Thanh Vu Restaurant - Vietnamese restaurant in Prince George, Canada
Thanh Vu Restaurant in Prince George
Description
Privilege
Fantastic Vietnamese fiord in BBC a a nice large space with efficient and friendly staff. Gluten free options plentiful. Food excellent and good portions. We enjoyed the whole evening and it was good Daley as well. Staying in local hotel but judging by how busy it was it must be popular with locals as well
MoreLove this restaurant, excellent food and service
Im from Calgary and was here visiting family , ended up here for lunch with an old friend. I like me some good V food and I wasnt disappointed, I got the spring rolls with noodles and a Coke, as did the other person I was with. The dish had plenty of food on plate , and was tastful, service was good as well and price was worth what i got. I would go back and try another dish next time Im in PG.
MoreBest restaurant in Prince George, always love the flavors and portions are huge for what you pay. Most restaurants in town have increased prices and reduced portions/quality but not Than Vu. My wife and I go here almost weekly.
MoreI had the most beautiful server. Inside and out.Food was great, try the shrimp/pork springrolls
MoreOnly vietnamese place in PG right now but the Pho is delicious.
Very good pho ! 😋 highly recommend !
I like the food, atmosphere and staff. It does seem expensive to me. I do not feel like the prices reflect the amount of food received. How about throwing in some napkins and chopsticks for takeout.
MoreDeluxe appy platter is very good. Cashew chicken is also a regular favourite but can be a little heavy on the onions.
MoreI arrived in Prince George, BC around 5pm and was looking for something good and filling. After several Google searches, I stumbled into Thanh Vu, which had quite a high rating of over 4.5 out of 5. Needless to say, their “Large” bowl of Pho (soup noodlewas a small size at most Vietnamese restaurants. The quantity of beef was no more than several small slices and they sliced up 2 beef balls onto 4 quarter pieces. They charge an additional $2 for the tripe. The fresh mint and bean sprouts were the highlights. All in all, I spent approximately $40 for the small meal with two “Dragon Rolls” and a Vietnamese coffee. After the meal, I tipped the waitress and bluntly told her that I would be leaving and going to another restaurant for another meal. I do not understand how they had received such a high rating and will not be returning.
MoreLove the food here! Still the Best spring roll Ive found across the country. Food is always fresh and very generous portions. Whenever travelling thru Prince George I make sure to stop here.
MoreGreat place for dinner! Quick service, great spring rolls and best prawn brochettes Ive ever had
MoreSOSOSOSO YUMMMY I love how it is real authentic homemade Vietnamese food..not packaged and heated. I always go to Vancouver and eat food because prince george doesnt have a variety of foods that are authentic and fresh from other ethnicities!!! Thank you! Let me order again lol
MoreHad the red chicken curry and the imperial roll. The roll was 90% fried batter and the curry chicken had zero spice and next to no flavour. There was just the smallest hint of ginger. Save your money and go elsewhere.
MoreWonderful food. Very fresh ingredients and huge portions. The restaurant is extremely clean and the staff is tidy and attentive.
MoreIncredible, quick service and food was absolutely delicious!
Nice place with very friendly servers and great food for good price!
Very good spicy duck soup and calamari. I had Pho soup here as well before and was very tasty except no basil and fresh chili available compared to Vietnamese restaurants in big cities ( Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver...). I would recommend the bbq beef and chicken skewers as it was very full of flavour and delicious. Attentive and friendly staff in the restaurant . :)
MoreNice clean restaurant. Service and food is excellent. Definitely recommend.
One of my favorite restaurants in PG. They newly renovated the place and it looks great! I always get the beef soup and its delicious. Its too good that I dont want to try anything else on the menu. If you want to try something delicious and not the usual around PG, check out this Vietnamese restaurant
MoreThe food was tasty but very salty. Servings were generous. We had the rice noodles wth chicken. Thats what came with it. Typically the dish is served with chopped lettuce, shredded carrots, cilantro, choped peanuts etc.
MoreThis restaurant has the absolute best spring rolls!! I cant stop thinking about them, they are delicious 😋
MoreVery good food every time we go and great service. The spring rolls are delicious.
MoreThis is the best restaurant/food in all of Prince George. I went often ever since they opened over by the 7-11 and of course in the location they are in now. Weve recently moved but Ill go there lots when I go back for visits.
MoreDefinitely not a fan of the bland food and how they try and make it appear to be authentic. The waitress was very good with service but the food is by far not worth the $$$ they charge. Not sure they would even survive in a food court.
MoreLovely Vietnamese food, they have been consistently wonderful for 20+ years! Personal favorites are spring rolls, salad rolls, wonton soup, and deep fried banana but everything is good
MoreIt has been years since I moved and was so glad to see the Thanh Vu still open. After lunch it confirmed why Thanh Vu was one of my favorite restaurants. I travel a lot and this is still one of the best Vietnamese restaurants.
MoreWhen we moved to NEBC bazillion years ago (😁), there was no pho place but at 1 restaurant and it wasnt good at all. We drove to GP, Alberta with full of hope, but there werent any as well. Fast forward to 2013, I was pregnant and craving like crazy but lazy to prepare myself. So, dear hubby packed us and we drove to Prince George 😅 5 H drive so that I could have a bowl of authentic pho and god damn, authentic it was indeed. Thank you to Google search! Soooo good. If you happen to be around the area, give this restaurant a try. Pho is too notch and other menu were tasty too 😍
MoreWas really looking forward to ordering from here, but was short lived. Food was TERRIBLE. No flavor at all, might as well been McDonalds i was eating. And the portions! Jesus! $80.00( plus tipand there was BARELY enough to feed two children and two adults. 3 of which are VERY light eaters. My advice, save your money. They blow.
