Wooden boards give the interior of this old timey pub serving British grub the feel of a ship.
The Admiralty in Kinkala
Description
Very large pub on three levels facing Trafalgar Square cental London. There with a group of 120 Freeman of London and the normal punters. They managed to feed and water all of us quickly and efficiently. Excellent menu choices and wine selection good.
MoreIts a great place to rest!!! The Scott eggs is nice, toddler approved!!
The interior and location are 5 star. Just across the street from the National Gallery. The general staff all seemed to be new with little information about the menu or general offerings - but the manage more than made up for it. He was hustling around, waiting on tables and delivering food and drink.Food came out promptly. Possibly the best fish and chips - and scotch egg that I’ve had in all of London. And I travel here allot. Lunch rush was wild, but we’ll worth it.
MoreElegant place, great service, quality food. higly recommended to attend
This place was awesome. Delicious, piping hot pies and cold ale. Fun ship themed decor. Despite seeming to be short staffed and very busy, the food arrived at our table very quickly. Only four stars because the waitress didn’t clean the table completely.
MoreAverage place, average food. They brought the wrong order. Long wait. Toilets dirty. Very noisy and crowded. Wont go again. 12.5 % tip was added to the bill . I would have not left any tip as service was below mediocre.
MoreGreat hand-crafted meat and veggie pies. I had a sampler of three mini pies and three half-pints of Fullers ale. Delicious savory pies and tasty beer to wash it down. Dont expect to hold an intimate conversation, the noise level is somewhere between a dull roar and a raucous football match. Only pub on Trafalgar Square.
MoreBeen here 3 times for their fish n chips!Cute place near Trafalgar and Piccadilly .
MoreReally disappointed. The service was slow and when I ordered a pork pie was cold and raw. When I got back to the waiter they told me it was normal... It was not the first pie I ate in my life and that one was served directly from the fridge, with a really tiny pot of veggies. Everything for 15£. Not going back there again.
MoreExcellent London fish and chip experience!. Clean tables and restrooms. Awesome outside seating and right next to hop on hop off bus stops. Highly recommend.
MoreNice pub food, good service and decent beer. What more do you need?
At Trafalgar Square, perfect location. Seats available overlooking the fountains. Beautiful decor and city views. Worth the visit. Pleasant atmosphere and polite staff members. Overall quality service.
MoreW/E visit so very busy. 1st visit for a couple of years. Food above average price, below average portions and not appealing to the eye but was tasty enough. Beer served very cold but once left for 10 mins Fullers pulled through. A bit disappointed.
MoreCool pub with central and easy to find location. Good selection of drinks. Chips was not the best. Toilets at the basement has a door with no doorknob. It was a little bit confusing for silly me. You just need to push the door with a mirror on it.
MoreThe pub is conveniently located on Trafalgar Square - the menu mentions this, along with a small paragraph on the history of the pub, including why its named and decorated the way it is!The food and beer was excellent and reasonably priced, especially considering the prime location.Unusually for a London pub it has a lot of seating, and a variety of booths and tables that meant no waiting for a table even though we came in at 1pm!
MoreWent in for a bite to eat and meet up with a few friends. There was something for everyone on the menu from light bites to full meals, we ate in the bar and service was good. We were lucky to get a seat for 6. Would advise booking a table.
MoreUsed this pub recently and was very impressed with the service and quality of the food. Would definitely recommend this pub and will use it again. Also, a very good location to watch the world go by if you can get a table outside.
MoreSome of the staff here are brilliant whilst others were lacking. The food however was amazing. Unexpectedly good for a pub in Trefalag Square. I visited with friends and everything we had was delectable. Weve already planned a return visit.
MoreGreat atmosphere, good value for money, friendly staff would recommend
Nice Fullers pub with a nautical theme. Friendly pub with a good selection of beers spirits wines and food. Near to Trafalgar Square so was quite busy when we came.
MoreA big Fullers pub that is over priced given the location. No surprise. Nice staff.
MoreFood was oke. Unfortunately the burger of my son was just a bun without the vegetables and sauce on the menu. And staff wasn’t paying any attention to us. Or asking if everything is oke.And we would love to have an extra drink and dessert. But they rather hang around the bar. A shame because the Pie was very tasteful and we would loved to order more.So nothing special here.
MoreSo this is a Fullers pub, just off Trafalgar Square. Visited at lunchtime and it operates more like a restaurant. You are greeted at the door, then shown to a table. Its really all about the food offering, getting you seated and ordering your food.I found it rather perfunctory and felt hurried along. Had a club sandwich which was frankly rather indifferent (£9).Sorry not to be more enthusiastic. I love traditional pubs but its getting harder to operate the business model especially in a location like this. The atmosphere was lively and patrons who are less cumodgeon like than me seemed to be enjoying it.
MoreClean, bright and spacious pub with good service. Really enjoyed the good beer. I ordered nachos which I found disappointing because the salsa topping was bitter (probably b/c tomatoes and white onions were chopped in a food processorand there wasn’t enough cheese topping. I don’t think the nachos were worth their price.
MoreWhat a great pub & restaurant! Beautiful, light and airy inside, while still feeling like a traditional English pub. Great selection of beers, and good service. We had erroneously ordered a meal that we thought was vegan, but was actually vegetarian. We realised it was not vegan and couldnt eat it, but accepted that it was our oversight and were prepared to pay for the meals anyway. The waitress/manageress very graciously removed the meals from the bill and didnt charge us. We thought it was a really lovely gesture! Highly recommend 👌
MoreLoved the atmosphere and service. Very friendly bar staff
A really lovely pub, friendly staff, very clean and a modern interior. Felt well managed with some interesting beer choices. I went for the Amstel as they gave it to me, so no complaints given that. Would happily return.
