Tetería Almedina - Moroccan restaurant in Almeria, Spain
Super yummy dessert and Detox drink of celery, apple, lemon, ginger and mint. Perfect on a hot day
We tried quite many plates from the vegetarian menu. The dishes were quite good but lacking seasoning. Many of them were not available. They were pretty slow to prepare them so we got one plate at a time. They only accept cash.
I really loved this place it was so quiet and peaceful and the Moroccan female chief prepared everything in the kitchen .good taste it was really nice
My daughter and I had a wonderful meal here. To start we had hummus and bread and then my daughter had pollo pinchitos and I had bastela vegetariana. All the food was freshly made and was absolutely delicious. The famous lemonade was so refreshing. The chef was so welcoming and kind. I would definitely recommend it.
Amazing home-feel, amazing food, comfortable, nice employees. What else could you want?
I liked that it is purely homemade food.
Visited from London and had the lemonade which was quite simply the best thing I’ve ever had to drink ☺️
This was a lovely experience. I would go again in a heartbeat. The ladies who run it are incredibly sweet. The food is so great - it was fresh and authentic.
Friendly people.Nice old quite location.Better visit walking.
Was here for the second time. Still liked the place. It has a very relaxed vibe. The food is good, but not excellent.
Absolutely delicious.Got myself nice and burnt at the beach like an amateur and felt really run down. Happened upon this gem and just felt the food and tea healing me <3.The soup - bessara. NomSalad was lightly and perfectly dressed.Koftas were tasty.Whole meal was lovely and its such a chill place, up a charming little street away from the busy atmosphere. No card machine though - bring cash.No alcohol either fyi.
Cosy, 17€ for the vegetarian menu. Good vegetarian options
Tasty food, great atmosphere, great hostesses, reasonable prices - quite memorable visit! Make sure to bring cash.
The best Tetería. There were just ladies running it... They were so sweet. The teas were amazing and properly served the interior and exterior of the place were lovely. Really enjoyed it :the big teapot is literally massive be careful... Hehe I fancied sweet so the lady recommend me the raifa - very similar to an Indian paratha, served with honey .. Delicious. I wouldnt take the small sweet that they are displaid. I tried but they were nothing special. Go for something out the menu freshly made 😉
Oh my.... What an experience.... Had to wait one hour for the first dish to appear. Took other 30 minutes and my husband’s loud complaint with the only one (!waitress (in a place is as busy as hell). The food was average. My pastilla was too dry, the lamb couscous had “gigot” part of the lamb in it (totally wrong part!), the meatballs didn’t have enough salt in them. The mint tea was extremely sweet. The only good thing was the complimentary dessert (because we complained). They don’t accept cards. The toilet smells of cats pee.
Such a gem and just down and around the corner from the Alcazba. Took the 30Euro 2 person meal and was so happy afterwords. Such a delight to find as our first Moroccan food in Spain.
Amazing, fresh, full of authentic taste food and maroccan tea! As a vegetarian, I highly reccomend this charming, home like place and its hummus, bean soup, maroccan salad, tabbouleh, savoury and sweet paccakes and sweets. My friends and me went there twice during 1 weekend cause it was sooo good! The place itself is really climatic and woman who prepared meals for us were very welcoming, made us feel like home. Higly reccomend!
Good and authentic Moroccan cafe and tea shop with food. We had a lovely mint tea before climbing up to the nearby Alcazaba.
If I couldve kept ordering more food I would have done but theres only so much one person can eat
The homemade juices are really good, every dish was consistently good. It was a lovely setting along the street and shaded well. Definitely worth a visit.
It is a different experience and the little cakes are good. If you prefer no sugar in your tea you need to say so very clearly!
DO NOT GO THERE!!!Worst resturant experience I’ve had in years. I don’t remember service as bad as this in my entire life. We waited for 20 minutes for the waitress to get our order. Then we waited another 20+ minutes to get a jar of lemonade. After ten more my girlfriend finally got her hummus and tabbouleh, two dishes the take about 30 seconds to prepare in a restaurant. She finished both of her dishes, and after almost another half hour I got one of my dishes. When we asked about the second one the waitress just said that they don’t have it, which she could have told me before. I was already angry after sitting there for more than an hour so I asked for the check, and then was told the they don’t except cards. We’ve been traveling around Spain for two weeks at this time and we could pay with card even in the smallest villages but for some reason this terrible restaurant was cash only, which of course isn’t written anywhere. I had to walk to a ATM and pick up some cash ar a terrible exchange rate. We’ve waisted almost two hours on mediocre food in the worst restaurant in Spain. I can’t stress how bad this experience was
The lemonade is wonderful. Service is great, very friendly staff. Loved the experience.
A bit pricey but the food is ready good. Portions are filling and the people are friendly. Make sure to carry cash though.