MoreIm from out of town. A work mate brought me here for lunch one time and now Im hooked. I try to stop in for a meal, every time Im back in town. Great food. Great service.
MoreThe staff here is really nice. They are taking all covid precaution. The food is very authentic and comforting. The portion sizes are pretty big. I would definitely come here again.
MoreI eat at ALOT of Vietnamese places and I was pretty disappointed with this place as the reviews were quite high. I got a pork and prawn spring roll and the filling was not great but what was much worse was the chewy and oil saturated wrapper. The beef noodle soups broth was lacking depth and shaved meat. The spongy meatballs had a weird texture and no taste.
MoreWow!! This was the first time we’ve ordered from your restaurant and I have to say it was fast, hot & delicious!!! Love supporting locally and not using skip! We will be ordering again and spreading a good word 🥰
MoreWhat a terrific place. Even with a patron who is celiac and highly allergic to oranges, they made accommodations and delivered excellent tasty food and great service. Eaten here twice, a month apart. Both times were excellent. Marked it down as a favourite.
MoreComing from Vancouver we were really spoiled with how good the pho is down there and for a decent price. Moving up here and having only one place to get pho was already disappointing (anyone want to go in on a pho restaurant with me??). I have to say though that it’s really too bad how Thang Vu is prettymuch price gouging people for cornering the market. The spring rolls are teeny tiny for the $7+ tax and tip price- and you only get 1. The salad rolls are larger but contain mostly lettuce.
MoreA nice place with very friendly and helpful staff! The veg tastes extremely fresh and crisp. The texture of the spring rolls was different than most. I would go back for sure.
MorePassing through town and wanted Vietnamese. Found this little gem and was amazed. The portions were big and delicious. I had the red curry with vegetables and tofu and a *3 spicy; I like my spice and I could taste the heat but still easily enjoyable on my tastebuds. My brother had the Hot & Sour soup and it was delicious, its one of his favorites. We got the deluxe appitizers with the assorted rolls. It was a nice change from my normal salad roll and spring roll. Definitely recommend you try it out. The staff were short handed but made it clear right away and that she would do her best to attend to us. She did great and we really didnt feel like we had to wait at all. Our food was very fast and hot. A wonderful experience and definitely recommend it.
MoreWe stopped here for lunch on our way through Prince George and we were glad we did. It was great place to have Vietnamese cuisine in an upscale surrounding. They have an extensive menu to choose from. We are a fan of this type of dining, being introduced to it while living in California.
MoreService is always wonderful. The waitstaff is attentive, polite, and always happy. The food is great as well. The beef lemongrass is a personal favorite, while my fiancee is in love with the hot and sour soup. Definitely one of my top 3 places to eat in Prince George.
MoreThis restaurant doesnt disappoint. We had reservations and were seated right away. The server was so helpful, taking our orders, serving our dinner. One of my pet peeves is waiting for a long time to get the bill. She was quick and accurate. The decor is a little outdated but clean. The food - delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection and exactly how we asked for it. This will definitely be regular restaurant for me.
MoreWalked in and was Seated within 10 seconds. Had drinks and menus within a minute. Ordered their deluxe Appy platter and the lemongrass chicken. Was served within 15 minutes and was piping hot. Presentation was Pleasing to the eye. Place was clean, good music. Food was great. I would come back here. Staff is very friendly. And prices are very reasonable.
MoreThis was our second visit. The food was very good. I had the sweet and sour pork with fried noodles, yummy!! Service was excellent as well!
MoreA friendly welcome and nicer decor inside than out had us anticipating a good experience, and we werent disappointed. Got a couple of domestic beers that we enjoyed (one Belgian style wheat and one "dark mild" ale), followed by the rice vermicelli with spring rolls and grilled pork. Spring rolls were meaty instead of being full of filler, and the pork was nicely seasoned. They also had bean sprouts from a local grower - a nice addition to the dish!
MoreDriving through to Alaska and we stopped here, so happy we did! I will dream of this when we are home. We had the fried spring roll and Thanhs noodles. Both were amazing!!
MoreAlways friendly service and good, fresh food. I lived in Vancouver for four years and never found a bettet Vietnamese restaurant down there. The roll platter is delicious and I usually like to order yellow chicken or the beef and prawns (spicy but good).
MoreI absolutely love this Vietnamese Restaurant. The food is always good, the service pleasant and the environment soothing. An ideal place for a peaceful lunch with a friend or a comfortable night out with a whole group of friends and family. A very family friendly restaurant that is perfectly suitable for a business lunch meeting as well. It has 3 floors for dining making it very unique and creating the separate areas that make different dining situations perfect.
MoreThe service here was excellent! The food could have had some more flavour, but it wasnt terrible by any means. The restaurant certainly has a nice atmosphere to it as well, and the prices are fair.
MoreExcellent cuisine, friendly, efficient service, and although a tad pricey, they did not skimp on quality ingredients such as cashews. So a definite place for future meals! Just a note: unlike most Asian restaurants, most plates are for individuals rather than to be shared.
MoreI have never had a bad meal at this eatery. The service is great
Great food, ALWAYS! The hot and sour soup is amazing, as is everything else I have had. The location is a bit tricky if you are unfamiliar with Prince George, but it is worth it to figure it out... use your Google Maps!
