Tea Cosy - Tea room in Beverley, United Kingdom
A really lovely little cafe! We live local and for a change, gave up trying to get lunch in the venues on the high street and took a detour to the Minster. Luckily, we passed this little place and decided to give it a try for light bites and tea. The sandwiches and baguettes were fresh and tasty, and the tea was good (Yorkshire and also lemon tea). The whole place has a cute, oldy-worldy vibe and just felt humble and friendly. The staff were eager to help and overall the service was great. We will definitely be returning soon!
Very nice go back again
Awful experience - cheap bread, scant filling; shabby furnishings; broken, cheap roadside cafe teapots which spilled all over the table. Expensive rubbish, wont be going again, plenty of lovely tea rooms elsewhere in Beverley.
Worst cream tea Ive ever had anywhere. Aerosol cream, cheapest flat scone. . Guessing owner has lost interest as its currently up for sale...
This is a tea room with a great location and the rear conservatory and outside terrace are lovely. The cakes and coffee are reasonable. Many of my friends dismiss this place as the front dark and old fashioned cafe room is so different and uninviting compared to the light and spacious rooms at the back. So take a look further inside if the front room isnt your cup of tea 😀
Went Easter Saturday with family over on holidays wrong order came for one &the rest had eaten wen that came ,tea was cold so we asked for more tea &reqested it free as long wait . Tra pots were thick in dust we were given a bill for £46.70For 3sandwiches &tea for 4 twice .wen I went to question it man would not talk to me . In all it was not worth the money &service was so slow .
A gem of a divine cafe that’s close to the Minster and should be a place residents and visitors to Beverley should NOT miss. The cakes look divine, the kitchen is pristine as is the ladies toilet!!We sat in the garden- it was such a lovely summery day though it was late March. The conservatory is comfortable and welcoming and the main cafe has added interest by the lovely selection of photos. The staff go the extra mile too and though iced coffee was not on the menu a glass was made without complaint. Do go and try this charming little place.
Not over friendly staff far to expensive for the small lunch we received
The waitresses are first class polite and attentive.tea and scones cant fault it we enjoyed every minute well done girls.
Friendly staff, cosy environment and lovely fare.
Visited 12/10/21 and I have to say it was excellent. The owner and female member of staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. If you are in Beverley it is a must visit.
Great food and service. Close to the Minster, a little away from the main street but well worth the detour.
If your ever visiting the Minster in Beverley then check out this establishment for a cuppa or a bite to eat,Tucked out the way located on the street opposite the Minster main doors .Through the entrance youll find the dinning room old worldy style with its dark wooden panels & a more modern style down the side through to the rear & outside seating area. The staff on duty were very welcoming & pleasant, theres a good range of hot & cold drinks and nice choice of food options on the menu along with cakes on display .Payment can be made by cash or card. The only worrying problem I could see is the place is up for sale (due to retirement).... .I would definitely recommend a visit to this quiet out of the way "cosy "location
We had a lovely lunch. Quick service. Very nice place and very friendly staff. Definitely visit again.
Nothing vegan at all on the menu.
Good service, excellent food, nice surroundings, not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
Very pleased to go there and enjoy the ambience
Excellent as always anf spotlessly clean. Our favourite place for coffee and cake
Very nice little teashop
Not great, tea served in pot with broken lid, which fell off, food remarkably average. When I pointed out the broken lid to the owner his response was - yes Im replacing them. Will not return.
It was spotlessly clean food was lovely sat outside in the sun truly a lovely cafe
Im not sure how long ago the previous reviews were written , as they certainly dont match up to todays visit , we were a family of 6 ,cream tea ,the scones were soft which were complemented with the jam and cream , the bagette sandwiches X2 were delicious , daughters baked potato with tuna was tasty , decaff tea and lovely coffee ,all served with a smile Ron the waitress, she allowed my granddaughter the time to order her own meal , absolutely perfect end to our few days away to celebrate wedding anniversary . Thank you .
Excellent ambiance and friendly staff
true to its name, its a very cozy place. nice place to sit and have tea, coffee or wine. good food. friendly service.
This will certainly be the last time we visit this tea room after several previous visits. If anything it is worse now than s few months ago.Tea was weak as was the hot chocolate.Cake was dry and at3pm there was a poor choice. The service is poor and staff are offhand and not at all interested. Not worth £11.25 for two drinks and cake!
It closes before tea time! 3pm not 4pm.Why are tearooms not open at tea time?!!!Cappuccino poor. Did not taste of coffee - just hot milk.
Nice atmosphere and lovely staff
Lovely find just down the street from the minster, very spacious inside with seating outside with a view of the minster. The staff were very helpful and service was fast, the cakes were very nice. Will definitely go back.
Terrible overpriced food. The staff didnt really seem to have a clue what they were doing, though they were friendly. The toasties and paninis had barely any filling, the cheese was cheap and rubbery, and the jacket potato was lukewarm! £6.50 for what they describe as a toasty that comes with coleslaw, salad and handcooked crisps is really just two pieces of bread with a tiny amount of filling, about 4 crisps, a teaspoon of coleslaw and one cherry tomato with a slice of cucumber! Dont bother, waste of money...
No butter in sandwiches, well located but threadbare selection. Not cheap either!
Awful service, staff cant be bothered. Just a bad experience. Try to support local businesses but they dont help themselves when they are run by children who dont care
The only slight disappointment for our first visit was that there was no afternoon tea on the menu but it was easy enough to make one up from the menu. The sandwiches were tasty and there was a good choice available. Baguettes, toasties, paninis and salads are all on offer in addition to a reasonable choice of main course dishes if preferred. We then enjoyed our cream scones with jam. We ordered tea served in large tea pots which was hot and refreshing. We were certainly made welcome and the service was very good, the prices reasonable too. I was surprised just how big the establishment was, with plenty of room both inside and out. The décor is traditional, attractive and comfortable. The Tea Cosy is well worth a visit.
Nice tearoom in sight of the Minster. Cosy old front room of the building also a conservatory and seating in the garden which would be nice in the summer. Good for tea and cake or lunch
Visited at 3pm on Saturday. Had a revolting soggy lemon meringue well past its best, the bottom.was just slime and the lemon filling was weirdly fluffy, made all the worse by smothering the plate in cheap caramel sauce from a bottle which I wasnt asked if I wanted. Hot chocolate was in a small cup and made with a sugary water based commercial mix. Just not nice. Table was sticky.
Lovely traditional tea room cream tea delightful service brilliant reasonable to
Lovely place
Great venue near to the minster and lovely food.
The best place around for light refreshments. Perfect conservatory and open garden area. Absolutely spotless. Our go to place in Beverley.
Great staff
Very impressed with this cozy little tea shop. Food and service spot on .
Excellent quiet little cafe situated in Beverley. Been two days in a row due to fantastic experience the 1st time. Food was lovely and quickly served both days and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend Tea Cosy.
Unbelievably weak tea and coffee
Nice place, but their coffee is so weak its undrinkable.
Wonderful little cafe with delicious sandwiches, delicious coffee, and very friendly and quick staff.