An absolute gem.A lovely setting, fresh and tasty food, glorious mint lemonade and an incredibly friendly and welcoming team. Us Irish ladies will be back. Soon.
The service was slow but the food was delicious. They dont accept card payments didnt tell us before so make sure to take cash with you.
Authentic tea shop. A real pleasure. Fabulous Arabic pastries. We recommend. Open on Sunday!
Beautiful food and drink in such a beautiful setting. I visited for lunch with a friend and had the medium set menu which was delicious. The mint lemonade was exquisite! Great service too, would highly recommend.
Amazing beautiful place, atmosphere is nice and fresh. The limonade is the best in Almería and probably in the World! Sitio al que vamos los almerienses a merendar de tranquileo. Muy recomendable. Very recommended.
Great little Moroccan restaurant tucked away on a side street near Alcazaba.Delicious food and great service. The mint lemonade is fantastic!
Great place in the old town of Almeria, close to the castle. Home cooked food, really authentic Moroccan.
The Place is hidden but is worth to search for it, the place is manage by Arab Womans and that gives you the idea of the quality of food, delicious!Come and visit, is really worth it!
Excelent food, really good prices. I love the harisa (hot sauce), the kefta, the tajins, the lemonade with menth is incredible.
The desserts and the tea are good, but not recommended for the restaurant. Expensive and not really good, despite the nice service.
Great little secret house that serves traditonal Morrocan food. It is runned by two lovely morrocan women. The price range is reasonable and great services. Its good to call first to reserve if its a special occasion.
Nearly for half an hour no waitress has attended us, the food started coming after another half an hour. At the end of 1 hour and 40 minutes we wanted to say that we cancel one of the plates that still didnt come. We called him and he left the bill and left. The bill included the plate we didnt even recieve after ordering. They said nothing, didnt say "sorry" or anything, they canceled the plate but didnt even respond to us like if they couldnt speak. It is a pity because they have a very sweet place but very poor professionality in attending.
This restaurant is just near the Alkazabra fortress. It is best on the second floor with a view to both fortress and the sea. Just pick up the menu and go upstairs. Perfect place to relax in a hot day. Delicious kuskus!
This restaurant is lovely, the staff were so helpful and the meal was amazing. Morrocan food and lots of it. Very reasonably priced
Wonderful place providing various cosy seating areas and terraces with stunning views on either the local courtyard garden or the fortress. Pastries are exquisite along with the local lemonade.
Lovely food cooked to order, so not a place for a quick lunch. Pleasant staff with limited English. But the food is good.
Both the views and the food are awesome ! Highly recommended the lamb with cuscus .
If you want to taste authentic moroccan gastronomy, this teteria (which actually is a restaurantwill delight your taste buds. The friendly place definitely worth a visit !
Nicely decorated. Cosy terrace with good views to the Alcazaba, specially during sunset. Recommended if youre in Almería and fancy trying something different. 👍
Loved the green mint tea. Loved the Moroccan salad. Hated with a vengeance, the terrible chicken cous cous. It was quite honestly embarrassing. It was extremely bland, I’d say tasteless and the ‘sauce’ accompaniment was a very thin, water-like consommé. Not what I expect for this type of dish. For someone who loves cous cous, makes cous cous whenever possible, seeks it out whenever possible, I can say with conviction that this is the worst cous cous I have ever had.
The food is FANTASTIC! My wife and I ate here and absolutely loved it. It takes a little while, as it is clearly made fresh, but it is so worth the wait. The people who own/run the place were also very kind and the service was good.
Very slow service but if you wait the food is worth waiting for as home cooked and delicious. The mint lemonade is incredible especially on a warm night it is worth coming to Almería just for this lemonade lol.
Horrible service. Not recommended at all. After waiting for more than an hour, my friend asked the waiter to check on our order, not once but twice. He told us they hadn’t even started to cook it and they had to prepare two tables before us (at 11:40 PM when the kitchen was about to close). Therefore, we decided to leave the place because we were starving and we didn’t want to wait for another hour. The waiter gave us a dirty look and didn’t even apologized. He just cared about charging the bottle of water we had.A place like this should be more professional and have a better customer service or at least a little bit of courtesy.
Only a brief visit however very comfortable, and traditional looking. Great lemonade made to their secret recipe, with delicious sweetmeats. Would love to go back when we have more time.
Waited almost an hour for our food. Think they forgot our order. Waitress went off duty at the busiest time and waiter took over. He was very nice and apologised. Tagine of lamb very fatty and lamb couscous was tasteless. Lemonade was nice. 6.50 a litre. No alcohol served. Would not be back
Excellent food, friendly service, chicken shish kebab was delicious, and bread they bake was the tastiest bread i had in years! The lemon-mint lemonade is a-must to try.
