Recommended for trekking lovers🥰 highest waterfall in Tamil Nadu..
@@@ BEAUTIFUL and TREMENDOUS falls in tamilnadu. It has a MAJESTIC view. Which is located at manjalar river, Murugumalai R F, western ghats near manjalar dam.### It is drops from 815 meters or 2673 feets above the sea level. It has 297 meters or 975 feets altitude. If you want to go there you have to walk in hill trails around 2 kilometres from foothills.$$$ Now a days forest department is not allowed to go there. Because there is some wild animals and this is a deep jungle.*** Perumal malai, moolaiyar, pannaikaadu such as hills range places gives sufficient water to the manjalar river. There is High water flow in monsoon time.//// There is a moongilanai kamatchi Amman temple in trail path of this falls. You have to walk in hill trail from moongilanai kamatchi Amman temple for 30 minutes to reach here.+++ You can see this falls from 20 kilometres away in particular place. This falls is called also RAT TAIL falls. Everybody cant go there because the trail path is hard.??? There is one beautiful view point to see this falls at Kodaikanal to batlagundu road. You can see the entire falls view from here.

Sixth highest waterfall of India. It is 297m tall and highest waterfall of Tamil Nadu. It is also known as Rat Tail falls.
Also known as Rat Tail Falls, Thalaiyar Falls is located in the lush green slopes of Palani Hill ranges in the Dindigul District, in Kodaikanal. With a height of 297m, it is the highest waterfall in Tamil Nadu, the sixth highest waterfall in India. There is a view tower in the park at the Dum Dum Rock, from where you can get a beautiful view of the falls and the Manjalar Dam. There is a hiking route near the waterfall. The river water coming to the falls is from Perumal Malai village, through a 9 km downstream and is said to be clear. On the contrary, it may be polluted, and hence, visitors to the area are advised to avoid drinking it.On a bright day, the falls is visible from the Dum Dum Rock viewpoint on the Batalugundu-Kodaikanal Ghat Road; where it appears like a white long and narrow strip of water on a background of the black rock cliff face. According to legends, Lord Muruga used to visit this rock on his way to the Palani Hills. At the top of the falls, at the very edge of the cliff, is a low concentrated wall on either side, tapering the flow of water into a rat tail shape. One can walk along the wall and get to the center of the falls.Right below one of the walls, is a large flat rock, about five ft wide. If one gets down to the edge of this stone, they can directly see a little river at the bottom flowing through the forest. On the side, one can enjoy the calm of the silent waterfall.Hiking is allowed only at the bottom of the falls and that too in the dry seasons. The hike begins at the Manjalar Dam which passes through the mango orchards and potato fields around the Manjalar Reservoir and then goes up along the watercourse to the small temple of Goddess Kamakshi. One must follow the stream after this point. After this point, one needs to climb up the stream, crossing large and difficult boulders until arriving at the falls base. Here, there is a pool of about 30 m (98 ftby 60 m (200 ft). The return hike is more challenging. The full walk covers 15 km and takes an entire day.
Amazing experience I love traveling dont miss this place dear travelers
Very awesome falls tamiladu first height 180ft risky climb experience
Thalaiyar Falls on the Manjalar river in Theni District of Tamil Nadu is the highest waterfall in Tamil Nadu by height 297 metres (975 ft). The horsetail type waterfalls is one of the top 10 highest waterfalls of India by height and a paradise for hiker as a destination because inaccessible to the general public.
You might have heard about its extremely tiring hiking trails but the hardships leads to the most beautiful falls. Gives you one hell of an experience ❤️
Trekking.. go in groups.. wearing comfortable dress... take food and sufficient water bottle...leeches r present so beware..
Forest police are ask bribe to enter this place.. The police constable name is ranjani and another one guy. Worst experience

Its super permission to police 🚓🚨Go to safe
Extremely hard but it was fun. The nearer we reach the fall the harder it gets, it was more like Hill Climbing. Hardcore trekking, need to carry lots of food & water otherwise youll be damned. We couldnt make it to the falls but we were very close, it was just about 2 to 3 hundred metres but it was hard, we had nothing left in our bodies.
Asias first largest falls located on kodaikanalThese falls water stored in manjalar damExtradinary view point

Heaven 😍 One of the best place to visit ❣️ Thalaiyar Falls is around 20 kilometres, from Kodaikanal bus stand ✌️
Hello , Ive planned to visit this falls, help me to reach there. is there a standard trekking route??I will be coming from Madurai.
Heaven 🌨️... Best Adventurous place I have ever seen...But there is no common route to reach that place...the trekking & hiking is very difficult so i suggest you must go and watch with local guide or pre-planned...one more important this is Indias 6th largest waterfalls...
while drive through the road towards kodai , the first seen mind blowing beauty ,one of a WOW factor.
Good waterfalls in between the forest. It has been the origin place of moongilamman form of Kamakshi Amman. Trying going in rainy season. You have to walk in forest. Worth a walk. Try taking a guide with you or else you may get confused on the return. Try to go in early morning so you get enough time for playing. Pack your food. There is no shops available nearby.
I went on a trekking to thalaiyar waterfalls.I really had a good time it was a 5 hours trekking overall.I was accompanied by the local people who is pretty well known with the routes and it was even a spritual trip, best time to visit is during shivarathiri.
One of the tallest waterfalls in Tamil nadu
Beautiful falls. Its view from the kodaikanal road is amazing. One of the tallest falls in tamilnadu. Its altitude is 975 feets. It is located nearby kodaikanal. Everyone cant go there.because it is located in jungle. There is no food specialities. There is one dam in foot of mountain of this falls. This is surrounded by the round shape rock. I never saw any falls like that. It is very nice to see.

Its a nice place, but little hard to reach the falls.. V reach the place via follow the downstream of the falls... In between many huge rocks made the trekking hard & dangerous... Finally after 2-3 hrs of trekking reach the falls, at the time no one was there.. We(4 enjoyed the bathing & take photos then leave the place 😍😍 at return v saw some bisons so better leave the place before 4pm...

Not able to reach the falls, but running water is so good.
I had a unique experience here. I went to the lower part of this falls which can be reached after a long trecking. If you want to enjoy this unique experience, you should start from devadhanapatti and get a localite with you.
Superb view point on the way to kodaikanal. You can see a distant view of thalaiyar falls. Superb view of the waterfall. Looks good in rainy seasons.
