Amazing variety of food and beverages, with something for everyone. Food is beautifully served and tastes as good as it looks. Order at the counter and hunt for a table. Shortcoming: not enough parking.

Love the food and the atmosphere!

Loved the pumpkin latte and iced pumpkin bread. Sat outside with friends and enjoyed the morning. Relaxing way to spend a Saturday!

First time trying this place, the girl at the register seemed to have an attitude, I’ve ordered a lotus drink, it tasted like 90% carbonation and 10% flavor, after 5 minutes it tasted like straight water.

I love The Abbey! Food & coffee are consistently good. Staff is friendly. The outdoor seating is great with nice cool breezes. The inside tends to be a little echo-ey & noisy.

Excellent food and coffee. Pleasant atmosphere. Comfortable and relaxing place to visit. My favorite is the Sweet Louise salad. And they have a great good decaf coffee too!

Best local coffee shop/cafe in West Belleville! Very friendly service, delicious coffee and food! The atmosphere is lovely!

If I could give negative stars, I would. Our physician office frequents The Abbey. Yesterday, we received the worst service anywhere and will absolutely never be back. We were literally thrown out because it was 2 minutes passed closing time. We barely had time to finish our lunch and our drinks were dumped. We were told, “ It’s time to go, we need to sweep”. And I asked, “ Are we being thrown out “? The gentleman clearing our table responded, “ Actually, yes you are”. While I can respect and appreciate “ hours of operation “, this was poorly handled. If we were not going to be allowed to enjoy our lunch and company, we should not have been served. Our office CHOOSES to patronize this local business several times a week, this will no longer be the case as we will give our loyalty and money where it is valued and deserved.Now more than ever, businesses should be happy the community CHOOSES them. Do better.

We attended a private party at the Abbey with food having been brought in, so I cant comment on the food service; however the bar service personnel were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was clean, and sported a fire pit outside with seating.

You will not find a thing that isnt awesome here! Both of the varieties of the Granita are fantastic, and the BLT is for sure my go to! Its always worth it coming here, if youre considering visiting you definitely should!

Great food for breakfast or lunch, good coffee selection. Even has alcohol and live music performances some evenings!

Long a staple in West Belleville, the Abbey is a great local alternative to the Big Brand coffee chains. It is a large dining room that still remains cozy at the same time. Friend staff and amazing food at reasonable prices complete the Abbey experience.

Good food, good service and a very nice atmosphere!! Dont let the parking lot fool you, generally theres plenty of seating.

Excellent flavor! I’m impressed, and that’s rare!I got the eggplant panini and cinnamon roll.Well and appropriately seasoned panini, I felt like I was eating real food made by a real person: the flavor really shone.The cinnamon roll was *thankfully* not overbearing in sweetness! It had a pleasing balance of crisped outer layer and warm moist interior without being doughey! It wasn’t drowned in icing, and the icing was rich and smooth with no aftertaste-bitterness that sometimes creeps in with some icings! The Abbey’s cinnamon roll is SO close to my idea of the “ideal cinnamon roll,” I have no idea what could possibly make it even better.Thanks for good food!

Nice place to visit with friends, work, study, or just have a good cup of crafted coffee. Relaxed atmosphere with tables, couches and chairs.

I love hidden gems. And if youre in Belleville or the Metro East looking for a coffee and sandwich shop, this is the place. I prefer supporting small businesses like these vs big corporations. Great place to relax, hangout with friends, business meeting ... I even saw a couple of folks conducting hiring interviews. Very spacious inside.

Let me start off by saying I was a thru and thru Starbucks girl before visiting here! I always saw it but never stopped, finally, I decided to, and I’m so glad I did!! The inside is absolutely adorable, and the employees are beyond nice. I cannot remember her name but there is a pretty blonde barista who helped me make a decision on what to get for my first time in! She was delightful and so funny! I will definitely be a returning customer !

Came in for a quick drink, been here for 20 mins and no one has either greeted or asked me if I wanted anything. Came in and sat down at the bar and been passed up by every employee working out front at least 3 times, and I’m the only one sitting at the bar. Getting up to leave now as no one seems interested in service in this place; won’t be coming back!

Great coffee and such good food. About the same price as standard coffee franchises. They do have limited hours which some weeks is disappointing. Cozy and friendly atmosphere.

whomever is answering your phones is going to drive your business away. they are rude and have short patience . I have never come to your establishment before so I decided to call in, I asked how much is your veggie sandwich?response: same as all the other sandwiches.then I could hear them ask someone and they came back with a responseI also had to call back and ask does anything come with your sandwiches I got a response that time but before I could say ok Id like to place an order they HUNG UPtheir tone was rude and made me not even want to try it because if someone is rude over the phone I certainly dont want them preparing nor serving me foodI understand maybe it might be lunch rush but thats still NO EXCUSE you still need to be courteous and professional ad well as patient with your customersi mean really. is it a cafe or a slop house?

This place is a dream! Great food, great coffee, liquor for those who want. Quiet atmosphere perfect for studying, munching, or gathering.

A great place to get away thats not far from home a place where my neighbor and I go for girl time to catch up from the work week to relax in front of the fireplace and watching other enjoy each others company 😊 and smiling faces it is just a all out wonderful atmosphere to be part of. I love it and I think you will also.

