Terrassa Cafe Khiva, Chiva 220900, Uzbekistan, Juma
Terrassa Cafe - Cafe in Juma, Uzbekistan
Great for sunset! Delicious tea!
Would highly recommend! First of all, they have the only good coffee in Khiva and tasty deserts to go with it The views are gorgeous (and downright magical in the evening). The shashlik were incredible! Probably the best we’ve had so far. The rest of the food was decent. They get super busy in the evenings so make sure to book ahead.
Very nice staff. Good food and amazing atmosphere. Just had some coffee and cakes and it was very tasty.
Fantastic food. We had beetroot salad, kebab and steamed dumplings. Everything was super tasty (dumplings to die forand service was very efficient. As far as I am concerned, the best place to eat in town
Great views from either the rooftop or 2nd floor indoor dining room. I went a couple of times for lunch or just for an afternoon beer and getting a table was no problem. Besides good food and enjoying a beer of the old city, what really makes this place great is the staff and service. Everyone we interacted with was very attentive to making sure all was okay (need another beer? Need a blanket to keep warm on the rooftop?). Definitely worth a stop if you are in Khiva and want great service and a view as well.
Ate there a few times, good food and pleasant staff
Definitely on the expensive side but really worth it. The flavor of the food was amazing, best in Khiva so far for us. The exclusive tea, much more expensive than the regular tea, was very flavorful and worth it too. Highly recommend the fried noodles.
Although very touristy, wouldnt describe it as a tourist trap, because what they offer is decent (compared to other local places). The food was quite good. Expensive for Uzbekistan but to be expected in the location. Amazing view from the terrace. There is WiFi but the signal is weak from the roof, so better to stick to the middle floor if you need internet. They accept card, and the service charge is 10% but it is stated on the menu. When we asked them to bring all our dishes at the same time they did so, which we havent managed to achieve in any other restaurants here so that was great! Overall, the best option in the area. We paid around 18$ for a meal for two including service and a drink.Insta: @annatromps
Friendly reception and fluent English waiters. Food was excellent.
Best view and food in Khiva. Only place with decent cappucino.
From the limited dining option in Khiva, this restaurant is the best. You will find the same menu here as at every restaurant in town, but it’s all done well. The local dill noodles were the best I tried. However, it’s the view from the top floor terrace that really seals the deal. Best to book ahead in the evening for a guaranteed place.
At night we had shashlik, and it was good. Service was prompt even though it was very crowded. However, we went back for lunch yesterday, and our order didnt come for over an hour! Others came and ate while we waited, and the pilav was undercooked.
The food, especially the Lula kebab the service the view and the music excellent
This restaurant has the best view in Khiva. Make a reservation if you want to eat at sunset. Although very touristy, the food prices arent any higher than other food options. The menu is somewhat short but everything was wonderful. The staff speaks English well. They were one of the few restaurants that take credit card.We ate here 3 times during our stay. With the best view, good food and reasonable prices, I saw no reason to change. Also, we had issues with food poisoning throughout Uzbekistan but not here so it felt safest to stick with one place.*Tip - My favorite spot to sit was the small terrace (3 tablesaccessed by passing through the indoor dinning area. The tables were shaded and all had unobstructed views. On the top terrace, you could get stuck a few tables deep.
One of the few places in Khiva that understands and offers vegetarian options. The vegetable soup is quite delicious. Some of the waitstaff speak good English. View is amazing as others have mentioned. Reservation is needed for sunset dining, alternative is going to Khiva House next door who share the same menu/owner and also has a rooftop terrace and is much less crowded. Friendly service. Prices are reasonable for Khiva standard.
Great view but super touristy. You have to tolerate a clarinet player who performs super cheesy pop hits very loudly most of the time. Not comming back.
Such a beautiful and delicious restaurant with normal prices. The service is good, the view from the top is amazing. Especially recommended to come for dinner. We visited this place once and came again next day. It is quite crowded so its better to reserve a table in advance.
We ate here in the evening and managed to secure the last available table by popping by at 6pm to reserve it. Many people were turned away, it was a Sunday evening so I don’t know if quieter on other nights but recommend booking in advance. As vegetarians we enjoyed the vegetable grill.
Book ahead for a table on the terrace at night. Beautiful sunset view and food was decent.
Very very nice restaurant, we tried twice! The food is delicious and the staff is great! The lady who served us was extremely nice and once we come back second time, she remembered us and offered us the salad. We tried 4 different dishes and they were very delicious! Highly recommended!P.s. Remember to book as they are often fully booked :)
Amazing setting. Book in advance for a rooftop table. Live clarinet added to the amazing atmosphere
ok
Amazing view of the old city, even better at night. Is expensive by Uzbek standards but food is very good.
