Terapija Vegan Cafe - Vegan restaurant in Jūrmala, Latvia
Terapija Vegan Cafe in Jūrmala
Description
Privilege
A little bit outside the city centre you find this "famous" spot for vegan mainstream food like burgers, wraps, falafel. A good place for omnivores, too, who like to ease into a vegan diet. The "Terapija Megaburger" with jackfruit, wasabi and mayonaise, pickles and veggies was really tasty and filling. The potato buns with zour cream and tapioka caviar you can see on the photo in the front looks pretty but was a disaster. Also they forgot the dressing on the salad.>> To be honest: This place is overrated, period! Snooty tribe over here, tables and floor were spoiled with drinks and food, arrogant staff. There are much better vegan restaurants in downtown Riga.
MoreI really like the idea of offering only vegan food, but if Im being totally honest then Ill have to say that quality is gradually decreasing.Prices are only a little bit above average, but if we take into account also quality and atmosphere (like a cheap dinnerthen it is quite overpriced: burger costs 5 - 8.5 EUR. Thats for just a burger, no fries + sauce (+2.5 EURand no drink (starting from 1.5 EUR).I have tried 3 or 4 different burgers - most of them were below average and 1 was REALLY bad.Whats more, there is no option to get regular fries or even just normal potato "slices", only option is sweet potato. Sorry, but they arent even close to regular fries - moist, soft, no crisp. Not a burger material! For me it seems that this place has become "lazy". Either way, I wish you the best and hopefully I wont be disappointed next time I will visit!P.S. Last time I waited ~1 hour and 40 minutes for a meal. When ordered I was told that it will take 40 minutes max. Of course, no information and no apologies from the staff.
MoreI wish we found this place at the beginning of our trip to Latvia, we would have a lot more opportunities to try their delicious meals! An absolutely amazing place, a must go for everyone, regardless of taste preferences.
MoreIn 99% fantastic delicious vegan food. This 1% maybe not delicious just for me, but the combo of products makes specific taste or/and strange herb combinations or just not delicious soya. But in all 99%its fantastic. There is lunch offers- what is a big bonus. Now- just take away, while here is epidemic situation in country. Lunch offer- soup+ 2nd meal or thempes salads or sandwich. 2nd meal - there is fresh delicious salads, some kind of protein and something warm. In menu another food and cakes also! P.s.for someones stomach lunch offer can be too big, but there is possibilities take away always.
MoreWeve been there for the first time. My husband isnt vegan or vegetarian. But we liked the food very much. On thursday 2pm. there were lines. We took daily soup + main dish, and it eas enough! The food is really tasty. Recommend.
MoreExceptionally good food, and I not even a vegan. It is worth the detour from the city centre.
MoreGreat food. There is many cakes to choose from.
Loved the place previously, but last time I have waited for a simple salad 40 min and lady told me I have to wait for 15 more minutes!!!! I was forced to cancel my meal, since I never ever waited this long for a salad and simply did not expected to be this long . And a place had just 5 customers inside. Strange. And really a pity.
MoreHad some sandwhiches and rolls. Good tasty rolls & sandwich for a acceptable price and friendly staff.
MoreVery tasty, big portions!💚 I recommend going here even if youre not vegan, the food here is healthy and good for you.
MoreVery impressed, so good. Mango curry and soy chicken with potatoes, sauerkraut and some green refreshing sauce. All perfect to be honest, my gf is vegan for three years and she is from UK where Veganism is way more developed and she was still very impressed. I eat meat normally but that chicken was so real 😀 9/10 not the best selection of deserts though hence why 9/10 almost forgot veggie and fruit mix juice is a must try but could be served cold.
MoreVery cozy atmosphere and the food is fantastic. Came without expecting anything crazy but the result surprisingly exceeded expectations. The location isnt the best but everything else easily makes up for it. Would love to come back again.
MoreHaving regular lunches here even though not being a vegan. Great food, atmosphere and music.
MoreI love beetroot and this cake combines the night shades sweetness with coco cream. The mango curry was also a winner at 5,5€ and heartily portioned. A big Paldies to the friendly staff who spent a whole 5 minutes, looking for a jar so that I could take a sauce with me. Now I have a nice jar to keep along with the memories of this must-eat at vegan restaurant.
