested, so I’m sure you now understand our frustration. How do I arrange to collect the refund?

After visiting you for my long awaited hen party, I was extremely disappointed that a group of my friends werent allowed to leave your establishment without paying £100!We all paid £25 which we were told would give us a sectioned off area plus drinks and snacks however, when we tried to leave we were told to pay more! £100 MORE!It was explained that prices had gone up since we booked but that wasnt mentioned to us at any point before we wanted to leave, so I feel it was unnecessary to stop people from leaving. Since a couple of bad reviews from the ladies, you have said that there was a 10% discretionary charge for your attentive staff - they werent attentive as they didnt need to be - we poured our own drinks.On the reviews you have said that you will pay this money back. Thats great BUT why were my friends told that you would call the police if they didnt pay?? Why not just explain it was discretionary? And we would have politely declined!This as you can imagine put a massive damper on the whole night and we do expect that money refunded as this is what you have said you will do!Absolutely unnecessary nightmare!

Possibly the worst meal I have had for years, the food was in miniscule portions and the fish and chips equated to the equivalent of 2 x fish goujons sadly there was more batter than fish with a small handful of chips. Taste was OK but for what you got the cost was extortionate. A place that is hyped up and does not deliver. The cocktails were very impressive to watch but again are very expensive. Wont be back

Classy little gaff. If the front door is closed dont get fooled by trying to push or pull it open because it wont happen, simply slid it from the middle outwards. Food is excellent. Really good quality place.

I had a great evening here at The Alchemist! Our waitress was extremely knowledgable and recommended great cocktails for us. I highly recommend the Chasing the Rainbow cocktail. The only downside was the mains which was not as good as the drinks. I had the Katsu chicken burger which was a little dry

We went there for breakfast on the weekend and it was quite busy. We ordered burrito which was good but not hot enough. Breakfast menu is quite limited and expensive as compared to other places next to them. Service charge is added to the bill which I found weird for the breakfast. Its a chemistry experimental theme based place.Pros: Good ambience, Different experience, ServiceCons: Expensive, Service charge for breakfast.

Wow! what an amazing experience 13 of us went as one of our hen party activities and we all throughly enjoyed it.All the staff were really friendly and the nibbles were really good too would definitely recommend. The cocktails were amazing and to actually stand behind the bar and make them was really neat.

What an amazing place. Got served by a young girl called Charlotte who really looked after us. Her customer service skills were outstanding. We were celebrating a birthday and she really did pull out all the stops. She’s a credit to the bar. Thank you Charlotte. ❤️

We had a cocktail making experience here for a hen party! It was amazing! Eric our bartender was great with us all and we had such a laugh!The cocktails are incredible and are such a reasonable price too! We had a really good time! Highly recommend this place!

Booked for brunch. Cocktails were great for the show and theatre but mediocre tasting. Had an issue with finding glass in one of the drinks we had. Will always judge not on the issue but the way it was dealt with and the waitress was super apologetic, grabbed the manager straight away who dealt with it in a professional way. Food was great, brunch cocktails not for us but I do love some of the others they do and complaint handling makes them a win. Kept a customer despite a rough visit.

Cocktail lovers dream! All the usual classics to pick from and their own specials that bubble, foam and delight.A nice place to go for something different and try the wide selection. It is expensive but a good experience.Good music on and nicely decorated. Helpful friendly bar staff who can offer tips on the wide range of cocktails.

A great place to go if youre looking for a delicious cocktail! Not only do they taste great, they come with a theatre experience. Always an array of skilled mixologists creating flames or clouds of smoke as they prepare the huge range of cocktails on the menu. Very trendy decor too, this bar is a definite go to on a night out!

No visit to Liverpool is complete without a visit to this place!!! I booked me and a friend for the brunch where we got 3 cocktails and a brunch item from the menu for £25 & it fid not dissapoint! The theatrics of the cocktails is amazing and staff are very knowledgeable and so friendly. We watched lunch food fly by and were very impressed. Food was gr8, drinks were fab...go!!

Cocktails are very fun, but a touch not strong enough. However, place was buzzing, so atmosphere was good. We had lots of food which was nice enough. The best bit was our host, she was so friendly and lovely!

Fabulous as always, the staff on the bar are always excellent, there just never seems to be enough of them. Whereas the food section seemed to have excess staff.

Nice place to go for some drinks, the cocktails are prepared in the bar, not at the table, so keep it in mind if you want to take a video 😉PS: If you sit near the bar you can also see how other drinks are prepared that is also nice.

Wow what an experience, what an awesome place!!From entry to leaving it was seriously a memorable occasion that we can’t wait to do again! The staff are so very warm and welcoming, the food was delicious & the cocktails were out of this world. Add to all that, the theatre, the ethical background and you feel so much better about having such a fantastic evening.Make sure you have plenty of room, from the starters to desert everything was cooked to perfection and so very tasty. The charcoal battered cod & chips looked strange due to the black exterior but tasted phenomenal. The French Steak Sandwich was gorgeous and I would definitely have that again.Kate, our server was so very lovely, funny, warm and patient we really couldn’t have asked for more from her!Can’t recommend this place enough for a memorable night/evening with friends or loved ones

First time ever in The Alchemist Liverpool! Great venue and amazing cocktail list, will definitely be back to try some more. Very busy when we went so waited a short while before finding a table to sit our party but would still recommend trying this place out!

We came to the Liverpool branch on the 18th September to celebrate my 40th birthday. I have to say a special thank you and shout out to our man Johnny(sp?). He was so attentive, kind and professional. Even making sure I knew that I could have a free drink because it was my birthday!.Everything we were hoping and more. Cocktails were amazing and the zombie apocolypse syringes were an excellent introduction to the drinking games of our 2 18yr olds! Definitely will be back.Burger sauce was Amazing.

Really nice cocktails which I normally wouldnt drink but enjoyed them alot and was really surprised by the amazing food all we had were nibbles but they were lovely.

It’s a lot of fun going here and watching the staff make the cocktails is very impressive. It’s amazing how they remember how to make them all. We had a couple of different ones and they were all lovely. Obviously the best part of going is seeing the theatric side of the cocktails. However it was very busy and hard to find space to move. It was also very loud at times hard maintain a conversation.

Came here for drinks with my other half as we are visiting Liverpool from Essex. The selection of cocktails were out of this world! Such a unique place and can see why it gets the reputation it has.Cocktails that we tried tasted & looked great! The only small criticism I could give is that the cocktail portions were very small. Definitely go visit for something a bit different!

What a tremendous experience! Such theater! And the cocktails were delicious! The Madhatters Tea Party (I thinkwas the most exciting drink Ive ever seen! We loved it! Staff were lovely too!

Good food but more importantly for a cocktail bar, good drinks, and plenty of off-menu classics also available (if youre not feeling adventurous). Good service from attentive (but not imposingstaff, in a comfortable setting, with sensible infection prevention precautions in place. Some good fun to be had with the more creative concoctions available (if you fancy a bit of theatre at your table). My only criticism would be having to ask for a tidy up after some predictably extravagant choices were made.

Turned up after booking a table, the place stunk of fish - it was very pungent. The service was not great at all, considering you cant order a drink at the bar, we waited 20 mins for the waitress to take our order - even though we tried to get her attention several times. She just didnt look interested at all. Would have been handy order on an app or something if there is not enough staff.Some of the cocktails were a bit hit and miss too. Wouldnt be in a rush to go back. It was OK.
