Really excellent pub, very friendly landlord who made us feel very welcome, and very well kept beer! A must visit when in Poulton.

Good real ale selection but can get a bit crowded and noisy. IMO the real ale is slightly too cold and improves in flavour as it warms.

Stopped for a couple of pints when visiting friends in Thornton Cleveleys, staff was friendly and welcoming, pub was spotless and the beer was spot on. Will be back!

Brilliant pub. Great selection of ales proper local pub. Dog allowed and very welcome which is brilliant. Mini bottles of prosecco and they have 19 crimes.

Wednesday early doors with some friends, as usual excellent service with very good prices, upstairs outdoor area very pleasant and relaxing, get their early as it fills up quickly, good place to meet prior to eating at one of the many top notch restaurants in Poulton le Fylde 👍

Good traditional pub. But sadly is now over run with dogs. This is probably one of the reasons it is much quieter than it used to be shame.

Great local community pub, and I mean PUB, not a food bar, music bar but a traditional English pub where all types, solicitors, managers, gardners, painters decorators whatever your trade all meet chat joke and drink. Great atmosphere where your chatting to the friendly landlord one minute and a happy joking glass collector the next. To many of our pubs have changed for the worse the Thatch hasnt been the same center of the community social gathering place for over 35 years. Added bonus some pretty chicks at weekends.

Just had a very pleasant evening in the best pub in Poulton by far. Great, friendly atmosphere sat in front of a real fire warming my cockles drinking their own brewed beer.

Proper pub in Poulton, say that after 10 pints!Nothing else to say - quality boozer, great staff. Could do with a better selection of draught ciders but thats it.

It was packed to the rafters , its always a good pint and a friendly pub but it put me off a bit with the spread of the covid going up , so tried to get the beer fast and stood outside in the beer garden , only had the one didnt fancy pushing back to the bar so left via the back gate

Extremely popular and very busy but plenty of staff so youre not waiting around to be served. Live sport on so not a place for a quiet drink!

Lovely old pub, there is a smoking area in the back and a roof top which is nice in summer to sit and have a drink, in the centre of Poulton

This pub, for me, is the hub of Poulton. Although I live in Thornton this is my go to pub. Great location, up to ten real ales on offer, all in great nick and friendly, knowledgeable bar staff. All of which is a credit to themselves and, of course, Neil.

At last - normality - Had a wonderful time standing up, near the bar, admiring the 10 different hand-pulled ales that were available. Tried a few as well - all ales kept extremely well by the A-Team. It was brilliant to see so many younger patrons as well as the seasoned regulars - the Thatched lives on !! Hurrah.

Tried to book a couple of tables for an ex-military get-together for one of the lads 50th birthday. Was told in no uncertain terms that my business was not welcome - ‘I don’t want the business’ were the landlord’s exact words. Never made any attempt to accommodate. Absolutely no idea why - I went in to the pub in person, and was absolutely polite. Very rude and condescending, telling me there’s plenty of other pubs in Poulton. Well indeed there is, and every other landlord I spoke to was more than welcoming. Military/ex-military not welcome.

Was offered best seats in house to watch Blackpool promotion game by Neil Swift (landlordwithout having booked prior. Exceptional staff and thoroughly enjoyed afternoon with my son. Despite restrictions, this pub showed that things are getting back to normal. Highly recommended and fantastic landlord. I live mostly in London & there is not the same atmosphere in the Capital at the pubs I frequent. The moment I walk through the door and I am shown to my seat by friendly staff, my usual is on its way, with much reduced price than London.The best referee in a football game is not noticed but always there, the same for the staff in this establishment, the moment you finish your drink, they appear. So many places at the moment, you have to wait or awkwardly place your hand up for service.I cannot recommend this pub, landlord or staff enough 👍

The thatched is the reason I cant move more than 5 minutes away from the centre of Poulton. Favourite pub by a long way and I have been in one or two. Staff are great and the beer is too. The pictures are from last christmas because that was the last time I took a picture with it busy with people stood up like it should be. Cant wait to get back in there when it reopens. Would recommend but dont be booking all the slots so I cant get in! 😉

Great pub. Good selection of local real ales, its own brewery out the back and a real old fashioned pub atmosphere. It gets super busy at the weekends and is mostly standing room, like a proper pub. There are a few tables also. The new addition of a roof top terrace is great in the warmer weather.I have been coming here for over 20 years and its still one of the best pubs in poulton. Lots of beer. No food, great atmosphere. Its what pubs should be like.

Came to watch the boxing on Saturday with a Friend. It was our first visit and Neil couldnt have made us more welcome. A great pub, with a great team behind it. Will be coming again! Daniel

A great real ale pub with friendly bar staff and they dont serve food.

Serves up to 8 different real ales at any time including 3 of their own ales which are brewed on the premises (chapel St brewery). Doesnt serve food but as long as you buy a drink you can bring your own food in or buy food from the local shops including 2 very good sandwich shops across the road!😁 (Fish & chips not allowed as it stinks the place out!). Poulton has over 6 good pubs but the thatched is a real ale drinkers paradise!😁😁😁😁😁