MoreIf I could make as tasty vegetarian meals I would certainly be part of this community! Not all is perfect to my taste buds, as I am regular visitor here, but certainly worth to try every new dish they have! Hope you will stay as good :)
MoreI wanted to really like this place as it is a one of rare vegan restaurants in Riga. It is always nice to see places fully committed to the special dietary requirements. My experience started from the very moment I entered. There was no one behind the counter I could ask about the reserved table. One guy came over took something and left again. I had to wait for him to return and start a conversation first before I got sited. I wasnt given a menu either. The menus are located next to the bar and you have to pick it up yourself. Menu is very good. There many options all of which are decided into appropriate groups - breakfast, lunch, main, salad, etc. On the other side of the menu were drink. It was great to see many locally made sodas and drinks as well as traditionally made with animal products drinks being vegan. When I came to order I was informed about the waiting time is 40 minutes because 8 people just ordered. It didnt matter if I was ordering starter or a main. I ordered 5 minutes later. I was ready for the 40-60 minutes waiting as have been told. I wasnt ready to wait the same time for the tea. It took about 25 minutes and I had to remind a waiter about it.Either way when the food came I asked to confirm that dishes they brought are the right ones. I have been told that it was indeed a miso ramen. Later, after the taste test, I realized that it was a different soup. My tofu burger with a wakame was disgusting I didnt realize until then that I dislike something so much. Proportions were unbalanced and it didnt look presentable, it just slided into to parts as it was put on the table. Portion of fries was made badly and wasnt the fries I ordered. Dill sauce was too thin and tasted of nothing. Falafel burger order by my brother tasted of cardboard. It was all handmade in the kitchen. I have never expected to say that I would rather eat the same products bought in the cheap supermarket. The best part of the whole dinner were nachos which were just really hard to f*ck up and a tea that came late.In summary service was slow and plain bad, there just isnt enough stuff (or enthusiasmto do the job right. Food is worse than average with some option being plain inedible. There is plenty of choose on the menu so I expect there is something worthwhile but 4 out of 5 dishes I tried were very bad. It is upsetting to see a restaurant that represents vegan population to have provide such a terrible experience. Shame.Dont recommend.Dont understand how you got the rating you got.Stop making food please.
MoreThe food is a flat out 5 star. Service and decor need about 30% more effort and this would be a 5. Definitely worth a visit though. Big props to the chef, they know their spices!
MoreWhether you’re looking for vegan/vegetarian food or just a nice meal that’s going to leave you feeling good, this is the place! The food is incredible, very good quality and so fresh.Sadly the place itself wasn’t very warm and cosy and could do with a lick of paint/rearrangement, and the staff could be a little more friendly. However, I would definitely go back for the food and would definitely recommend 🤩
MoreGreat vegan food and drinks, good choice, lots of cakes. Good quality food. Really nice. You order at the counter and staff is nice. They also have a menu in English. Cozy ambient, friendly. Loved it.
MoreThe food was perfect. Good portions, fresh ingredients and low prices. The staff however was not really friendly and personally I did not like the tiles. But dont skip this amazing vegan restaurant for these reasons. It is a bit of a walk from the city centre but I would highly recommend. Try the Shwarma Dish.
MoreOne of the worst vegan places I’ve been before. Fat soaked fries combined with the cheapest ingredients on a burger I’ve had so far. This was so unlovely. Stuff is rude as well. No smile, never to any customer that came in in this hour . Food took 30 minutes for just a burger .... not really clean tables and interior. Kinda hipster but just a try to be ....
MoreThe food here is amazing! They have a great lunch meal during the work week. We came here a few times during our stay in Riga and all of the meals I tried were tasty. They also have herb-infused water available for free which is a lovely bonus. Now, the cakes! I alway tried a different cake when I came and theyre perfect!
MoreOne of the best vegan places in Riga. Definitely worst to visit.
Best vegan Brunch and Dinner in the world! I live in Berlin where we have so many amazing options, but this is just amazing. Have been here with non vegan and vegetarian friends - all of them loved it so much. I‘ve been here 3 times yet. If there‘s a reason to travel to Riga it is this vegan restaurant! I LOVE it! Total recommendation!
MoreReally good food with big portions :we were very happy. I am totally not a vegan or vegetarian , but this was a very nice experience. I like to try out something different, especially when its that tasty.
MoreTasty food with good prices! Also, nice environment, friendly staff!I ordered the daily soup + main course. I was super full after finished them all! I would like to go back here for the cakes next time!!
MoreFree water, value for money, professional service, calm soft music, somewhat chilly interior. Miso soup tastes more like Tom Kha soup, a bit too sour for me. Banana cake is great!
MoreAbsolutely delicious. I am not a vegan nor vegetarian and still I enjoyed this place a lot. Lunch menu for 5 euro included a great onion soup and tasty polenta with squash. Fully recommend.
MoreNot sure about the meaning of the name of this place, but the vegan food is surely therapy for mind and body! The soup called miso with mushrooms contained plenty of crispy fresh veggies and is a bit a mix of miso and a Thai soup, delicious. The mains were the warm vegetable salad and the mango curry and both dishes were gentle of taste and with enough character. The space is nice, ambiance good, nice music, friendly staff and very fair prices... what more does one need to leave satisfied?! Sadly enough no space for a vegan cake, as the choice is huge and they look delicious too.... you don’t have to be vegan to have and enjoyable meal here 😉We went three times and they never had the daily soup. So we think the daily soup is more of an occasional soup 😅
MoreDelicious and creative food, even if Im not a vegan, love eating here. Daily offers portions could be a bit bigger, but otherwise perfect! Definitely recommend trying cakes. Thanks for having also gluten free options!
