Texas Roadhouse in Gatesville

Its not very often my family and I get to go our to eat. I was employee of the month at the school I work at and received a free entree coupon. We were so ready for a good steak dinner.As we were waiting for our meals, the biggest dang cockroach crawled across our table. I killed it and our chance for a good family meal. Not only did I take a picture of the dead cockroach but one of your staff members.I will never eat there again.

Great food. The service was outstanding! Food was Perfect!Perfect amount and the price for a party of three was unbelievably inexpensive. Fresh food made to order. The bread is to die for

Usually this is our favorite place to eat dinner but the service has really gone down. To begin with they have our table to someone else after the hostess told us to wait there. Then said oops we gave your table to someone else but we will sit you next. Then after 15 minutes they finally took our drink order which took another 15 minutes to get. After we received our drinks there was a hair in the lemon and our silverware was dirty. We received our food and the steaks were made wrong and everything was salty. We were there for 2 hours and our waitress only came twice, it was ridiculous. I will be looking for a new steak and shrimp spot.

Food was great like always. We drive a little farther to come to this location even tho temple is closer to us, we think the service and food is better here. Good service too.

Food was hot and cooked perfectly with the right amount of seasoning. Waitress was very attentive and worked her tables ensuring everyone was taken care and that they didnt need anything else.

We love coming here but tonight left a lot to be desired. My partner’s margarita was overflowing with ice and was gone in like three sips, but he did drink it. When he asked for another he made sure to ask for less ice, and the manager brought it out and we were under the impression she took the first one off the bill because she apologized, and then our waiter brought the bill and it only had the one drink. Then he came back with a different bill with the second drink added, and only a $10 bill for change, which would’ve forced us into a $10 tip, leaving us no other option. So, with the drink added again, there is your tip.I also don’t understand the “on deck” thing. Everyone just stands there awkward, and there’s nowhere to sit. My partner is disabled and had to stand there uncomfortable. It would’ve been easier to just wait in the car until our table was ready.

With all the people out front I knew it was gonna be at least an hour wait.. WRONG! They had us seated in like 5 minutes and our waiter was quick & attentive - couldnt have been better. Got the cactus onion to start it off. It was very tasty; if the dip was spicier it wouldve been perfect! Ordered the 14oz Ribeye steak - med rare, steak fries and a loaded sweet potatoe. Everything was delicious 😋!! So if youre wanting excellent food, service and a great atmosphere then do yourself a favor and go to Texas Roadhouse; youll be so glad you did.

The environment was welcoming, the staff were great, and the wait was relatively short (less than 10 minutes on a busy night). The food tasted good, and TR seemed more than willing to correct any mistakes in the order (we only mentioned one, which was handled immediately without our asking).The only issues I had were the noise (again, a busy nightwhich really wasnt any fault of the restaurant, and that the kitchen was inconsistent in cooking their steaks. Ribs, steaks, shrimp, and a variety of sides and appetizers came to the table. One steak was ordered medium rare, while the rest were ordered medium. Only 2 of them were cooked correctly, with the rest being rare or medium rare.Of course, were all carnivores at heart and had no issues eating them. The rest of the meats were fine, as were the sides and appetizers.Overall, a good family style mid-level restaurant. It stands out among its peers (Applebees, Outback, Chilis, etc...and I would happily bring my family here again. If youre considering a date night here, maybe think again (not that kind of atmosphere).

Gotta take away two stars for the hair in my daughters food. Everything else was great, especially the server!! She was amazing, we had a blast.

Went here after a memorial trying to make a bad day better I Had the steak and shrimp was literally perfect, medium rare a true delightful meal . I must say the blue margarita was absolutely beautiful and tasted spectacular!!! A must try!

This was the Best Visit we had at Texas Roadhouse in Killeen, Texas of all the other locations we have been to. Our food was so delicious and we had a very friendly waitress. What a great experience. If the restaurant stays this way we will keep coming back more often. Loved the food !Keep it up Texas Roadhouse

We were there to celebrate a birthday. We had a server who gave us good customer service. Another customer turned on the ceiling fan and dust flew into our drinks and food. We abruptly left. It was a very unpleasant ending to our evening.

My wife and I shared an excellent meal. Shamel was our waiter with great backup from a helpful crew.We came for the porterhouse steaks at 5 pm on a Saturday night only to find they were already sold out. I settled for the steak kabob and my wife had the New York strip and we were not disappointed.Well be back.