MorePInot at the table, this light and delightful pub on several floors has excellent food and especially fast service. My meal was served quickly, and was seasoned with fresh HErbs - such an unexpected delight!
MoreWent for the first time yesterday, and the food is just amazing! Probably one of the best pies Ive ever eaten. I would definitely go back when im in London next 🤤👍
MoreLove this pub. Great atmosphere, very tasty fish and chips. Hot chocolate was delicious on a cold evening. Very helpful staff.
MoreAfter visiting the National Gallery, I was expecting a pretty generic pub, I was wrong! The location is fantastic, just across the road from the corner of Trafalgar Square.. look for the Canadian flags on the building opposite. Its a beautiful pub, loads of memorabilia with lots of character.Staff were lovely, food great and I discovered Beavertown craft beer, very tasty! Nice mixture of locals and tourists,Next time Im near Trafalgar Square, Ill be popping in, totally recommended!!
MoreA great location and appropriately themed pub too. Restaurant area is up the stairs in the gallery. The loo was quite quirky with a glass panel obscuring a staircase. On visiting the basement with its naval theme was closed. Food was very good (tasting pie boardand staff were friendly.
MoreA wonderful pub with great Sea and Naval artefacts. Lovely welcoming staff.I was invited to the basement part of the pub for a James Bond related event. Derek Lyons ( OCTOPUSSY, A VIEW TO A KILL, THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS AND GOLDENEYE SHAKEN NOT STIRRED.This was with Terence Mountain ( OHMSS, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVERand the wonderful Maddy Smith ( LIVE AND LET DIE).Matt and Nick hired the area for a few hours.Derek
MoreMet here for some drinks. Absolutely stunning venue. Polite staff too.
Great place for a delicious meal right off the square. Booking a table online is easy and the staff are helpful.
MoreHad good memories of that place, as weve visited it in 2016. Unfortunately, this time the place was extremely noisy, and they didnt have the tasting menu. Pie was somewhat disappointing too.
More10/10 would recommend. I have Celiac (ie no gluten/wheatand the team went above and beyond to make me gluten free fish and chips. Great environment and friendly atmosphere
MoreVery nice pub. The place is clean, bright and the high ceiling give you an impression of space which is enjoyable.Weve received a warm welcome from this lady with nice and funky purple hair ☺️. She took us to a table and then, the order was taken very quickly and our cider came as well very quickly.Very nice decoration, good range of beers.Nice pub. Will go again 👌
MoreProbably my favourite place in central London to sit, to enjoy a pint and to watch the world go by. We visited The Admiralty regularly when we lived in London and we now like to pop in, for old times sake, and to relax and to simply sit and watch the world go by.Last week we sat and watched the Scottish fans, in town for their group game against England, with all their hopes and dreams, and this week we watched a few of the returning tourists of which we are now, as they took their photos. Its busy but a great place to sit. We didnt eat a meal on this occasion, just a few chips to fill the gap before dinner later in the evening.Track and trace is a must of course and ordering is via either scanning the QR code on the table or via the app. All very easy 🍺 🍷🥂
MoreFunny enough, this was the first time that I have been to this pub. I always thought Te Admiralty would be very tourist, busy, not nice place to grab a drink, and I was completely WRONG. The pub is absolutely stunning inside, very nice deco with many old paintings and 2 large chandelier at the middle of pub, creating a very elegant and enjoyable place to be. On ground floor you will see high cocktail tables and dinning space, but they also have a mezzanine floor with a great view to Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery and Buckingham Palace gates, you feel special having a drink looking at these directions lol.Well I would 100% recommend to check out place, the service is brilliant and it is really enjoyable.
MoreStylish pub with a nice ambiance, good variety of beers and friendly staff. The prices are accordingly to the location - a little bit touristic as you have Trafalgar Square across the street - so they are a little higher than usual. Try some of the pies!!! Amazing place for a quick stop during a tour in Central London.
MorePretty busy on a mid-week evening in December but its huge and can absorb it. We had a small private space reserved and some spectacular food, esp pies! Bar staff were fun and quick - all you can ask.
MoreI really enjoyed my dinner there. Quick, friendly service & the food was really tasty for a Pub. I can strongly recommend the Chicken 🐔 Burger 🍔!
MoreLocated right across from Trafalgar Square. Awesome interior over multi levels .Another visit and still one of my favourite go to pubs whenever I visit London . Really nice mix of beers .Here we go again. Still awesome.
MoreThe service was great, food fresh. This bar is like museum. Just walk downstairs to discover private vaults later decorated as a bar
MoreThis pub offers a spacious yet cosy feel and serves up a delicious feast of ale and pies. My personal favourite is the Steak and Fuller pie with a side of mash. The restaurant menu also offers a tasting board of 3 ales and 3 mini-pies so you can really try out a bit of everything. Visitors should also definitely check out the bathrooms located on the lower floor. It feels like youre on a ship with an intricate maze of doors and narrow passageways.
MoreI love this pub! Food and service was lovely and I like beer as well! Atmosphere is decent. They do live music session at certain times on Sunday. I recommend to visit here on Sunday!Definitely going back.
MoreSuper cool bar and area with amazing food and the Tasting Board was such a good deal! Super cool atmosphere and the food tastes amazing. My favorite was the Steak and London Pie. The brown gravy is the best Ive ever had. Make a reservation. Clean restaurant. Downstairs theres no table service and you order at the bar. Friendly staff and cool decor inside.
MoreNice and clean pub situated adjacent to trafalgar square. Beers were decently priced considering the location. Staff was super friendly. Closed down at 11pm on Friday night. Hence the 4 stars. Definitely a keeper
MoreGood place right at the heart of Trafalgar square. Cool and cosy pub with a nice quieter spot downstairs. Expect to pay £6 for a pint. But its central London. Id go again
