Tel Lachish - Archaeological site in Rosh Ha‘Ayin, Israel
Great site, lots to see. If they put in a rest room, the site would be perfect; it needs one!
Welcome to Lackish guys
there are ancient Lachish facilityes, and you can get cooled tap water for tired tourists.
Visitors center still under renovation but the tel itself is open 24 hours and definitely worth a visit.
Amazing history!
Nice lookout after a short walk. Free entrance.
Need to use your imagination utilising the splendor of its geographical position
This site is really well done. I heard that when they finish it up theyll be charging admission, but for now its free. A highlight to not miss is the couple of viewports they have in signs that let you visualize what the gate and fortifications looked like.
Wellcome to Lackish my name is Rutthawit
Amazing place. No entry fee.A must visit place.
It is a dramatic mound.A simbol for modern sosciety. I bet they thought they will never be defeated. 2000 years had passed over. I got there early so the weather was superb. Now adays the ruler of a distant, eastern kingdom threatens to destroy this place, but I feel a lot of pride and confidence in humanity to allow my children to thrive under the same sun.
Very interesting history there, the ruins are great, informative information available.
Very cool Tel. One of my favorites. Was very cool to see the strategy it took to invade it while being up so high.
Wow what an amazing history. Worth the trip.
Nice walk after Wilson’s dinner
Very nice view and historical restoration. The renovations really make it a great place for a visit.
Ancient fortress on a hill surrounded by wine yards. Beautiful view to all the directions. Comfortable rout for families with kids and people with limited abilities.
A very important part of the Jewish history is accessible on this site. Thanks to park authorities of Israel for the great job done with the archaeologists.
The site is under construction. One of the most important biblical Tel of Israel.
One of the most important points to understand the biblical stories and Israel history
Amazing site, can’t wait to return when renovations are done. The richness of history and the vista are really amazing.
Beautiful 360 view, now under a bit construction
Great weather, great fields this time of the year.
Nice place. Perfect weather in the middle of November
Good view
Just returned with first-time guests who came from the airport and instantly understood they were in the land of the Bible.
Nice walk on a hill. Few real relics. Best in spring not autumn
Ancient Tel dating back to the days of Hezekiah. Absolutely fascinating. Really neat display set up showing all the kings of Judah & the length of their reign. Beautiful views across Israels southern valleys.
Fascinating layers and depths of Israels history.
2nd important city after Jerusalem, not as touristic but full of historical importance.A must see!
The remains of an important ancient city from the time of the first temple. Now you cant see to much, but if you do your homework beforehand, it can be really interesting.
Fascinating and educational. Really enjoyed the detail of the sculpture or information placed up on the lonely hill.
A fortified city from Hezekiahs time.
In case you are looking for very ancient place with really interesting history and breath taking view this place is for you.First settlement here is known from around 6 thousand years BC. High hill, which is remains of a big fort and important ancient Lahish city with easy approach, so it is suitable for families with small children. At the top of the hill you will find some bans with explanations regarding , history of the place and all Hebrew kings, in addition a wonderful view all around.
Nice archeological site currently under restoration. Not yet fully accessable. Id wait until 2020 to visit.
Tel-Lachish takes only a hour and a half to travel up, down and around. The view from the top is magnificent. The archaeology is there but not too obvious. The story is very interesting. A good place for a picnic, a short walk and some ancient history lessons.
A piece of biblical history. Worth a short visit if youre in the area. Nice views
This is a great site! Really fascinating and has been fixed up nicely lately with signs and soon there will be bathrooms. Visitor center and a video at the entrance. When the center opens they will start charging an entrance fee, until then its still free (October 18).
Probably one of the most important archaeological sites in this area of Israel. Its well worth the visit, but you might want to wait at least a year or so because they are opening a new Visitor Center. Once the new Visitor Center is completed and all of the Restorations are done this will be a truly amazing site.
Very well preserved, good information signs on site. Great view and interesting stories. No shade.
There is amazing history here. The soon to be built visitors center will make the area even better than it is. There is the largest standing building ruin from the time of the First Temple!!!
Very beautiful place, historical so it is recommended to take a tour guide.
Very interesting historical sight. No shade at all, take into account when touring on hot days.
This place is awesome! Very peaceful and people are nice
The place is going through maintenance, which fDoes not prevent visiting. Many signs in Hebrew, English, and Arabic explaining the history and the findings were added recently. One can imagine the stress the defenders felt, watching the surrounding cities being concoured one after another, knowing its their own faith they are watching.
a beautiful ancient site, easy to arrive (along road 6 south). while there one can see the remnants of the Israelite fortress which stood against the Assyrian conquest 701 BCE.
There is nothing to do here! You can climb up and watch the near view but that is about it.Better to find a different location to visit.
An amazing place to visit, excellent at night, very romantic. Great view at the stars, quiet.
Nice walk with the children.
Lachish was the biggest city in the kingdom of Judah after Jerusalem, yet fiercly destroyed by Sennacherib in 701 BCE.Dramatic evidence of the 2700 year old battle can still be seen at the site, and with good guidance, a tour to the site can be one of the most exciting experiences in Israel!