While the staff are wonderful, we are regulars. And everytime we go there, our steaks are never cooked right. They are always undercooked. We do not like the are better steaks being placed on the grill a second time. They always come out worse. We just want our steaks cooked right the first time. So we have decided not to eat there anymore. There are other places better.

I had a group of 9 people to celebrate a birthday. And the only room they gave us was a booth and a small table. Texas Roadhouse was a great place to come and enjoy family and friends. Now the service was ok but not great food was good

We had an absolute amazing waitress tonight. And let me tell you she was busy as hell but still made time to make sure we were ok. The steak was cooked almost perfect medium rare

Great experience overall. Kayla was very professional and helpful. She made great drinks and stayed calm and collected through the impending rush. We always had our glasses filled, and enjoyed the whole experience. She engaged in polite conversation and offered new menu items and appetizers. She also made sure to ask us to cut into our steaks for color check and ensure quality. Very clean restaurant and all staff were friendly and professional. Definitely will return again and again.

When my family and I arrived, we were immediately seated. From the time were seated to the time we left, our waiter Mike was very attentive and very professional. He came by ensured we were satisfied with their services, as well, as their food. The first steak was a different than what my wife ordered. However, they were quick enough to correct the mistake, and made sure she was pleased with her order. The staff were amazing! The dessert was exceptional, and on point which was the brownie with the ice cream. Everyone that worked here made the environment very enjoyable and was ensuring it was clean.

Typically Roadhouse is on point. Went last night and I wasnt too impressed. Our waitress was great and didnt have a problem with her whatsoever. The cook on my steak on the other hand... We decided to go out as a family for dinner and did the online check in. We received notification they were ready for us but still waited 10 to 15 min to be seated after they said they were ready to seat us. We all ordered and it took nearly an hour to get our food. I ordered my steak medium rare and told the waitress more rare than medium. We all got our steaks again after a lengthy wait and the medium well steak my father in law ordered and the medium rare more rare than medium both were overcooked. Also my baked potato with butter only was fully loaded.. anyway i sent the steak back where it took another 20 minutes to get my food back at which the rest of my family was done eating. It was pretty much a bad experience due to the lack of attention to detail. Unfortunately its pointless to even eat when youre wanting to enjoy dinner with your family and the cook fumbles the ball.. I like Roadhouse so needless to say this turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment. 😔

Overall good experience. Checking in we had a wait of about 30 minutes and I was shocked to see that the indoor waiting area had been turned into a to-go area that was closed off. All the waiting guests were outside in 102 degree weather. I went to the car to wait. Perhaps reservations would be a nice idea. The food was good, as usual and the server was great. She was busy but we didnt feel as though we were forgotten. lol. Decent place and nice people fom start to finish. Thank you! Food is good. But between tvs and music and everyone talking loud it was almost impossible for our waitress to hear our orders or for us to hear her. None of us finished our food due to the noise. I had a headache by time we left. Wont be going back anytime soon.

My husband and I had went for date night and had such a great experience! Everyone was friendly especially our server Kiyanna! She was amazing and was on top of everything! Yall got a keeper right there :The food came out so quick which we really appreciated and was cooked perfectly!The girl who took us to our table however wasnt friendly whatsoever and just walked up to random people just staring at them and not asking their name to take them back. Other than the rough start with the girl whom took us to our table the rest of the experience was amazing!

I understand restaurants get busy but I ordered 5 meals and all where burn including the chicken. I order 2 steaks rare and it’s actually more like well well done I order bbq chicken and it’s black yes black then cover in sauce. I pay over $20 dollars a steak for it to be not cooked not even close to what I asked for. My order was a to go order so of course couldn’t sent it back or anything. Hopefully not the new normal because it was an expensive meal that I couldn’t eat and it went to the dogs

It was soooo good. Loved the whole take out experience, from ordering in the app to eating the food. Loved the curbside walk-up. Loved that they ensured I checked the food before walking off with it. Loved the portion sizes. Food was de-li-cious!!! My goodness the sautéed mushrooms were bomb! My hubby and kids were also happy with their food. Plus all that bread I didnt know we were getting! Yummy! Perfection! Will definitely be going back. ❤️

Guadalupe best server we have encountered at this place. We’re regulars and this is a server that shines. I have to say she was the most attentive, friendly server. I really hope she is recognized and praised for how we received service today. Thanks Guadalupe!

