One of the best rest stop in tokyo and Chiba!Lovely ocean view and some nice shops on the 4th floor.Awesome view makes the place a must visit. Perfect area for rejuvenation after a long drive✨
MoreSaturdays and Sundays are as crowded as ever, but there are plenty of seats around the perimeter of the shop floor, so its a great place to relax and enjoy the view of the sea.
MoreSea bridge, half underground and half on sea. This place has awesome view. Man made creation.
Morevery nice fantastic park area chiba and tokyo between the ocean a nice viewing area and recreation center. It is a must see place for anyone visiting Tokyo.
MoreIts a brilliant location. Feel as if in the middle of the ocean. Beautiful! Kudos Japan.

MoreAwesome view makes the place a must visit. Perfect area for rejuvenation after a long drive.
Morevery nice place to stop by, super windy, lots of seafood and souvenirs, and it shows you that you really came from under the sea (or about to if you came from the other side)
MoreGreat place to relax on long trips.
The great resting area for a long driving trip in the middle of the ocean
A beautiful sea view and a good place for a nice Sunset..have some relaxing time sipping coffee on the deck
MoreGreat ocean view from a restroom on the top floor.
One of the best rest stop in tokyo and Chiba! Definitely you should stopover on this highway to see the beautiful view of Tokyo skyline and Chiba skyline. The drill they used is also shown there. It’s very pleasant in summer. A shortcut to Chiba from Tokyo.
MoreAmazing place for a day out. Great visuals. You drive long In a tunnel.Marvelous engineering. You must have a car to reach this place. There are occasional bus services but the frequency is very less.
MoreLove the place to bits and pieces. Its about 25-30 minute drive from tokyo and a calm quiet place to enjoy at night.. breeze flows through. Near by is kisarazu outlet so spending day out there is good 😆😆
MoreVery strange place yet definitely recommended to go once in your lifetime. Beautiful scenery.
MoreNice to stop in the middle of the ocean. Parking is a bit limited... But ...yeah you are in the middle of the ocean.
MoreIt’s the man made island in the tokyo bay which connects Kanagawa & Chiba prefecture. The aqua line is 15.1km long which includes 9.5km undersea water tunnel & 4.4km bridge. You can enjoy various restaurants, foot onsen, theater room there.Be aware of strong wind as it get close & in the peak hours traffic jams!!
MoreInteresting rare spot, worth a stop-by for sightseeing and foods. Pretty windy but exceptional view of surrounding in the middle of the sea. You can visit this place without crossing over the Chiba side, and that will count as one way fare. Food court and restaurants are on 5F, you can enjoy amazing fresh seafood from Chiba here and the price is reasonable
MoreYou can experience an amazing view both sea and sky 🌌. You can enjoy the good food and Starbucks also there for a good coffee ☕️I wish the merchandise shop should be there. But overall it was a good fun day.
MoreCrowded, so tough to park your car, maybe. But convenient place to eat, purchase something as lots of shops, restaurant, souvenir shops are therw.
MoreLovely ocean view and some nice shops on the 4th floor. Highly recommend the bakery for it’s delicious selection of melon breads! Also, check out the short movie on the 5th floor showing how the Tokyo Aqua Line was constructed.
MoreReally cool rest stop to check out in the middle of Tokyo Bay. Only downside is that it is only accessible via the toll road.
MoreOne of the best PA in Japan and the only PA in Aqua Line! Huge parking lot and a lot of stores! I think this is one of the place that one would like to visit to view sunset. You could also see the beautiful ocean, Mt. Fuji, airplanes, etc. from the viewing deck... Whenever visiting or driving along Aqua Line, dont forget to visit this place... worth it!
MoreWhat a crazy and fun little rest area in the middle of the ocean! You can eat, enjoy a little Game Center, or even try the 足湯(footbath). They also have a small museum area showing how this place was built and snacks local to just this artificial island! If you’re driving from Tokyo to Chiba, don’t miss your chance to check this place out! Also, they have their own themed snacks and cakes, even one in the shape of the drill that was used to make the island!
MoreGood place to relax while on way to or from Chiba and Tokyo. Located as a artificial island as the aqua tunnel winds up and emerges from sea , this is good for rest, eat and catch some good sea breeze on way to Tokyo/Chiba. I like the Starbucks located here - relaxing space and view of sea. Other restaurants are pricey and food is bad by Japanese standards. If you are foreign tourist you may not notice that though!
Moreits a good place to have long tunnel ride and even there is a food court and some other things too we went at the night time still it was amazing .but the route map should be clear we need to check.relaxing afternoon time can be spent on a sunny day
MoreInside the bay. you can enjoy sunset. its fees you are on a big ship. Also you can see Mt. Fuji
MoreBeautiful place in the middle of Tokyo Bay. A true engineering marvel and just the right spot in Tokyo for sunset lovers
MoreBeautiful sunset view close from Yokohama area. Horrible if caught in a traffic jam here since there’s no other route to escape but otherwise, worth a visit on a fine day.