Expensive prices but bigger and better presented portions, quite touristy, nice view, the guy that plays clarinnete is unnecessary. Ok-ish.
Great views from the rooftop terrace at sunset and into the evening. To be certain of a table you need to book aheadIt is a tourist trap, perhaps justifiably considering the position and views, and prices are set accordingly. The food is excellent though, although the service seemed somewhat harried.Recommended for one night of your stay in Khiva.
Really good food, im indian and i asked for extra spicy, and its worth it.
Food was decent, they have an excellent view of the city.
Food ok, portions small and quite a bit more expensive. Veg friendly and good service, probably its strongest points.
We tried lamb shashlik, green noodles, noodle soup with meatballs and assorted dumpling platter. All dishes were excellent. Yes, service can be a little slow but you have an incredible view to look at while you wait. Would come back!
View from terrace is magnificent. Staff are friendly. But dishes are tasteless. And some of theme were cold ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Best food I had in Uzbekistan!♥️ I recommend trying the shared plateau consisting of 8 of their best traditional dishes!
The view from this restaurant’s terrace is absolutely worth it; hence the 5-star rating.Food is decent, choices are varied. Waiters took a long time to take our order, once taken however, the meals were ready after less than 5-10 minutes - a bit too fast maybe? Purely culinary speaking, I would have given it 4 stars.I’m not a fan of live music entertainment and as we were leaving, they started a little violin show. (Maybe this is a cultural thing where locals actually do appreciate this?)
Very nice restaurant, stunning view at sunset and when the surroundings light up at night. Some of the food we ordered never arrived, but that stuff can happen I guess. 10% service fee, very reasonable
Best restaurant in Khiva. Every staffs are kind. Food are so nice
Just got lucky on a Wednesday night. Came in and found a perfect spot on the top floor. While ordering I was warned my food would come in 40mins, but all was served in 10. Just amazing
Terrassa Cafe might look like a touristy place. The truth is the you can actually have a taste of a wide variety of both traditional and re-invented recipes while enjoying a spectacular view over Itchan Kala. Vegan and vegeterian options available. Been there three times, twice during evenings during which they played live music and boosted the atmosphere. Absolutely recommended.
Quality and tasty food at a reasonable price. Can highly recommmend the Mostrava soup, and thd Khiva green noodles. Try eating here close to sunset, but reserve in advance as it can be full
Wonderful restaurant and cafeThe owner is very helpful and kind.Has an amazing viewTasty foodDon’t forget to make reservation. It is always fullA must in Khiva
The food is quite good... if it ever comes. The first time we went, things were good.Unfortunately, the second time we waited 2.5 hours (12 - 2:30 pm, so not even outside mealtime), and our food never came. We left hungry.
One of the good resturant in Khiva! Amazing view from Teracca and from balcony. Everything is perfect but..prices are very expansive!! Its more than another touristic restaurants in the city.I need to tell same EXPANSIVE for tourists and for local peoples. Also, they have very low service i ordered food from Terassa Cafe to my hotel (distance just a 2minuter between my hotel and terassaso they told me wait a 15minutes.OK i waited more than 15 actually it was more than 25 minutes but i didnt got my food!! And then i called them to tell them about my order...
Worth the extra expense for great views of the old town. Service and food are also worth it. Try the green noodles!
Very good food with amazing view. A bit overpriced as for Khiva, yet it is still pretty cheap as per Western standards.
Stunning views on the old city and great food. The location is surely worth the visit as you can admire the unique architecture of Khiva from the roof terrace.Staff are very kind and helpful with menu available also in English. The Shashlik for 2 persons is exceptionally good, tasty and superbly presented.
Best place to watch sunset in khiva!! Foods and masala tea is so good..price a bit steep but this as expected because there really have nice terrace to enjoy sunset.. Service is bit slow as the same anywhere in Uzbekistan..Keep calm and enjoy the beauty of sunset !!
Delicious food and the best vantage over Khiva! The rooftop terrace is lovely on a hot day, with ample shade and stunning views over the main square. Its a lovely, family-run place with great local food. Pumpkin manti is highly recommended 😍
Fantastic view at sunset. Get there early bc it fills up fast. The kebabs are all really good as well as the beef noodle dish. Prices are a bit higher here vs other places but imo it’s worth it.
Great location for a sunset dinner. This restaurant is within the walled city and a tourist spot so their prices are reflective. The food was good not great and their service requires some attention. DON’T order the masala chai tea. It is weak. Go for the views, the food and service are bonuses.
Reserved a 8pm front row balcony table at 530pm when we walked past. By the time we sat down, the balcony was full. So make reservation. Food was okay, not great. But we were there for the view. Not expensive. Sun set with beer.
Delicious food!! :D especially the pumpkin baraka. The view is great, the prices higher than average but worth it.
Best views in town- great tea selection and good food