MoreI am not a vegan, but this place is great. I took a falafel burger filled with pickles, tomatoes, hummus and onions and it was truly delicious and really big. I would not recommend adding fries though as they were a bit too wet and not crunchy at all. They also have a good selection of Latvian craft beers. The atmosphere is relaxed but do not expect anything fancy. The prices are very attractive - 5 EUR for the burger (without fries)Overall - highly recommend for both vegans and carnivores
MoreWe had about 7 kinds of dessert, carrots cake was nice as always, coffee cake was so nice...my favorite was banoffee!! so special and memorable 😋Nice stuff and atmosphere
MorePerfect for vegans! A great variety of dishes at affordable price, weekend brunch highly recommended:)
MoreI am positively surprised. I really like meet foods and I dont visit vegan cafes. But here food was so good that I am starting to think that I have to switch vegan😁 I am sure that everyone will feel eaten after visiting this place.I picked lunch offer with spinache soup and in second dish, smashed potatoes with carrots and cabages. Such offer cost 4.70 Eur. Be aware, you cant pay here with card only cash! They have really good looking deserts as well, but I wasnt able to find place for that.
MoreAlthough I’m not Vegan nor Vegetarian - this place is amazing! Was a bit sceptical at beginning since its vegan place, but food was super delicious. Not even mentioning cake - Turkish peas and peanut butter- that was something!Price is okey for me as local person. Probably cheap for tourists.
MoreI had the €12 brunch and it was delicious. Water included, other drinks you have to pay extra. There was a great selection of bread, soup, salads and deserts. Great value for money!
MoreWent twice when visiting Riga. First day we had the tomato bruschetta, a burger and the soy fillets from the menu. Everything was really good! The second day was even better. We went there for the Brunch they had. Enough variety to keep you happy, all very well done, homemade and non processed. Really good taste on everything, great vibes, a lot of families and really nice music.Definitely recommend it if youre visiting, remember to take cash!
MoreVery Vegan. Cake was fenomenal, but I would say that service could be better. Lady at the counter was to angry for a happy Vegan people.
MoreA pleasant atmosphere and an interesting choice for dishes. I was surprised how much dishes such as burgers and suṣhi taste like the the ones made from animal products. The quality of food was also perfect, everything was fresh and well cooked.Thank you for free drinking water instead of the usual EUR 1.00 for 0.5, would be nice if other places take an example from “Terapija”. I will certainly return to taste other dishes as the choice is quite large and varied, which is also very pleasing. Thank you!
MoreExcellent place! Many tasty things, the tortilla is great. Also on Saturday and Sundays there’s a branch from 12 o’clock, personally think the one on Sunday is better usually, but both are definitely worth coming for. The chocolate cake is just amazing.
MoreAn excellent place for a wide selection of vegan foods. They offer lunch, dinner and on the weekends also brunch. I especially recommend the tempeh salad. The interior is also quite nice and has a good vibe to it.The dishes here are fairly cheap, but there is one downside in that they do not accept card payments.
MoreBest vegan cafe ever! Their lunch menu is scrumptious, nutritious and affordable and theyll give you an even bigger portion for just a bit more. Their wraps and burgers are a mouthwatering delight and the brunch buffet on the weekend is simply awesome. And their desserts are to die for! Also, dont forget to try their tempeh, tofu or vegan sausage sandwiches!Theyre very friendly, the greenhouse/lounge-like interior is simple, yet stylish and comfy, and the music is funky, fresh and/or chill depending on the time of day. This is the one place you shouldnt miss while youre in Riga.
MoreAbsolutely delicious, some of the best food Ive ever had! Only in Riga 4 days and Ill be hitting it twice and bringing fellow travelers along the second time! Went for the buffet brunch the first time and paid a fair price for unlimited absolutely amazing food! The seitan was the best, and the pumpkin mango pudding, but literally everything was beyond amazing. Can not go wrong, worth heading out of traditional tourists Riga!
MoreGreat food, amazing service and trendy interior. They also have a wide selection of vegan cakes. Amazing prices for such high quality food. Saturday brunch can be a bit pricey but its an all-you-can-eat type of thing. Can be hard to get a seat sometimes as this place is obviously loved by both locals and tourists.
MoreVegan place in Riga. Price and quality good match. Music is always nice. Please note it is cash only!! Good choice of cakes, but on Saturday usually no spots, so make a reservation. They make cakes on order, good service. Being a vegan, I love this place.
MoreReasonable prices for a brilliant array of different vegan foods. Appears to be off the beaten track if youre travelling in Riga, but is worth it to try some of the delicious food on offer. The food was top notch and the servings were very generous. We could barely move we were so full afterwards. The service was also very prompt, once we ordered the food was ready within 10 minutes
MoreDelicious vegan food and great aesthetics. It started raining while I was there and I had to take a picture 😊
MoreVery delicious meal. The soup was spicy, salads were massive and dessert was super delicious. Definitely recommend this place for those who are searching for something refreshing.
MoreJust lovely place where you can enjoy vegan food for reasonable price. Food is great and there is something for everyone. Healthy snacks or big fat burgers - its up to you! I love the daily soup there. Also, its dog friendly, they have board games and free wi-fi. Only thing you have to keep in mind - CASH ONLY.
MoreBig portions, tasty food, low prices. Perfect!