MoreNothing feel better than having coffee with so beautiful sunset at this location. This place has open space, food court, Starbucks, and some nice restaurants. It is totally worthy to take a detour and wait for a while for this wonderful sunset.
MoreUmihotaru is a sea bound rest area on the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line that connects Kawasaki in Kanagawa Prefecture with Kisarazu in Chiba Prefecture. As you drive through the tunnel, it rises again to the surface at Umihotaru, and you can stop to take in the view. The rest stop has a unique parking structure that houses five floors of restaurants, shops, and observation decksUmihotarus name means sea firefly. This huge structure has five floors of observation decks, restaurants, and shops as well as unusual architecture. The fourth floor has shops and observation decks. The observation decks offer a windswept view of Tokyo like no other from its spot in the middle of Tokyo Bay. You can see the citys skyline and many of its iconic buildings as well as much of Chiba and Yokohama. The lower three floors, which are for parking, can accommodate about 500 cars and trucks. The third floor has a small museum on the construction of the Aqua-Line and Umihotaru. It is also the home of the Bay FM and Inter FM radio stations.A tower in the middle of the island supplies air to its facilities. It powers the artificial island using the continual winds of Tokyo Bay, earning it the name Kaze No To, which means Tower of Wind.If you are taking the Aqua-Line, Umihotaru is a must-see attraction. You can spend quite a bit of time there eating, shopping, and taking in the views. There are buses that go to the island departing from Kawasaki and Kisarazu stations. Make sure that you check the schedule before planning your trip.
MoreThis place is great one stop shop 。dating highly recommended. It’s my 2x today to stay the whole night together with my family.Where just waiting for the countdown but sad to know the due to the very strong wind,The fireworks countdown was been canceled..but stills we stay inside our car waiting for the first sunrise in 2O2O..Luckily did our Hino de.
MoreBuilt on a 650m island (Kisarazu artificial islandsurrounded by 360º of water, the "Umihotaru Parking Area" is a rather unusual parking area, even by international standards. It stands five levels tall, with parking on levels 1 through 3, and commercial facilities on levels 4 and 5.This is the only shopping mall on the sea where you can enjoy panoramic 360º views of Tokyo Bay, as well as many shops, restaurants and services.
MoreGood view and should be relaxing (weather dependent. Have Starbuck.
The place is really beautiful and is a very relaxing environment. It is literally in the middle of the sea and you are surrounded by the ocean. There are many restaurants, a convenience store and a Starbucks if you decide to have a lunch or even plan to spend a relaxing day out.Overall I highly recommend this place.
MoreI went there after typhoon faxai. Its really cloudy and cool place. Once I imagined the storm, may be scared at Umihotaru. I was amazed thats feeling like I landed on the huge ship and enjoy the surrounding sea side. Theres not much attraction. But if you wanna enjoy underwater tunnel and sea breeze, I recommend this place.
MoreFacility was clean and a good variety of food establishments. The view of the ocean would’ve probably been prettier had it been a sunny day.
MoreFantastic! An Oasis, a pause for some refreshment and relaxation! A destination on its own! Architectural marvel of a highway - under ground and water and above water! The fourth longest underwater tunnel in the world, connecting Kanagawa Prefecture and Chiba Prefecture. Cuts travel time and avoids the traffic jams especially during rush hour.
MoreAmazing architecture and design. A man made island with great selection of food and other attraction.
MoreThis place is a little bit obsolete. The building is somewhat old, and nothing very interesting is available. You can eat sushi, ramen, play games, buy souvenirs, that’s all. This place is kid-friendly.
MoreIs a must visit place for tourist in Tokyo.A man made concrete island shaped like a big ship with variety of shops especially cafés. Connected by underground tunnels and sea surface road.On the roof top has observation deck can see 360deg view of Tokyo Bay.
MoreMarvelous Engineering at its best ! Wow... A Tunnel/Bridge Highway in Tokyo bay connects Kawasaki city and Chiba Prefecture..Umihotaru is an artificial island with 5 floors of restaurants/View area. Perfect place to have 360* View of the ocean.
MoreThis man made oasis was designed like a white ship on the way from Kawasaki to Chiba. Its the whole 5 floor shopping complex with a great view of Tokyo. The ice cream is a must try, so rich and creamy and fragrant.
MoreGreat views, good Sasebo cheeseburger, there is a small upstairs that sells delicious sweet kastela (?Bears. Also dont miss out ok the yummy Kujira goods for sale! Including tasty croquettes.