Texas Roadhouse is our family favorite. It is a very busy steak house, there is a seating area during your wait. The food was delicious, I had the grilled chicken with sauted mushrooms onions, mixed vegetables, and a sweet potato. My wife had a house salad, BBQ chicken, and mashed potatoes.There is a large bar, plenty of screens with different content being played, as well as country music.

We came to ft. Hood to welcome our son home from deployment. He wanted a good steak so he suggested texas roadhouse. Ive never seen him enjoy a meal as much as he did today. The staff was awsome and super attentive. The bread rolls are so good you better be careful you dont get full on bread. The decor was exactly what you would expect from a texas steak house. Restrooms are super clean and our table was also very clean. As you come in to the restaurant you can see the kitchen staff preparing steaks and other meals through a clear window. Very cool feature in my opinion. Great job texas roadhouse.

Tam is an excellent server!She made sure we had plenty of bread and always checked to see how we liked our food.The manager even came to all the tables to greet customers!

The best thing about the to go order I placed on Sunday was the salad 🥗 and the dinner rolls. The sweet potato was burnt the potato wedges were over cooked the steak was tough. It will be a while before I can try it again

Look I know Im biased, but I really love Texas Roadhouse. I always have. The steak is always cooked to my liking, sides are great, and that bread and butter is to die for. Bring back the peanuts though.

Always enjoy everything about this place. The food is great, atmosphere is great, employees are great. This time, we had Kenya as a server. She was FANTASTIC, and hands down the best server Ive had in a while. So personable, funny, and attentive - all you could need. Ask for her if you come. Thank you, Kendra!!

Went for Fathers day special. Overall it was a good experience. They were extremely busy, which is expected on Fathers day, so I went online to get on the waitlist. There was a alight discrepancy, but it was figured out by speaking to the host stand. We ended up waiting 2 hours for a seat. The server was attentive and helpful. It would be 5 stars, but the steak was not as good as it normally is. Not sure what the deal was, but I wasnt going to make a big deal on a busy day like it was. The chicken ordered was really dry. The flavor was amazing, but it required that extra bit of water each bite. Overall, great experience, front of the house killed it and the back of the house was handling the business considering the amount of work put in.

No pictures guys, sorry.. The food was great though. I ordered the beef tips with rice and Mac n cheese. 🤤🤤.. it was delicious 😋! Only thing though, my food wasnt hot,, hot like i like it,, but i spoke yo the manager and she did offer for them yo "warm" it up, which i declined due to sanitary reasons, But all in all i will be coming back. My daughter had ribs and my son in law had the fish. We were all satisfied, needless to say.

I ordered the half slab of ribs with the baked sweet potato plain. The potato was good but my ribs were over cooked. I didn’t take a photo of it. The customer service was good and the rolls kept coming hot and fresh.

Awesome restaurant, quality food, and big servings make this place worth stopping by. Inside its very homey, clean and inviting. The server and staff are super friendly. The food is delicious and not too expensive, with complementary rolls. They have a few alcoholic drink choices which arent too bad. The only real negative I have is that there can be a long wait time, especially on the weekend. I highly suggest getting an reservation if youre coming by on the weekend or a holiday.

This has been by far the worst visit ever. I did not even get to eat. I will make noodles when I get home 🤦🏽‍♀️ How do you bring me an uncooked 23oz Porterhouse T-Bone that I asked to be medium well. Then you go back and bring me a burnt steak. I understand you are busy as you always are but to tell me it’s because your rushing shows you do not truly care about your consumer. Then give me a dinner for two that total can’t be more than $30 just was an insult as what I ordered was $31 and some change. Make it make sense!!!! Also my drink was messed up AGAIN. Well noodles I’m on the way 🧐Update: Spoke with the manager or hospitality manager Amy and stopped by today 6/7/2022 and the service, food, and drinks were A-1. Our server was Brooke and she did an amazing job. Thank you for a better experience in your establishment.

Great, affordable food! Hard working, friendly staff. I recommend the Beef Kabobs! Marinated, tender, and delicious! Try the green beans. They are very good!Use the app to get on the waitlist before you get there. Itll save time. You can also use the app to pay your bill.It does get loud here. Be warned.

