Teotenango Museum and Archaeological Site - Museum in Toluca, Mexico
Teotenango Museum and Archaeological Site in Toluca
Description
Facinante
MoreIts a beautiful place by the ancients! One problem you will have to walk up it probably takes 5 minutes to get there but its worth it theres also a museum at the main entrance where you park your car. Its worth visiting It will explain the ancients. Its worth it in my opinion.
MoreSprawling site with multiple levels. It was fun to explore and climb around. You can see the valley below from all different directions. Charming and free!
MoreIts a very nice place - bigger than expected, quiet. It has been views of the city and many pyramids. As far as Im aware, theres no entry fee and no actual entrance or staff around. Theres no signs leading up to it.
MoreGreat place to visit. Very calm and quiet.
Best of the Best
Super. !
This site has been restored and gives you an excellent idea on how it was during the Teotihuacans time. Lots of parking and it is clean with wonderful views of the Toluca valley. It is safe and its a 20 min drive from Toluca. On the way there at Calimaya make a stop and eat barbacoa at "el carnalito"

Wooow!
nice place , full of history the voluntary guy explaining the history of the place is funny and has a lot of knowledge
MoreAwesome historical site, and a great climb
Immense complex of structures on an elevated plateau overlooking what would have been irrigated farmland. The site is only very partially excavated as the larger part of the site is still farmed or used for animal grazing and is off limits to visitors.

Historical, nice to visit .
Very cool place. Pay the guide -- he costs 300 pesos. Hes very knowledgable, charming, and made the trip really fun.
MoreI remember visiting this place when I was in 5th grade,(long time agoand it was one of my greatest memories, so I returned after many years to find the place as nice as I remembered it,Is a big and nice archaeological, one whit well cared and preserved pyramids and a great site museum, you can explore the entire area at your own pace, and admire the views from the top, the walk from the parking lot to the zone might be a challenge for some people but is worth the walk. Spend as much time as you want and enjoy this gem.The museum gives you a glimpse of how the people lived on those days and is well kept, explained and it has some amazing pieces, like the obsidian mirror and the wooden drum, we visited when the archaeologist where cleaning and cataloging some displays and he was kind enough to show us his work and see close up some amazing pieces. This place is highly recommended and I will visit again with more time to spare.Enjoy

Beautiful place to visit if you ever go to Tenango!
Amazing set of ruins above Toluca Valley , reminds me of Machu Pichu
Amazing place
The ruins are very nice and there arent any people trying to sell you things. All tourism is local tourism and the town centre is quite folkloric.
MoreHuge area to walk around and embrace the landscape. Not many tourists.
Good to reach, impressive surrounding ...