Visited the Abbey for the first time and definitely plan to go back! Very clean, open area with a very friendly staff. Not to mention the great Latte. Would really love to see a "bullet-proof" type of coffee offered though.

I’ve been here several times and have always found their coffee good. The last few times I’ve had food here have been a different story. I had lunch there yesterday at noon and that will be my last visit.I noticed black, moldy specs in our water so my husband went to return the glasses and ask for new water. When he explained to the person at the register what the problem was she insisted that all the water is filtered and that nothing was wrong with it. As this discussion is taking place, another server grabs those two glasses and takes them to a table that is waiting for their food! We had to buy bottled water.I ordered a spinach salad and paid $2 extra for chicken. The “chicken” was the frozen chicken product that you buy that’s shaped like chicken breast and colored up with grill marks. Super disappointing considering the salad had walnuts, blue cheese, and bacon on it. My husband had a frittata. For a salad and a small frittata I paid $20. On our way home we were struck with intense GI upset.I tried so hard to love this place because it’s local and unique. I’ll be getting lunch at Bread Co.

I really did enjoy this place, we had a birthday celebration for myself here. However, when we came in, the atmosphere was really nice, music was at a perfect level and the band that was playing was incredible. They even incorporated the crowd... which for me is a nice plus to the already fantastic tasting food. Will return in the future!

Our knitting group met here and we had the best experience. We all ordered coffee, lunch, and sweets. The bacon sandwich is to die for. The had no problem with us taking a big table and hanging out for a few hours. The atmosphere is very friendly and the staff was inviting. Our group will be meeting here again.

Weve been here 3 times so far: breakfast, just for caffeinated drinks, and lunch. They are always fantastic. The food is delicious. The drinks are warm and tasty. The place is beautiful. And the staff is friendly. We havent tried their coffee liqueurs yet, but hope to in the near future. If youre looking for a light breakfast or tasty lunch in a relaxed setting, this is the place!

The frittata is amazing. Cooked perfectly, packed with cheese and sausage. Amazingly fresh and not overly sweet cinnamon roll. A delicious chai latte with one pump of vanilla was devoured by my children after asking to taste my drink. The breakfast panini was not my favorite so next time Ill just get 2 toes off frittatas.

I havent been in Belleville in years, so to find the Abbey for a cup of coffee was absolutely fantastic! The customer service was excellent. The coffee was was good and the food was decent. However considering the other options on the Main Street, meaning fast food... The Abbey definitely gets five stars!

Really good food and vibe! The coffee is great too. Staff seems to be a touch slow with service but are super friendly. The patio is my favorite and it’s probably the best iced tea I’ve ever had! I’d say if you’re in the mood for a good sandwich and a low-key vibe...this is the place.

Nice looking place. Cute menu. Portion sizes are SMALL!! half a salad comes in a tiny bowl that they use for cups of soup. Clam chowder went from being creamy to being broke down and watery before I finished eating it(and i did not because of this). The chicken that you can add to salads is that precooked sliced processed chicken you can buy in a bag at the store-NOT what I was expecting(gross)Had a hair in my salad I discovered mid bite(love flossing my hair with someones hair while chewing). Very discreetly informed the cashier that I had the unfortunate luck of finding a hair in my food while chewing- Had the hair on the side of the plate for her to see. She takes the plate, goes in back and comes out to my table a couple minutes later. Instead of asking how to rectify the situation she states "no one in the back has that color of hair", Then was like do you want another salad. It was like she was accusing me of planting the hair in my salad.

Very good drinks and food. The live music on the patio is fun during the warmer months and it is nice to site by the fireplace inside during the winter. Great place to study, read, work, drink coffee, listen to good music, eat good food, and be merry.

Met a client here to go over some documents and Im so glad she recommended this place. The coffee and muffin were delicious. The staff was helpful. Excited to go back when they have live music.

This place is amazing. I bought a large cafe latte and blue berry muffin and the total cost was 8.00. Very easy to access and only 5 or so Minutes from Memorial Hosp. Great place to hang out.

The Abbey is a great place, overall but last night I met their dishwasher, Kenny. I dont know what kind of money he makes, but he deserves a raise 😁. He really made an impression with me, as he was so kind, realistic, and had lovely goals for his life. He was very professional and was a great conversationalist. He dresses better than a professional golfer, which is nice for any business casual role but is above and beyond for his role. Kenny behaved grateful for his job and colleagues, and Im sure they treat him with the same respect as thats what he deserves. It was an immense pleasure to meet this gentleman and I hope the best for his future!

Love this place! Every coffee I get here is great! The ladies definitely know what they are doing when it comes to making an excellent coffee. Great gelato, sandwiches and soups. Maybe a little expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Friendly, warm, and inviting. Good food and hot coffee. Very relaxing and enjoyable.I know about the guy Leslie mentions, and yes, he is a bit stand-offish. Friendly to some people but not me. I overlook him. I have a good rapport with the rest of the crew but there is definitely somewhat of a clique. I create my own enjoyment and find the overall environment comfortable. Ive never been treated negatively but actual table service could use improvement. Not a waiter/waitress model. More help yourself.

Really cute atmosphere! Went on a first date here, great choice.. Enough seating in the inside or outside around the large fire-pit where they have live music. Really cute ;)Great options for sweets, coffee and great evening ! Great wine selection as well.