Texas roadhouse has been a favorite of my family and I for over 10 years. We go here quite frequently to dine in, but especially for takeout. The food has, for the most part, always been good and the service is again, for the most part, very nice. I believe it will always be a fan favorite of mine. if you were looking for a little slice of Texas, Texas Roadhouse is the perfect place to go. for the price, its a pretty good deal. Especially if youre coming here for the first time, you wont be disappointed.

Food was good considering its to go. Food was ready close to the time I was given. Just wish they were more generous with side items(loaded potatoes toppings). Very disappointed with the extra shrimp basket which was $6.99 for only 5 pieces. If not for that I would have maybe given them 5 stars.

Had an awesome time and Kenya was the highlight. She was patient and answered all my fiancé questions and was very attentive. The staff as a whole seemed to be very helpful and happy to be there. The food was good as usual so the dinning experience as a hole was awesome.

2/5/22Been trying to go here forever but it’s always a hour and half or more wait, decided to try today and it was only about 20 min wait. My mom had been wanting the cactus blossom, it was good 👍🏽 And those darn rolls with the cinnamon butter omg, addictive. They was fresh and HOT HOT HOT. I had the chicken critter salad, yummy… my strawberry lemonade was delicious, even got it to go and some rolls to go too. Special shout out to our waiter, DahJahn “DJ” was a ball, had us laughing, was super attentive and friendly. Made us feel like we was more then just customers. People like him is what makes people like me want to come back to a restaurant. Thanks DJ. Keep up the good work and keep making folks smile 😊 you did an excellent job with us today 👍🏽👍🏽

The food is better if you dine in, I dont recommend (to gosimply because the portions seem different and the care for the food. Other than that I love the food and selections inside this place, definitely good fun environment for a quick date night out or a family dinner!

Several parties were going on tonight but that did not stop our waitress from doing an amazing job. Our food came out quickly and even though it was crowded the atmosphere was pleasant with laughter and joy. I applaud Texas Roadhouse for providing a nice datenight with the hubby.

Aww man Texas Roundhouse was delicious! First of all, theyve changed there process so that you can do call ahead seating similar to Bubbas. So by the time we arrived and text that we were there, we immediately received a text that our table was ready. Its my birthday and our son is a quadriplegic in a huge wheel chair so they sat us at a nice size table and didnt seat the table behind us so that we could be comfortable. Not only was our waitress outstanding and On it, but the entire staff was very attentive and kept our orders and drinks flowing. All the way down to the extra sauces. Our order was exactly like we asked and everyones food was cooked perfectly and delicious! The atmosphere was incredible as well. The sang Happy Birthday to me and even the other customers near by congratulated me. One of my best birthday outings in a long time.

foods awesome omg loved the salmon the fried onion is amazing my boi friend had a extra rare steak was so yummy and juicy and waitresses are so kind and amazing highly reccommend this place to anymore

It was a little disappointing. Whoever was cooking the steaks was not doing a great job. Had to send a steak back twice. The wait staff was awesome tho.

I huffed and puffed when my wife wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse, but relented anyway. Out of four meals, three came with issues. Wife ordered Country Fried Steak and a brown liquid seeped from the main course. Weird looking, never seen a CFS leak like that. Then the Sirloin Fried Steak came out crunchy, thin, and a little chewy. Finally, our guest, who had never been to TR ordered a cheeseburger, well done. Burger came back red in the center. Served drinks and no refills. We made it known,, and yes they brought out another burger, as we were ready to leave,, and yes they gave a voucher for $15, but where us the Quality Control? 3 out of 4 meals jacked up (my stomach is starting to cramp as I write thisNow when I tell my wife we should go to TR maybe now shell believe me. On the plus side- at least they have employees working, so kudos to the folks for coming in to work. Major props for that and they were courteous.

Wife and I went with our family trying to show them a Texas icon. We all had a really good time the main entrees and the appetizers were awesome the only downside was the sides. The Mac and cheese tasted like box Mac and cheese with no sauce and the other sides were mediocre compared to the main entree like the steak and ribs. Also for being a Texas themed restaurant they had 2 options for local Texas beer which was very disappointing. Overall though good experience and good time there

My second time at this restaurant this month.. We ordered sirloin and prime rib. The food was soooo good. The potato was 🔥hot. Normally when you get a potato the butter takes a minute to melt but today everything was delicious. Service both times was excellent. We didnt have to ask for anything. Kudos to TRH. Ill be back later this month.
